Review The Food Fundi - Nelspruit

This is one of my favorite places to stop for breakfast while in Nelspruit. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and they have a full menu of deliciousness thst is served up with a smile. They also have a large selection of coffee, tea, fresh juices and smoothies. This was my third visit and the service was quick, but when the restaurant is full service times can slow a bit. Either way, if you are looking for healthy delicious food options be sure to check them out. Update 30 Sept - on my last visit I deviated from the breakfast menu and made the mistake of ordering a cheese burger. It was over cooked and served on the largest roll ever instead of a bun. The good news is the onion rings I ordered were a nice treat.

The food is great, the atmosphere is good - a nice relaxed vibe. Too bad the service is slow...

Why is the Marshmallow and Butterscotch have no Butterscotch? Food is okay. Need more options. (Gluten Free, Nut free)

Absolutely perfect! This place truly has a variety of healthy foods for all kinds of diets. Vegetarian does not simply mean "without meat". They have wonderful vegetarian, vegan and banting options. Service is great and cost is very reasonable.

The food is awesome and different in a good way. The menu is a bit more expensive than most other places, but its worth it. The rooibos smoked chicken wrap is a must try. Food portions are of a decent size.

Love the variety on the menu (awesome smoothies too) and the food all tastes fresh and good quality! Staff are very welcoming and great value for money. Recommend a visit!

Best food!!! We talk about and recommended to all our friends! Nice and cool in the summer, and heated in the winter. The staff are very friendly, and always helpful. The food lacks nothing, full taste, healthy food, with drinks to match.

I spend such a lovely time with my mother here. We had amazing pot pie and the staff was so friendly. The manager or owner even start a conversation with us. What a friendly lady.

Delicious buffet today, very fairly priced at R20 per 100g. Moroccan flavours interesting, varied choice of dishes. Recommended! Try it on Saturday and/or Sunday.

I usually go here cause this place is well known in Nelspruit. When I went yesterday, the service was very slow, we waited almost an hour for a sandwich and a starter chicken strips. When I had eventually gotten my food, my roast beef was undercooked.

One of the best brunch restaurants in Nelspruit, extensive range of choices on menu, good coffee and they usually have a good selection of teas, interesting to note they have “bubbly on tap” plus slushies for those who are young at heart, definitely worth popping by for a mid morning fix

Food Fundi is a favorite breakfast spot. Amazing coffee and a variety of breakfast food to cater for everyone from continental to deep fried. The menu also does lunch and they even have wine on tap! This is a little hidden gem with a friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and best of all, good food.

Got a very small sandwich for what I paid and it said smoked chicken and cream cheese but had hardly any cream cheese, it tasted good and healthy but it didn't fill me

Had to come and try this little cafe. Have been reading raving reviews about this establishment. <br/><br/>Did not start to well when table next to me was complaining about dry chicken, but wanted to see for myself. Glad I did <br/><br/>So ordered a trio of burgers (sliders) - amazing classic combinations of Gorgonzola cheese with green figs, beef with Brie and caramelized onion chutney. Was amazingly tastefully and juicy. Loved it. The sweet potato chips was okay though. <br/><br/>Service was prompt and only small issue was that limited drinks and out of stock and waiter only came to tell after already ordering. <br/><br/>Overall a great little place and great food.

Best breakfast spot in Nelspruit. Love the decor. Definitely the best coffee in Nelspruit, love TriBeCa beans. I had the salmon and poached egg which was great. Only suggestion would be to offer rye bread.

Out in Nelspruit for the weekend, found the Food Fundi with Zomato, this place definitely needs a higher rating.<br/>Ordered the Highlands breakfast, one of the best breakfasts I have had in some time, perfectly poached eggs, delicious bread and a generous helping of trout, very impressive with a good cappuccino.<br/>The campfire breakfast was just average though.<br/>Service quick and polite, definitely worth a visit for a decent breakfast when in the area.

A great place for breakfast or quick lunch. The owner Jason is usually in the restaurant engaging with guests. Try the cheesecake, beyond yummy!

Managed to get around to Food Fundi for the first time for a lunch yesterday! Awesome little spot, very modern open design, makes me feel as if I'm back in Stellenbosch! A definite place to go for a quick lunch, always a good vibe around! Good value for money!<br/>Nelspruit is in need of more places like this! <br/>Thanks guys!

Had breakfast on Saturday 1st of April. Food was ok, a bit cold as if it was sitting before brought to the table. Service very slow. Freshly squeezed juices would be a great addition to the menu, especially in an area where fresh fruit is widely available.

Friendly staff always a plus when you have a child. Just found the drinks service a little slow. But when it did arrive it was great. Food fantastic. Overall a wonderful experience <br/>

Interesting menu with very generous portions. Had the lamb burger, under seasoned and unexciting lamb patty but the rest of the burger was very nice. I would go back for the sweet potato chips alone. <br/>Service was surprisingly quick given the inattentive wait staff.  All in all worth a return visit.

Another great spot for Breakfast! Awesome Cappuccinos and the meals are all scrumptious, fresh ideas! A bit pricey though. Still enjoyed it.

Best food and service in the area by a country mile. Two thumbs up ! Best chocolate brownie and the eggs Benedict and French toast are superb.

There menu stated gluten free, when I order it, the waiter said they don't have it and offered whole wheat instead lol. . .
