The Oevermeer Bistro at kloofzicht lodge is spectacular, the view is breathtaking, the ambience and very well trained staff are hands on and their very professional and friendly manager, Jimmy, who really interacts and makes sure his customers are happy is an asset to say the least...the service is exceptional and most importantly the food is very good and delicious..everything is 5 star, one just can't get enough it's so satisfying...well done to the chef at oevermeer we will be back again and again and have already told friends ..
Probably my 7th visit already. Highly recommend the beef burger with condensed milk and mustard sauce, the crunchiest potato wedges ever and a bowl of fresh salad. And what a view. Majestic yet serene. Yours in beautiful music Annemarie.
Had lunch here after the Cradle half marathon on Thursday. Everyone of us (5) had a wonderful meal, the service was exceptional and the view must be one of the best there is! Can't wait to come back �

Amazing location, beautiful views and friendly staff are the highlight of this bistro but let down by the lack of variety on the menu and the average food.
However, the menu is a little sparse. The vegetarian options were far and few between. Our starter, a shared vegetarian platter, was quite good. Mains were average. The pizzas need some work. The bases were thick and doughy and the topping was overly cheesy. The creme brulee we had for dessert was runny and the sugar layer at the top tasted burnt, so we ended up leaving most of it.
Oevermeer has the benefit of a great location. I think a change-up on the menu is due and a attention to the quality of food served is in need.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Oevermeer Bistro this past weekend. We were seated outside with the most beautiful view over the dam, but had to move inside due to a change in the weather. The inside didn't disappoint! We were seated close to the cozy fireplace. The hustle and bustle of the restaurant in the background, the friendly staff, amazing food and craft beer on tap made for a lovely afternoon. Another nice thing is that you're only about 20min away from the suburbs, but it feels like you're somewhere far away! Definitely deserves a 5 / 5 rating!!!
What a lovely experience! The food was out of this world and the service was excellent! Great menu selection with the best vegetarian burger I've ever had! They also cater for kids, so the whole family can enjoy the outing... and they have craft beer on tap - what's not to like about that!
We decided to go for a little Sunday drive and Found the best Bistro in Muldersdrift area. They share the premises of Kloofzicht Lodge and Spa. We ordered Burgers and Craft Beer and Gourmet Milkshakes and it was brilliant. Best Burger in Gauteng I've had in a long time.

Bistro's are jotted all along this route in the Cradle, its true.. but few are able to rival the views that Oevermeer Bistro (set in Muldersdrift) has. It conveniently overlooks six fly-fishing dams within a private game reserve at Kloofzicht Lodge and Spa.
Combine this setting with award-winning Chef Christ Tustian and you have a combination that Kloofzicht must be proud of!
This is a really casual setting so don't expect fine dining, and my chicken pizza kept it very simple: think peppadew, feta and spinach. Oevermeer isn't trying too hard to be anything but a relaxed atmosphere and their emphasis is on making the most of fresh seasonal produce which is perfect for lazy weekends in the countryside.
*Recommendation: For a casual setting with a difference (and views of nature that are hard to beat), this is a bistro to visit.

Went there for breakfast today and found it pleasant. Service was friendly and the portions were large and tasty. Good value for money as long as you not expecting the Kloofzicht luxury or something over the top.
Excellent addition to the West Rand, situated in the Kloofzicht lodge grounds.
Good to have two quality places like this and Bidon next to each other.
Amazing restaurant in a tranquil environment. The view is to die for inside this lodge. The service from waiters is not good. We had to wait 45 min for our food. I enjoyed the Doritos burgers cause it had literal Doritos. You can also go fishing here and see the giraffes. Also a beautiful spot to catch the sunset
I felt management let down the amazing staff and venue. Such a gem on our doorstep in Jozi, but the flies at the deck and general poor condition of facilities was a let down. Food was good and prices acceptable. Please make this the jewel we had hoped it would be.
I am a world traveler, and I just want say that this restaurant serves some of the best food that I have had anywhere in the world. Full of flavour, beautifully served, and dining in 1st class setting, spectacular view. Just perfect. Treat yourself there.

Heard a lot about this place, but it is môre beautiful than expected. I could sit here for days on end enjoying the views.
The food is reasonably priced and of the highest standards.
I will recommend Bistro anytime and will definitely come back to explore further.

One of my most favourite places! The day was beautiful, with great food, drinks, and great conversation. Thank you to the Overmeer Bistro staff that was helpful, kind, and friendly. The food was exquisite, my favourite pizza by far! The surrounding was breathtaking that feels like you are far away from the hustle and bustle. I recommend this wonderful place for anyone who wants to try something new.

Lovely food and atmosphere. You get more than enough food for the price. We had a pulled pork burger, which was great, but the bacon burger was dry and lacked flavour. It looked better than it tasted

A beautiful venue with a slightly odd menu. The pizza is a safe and tasty bet
This is a great place for kids, large open spaces and has a swing,slide and a small tube for kids. There is also a swimming pool and a lake where you are allowed to fly fish. The service is really beyond exceptional as it was fast and we didn't wait for anything we asked for over a long period of time. The food was absolutely delicious. It is a beautiful area.

Very grand and yet so down to earth. The drive from the entrance to here alone is something to behold. It's a beautiful hidden gem in muldersdrift with wonderful surroundings and enough nature to make you feel out of the city enough. The service is also very friendly. I absolutely love it here.
Oh My Goodness! What an amazing experience. The food is out of this world and feels like you should be on an episode of master chef. Everything on the plate plays its part to bring you amazing flavour and tastes like never before. Picking even your favourite and trusted item on the menu will push your boundaries and expectations. When you think you have had it all, go and try this wonderful place, you will not be dissapointed. The service is first class and very professional. The view is peaceful and serene, surrounded by lakes and beautiful mountains. The wildlife and birds are ever present. Saw a fish eagle as well as giraffe and buck.
The spectacular view of nature, blue sky, spectacular display of birds and blue sky compliments the dining on the deck. Our burgers were a mouth full, very tasty and grilled to perfection. These chefs know how to cook. Our main meal were rounded of with steamy coffee, pudding and a display of ducks and the the aroma of a fireplace. If only all restaurants can be like this one....

Where do I begin!!! Firstly - 10/10 for Kloofzitch lodge and Spa staff! They were excellent! We had our 10th annual conference there an our delegates were impressed as per norm!
Then- Oevermeer Bistro- wow wow wow!! Staff excellent, friendly, management on point!! The food was amazing - 10/10 to the chef! The two nights we ate there we were highly impressed! See the awesome pictures!! The starters - devine- the mains - perfect size, delicious and desert - well cheese and biscuits the first night then cheese cake and Amarula ice cream- yummmmmmmy!!
I would definitely recommend this place guys, it feels like you are out of the city - great mini get away! If you want a venue to host a conference, wedding or just a get away- Mo's def highly recommended!

I went for a spa and it was heaven. Not far from M1 Johannesburg about 20 minutes and you feel like you are hours outside of Johannesburg. Reserved 1 star for food as it can be improved on

Great; This a great spot for lunch in the summer when you feel like getting away from the city. The food is great with a beautiful view and a relaxed environment. Perfect place to stop and grab a bite after cycling in the area.
