What a beautiful setting. Quiet and dog friendly. My elderly dog could not make it up the stairs she has a leg tumour. We got there with bribes to my baby. The owner does not care about loading units. I spent 12 hours without electricity. If you order food for diner kitchen closes at 5pm. You will eat cold food wrapped in clear wrap soggy and disgusting. But my dog ate it. The mangeress Francina come bar lady you will find stealing out of the till. During no power you will break your neck or fall down flight of stairs. No provision made. I was there for over a week. They close on Monday and Sunday. No food no service.. Beautiful room but not TV any where. Owner rude service not too good. The whole place needs a good clean. Broken curtains. No loo paper. Coffee only ricofee bring your own. Food average when you don't get it delivered at 5pm to eat later. No microwave provided. They are sitting on a gem but very backwards. My dog did enjoyed it though. Only reason I stayed so long. I also fed her all the food I was unable to eat. Ps no power means no hot water, no water no wifi. You will make your way up many stairs in total darkness. Bar will also be closed. No food edable most night s nothing to drink no staff on duty. It really needs a lot of attention.

I took my wife out for a romantic evening after discovering this place on a Google search. We cannot get over how beautiful this location is! It feels as though you have been transported to an Italian villa, the venue is beyond beautiful. The food was delicious and the hospitality from Mitch and Daniella went over and above anything we could have expected. I could not recommend this place more!!!!!!

Party venue for 21st. The hospitality from the team is fantastic, they assisted with all our requests, food, drinks, seating, audio equipment. The beef burgers were absolutely delicious and all our guests were satisfied. Thank you Bosheuwel for helping us celebrate a momentous occasion. We will be back!

Mitch and his team really do go the extra mile. Welcome home is really a fitting marketing strategy. Will definitely be back

We had a great time. The food was excellent and Mitch was a vibe. He made sure we are all taken care of and made us laugh. Thank you so much. Thank you Aaron and George. Highly recommend this place...šŸ˜Š

Still one of our favorite Sunday outings. I was concerned that the situation with Covid19 would affect them over the past two years, but I was pleasantly surprised in how well the farm has been upheld and how neat and tidy everything is. A nice addition has been the small market that they have organized for every last Sunday of the month. There are some really unique products such as the specialty teas, handmade crochet products and pottery graters for garlic, cheese and ginger roots painted in true South African motifsā€¦ideal as gifts for overseas travellers. And then there is their peaceful outdoor restaurant with really good in-house or locally produced foodsā€¦.what more can I say?

What an amazing place. This is not our 1st time, we've been many times before and we love it everytime. This time we went to watch the rugby. The vibe was great, the food was excellent and the drinks kept rolling. It's kid friendly with a newly built jungle gym/tree house, the pool is a winner in summer and the staff feel like family.

Spent a night at this wonderful estate. The eisben was out of this world, the atmosphere was so lovely and enjoyed the pet friendly vibe. We had a good night sleep and cant rave enough about the food and friendly hospitality.

Bosheuvel is such a wonderful venue to go for a homie experience away from home! Food is wonderful and drinks are cold šŸ™ŒšŸ» though their may have been a line for the Christmas buffet due to how busy they were, the food was worth the wait! Definitely going back very soon!

Delicious wedding FEAST venue!! Awesome staff members who LOVE what they are doing. Try the barman's Blueberry G&T it's sooo gorgeous and decadent. The cakes, deserts, homemade pizza made by a REAL young Viking! šŸ˜

Fantastic setting. This is a working farm, and such is the setting of the restaurant. Chickens and dogs wandering around, so donā€™t go if this is not your cup of tea. Love the fact that all meat presented is home grown and processed on site. Where they lack on waiter service and training they make up in the quality of food, surroundings and atmosphere. Kids can swim and play in huge gardens and jumping castle. Ideal for a close to town and quick breakaway for a couples weekend. Enjoy a good massage, and lovely company from the owners and staff while dining. Weā€™ll worth a try and this place will grow and improve to be the next hot spot.

We arrived to a BIG welcome from the owner, Mitch, then settled in to the always-delicious meat platter (great quality, quantity and price). Also loved the craft beer. We were hit by load shedding halfway through the meal but that didn't dampen our spirits as we sat by the roaring fire. Chef Jackie pulled off a miracle by whipping up some banana split waffles in the dark. We spent the night in a spacious, very comfy room and enjoyed waking to the sounds of the farm. Also loved the excellent breakfast of omelettes and French toast. Thank you Mitch, Jackie, Anele, Ivan and everyone else who ensured we had a fantastic experience. This was our third visit and there will be many more.

This hidden Gem boasts a family atmosphere with a great restaurant in a lovely garden setting. The food is fantastic and the steak was easily the best that I have had in Joburg. Owners were very friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

So weā€™ve tried this restaurant a few times over the last few years. Every time weā€™ve been thereā€™s been something that has been wrong. Today was an epic failure. Raw fish fingers, raw chicken in the schnitzel, a 2 inch long piece of wire in the vegetables. The worst part is that the manager apologized and committed to removing the food that had the issues (3 of the 5 meals) and to give us ice cream and chocolate sauce for the kids for free. However, when the bill arrived nothing had been removed and only the chicken had been discounted by 50%. The ice creams were for free but we were charged for chocolate sauce.

It will definitely be several years before we build up the courage to return, if ever.

I honestly do not know how this place gets a 3.7 rating. One of the worst experiences ever.We were seated outside and I suppose the reason being it is out in the country there is a million flies around, we had to ask for candles which was of no use by the way.We waited more than an hour for our order and to cap it all the so called premium beef isnt done justice if your portions are not consistent .We ordered 500g TBone each and the one was about halve the size of the other. Both tables next to us also complained about the food/time.Will never be back

food was less than disgusting... waited over an hour for our food, when it came it was so bad we couldn't eat it, I don't think complaining would even help these people just don't have a clue, I think closing down would be the best option. Your food is just horrifying and I recall think you should close your restaurant for the sake of mankind please dear god just close your doors. The black mess in the one photo is apparently bacon, the almost entire loaf of bread that coated the I&J hake fillet was so nauseating we were put off the rest of our stay and just decided to pay and leave, how could you have have such a fantastic venue and ruin it with such disgusting food, you should be so ashamed for charging for that slop you call food. I have never been so horrified in my life.

A great tradisional plaas food restaurant,if you love steak and the outdoors a great place to relax in a farm atmosphere close to the city The steak and hamburger dishes was great and affordable.R950 for 4 .Real "kuier plek" .staff was great

Found this restaurant while looking for a good breakfast venue , so we gave it a try.
Not well signposted on Beyers Naude drive, approaching from Cresta, and road names not visible- we missed the turn.
There is great potential here, but everything needs a bit of love and attention - including the Deli.
The breakfast is big but average - nothing special, but the menu needs a bigger choice . A pot of filter coffee would be a welcome addition, in stead of ordering by the cup.
We tried their craft beer sampler, but found their beer not to our taste - I would recommend sticking to the branded beers on the menu.

We had excellent service. The staff really went out of their way. And the food was also Excellent food. The whole family had an amazing time. Thank you.

Amazing amazing amazing!!! Been there a few times. Friendly staff. Kid friendly. Love the dogs walking around like they own the place. So inviting. Just amazing.
Cari Du Toit
Not the greatest place to be honest. Inedible jalapeƱo poppers, they were so hot that we were in physical pain from eating them. The ribs were tough and tasteless. Not great.
Hazel S Chigumira
Had the best ribs - juicy, tasty and just fell off the bone. Very generous portions and the freshest veggies ever. Just didn't like the dogs being around us eating.
Lovely service and value for money. Definitely a must for meat lovers!

So after book marking this spot for a a while I finally took my son and my missus there

Firstly having the beef on the premises and the Abattoir to some might be a put off but knowing this to me makes me even more happier as it's super fresh

I woke up this morning craving meat and didn't for the first time in my life want to braai so opted
For the short drive (about 15-20min depending on traffic from northern suburbs), when we
Got there there service started off great but as the place got
Busy (and around 2pm was packed) the Waiter kinda went MIA a little but he did tell me it was due to a few waitrons not showing up (so benefit of the doubt given)

Okay food time - we had the carpaccio starter which was outstanding real nice thick pieces of meat, I ordered my son the kiddies platter which was ribs, sausage, fish fingered and chicken strips along with chips and this was only 50 rand which I couldn't believe

I had the 500g T-Bone and my wife had there chicken schnitzel which both were outstanding
Asked for my meat medium rare and it came out spot on and was warm inside

They also have a gentleman playing music and is not over powering to the ear so one doesn't need to shout at each other apart from that they have a
Micro brewery on site (score) so all around one hell of a nice spot

Well done team Cattleman's will def come back

So disappointing. All of our steaks were very tough. After all the great reviews we felt let down. Vibe was great and lovely to be in the country. Unfortunate that we were let down.

Arrived having been recommended to come here, can't say I'm impressed. Had the platter for 2, food pretty bland but atleast the portion size was decent. Beer wise, once again the pilsner was very bland nothing special. Service was good atleast and price wise not bad.
T Prakash
A good outdoor place though the drive to get to the place is not the smoothest.
The food is decent...but the flies were a nuisance the day we were there

Great for outdoor relaxed and unwinding environment.
Hours just fly by with no worries or cares in the world.
Everything from the setting, staff and food conforms to the 'homely' feel.
The menu has variety and servings are reasonable portion(s), they could however, explore spices to enhance the flavor and experience.

As part of the homely feel, they have about 3 dogs that wonder about inbetween the tables and courtyard; I do not like animals near or around food.
A love of dogs and with 2 of my own, but I dont like dogs sitting next to me while I eat and I cant chase them away.

Been meaning to visit here for months now, and really happy I finally did.
Set amongst a working farm, with a real outdoors feel, this work in progress is a real winner in the area.
The service is good and if you are a carnivore, then this is the place to be.
The bar is well equipped and they even have a craft brewers selection with 2 brands I've never tried before and both will have me returning.
We were a party of 3 and decided to try the meat plate for 3 and there was more than enough to satisfy all.
Looking forward to my next visit, even if it's just to the craft section

Great restaurant! Loved the atmosphere, loved the place and food was good and the self brewery beer was a real winner! Will be going back soon!

Found another hidden gem in our valley!
Own Pinzgauer craft beer on par with Black Horse and food of high quality, one of best eisbeins and their trade mark "from farmer to plate" meat dishes. The "farmer to plate" credo ensures the feshest or well matured meat from their own Pinzgauer stud, born, bred and produced in their own abbatoir on the farm. The kids were entertained in the swimming pool and thoroughly enjoyed feeding the pigs and cows. After enjoying your meal visit the deli with meats and locally produced cheese to take home.
Welcome home from Mitch a truly welcoming and friendly host.
Country feeling in Jozi and well worth a visit.

Stunning atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious fresh meals. What more could anybody ask for? Don't forget the farm brewed Pinzgauer craft beeršŸŗ Welcome home is how you'll be greeted and trust me you'll feel right at home
Nicole
What a lovely gorgeous outdoor place!! I'm so so happy we decided to come here!!! We had the eisbien - omg.... Free range pork - what more can I say! Seriously.... Just beautiful & tranquil
Candice Gerber
If you are into craft beers then this little place is a definite to tick off the list. With a range of 5 different home made beers to choose from. The food is pub grub type food with really good potato wedges.
Paula Walsh
Very nice venue with good music. Food is a bit hit and miss, don't think they have a pizza oven so don't bother with them. It's great if you're not too worried about great food. Also a lot of the wines on the menu were out of stock. Coffee machine is broken so no cappuccino or filter coffee. We had a nice relaxing afternoon otherwise.
Natasha Jacobsohn
