Review Casalinga Restaurant - Muldersdrift

Lovely venue for end-of-year functions, weddings (beautiful chapel) outdoor area for children to play, lots of goodies to buy, outdoor area reminds me of Capetown's wine farms. Lots of shades - white linen table cloths and serviettes. Service was a bit slow - many people and Christmas functions going on.

I enjoyed my time here, planning on going back as the time I had was limited but I enjoyed the little time I spent there. The staff was very friendly, the place caterers for everything. Whether you’re looking for a great time with one,2 or a group of people, I saw that they also cater for weddings and other functions. Absolutely stunning, from the entrance to it’s different sitting areas, looked like the also had an area where if people want for their private function maybe on a busy day as the place is quite spacious. I simply cannot wait to explore it more when I’m back in Joburg again. I was captivated by it’s stunning and calming atmosphere that I couldn’t take a lot of pictures but will definitely do better the next time😉

The food is delicious and well prepared. Just disappointed with the lamb shank, it was a bit dry. The T bone amazing texture and cooked to perfection. They probably need to invest in more servers. They too long to bring drinks

The staff are friendly, accommodating, and attentive. There's a wine cellar, cold beer on tap, and the food is excellent. The rooms we stayed in were spacious, quiet, and, in general, entirely adequate. Overall, it is a great experience.

Went there for lunch. The food was delicious. 5 star service. Nice view . Child friendly and huge play field for kids to play. Countryside and not far from Honeydew which makes it perfect location to main highway the N14.

Attended an 80th birthday celebration luncheon at the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. Service and food was very good. However the ambiance was spoilt by loud thumping music from another function in the garden. The owners need to take cognoscence and not allow this type of unpleasantness, especially for the diners trying to enjoy lunch st the outdoor tables.

My children took me to Casalinga in Mothers day. It was chilly at home, but the weather in the area it's situated is always good. Gardens are lovely. Security good. Wonderful friendly reception. Our waiter was extremely funny and considered. Excellent food, timeously served. We all had a wonderful day.

Service was amazing, thank you Bongani. Food was delicious and the setting is like a dream. It takes you away from Jozi. Kids play area. Very tranquil. Organic garden.

Beautiful settings ...it is a pity the food did not live up to it. Food was average and the desert were even worse....for the price we paid at about 600.00 per head on a set menu...not worth the drive. Very very disappointing!! The staff were fantastic though!

Went to the Groves and Vineyards fest yesterday. We went as "VIP'S" but was disappointed with the VIP setup. The good points: - the tented area looked lovely - it was close to the stage and we could enjoy the music But that's where the positive notes stop. The bad points: - the bar staff (Thirst) were terrible. We waited for 40 mins on arrival just to get a drink. They ran out of ice, mixer and jugs so we had to wait for ages for more to be brought up. This is not rocket science guys...It's supposed to be what you do. All the staff looked bewildered and out of their league. Not a great advert for their company either - Casalinga was supposed to provide an antipasto buffet table. This is the reason I've rated them so poorly here. There was ONE platter of some meat (looked like meatballs) that had been left outside in the sun for what must have been ages (we were there all day and it had only been cleared 3 hours after we arrived. No other food was ever brought out onto the tables. It was a HUGE disappointment. Eventually we were all so hungry that we went out into the festival to purchase food from one of the vendors. When we got back, we saw a waitress going around with a tiny platter of food that was finished by the time we got back to our seats. Poor form. - the seating was an issue - some people who had booked in large groups were allocated tables. This wasn't ever communicated before hand so people were seated all over the place. One particularly bulshy man was sitting at one of our tables and refused to move when 10 of us arrived, saying the organisers had seated him here. The organisers did nothing to rectify the situation when we spoke them and eventually after lots of awkward negotiation, we got him to move to another table. Badly handled on the organisers part and it started off the afternoon badly. - another complaint about the bar - the free prosecco was such a mission to get that we gave up on it and ended up buying all our drinks. But then the drinks took so long to get that eventually we purchased bottles of gin and champagne to keep at our table in order to be able to have drinks when we wanted them. This should never happen at an event like this. We should have been able to walk up to the bar and perhaps wait 5-10 mins max to get a drink. This was not the case. All in all, the music was great but the day could have been fantastic - due to the poor organisation of the VIP area, it wasnt. We all felt ripped off and if we went back, it would not be for the R650 per ticket we bought.

It was our 1st time and we were impressed with the beautiful set up, and beautiful surroundings.....we had good service, good food and even though the place was so busy everything seemed to run smoothly and efficiently! The staff was friendly and well trained. Great restaurant!....definitely recommendable!....

I have celebrated many special occasions such as my birthday at Casalinga and I have never been disappointed! Incredible food, beautiful venue, superb staff and the list goes on

Casalinga is my ultimate treat for my Birthday. Love the ambiance. Food was ok but because it is Christmas party time it felt a bit mass produced and rushed. Steak knives were a bit blunt. But still beautiful setting and a must see

My husband & I went to Casalinga Ristorante yesterday to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. The food & the atmosphere were absolutely incredible. I also think that because we mentioned that it is for our anniversary dinner (when we booked the table), special care was taken to make it extra special - there were rose petals on our table :-) <3 Thank you so much for a very special evening!

Very disappointing - mixup with the food, poor waiter attendance, 3 out of 9 meals were sent back and changed. We have been before and had great service and food. Seems things have changed unfortunately ...

We celebrated my 60th birthday on 19 May at Casalinga. The food and service were both excellent. Thanks to Lee and the other staff who did a splendid job. We enjoyed every minute.

Excellent dining! Lovely gardens for a walkabout and photos of course. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Extremely good service! The best traditional carpaccio, slow-cooked lamb loin and combination chocolate mousse I’ve ever had :-)
