The clay oven is so wow..... the view of the ocean and river just make it so relaxing and calming and the food is so fresh and it taste a-m-a-z-i-n-g. The staff ou ma word,what a friendly bunch. It was my first time yesterday visiting the place firstly the food was good especially the pizza wow I it was amazing especially the garlic and chillies the view from the deck promise I will be back with friends
We go to Mtunzini every year for the Bush run and have been going to the Clay Oven in a big crowd for a number of years and will be back this Saturday night with a crowd of 30 people. That will tell you something , excellent food and service and a view to kill for.
They have the absolute best pizza's in town which is complemented with a view of the nature reserve and the ocean. It is just the most relaxing experience you will have in Mtunzini!!

Through many years of being open, the Clay Oven Restaurant is by far at its Best version of itself with its current staff and management. Lovely scenery, friendly staff, and amazing food ensure a wonderful time had for any occasion.

The Clay Oven is situated on Hely Hutchinson Street in the beautiful village of Mtunzini on the North Coast of Zululand. I was born in Mtunzini, so today was a trip down memory lane.. As such, the Clay Oven needed no introduction and I was impressed that the level of service and food has not changed.

Homely interiors frequented often by locals and I love that they still have the same clay oven that has always made our pizzas and that you can watch your food being made. This restaurant has one of the best views in Mtunzini.

They have excellent Pizzas. It is best to make a reservation because it gets full quickly. It has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. You have to try their Chicken mayo pizza it is amazing👌.
Excellent food. I had the beef Fillet with veg and my partner had battered hake with chips. Both were delicious. Service was premium!

This is my wife's and I favorite reataurant when we're in town. Food is prepared fresh, so you have to wait few minutes. The ambience is great, too! Here's their little brown daschund, a regular friendly feature at the place! Highly recommended that you visit.
A stop that I would definitely be recommending in the near future. Not only was the service amazing but the food was on an entirely different level.
I'm so glad to have found a restaurant in Zini that welcomes their clientele with warm smiles and 'home-made' meals, fit for even the hungriest kings.
