A unique experience... This isn't a standard restaurant - it is open for a few hours, expect to stay there for a few hours. Each course is cooked and then announced - people can eat as much as they want of each course.. the courses are; an amazing bread served with mussels, grilled snoek, seafood potjie (rice and veg), venison with rice and veg and koeksisters for dessert... You definitely won't leave hungry! You can take your own drinks You can order the prawns and kreef (at an additional cost).. both were delicious. Lovely setting - just off the beach Staff are super friendly Views are stunning Car park is huge Great for big groups

We had my daughter and son-in-law's wedding there this past weekend and everything was 100% perfect. Nikkie and her staff really go the extra mile and Nikkie is just a super star. We would definitely recommend them. Well done and thank you, thank you, thank you

Everything was good. The cocktails just wasn't nice. It could use some tasting and adding some ingredients to taste better before selling to the public or maybe have some tasters before we buy an expensive drink that wasn't nice to drink. But in the overall, we had a nice experience and we will be visiting again !🙂 The food was 👌! My favorite I must say the snoek and patats, the potbrood and the vegetables. The mossels wasn't bad either, it's just a bit oily to my preference, but that is just my personal opinion and I think that is how it is supposed to be served. But I would still recommend going. 👌

Pretty much the best seafood bbq we ever had. We love fine dining too but the view, the food, the people, the happiness is just amazing. It tasted so good and everybody was so friendly. You will not leave hungry and everything is just prepared perfect. Like a big family bbq. We loved everything. Thanks for this experience.

This is the best restaurant, staff and hostess in the world. The food is exceptional and unique. If you come to the Garden route, I recommend you treat yourself with a visit to this piece of heaven

The food is out of this world and so delicious! We litterly rolled out. For the price it is worthwhile and it is as it says - Eat as much as you can for 3 hours! Friendly people with excellent service! Cannot wait to visit again in the near future.

Ek het gister die De Vette Mossel vir die derde keer besoek, en het dit net soveel soos die eerste keer geniet. Ons het geëet tot ons bly lê aan die lekkerste mossels, snoek, soetpatats, potbrood, seekospotjie, en nog vele meer. Hulle speel lekker musiek, en die vibe is regtig genotvol. As ek nou moes iets negatiefs sê, kan ek wel sê dat die verwelkoming personeel dalk net bietjie vriendeliker kan wees. Buiten dit, sal ek die restaurant aan enige mens aanbeveel wat 'n lekker tyd wil hê, en eet dat jy rol!! Ek sal julle beslis weer besoek!

Nie n goeie ondervinding nie , eerste plek is die snoek klaar en almal sit en wag vir nog snoek , oor die algemeen was die kos net net op standaard vir die bedrag wat jy betaal . Gaan kyk by Muisbosskerm wat is seekos buffet ete

Baie lekker ervaring. Al kan ek nooit in randwaarde die kos op eet waarvoor ek betaal nie, is dit die hele ondervinding wat dit so spesiaal maak. Was al by soortgelyke plekke in die land maar die een klop almal by verre!

Kom elke jaar De Vette Mossel toe weens dit ‘n plek is wat na aan mens se hart sit...die atmosfeer, personeel en natuurlik die kos. Het vir more aand geboek teen duurste, maar om eerlik te se na ek die reviews gekyk het stel ek glad nie meer belang om te gaan nie alhoewel dit baie swaar is. Ek onthou eerder net die goeie. ....ongelukkig volg word of mouth!!!!!

Ongeskikte eienaar, ongeskikte personeel. Ons is weggejaag toe ons daar stop. Toe ons verduidelik ons het reeds betaal, was ons ewe skielik welkom. Ons het die 23ste en 24ste altesaam 14 keer probeer bel om vir n ekstra persoon te boek, maar geen antwoord of terugvoer. As die diens so sleg is, is die kos seker om van naar te word.

Thank you for a very exciting time at your beach restaurant last night. The food was amazing. Well prepared and very tasteful. We loved the snoek and patats. The mussel starters were world class. As you warned us before, we could not eat all the food. We liked the atmosphere and the staff was friendly and the service excellent. Make sure you buy the prawn platter for the whole table!

Love this place. The food is great. Location on the beach is the best with wonderful views. The staff and owner friendly and love what they do. You just have to have Delilah! No shoes allowed makes it even more fun!

Disappointed and had raw soft translucent prawns. The bread and snoek was nice. We have been to vette mossel 4 times before. Won't be going again.

Had such a good time at De Vette Mossel. We were looking for no-nonsense seafood in a very laidback setup. <br/>Got exactly that. Informal, relaxed atmosphere. Hearty, wholesome, beautifully cooked food. <br/>Amazing time. 10/10

Its our second visit and it was most enjoyable. I do not recommend it to a person expecting 5 star treatment, but for a person expecting a 5 star meal I am sure your expectations will be met. The atmosphere is typical West Coast and the relaxed, holiday vibe rules.

We attended a wedding here and the food was good but more so the host was so incredibly welcoming. The drinks are well priced and the easy walk down to the beach is beautiful. Also, go without shoes or shoes which are easily removed.
