Review Delfino's Restaurant - Mossel Bay

Beautiful laidback restaurant right on the beachfront in Mosselbay. Seaviews and view of the lighthouse on the hill. Service was good and we didn't wait long for our food. They have quite an extensive menu which is available online to view if you want a peek before going to their restaurant (I only photographed a small part of their menu). We went for lunch, but I am sure this is a particularly delightful spot on a beautiful summer's evening. This was my first time at Delfino, but won't be my last!

Nice restaurant on the edge of the beach with plenty of seating outdoors under cover. Had the 300g hake and chips and was not disappointed. My wife had the calamari and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was good.

The magic is in the name, seaside restaurant... With a menu that caters for most tastes and a great selection of drinks, the cool breeze from the ocean to cool you down on a hot summer's day... Maybe a walk on the beach or dipping your feet in the ocean... or just staring into the yonder watching a cruise ship go by... this spot will grow on you...

Lovely views, friendly waiters and nice vibe. The food was very flavourful but I did get a very well done steak after ordering a medium rare and my husband's order was the wrong order even though what he got instead was good. We did wait a while, but will try them again though as they were very busy when we were there and it didn't look like they had many waiters.

Relaxed place... it's right on the beach so the scenery is great. Portions are great. I could not even finish my meal. However, they need to up their game a bit for those prices.

Not only did Delfinos excel in their foods offerings, but the idyllic coastal setting further enhanced the overall dining experience. During our recent road trip, we had the pleasure of visiting Delfinos, a lovely restaurant situated on the beach of Mossel Bay.

Stunning setting, good variety of food on the menu. Their fish and calamari was good, prices slightly lower than the norm. Ideal place to have a snack or drink whilst keeping an eye on the children playing in the tidal pool next door

Food was nice, just a pity that some of it was cold. The chips was the best chips I ever had. Enjoyed a Bikini bfast for R69. This includes two eggs, two bacon, toast and chips. The view is just breathtaking. Thank you for friendly service

A great little restaurant right on top of the beach, which is perfect for people watching and keeping an eye on any little ones. Lots of space for families and big groups. The service was quick to take orders but the food took a long time to come out. Was worth it when it did though. I would highly recommend the fish, calamari and chips. I took it with hake and 1/2 portion of chips, 1/2 with salad and got so much food. I can see why it attracts large crowds. Worth a stop if you can find parking nearby.

Had never been to Mossel Bay. We were traveling from George to CT , decided to go to The Point for brekky. Chose Delfino's. Only had toastie's & coffee. Only small issue was that the clearly marked pepper pot contained salt.

Nothing beats a sundowner and scrumptious meals right on the water's edge where you can watch the surfers, whales and dolphins frolicking in the surf as well as keeping an eye on the kids in the tidal pool or on the swings. Friendly staff, great food, view to LIVE for! ;-)

My wife and I love this place, from the manager down, the staff are fantastic. The food Is delicious and the location of the restaurant is second to none. Wish l could eat there every day�

We had an older more mature waiter. She was extremely fast and professional. Nice buffet breakfast & filter coffee was delicious.

Awesome view of the sea, rocks and surfers. Indoors and outdoors seating. Informal. Friendly staff, especially Shiraan and Mandy, who made special accommodations for our disabled daughter. Thanks, we enjoyed our visit.

Total disaster from the word go. Our waiter got our order wrong from the first o r placed. Asked for shooters got Cocktails asked for bacon egg and cheese burger got avo and cheese chicken burger they tried fixing the problem only to get if wrong again. Wrong milkshakes was dilevered for the kids. I normally don't complain but I left there not eating anything. I I'm only giving the rate a 2 because the reception at the door was good. Never again

Service was slow and my drink arrived about 1/4 hour after my meal did. The food was good though and hot.

What a great experience. Staff is friendly and super sufficient. Great variety of dishes to choose from, and what you pay for is what you get. Loved every moment. <br/><br/>A must for locals and anyone visiting from abroad.

Amazing view and friendly staff. As a local i come here quite often but i enjoy it more and more every time. The best place to eat on a warm sunny day in December ☀️

Overpriced and limited menu yet the cooks did a great job. The only thing worse than the service is the management. Not recommended at all.

I need to start by mentioning how amazing the ambience of this place is. It's literally on the beach and therefore has great view. We ordered the pizza which was one of a kind, very different from the ones we tasted in the rest of South Africa, personally I quite enjoyed it! We had the hot chocolate as well which was served with Marshmallows, loved that.

Sorry to say the standard has dropped since last we were here. My wife’s chicken burger was inedible, the wine we chose was warm because they had not put any wine into the fridge, they brought a small plastic container for an ice bucket with warm water and no ice, my pizza came 30 minutes after everyone else had finished eating, etc. We are still waiting for the side order of chips and the Castle light. When I spoke to the manager he was uninterested, no apology, no attempt to find out what went wrong??<br/>O, and the waiter had an attitude when we complained. Nice view though.

Great setting, lots of potential. Very pricey for what you get. Bunless (it quotes banting-friendly) burger comes with sweet basting and slice of processed cheese; which I cannot possibly eat. One rasher of bacon and half an avo. R98. Nothing else on the plate<br/>but garnish. Not worth it.

Had to grab a quick breakfast so decided on their buffet offering. Wide selection of slightly above average dishes especially if you’re a meat lover. Not very sophisticated but good hearty food. The view from the restaurant is to die for so compensates fully should the meal be lacking.

As much as i would like to write a great review about the view, the food and the service.... i can't. First off i waited about 15min before i waiter came to my table fornmy drink order. Then waited another 20min for my order, which was a hot chocolate and came out looking like milk, even tasted like milk. 💩💩 i used to love this place but clearly service has gone down a lot!!

Great atmo when you arrive. Waiting just too long for your food. Seven people. First one almost finished when the last food arrive. Mixed compliments to the shef nor good nor too bad. Salads were stunning but al the others were standard. Breakfast only a buffet and doest look that appealing. Again tried it. This time around best service great fish and chips and a tuscan salad to die for. Pizza not that great average compare to other places. Still the best view. If you on a budget this mighr be to steep.

So the holiday have started and decide to treat our self for a quick lunch at Delfinos as they always have a nice vibe. The weather is not of the best to sit out side so have decided to sit inside. Food is good and the sushi from there sister Restaurant upstairs is out of this world. The only thing that spoiled the whole experience was the staff is laid-back at work standing at the waiters stations and chatting and playing around. Also their uniforms is so inconsistent and every one has their own uniform managers is no where to been seen I thing this is mostly the reason for the waiters to play around as there is no supervision. Will def be back for the food and awesome view that they have.

I was surprisingly impressed. Service was fast and the staff are genuinely attentive and you're on the beach front! Probably had one of the BEST pizzas in my entire life. Chicken, mushroom and fig brie, amazing! Disappeared before I could even snap a pic.😋

I've never sent food back in my life! Both my boyfriend and I sent our food back unfinished, it was inedible :( so disappointed for two very basic dishes (I had fish and chips and he ordered a ham and cheese sandwich with chips - yes shocking I know!) I explained nicely to the waitress and she still charged us full price plus tip! Poor form and sad for my two bites of food and his not even one quarter eaten meal! Both felt ill after too - will NEVER be back not even for water (even their lemons were dry and old - yuk!)

Excellent service from Anina and food was great. Pleasant inside atmosphere and food came out very quickly and was superb quality. Taken a lot home for breakfast.

I ate here for 3 days in a row. Burger is average , pizza is good and the steak is good. They have a good selection of craft beers. I have been here often and will be back again.

One would assume that a seafood restaurant will at least be willing to serve a grilled hake (instead of fried), if a person due to health problems, really cannot eat fried hake. <br/><br/>One would also assume that the manager would at least have decency to come and explain the situation, instead of telling the waiter to tell us that "It will take too much time for the kitchen to prepare a grilled hake".<br/><br/>At least the waiter was very friendly and the only highlight of the restaurant.<br/><br/>We will unfortunately never visit Delfino's again.<br/><br/><br/>

Excellent location for a Holiday drink and meal. In high season the wait for a table can be extensive and because of its popularity the service slow. To their credit you are warned about this in advance. The food is average, with the best bet being the pizza. The deep fried chips was awfull and I got the impression that it was prepared in stale oil. The stunning views make up for the shortcomings.

Firstly I think this place has got tremendous amounts of potential. It probably has the best view in mosselbay, however the service is disgusting. It takes forever to place your order and then a lifetime to receive it. I have to applaud the waiters as they still try to be friendly. The food is average. I will continue to visit this place purely because of the view.

The Location makes this place.. too much cheese on the pizzas, won't take much to just up their game and not rely on the setting to draw people, lots of potential.

I went there for lunch on my first day in Mossel Bay before I did my research on where to eat out in Mossel Bay. It was horrible, I regret that I even ate it, I should have send it back to the kitchen. I ordered stir fry vegetables, they were swimming in oil and were shredded in very small pieces and very soggy!

The 1.5 is for the view. That is abou all i can say.<br/><br/>We had the Palerno pizza, smoked mussels, prawns, fetta and jalapeno's. Mussels out of a can, raw prawns, jalapeno's overpower everything at lease fetta was normal.<br/><br/>I ate the pizza because i do not believe in sending food back that i ordered.Anthony Dale - Herbst

Great venue, sucky menu. <br/>Situated next to the ocean, but almost no seafood on the menu....Continues in the trend of Mossel Bay sucking in general.

Service was terribly slow, but waiter was very cheerful and entertaining. I used to love this place, but standards seem to have fallen just a tad... I love the view and omw the sauces!! Will be back as this place has a special part of my heart.

Had the signature platter. Was excellent. Loved the onion rings. Service was fast and friendly. Waiting even served my 2 poodles! Next time I am doubling up on the onion rings!

Delfino's is at such a perfect spot with everything going for them, but all bad comments is unfortunately true. Tonight the drinks were all warm, we have waited exactly 1 hour for our food and then it arrived cold, they ran out of gas and we had to change our order, broken glasses were left in the middle of the floor, the staff had their own loud disco in the kitchen and so it goes on. Unfortunately they will not see us again !

After being here for almost 3 hours we decided to pay for our one starter and drinks and left. Upon paying at the door there were no apology from the manager. He even asked if we will be willing to wait another 30min for our pizzas. Not a positive experience whatsoever.

Delfinos is a very popular pizza restaurant on the beach, at The Point in Mossel Bay because of the magnificent view. Every year I make the same mistake of visiting them over the festive season hoping on a different result. The restaurant is extremely busy so you can expect things to slip but the cleanliness is missing. Dirty floors and tables, black ash from the pizza oven sticking to the pizza base and paper in my coffee makes it a bad day all round. They need to turn this place around asap!

We had a great experience at Delfinos, the food was great! We had an excellent waitress.Great views of the ocean. We will definitely go back.

The view at this restaurant is just amazing. It's right on the beach at The Point in Mosselbay. <br/><br/>The service is a bit slow but the food is good and they have great coffee.

Would agree to previous reviews, except the beatiful views there's nothing else to arrtact the customer there.I experienced grumpy stuff, the food was not the best in the world and not tasty.Whoever considers to go there,should rather move upstairs to Kungfisher,where the quality of service and taste of the food much better.

We were not impressed. The menus were sticky with food smeared on them. We arrived at 10:12 and asked for breakfast but were denied as they only serve breakfast till 10:00. No need for us to return to Delfino's ever

Incredible views, and location. Friendly service, if a little slack. Food was fast and ok. You have to visit this restaurant, forget about the food just watch the surfers and whales in the sea - stunning!

The food was cold! The pasta sauce had formed a layer over it like it had been sitting for 15 minutes before it was brought to the table, and it tasted like instant powder sauce that hadn't been mixed properly.

Waited 1 & half our for food! <br/>Customers that arrived afterwards got their food before my table.<br/>The manager's reply was they were very busy. My argument is if one has a certain amount of tables one should serve their food within at least 30 minutes...

The food was tasty and is definately value for money. The place had a friendly vibe and a nice view of the ocean. An altogether enjoyable experience.

Always good food, good vibe, great view and sometimes a whale spotting!
