Top class restaurant with excellent food. The menu caters for various size wallets. Worthwhile to visit. Gin tasting and gin making right next door.

Amazing service, atmosphere and fantastic service. I have dined at some of the best SA has to offer and this is right up there. The sole was to die for and our waiter Lindsay was sharp, attentive and welcoming. Cannot go wrong here

Interesting restaurant, smart interior, clientele a cross section - from very upmarket ladies doing lunch to families with children, all in beach wear. The atmosphere is friendly and professional. The food is simply outstanding. We had the crayfish and fish platter for one. The delicate flavours were a delight to the palette. Try their delicious selection of gins, made on the premises. All in all a great dining experience.

So touched by the experience of the staff at Cafe Gannet. We were staying at the hotel and popped into the restaurant for dessert. They so kindly accommodated my food intolerance by baking me GF brownies, the kindest gesture. Thank you cafe gannet for the wonderful, kind service.

Beautiful cozy interior. We managed to only get seating outside as everything was fully booked. They provide blankets in winter, no heater though. Pasta and seafood dishes were good. Salmon pasta was quite mediocre though. The waiter was extremely helpful and friendly. I’d return to try other dishes.

Hadn't booked but was recommended. Great service, I had the mussles to start, portion was on the small side. But left plenty of room for the fish plater for one - which was excellent. Finished off with a chocolate brownie, which was lovely and warm.

What a wonderful dining experience. The service is great from the moment you walk in. The food is visually appetizing and quite satisfying to the palate. We had a great time.

Recent visit.. June 11...fantastic food!! I am editing my review of a month ago. We returned to the Gannet and were pleased with our meal. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. Back to the good 'ol Gannet

What was there not to love? We were served by a most humble waiter called Jared. He really is an asset to this establishment. Food was excellent...the best prawns and calamari I ever tasted. Decor on point...view of the ocean to die for. Everything was perfect. Will definitely return.

What a great experience, staff was so friendly and always smiling. Food and drinks came to the table very quickly and was 5star quality. Everything was seasoned exceptional well and was so delicious. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a great evening with excellent food.

Had delicious pizza. Went for the blue cheese pizza, first time in my life. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Was also surprised to find out pizza was on special. What a bargain. Jared was well informed waiter. Will definitely come back. Loved the outside area and design. Also a nice view

This was probably one of the best nights out ever. The food was extraordinary and the service was on point.

���� I am never speechless but Cafe Gannett had managed to make me wordless. The service was absolutely amazing, thanks to the awesome Tim who welcomed us like Royalty and and handed us to Riaan who was great throughout the night, ending of with JC who was great too. On our annual visit to Cafe Gannet last night we were extremely disappointed. Our evening started with a trainee waiter greeting us at the door, with no words and wide eyes, like a deer caught in headlights. We waited 5-10minutes before we were shown to our reserved table. Our waiter was cleary overwhelmed with the amount of tables he had. Once seated, all the tables around us received a basket of bread rolls, which we never received. We waited 45minutes for a 3piece salmon rose, after which I stated it could be brought to the table 3times as it was standing on the counter, waiting. My mother order red cuppacinos throughout the night, all of which was cold. Our main meals came out so far dispersed from one another that once we could all eat together, the meals that arrived first were already cold. One of the people on our table order a glass of wine, he also stood up after 20minutes to go and ask for it again. We went on to order deserts and coffees, the wait was once again 45minutes and our coffees were cold, once again. We asked for sweetner with our coffees and waited 8minutes before standing up and getting it ourselves. We spent exactly 4hours there due to the slow and poor service and none of which a manager present. For the first time in many years and visits we felt like our service was extremely poor and was not our money’s worth- and this for a table of 6!

We have family visiting from Namibia and we took them to Gannet for lunch. Even though it was in season during lunchtime, the food was wonderful and the service from our waiter Nadia was A+,and our guests had a wonderful time. You guys rock!!!!!!!

What a gem of a restaurant.. Mossel Bay secret... This restaurant is fantastic.. The staff are wonderful especially ce biso...she is delightful and her service is brilliant.. The food is beyond delicious.. The fish was amazing.. Never had such fantastic fish before... Best ever.... The whole experience was fantastic.. Can't wait to go back

Food & Service was 5 star. Nothing better than fresh fish. I had delish Sole with Vegetable Stirfry. Authentic Cape Malay Lamb Curry was divine too.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon with a friend and were pleasantly surprised with the lovely & tasty food, the venue setup and the friendly staff! The best in Mossel Bay this festive season! We'll definitely be back soon.

Restaurant is grand and awesome. 100% for service as food. What we don't understand is why the cocktail bar outside has mess it all up with the rubbish clubbing music it plays far to loud. This has been our experience every time we visit. The bartenders can not here you when you order your drinks. When I look around me, I only see mature guests, paying good money for the view, surrounds and an ambiance. Who manages this bar?

The restaurant staff was very slow to seat us walking in without any assistance. The deserts could have been tastier, we had two, well presented but the taste was very average. The waitress wasn’t adequate to answer questions asked. The sushi was well prepared and attractively presented. The daily specials can have the pricing added to it on their display so that the guest can know what would be a good option.

Gourmet food served in a beautiful setting. Cafe Gannet is so much more than just a restaurant. Make no mistake, the al la carte meals are absolutely fantastic but it also offers buffet style choices on Sundays, a bar with a view to die for, gin making courses, many events, etc. Possibly the only thing that can improve is the service which can do with a touch of class /professionalism.......to match the restaurant’s overall look & feel.

Waiter was rushed and overworked. Need someone to bus empty plates, perhaps. Salad was poorly arranged on side of plate. Had to request salad dressing. For the price it could have been dressed or arrived with a dressing. Obviously can be a classy act on the day, but this day wasn't worth it.

We had such a nice evening here. Great service, great food, good drinks. Hubby had steak while I enjoyed some sushi and we were both more than happy with our meal. Can highly recommend his place for a beautiful evening with your better half or the whole family.

Great food Great place and they do have waiters which is capable of handling the busy holiday makers. All the food is prepared well. Not your typical grillers they have proper chefs. A little bit pricy but the food is so great that you looked past that

Oh and the food, of course, was divine, was fantastic, was indulgent. There are so many words to describe the amazing food. You will definitely not be sorry to eat seafood at Cafe Gannet. Just awesome.<br/>The atmosphere is great, Cafe Gannet is actually quite fancy, but you can't see that from the outside, they are a little hidden with their brick walls and native fishing decorations. But once inside it all changes, you actually forget that you are in Mossel Bay.The service was good, our waitress kept us informed of the status of our food and was there when we needed her.<br/>The one thing that bothered us a lot was that we informed them that it was a special evening, a birthday. We told them when we made the reservations, we told them when we phoned to check the reservation on the day and we told the waiter as we sat down. She even thanked us for informing her. We arrived at Gannet the day after Valentine's Day expecting we would not need a reservation. Unfortunately they were fully booked and we were put on a waiting list, after 30 minutes a table was already available (in the meantime we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar (with sea view)). The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, the food was perfect. The service was very good and fast!

Rather expensive for the value you get from your food and drinks, but fantastic presentation of the food and very tasty. The Blissfull Seaview makes up for the lack of anything else. However, will return as the vibe is modern and contemporary.

We love spoiling ourselves at this restaurant. The parentals always get the kingklip parcel and I love the Indian hake. But last night was less fun. We had a very friendly but inexperienced waiter and we needed the floor manager to step in. She basically ran away from us twice and we couldn't find her. We had to fix some problems ourselves....no cutlery, no salt&pepper, no bread.... The food was delicious but the floor manager let the kitchen down last night.

We had a very average experience there today which makes cafe garnett very forgettable. After being seated no one offered us drinks for 10mins. Eventually we ordered the hake and calamari combo and it was very disappointing for R155. Soggy batter, 5 oily calamari strips and a blob of mayonnaise. After we were served by 3 different waiters we were left a little bit frustrated at what is an undoubtedly beautiful venue but with little guidance from management.

Had a brilliant time here. Staff is friendly, food is amazing and the atmosphere is even better! I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Mosselbay!

One of the better restaurants in mosselbay with a beautiful view of the ocean. The food is tasty and well prepared although there is room for improvement in the service department. <br/><br/>A seemingly nice feature at this reataurant is the outside bar. It creates a night life experience but the bar men are rude, abrupt and sly. They tried to charge us for drinks that we didn't want and the drinks that we did want weren't properly prepared. They use pre-mixed cocktail mixes that they put in a blender with some ice and serve as authentic creations. Yuk! 😯

So it's got one of the best views, and the staff were friendly enough, but wow, these prices, we had the sushi, and thankfully I had my father here to sponsor the trip, but, to their credit, it is very much an up market restaurant, perfect for any fine dining outing, the view is stunning and the food quality is decent, and the staff are professional, however I don't recommend coming here on a student budget or if you don't plan on spending more than a pretty penny

My first choice restaurant in Mossel Bay. Sadly pork belly is no more on the menu. The rest of the menu is superb with varieties and tastes to please the most concerning.

While I was about to leave Mossel Bay, I happened to stop by this little shop looking for some dessert.<br/><br/>I noticed they had cheesecake on the shelf which the nice lady told me was a day old. The cake still looked and smelled good so I went ahead and bought a slice. The cake was creamy and the portion was generous. The base however was too hard and sugary for my taste. I have definitely had better cheesecakes and it being a small bakery/cafe I had higher expectations.<br/><br/>Overall the cream part was good.

Probably the best of Mossel bay food ranges from ok to good. Service is a bit slow but probably this is due to the season.Pricy for what you got. Looking for a nice restaurant in Mossel Bay, this is my all time favourite! With an exceptional view of Santos Beach this makes for a great breakfast, lunch or dinner spot. Service is good and food is of great quality, well presented and absolutely delicious! No restaurant in town even comes close! Bit pricey though, but worth every cent!

Great atmosphere but the food is sometimes not on par with the price.
