What was there not to love? We were served by a most humble waiter called Jared. He really is an asset to this establishment. Food was excellent...the best prawns and calamari I ever tasted. Decor on point...view of the ocean to die for. Everything was perfect. Will definitely return.
What a great experience, staff was so friendly and always smiling. Food and drinks came to the table very quickly and was 5star quality. Everything was seasoned exceptional well and was so delicious. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a great evening with excellent food.

The service was absolutely amazing, thanks to the awesome Tim who welcomed us like Royalty and and handed us to Riaan who was great throughout the night, ending of with JC who was great too.
The food was EXQUISITE, absolutely divine. The place is beautiful, the ambience is fantastic.

We have family visiting from Namibia and we took them to Gannet for lunch. Even though it was in season during lunchtime, the food was wonderful and the service from our waiter Nadia was A+,and our guests had a wonderful time. You guys rock!!!!!!!

What a gem of a restaurant.. Mossel Bay secret... This restaurant is fantastic.. The staff are wonderful especially ce biso...she is delightful and her service is brilliant.. The food is beyond delicious.. The fish was amazing.. Never had such fantastic fish before... Best ever.... The whole experience was fantastic.. Can't wait to go back

Amarula cheesecake is to die for. Black mushroom appetiser is delicious and the sauce is just superb. Must try place.
Food & Service was 5 star. Nothing better than fresh fish. I had delish Sole with Vegetable Stirfry. Authentic Cape Malay Lamb Curry was divine too.
We enjoyed a lovely afternoon with a friend and were pleasantly surprised with the lovely & tasty food, the venue setup and the friendly staff! The best in Mossel Bay this festive season! We'll definitely be back soon.

What we don't understand is why the cocktail bar outside has mess it all up with the rubbish clubbing music it plays far to loud. This has been our experience every time we visit. The bartenders can not here you when you order your drinks. When I look around me, I only see mature guests, paying good money for the view, surrounds and an ambiance. Who manages this bar?
Gourmet food served in a beautiful setting. Cafe Gannet is so much more than just a restaurant. Make no mistake, the al la carte meals are absolutely fantastic but it also offers buffet style choices on Sundays, a bar with a view to die for, gin making courses, many events, etc. Possibly the only thing that can improve is the service which can do with a touch of class /professionalism.......to match the restaurant’s overall look & feel.

We had such a nice evening here. Great service, great food, good drinks. Hubby had steak while I enjoyed some sushi and we were both more than happy with our meal. Can highly recommend his place for a beautiful evening with your better half or the whole family.
Great food Great place and they do have waiters which is capable of handling the busy holiday makers. All the food is prepared well. Not your typical grillers they have proper chefs. A little bit pricy but the food is so great that you looked past that

Wonderful gem hidden in Mossel Bay
Let us start with the food and drinks. The have a great drinks selection, all kinds of different wines and proper cocktails too. Oh and the food, of course, was divine, was fantastic, was indulgent. There are so many words to describe the amazing food. You will definitely not be sorry to eat seafood at Cafe Gannet. Just awesome.
The atmosphere is great, Cafe Gannet is actually quite fancy, but you can't see that from the outside, they are a little hidden with their brick walls and native fishing decorations. But once inside it all changes, you actually forget that you are in Mossel Bay.The service was good, our waitress kept us informed of the status of our food and was there when we needed her.
The one thing that bothered us a lot was that we informed them that it was a special evening, a birthday. We told them when we made the reservations, we told them when we phoned to check the reservation on the day and we told the waiter as we sat down. She even thanked us for informing her. That is as far as it went. No special birthday anything. We were quite disappointed about it.Other than that it was a great evening.

We arrived at Gannet the day after Valentine's Day expecting we would not need a reservation. Unfortunately they were fully booked and we were put on a waiting list, after 30 minutes a table was already available (in the meantime we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar (with sea view)). The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, the food was perfect. The service was very good and fast!
Rather expensive for the value you get from your food and drinks, but fantastic presentation of the food and very tasty. The Blissfull Seaview makes up for the lack of anything else. However, will return as the vibe is modern and contemporary.

One of the better restaurants in mosselbay with a beautiful view of the ocean. The food is tasty and well prepared although there is room for improvement in the service department.
A seemingly nice feature at this reataurant is the outside bar. It creates a night life experience but the bar men are rude, abrupt and sly. They tried to charge us for drinks that we didn't want and the drinks that we did want weren't properly prepared. They use pre-mixed cocktail mixes that they put in a blender with some ice and serve as authentic creations. Yuk! 😯
My first choice restaurant in Mossel Bay. Sadly pork belly is no more on the menu. The rest of the menu is superb with varieties and tastes to please the most concerning.
Probably the best of Mossel bay food ranges from ok to good. Service is a bit slow but probably this is due to the season.Pricy for what you got. Great view of Santos.

Pleasent meel of line fish- good, lamb curry- good, however service was poor and we needed to remind them to bring parts of the order.
Looking for a nice restaurant in Mossel Bay, this is my all time favourite! With an exceptional view of Santos Beach this makes for a great breakfast, lunch or dinner spot. Service is good and food is of great quality, well presented and absolutely delicious! No restaurant in town even comes close! Bit pricey though, but worth every cent!
Top class restaurant with excellent food. The menu caters for various size wallets. Worthwhile to visit. Gin tasting and gin making right next door.
Amazing service, atmosphere and fantastic service. I have dined at some of the best SA has to offer and this is right up there. The sole was to die for and our waiter Lindsay was sharp, attentive and welcoming. Cannot go wrong here

Interesting restaurant, smart interior, clientele a cross section - from very upmarket ladies doing lunch to families with children, all in beach wear. The atmosphere is friendly and professional. The food is simply outstanding. We had the crayfish and fish platter for one. The delicate flavours were a delight to the palette. Try their delicious selection of gins, made on the premises. All in all a great dining experience.

So touched by the experience of the staff at Cafe Gannet. We were staying at the hotel and popped into the restaurant for dessert. They so kindly accommodated my food intolerance by baking me GF brownies, the kindest gesture. Thank you cafe gannet for the wonderful, kind service.

Beautiful cozy interior. We managed to only get seating outside as everything was fully booked. They provide blankets in winter, no heater though.
Pasta and seafood dishes were good. Salmon pasta was quite mediocre though. The waiter was extremely helpful and friendly.

Hadn't booked but was recommended. Great service, I had the mussles to start, portion was on the small side. But left plenty of room for the fish plater for one - which was excellent. Finished off with a chocolate brownie, which was lovely and warm.
What a wonderful dining experience. The service is great from the moment you walk in. The food is visually appetizing and quite satisfying to the palate. We had a great time.
