Review Hollywood Bunny Bar - Morningside

Awesome vibe with good people and staff. Service is a bit slow when serving customers for their meal so this has to improve as customers don't like waiting to be served. Other than that no issues. Bunnies are delicious and soji as well .

Food is always great. Bunny chows and sojee are super tasty at low prices. Alcohol prices are super low too. Good sevice

By far the best bunny chow in terms of quality and taste. Highly recommend visiting and ordering the lamb bunny (pictured). I would also recommend their soji. Perfect 10/10, will definitely go again.

Great place to enjoy a good meal. Food was good 👍 Well worth it . Don't do a take away, you have to sit there and enjoy it

Best Bunnie chows in Durban. Great food and setup. You can take the kids to eat separate space away from the gamblers. Separate smoking area. Staff are very friendly.

Wow... we tried the mutton bunny on special...three quarters and one litre coke .....was value for money...was amazed with the filling....sufficient curry (lamb)...highly recommended

Vibey pub atmosphere with the most flavoursome bunnychows, curries, breyani & rotti to name a few...... Daily food specials @ aforable prices. A must try when visiting Durban

Went after about a year for the Durban Hollywood July and was a great experience. Had lunch ...was recommended to try their fish breyani and my goodness...this was such a scrumptious dish ...and a single serving can feed atleast 3 adults. Very generous potions and delicious. Well done.

We had a delicious bunnychow in their restaurant. Good service and nice food. I am not a fan of betting but the place is also cossy to hang around

The most amazing place to have a bunny chow and the service is excellent. The check on you to see that your experience is of a good one and treat you as a friend. I love to come to this place everytime.

Amazing Bunny chows that are good value for money and taste divine. Also the samosas are delicious, and probably everything else at the bunny bar too! Nice place and great overall vibe. Will definitely return.

The mutton bunny was reasonably tasty. Huge 1/4's so go with an appetite. The tables are not very clean... The staff kind of rush.. Too get diners seated and there's a waiting period of 20 minutes for a meal...The atmosphere is good but it's all about the food
Clemence Malliya
Very good atmosphere especially if you are a punter. Food is good. Good menu available. Friendly staff. More than enough parking

Used to be the best bunny in Durban. The broad beans was over cooked. Curry was loaded with food colouring. Whilst this was my goto place for a bunny in Durban, it is now the worst place to eat a bunny.

Stopped eating here a while ago. Both their Springfield outlets have really disappointed me. Hollywood used to be known for their top bunny chows. They food is never consistent. Guess they too busy to care anymore.

Hollywood is perfect for those mutton bunny cravings! It never disappoints! This was probably my fourth time here and the mutton bunny was, as always, filled with meat and potatoes and the scrumptious gravy was not in the least bit lacking. I also ordered sides of sambals and vinegar chillies. The vibe is relaxed, with tables and chairs and slot machines all around. and after going there you will understand why this place is so popular.

We drove all the way from the city center to Morningside so that I could sample what is allegedly one if the best bunnies in Durban.

It was good. Not the best but good. I wouldn’t make that trip again but I would stop by if I’m in the area.

For the best bunny chow in the town. The bunnies were lip smacking . They were indeed scrumptious and flavourful.
Quick service and friendly staffs.

Tried this place out as it was one of the only places that we hadn’t had a bunny chow from.. was sadly disappointed 😞 more water and oil than actual gravy and not much flavour whatsoever. Service was fine though

Tried both their mutton curry and rice as well as mutton bunny a few times and found it had more oil than gravy. Service is promt and staff are competent.

Probably one of the best bunny places in dbn. The bunny never fails to please. Menu says lamb bunny but I’m pretty sure it is mutton. Service can be a bit slow but all in all the bunny Is a winner.

The food outlet in Springfield retail Centre lacks customer service. 1cashier with the rest of the staff conversing between themselves Very unprofessional.

This was how I remember the bunny chow (I haven’t had one in 18 years). Beautiful mutton bunny with loads of gravy to soak into the bread as it should. This was a highlight of my trip. Highly recommend.

The place is nice.. Decent. The bunny chow is tasty. The staff not so friendly. They do not offer the best service if you're black. The place is a nice hideout Dee Miss-Understood Thusi

We went to the new Bunny bar. It was not busy. We ordered 4 breakfasts. We waited an hour. After an 1 hour ,Only 3 orders to be brought to the table. After enquiring 3 times about the 4th order. It took another 20 minutes for it to be brought to the table. No one even bother to come to ask if everything was ok or Why we where waiting so long. And there is NO baby/toddler feeding chairs.

Still the best Mutton bunny in Durban...consistency has been a problem over the past few years...i have had a '90% oil bunny', a 'couchy meat bunny' and a 'lack of meat bunny' over the past 3 years at Hollywood. However a pleasant suprise awaited me this December in Durban, thanks to the tasty mutton bunny that i devoured there..meat was soft and fresh, gravy was tasty, bread was fresh, tatoes were at gravy soaking levels and oil levels were acceptable...it was a good old school Hollywood bunny that was once classified as the best Durban had to offer when it came on to the bunny scene. Seating is still a problem due to the crowds that flock there to kill their bunny cravings...and you sometimes have to deal with people queueing beside your table while amidst a bunny attack session. The chicken bunny on the other hand lacked unique great taste and contained oil well over an acceptable level..however it still gets my choice as the best Mutton Bunny in Durban currently!

Service was on the ball, had the quarter mutton bunny, flavour was excellent, however it was warm and not piping hot, careful when having it as there are many sharp bones in it. Meat however was lovely and better than many other places I've visited in Durban. Give it a shot.

The mutton bunny is my favourite from Hollywood. The curry is spicy - which I love - and the Hollywood team is generous with the gravy - which is another plus!

So I'm saying that it is not necessarily the best Bunny around but rather the most consistent. As a Durban resident I know that I can will always rely on Hollywood to get that Bunny craving of my back. The staff are always friendly. The waiting time is not too long(in the restaurant only).I recommend that you stay away from the take away side of things as bunnies are not really a take away meal and one would not catch the full Hollywood bunny experience. Parking & seating can be problem at times (during lunch mainly) so get there at 11:30 to be safe.

The best bunny in Durban. Don't go there looking for the most scenic view or best waitron because you will be disappointed. This place is just about the food, and boy is it good. The portion is extremely generous and my chicken bunny came with a lot of extra gravy, and was also packed with chicken pieces. I ordered extra sambals (tomato & onion) but the carrot salad on the side was also a generous portion. We were there over lunch time and the place was packed with locals. I would drive to Durban for this bunny!

Quick review! Hollywood is where you can find the BEST bunnies in Durban... I had the lamb bunny, the meat was soft and the curry and condiments were delicious!

➕ Amazing food all the time! Dependable place to get an awesome bunny... I've tried their other bunnies, but the lamb bunny is still my favourite.

➕ Like the ambiance

➕ AMAZING LAMB BUNNY (a must have when you're in Durban)

🤔 Don't like the sometimes lackluster service (when it's very busy), but it's understandable considering how busy it is all the time

➖ Don't like that sometimes the mutton bunnies have too much oil and the potatoes are hard

To summarise, if you want the best local authentic Durban cuisine; you'll definitely find it at Hollywood Bunny Bar.

The quality has dropped, its really sad but it had. Hollywood was known for the top bunnies yet when i went recently the bread tasted as though it was frozen and reused. The curry didmt taste like much either. Disappointing...

In my opinion, thee number one bunny chow in Durban! A must for anyone visiting Durban this festive season, as well as a local staple!

The mutton bunny has just the right amount of spice, heat and the right amount of oilyness one may look for in a bunny chow! I personally can't have a bunny without the really refreshing and crunchy carrot salad.

Authentic indian food set in a relaxed deck area. Bunnies are tasty and packed with flavour. Servings of meat pieces in the curries are generous and are always well cooked and not too boney. The bunny bread is soft and fresh. It gets really busy around lunch time so parking is madness and the deck area does become over crowded. Waiters are friendly however need constant reminding to clean up before a sit down.

Amazing value for money!!!

As starters, we had the sweetcorn and mince samoosas. The samoosas were delicious.

We had the beans and mutton curry bunnies. The curries were hot and spicy. The bunnies certainly impressed us! Possibly the best bunnies in town.

Our waitress was a pleasant young lady and service was relatively efficient.

The meals were well priced. We will definitely be back!

When in durban, this is a tote that serves some of the best bunny chows. We usually opt for take away and the added gravy bowl allows you not to miss the curry drenching gravy experience as per sit in. I always pop in when in town.

Best curry in KZN. Bunny chow is the absolute bom. Secure parking and very safe. Curry not hot and child friendly. If you n the area it is a must.

This used to be the spot for consistently good food however it was terrible this week.

Ordered a mutton bunny chow and the meat was tough and overly spicy

Thankfully there are many other options available in Durban so goodbye Hollywood's

Ah... The best bunnies in South Africa, such great taste and presentation, will not leave Durban without a Hollywood bunny. Super delicious.

We had a great family lunch at Hollywood this past Sunday.

We tried the chicken bunny, mutton bunny, roti and prawns chutney. Everyone was pleased with their meals as it was delicious.

The service was good and very quick.

The seating is informal and a little uncomfortable but worth bearing for the lovely food.

Still one of the best bunny places in Dbn! Very busy as usual, waited a while for a table but the 19 minute wait was totally worth it! The lunchtime vibe is really awesome! Ppl all over the place! Definitely a must visit for anyone in Dbn as well as anyone visiting!
