We were there twice. I highly recommend Mitchell's Pub & Grill.

Our waiter Lionel was tops. The Mitchell's breakfast was absolutely delicious 😋 and cooked to perfection. We dined on the deck overlooking the main road and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Can definitely recommend Mitchell's Pub & Grub as a place to visit
Ambience was exactly what we expected from a pub. Nice and cosy with a fireplace.
Food was ok, but not great. Fresh roasted vegetables with my meal instead of frozen veg would have been much better.

We love Mitchells for the cheap and cheerful vibe. We will often sneak a working lunch and carafe of wine in the week, especially when the Chicken Cordon bleu is on special. Kids love the chicken strips and chips. If not for food, pop in for a drink and meet the many local regulars!
We watched the rugby here and had a great time. Food was lekker and drinks were affordable. The TVs were a bit small, but we luckily got a seat close by.
Locals favourite pub, always welcoming. Food is wonderful and drinks even better.
Lunchtime so a bit of liquid refreshments required. Pleasant hour sat outside with family.

After checking out all the restaurants in the centre of Montagu, we decided to go into Mitchell’s after walking past a few times. SO happy that we did as they blew the other restaurants out the water with their friendly wait staff & barman. Good pub food and just a lovely vibe in the small town.

In September 2022 we visited Mitchell's Pub & Grill for the first time. I couldn't believe that we haven't been to this little gem before. Staff is very friendly and service is fast. Delicious and generous Pub meals are available. I had a cheese burger, simple but so delicious. But it is actually the atmosphere which makes Mitchell's so warm and cosy. They even lighted the fireplace for us which was perfect on a cold night in the first week of September. Will definitely recommend 10/10.

The epitome of the "country living"-experience. Here you'll enjoy splendid service, great music, delicious meals, ice cold beer, and unforgettable banter. Magnificent mountains and a quaint Victorian-vernacular serves as the backdrop to an experience you'll surely be hard-pressed to beat in and around Montagu! On a crisp autumn evening, the warmth of the hearth and hospitality alike could charm the senses, albeit a second, yet just enough to feel as though you're right at home.
We enjoyed the local food, enjoyed company of the staff and other visitors. We watched the rugby match for which there were enough TV 's to not miss a thing! Will make sure to visit on our return to Montagu again!
