Review Kauai Canal Walk - Milnerton

The shop was very busy with most sitting with a coffee rather than at a table with a meal. There was a definately sense of urgency with staff and all were extremely friendly and attentive. As we stood up a staff member was immediately there to take our plate and wipe down the table. Very impressive sevice and neat and clean business, well done, we shall be back.

I am no pro at smoothies so I play it safe, I order the Berry dairy or the Strawberry stinger in the large. It literally keeps me satisfied for 6 hours. Amazing staff.

What a refreshing change!!! Not just the delicious smoothies...but also the service and quality of food!! I frequent the various Kauais' in Johannesburg, and I am always left either disgusted or disappointed. The restaurant was clean, the staff were friendly and the food was absolutely divine. The new menu really has included a variety of flavors making food for minorities so much more appealing. Overall, this has definitely been a wonderful experience and I would 100% recommend it!!

Went to Kauai for lunch. Had a great time. You order what you want from the counter and then they bring it to you if you sitting down. I had the butta chicken bowl. Simply one of my favourite meals at Kauai and a healthy alternative. The food was great and the hot chocolate was good. Service was good and they have a nice seating area. I think they should try to wipe the seating areas down a bit more but otherwise lovely experience.

Enjoy the increased options with new additions to the menu. The spicy burrito with a strawberry stinger smoothie is one of my favourites. I enjoy the burger additions to the menu. There's soup now too. The prices have increased recently but I suppose that's everywhere 😕 Today's chimichurri steak wrap wasn't very tender but most of the time it's 👍🏽

......Nice clean place, staff is always friendlii when we visit here! As we seem to be visiting them more regular-lii to redeem our Discovery-Drive voucher's! The Anti-oxidant smoothie is always great.....They have many good health-ii snacks here on offer!........they are very busy between 13:00 & 14:00 most days! But we just go browsing around the many new shops that have sprung up and then come back after 14:00 to sit-down to enjoy the health-ii-licious Prince Wraps which is stuffed full of tender beef-cubes, feta, avocado & fresh taste-tii carrots & lettuce with the New “Milk-tart smoothie which tastes like Christmas in a cup! This establishment is real-lii growing on us....they even have a kiddies menu because they profess that “healthy kids are happy kids” how cool is that!....Aug. 2019....Trying the Very New Mexi-Fresh and its not bad at all!.....18 Aug 2019....Wraps-Dinner night

A well run Kauai store, one of the best in terms of staff and quality of food. Ample seating in an environment that has been recently revamped.

Quick service, but wraps were dry and definitely portion size is smaller. The Quesidilla for R110 had 6 small cubes if meat

The service was quick and efficient. The smoothies were good.

The smoothies here are always tasty and refreshing. Food is also flavourful, but some of the portion sizes are what I'd consider small. This makes sense for a health focused restaurant. Docked stars because it can take a long time to get your order. I had to wait 12 minutes for my smoothie. There was only one other order ahead of me at the time.

Thanks to FNB, I get my fix now and again with a free smoothie! I must add that the Peanut butter bomb smoothie is something else 👍

Walking into Kauai and getting greeted by friendly staff really one feel like a valued customer. I like the fact that the service is always efficient. I had the chipotle wrap, my fiancé had a warm bowl. Needless to say the food, ambience was top notch. 10/10 for me!

Staff was great. Service was great. Princess wrap was great. Cuppincino was great. Atmosphere was great. Cockroach running across my table, not so great.

Kauai is never my first choice when I’m peckish but today I craved something cold and healthy so I opted for a peanut berry smoothie. It’s sugar and dairy free and a vivacious purple colour. The peanut butter taste is definitely the first thing that hits you but isn’t too overwhelming. I enjoyed the consistency and at R38 for a small version, it’s worth it the money.

The most delicious and wholesome wraps I've ever had at a restaurant. Just love their warm indie bowl aswell. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Their wraps are very fresh, well prepared and big portions. Their smoothies are to die for. Kauai is always a winner choice, especially if you are on the go and want to try something healthy rather then takeaways

The food was decent but I was disappointed with the service. We asked for a sit down meal and we were given a table number and sat down. We had to go and fetch our smoothies and our meal at the counter out into a paper bag as if for a takeaway. Everyone else was served with boards and plates and cutlery. This was not a good experience. I think we will be back but only if we have a voucher again.

Come here quite often with my husband especially after workouts/runs. Generally don’t wait too long and the wraps are consistently good. I must say, the last time I was here, (and the reason for my 3 star rating) I ordered poached eggs and toast. I received “hard boiled” poached eggs which were chalky and gross. I didn’t complain at the time as I was too hungry to wait for another meal. The toast meals in general are dry though. I would stick to the smoothies and wraps. Price wise it’s much more than your average fast food restaurant but you pay for the fresh, healthy ingredients used. Worth it, in my opinion.

The service at the Canal Walk Kauai is quite good and the nice part about it is that it is away from the hustle and bustle of the Food Court.<br/><br/>Definitely a great choice if you looking for a healthy meal in Century City.<br/><br/>If you are a Discovery Vitality member you can also redeem your coupons here.

Not a fantastic branch , pity that the service, loud staff and incorrect meals are a downfall for Kauai. Not to mention that take away meals are half the size than the original sit down meals are. As a Kauai fan and regular customer I feel that this branch could do with some attention

Sad to say Kauai is not quite what it use to be. The food is still healthy but the food and smoothies are way over-priced! Service a little slow at Century City.

I like to pop in here for a smoothie while shopping. The smoothies at this branch taste fruity and fresh. My favourites are the two berry options, i.e berry dairy and strawberry stinger. The thing that lets this place down is the service. You wait ages to be served and the staff generally seem pretty disinterested. <br/><br/>

The food is,always healthy, nutritious and delicious. Whilst the service is always very slow. As this restaurant is located in a busy mall, perhaps best they have more staff on each shift. One waits very long for your order and they are on the pricey side. :-(

Had the new Spicy Burrito wrap, and it fulfilled every expectation I had, I couldn’t get enough of this wrap & even though it was filled with Jalapeño & Chilli flakes it had an amazing flavor. Definitely a good new addition

Worst shakes I've ever tasted, the whey shake was terrible still had ice blocks in it and just tasted like milk 42 rand for blended milk!!!!

I personally really love when food is presented well and with fresh foods and ingredients there are so many options at hand , this lovely place offers the most fresh ingredients presented so perfectly its as if i was too scared to ruin the beautiful presentation ! But it was looking so great i had to indulge and my fav part was that it tasted as good as it looked ! 👌🏻

Recently sat down to have a mango smoothie and a princess wrap. Which in my opinion are the two best tasting items on the menu. Really enjoyed it, has plugs to charge your laptops and service is quick and efficient. Very clean also I must add.

Service isn't great at Kauai, not sure anybody really cares either. Nonetheless, tried the Chipotle Steak salad. The southwest sauce is super spicy ! But adds a nice twang to the salad. The steak is juicy and delicious. I added feta to my salad and I must say they added a very very little, which was disappointing. Trying extra hard to be healthy over here, I wonder if that sauce was healthy or completely took away from my salad 🤔

Never again. The service is always terrible 5 minutes for a drink and 25 minutes for food. I ordered a chai latte it's never mixed correctly but rather lumpy which means I had to ask for a spoon to mix it myself. I love the tygervalley branch but this one is a epic fail for me.

Definitely not the best branch in Cape Town. I order the same thing every time I visit any Kauai and for some reason the Rondebosch and Kenilworth branches do a much better job than this branch. I even gave it a second chance and asked the lady to make sure the order is done correctly and she just brashly shouted the total. Will not be returning to Canal Walk branch, unless there is a significant change made.

They're often busy but their staff are always friendly and efficient. Kauai is a leading health restaurant in South Africa. Their wraps are great tasting and their smoothies are deluxe.

Did not have a great experience here. Smoothies took very long to make and at the end we realised that out of a simple order of three smoothies, we only got two, of which only one was correct as ordered. Ok, I should have checked the slip bit one does not expect an order to be misunderstood so badly. While waiting for the third drink, I noticed a fair amount of confusion with other people's orders. <br/>I know their shifts are quite long, but the staff need to you their game here.

Service can really make or break your experience at a restaurant. <br/><br/>I was at Kauai a few weeks ago for a light snack. I went to place my order and I was attended to by the most unprofessional waitress. I tried not to let her bug me. I handed her my phone with the app prior to paying and she let the payment go through without adding my smoothie points. She then went on to blame ME for it. She didn't even try to ask someone to help, she had this couldnt-be-bothered attitude. Thanks, but no thanks. <br/><br/>The wrap and the smoothie were delicious though 👍🏻

Got the coffee date smoothie today with my birthday voucher off the Kauai app. It was very nice and filling and sustained me for the rest of my shopping trip. Took a bit longer than usual for them to make but it was good so I'll look past that.

We love Kauai. Got ourselves a vitamin cee and coco mango smoothie and two princess wraps. Always tastes fresh and healthy and the service is very friendly.

Nice and big Kauai near the food court. The standard good service as most Kauai's give. I had the nut milk and the Thai Crunch Wrap always a winner. What I particularly enjoyed about this branch was the fact that at lunchtime when it is packed they have a very efficient system in place and orders are given in a great timeframe ;) Good job staff - helped with a smile and service is shown to be a top trait for them. <br/><br/>Keep up the great work! Food and smoothies typically great as per the Kauai norm, but service appalling...<br/><br/>Trying to order, was interrupted 3x by the lady taking the order who was having a conversation with her colleague...<br/><br/>Food dumped on our table with no regard for customer satisfaction or any manners...<br/><br/>

This is probably my favourite Kauai, I've always found the staff to be friendly and the service to be quick. Their portions are also pretty decent :)

I haven't been a fan of Kauai and I'm unfortunately still not... <br/><br/>I think the last time I had it was before they underwent their rebrand, so ages ago! Healthy food just really doesn't appeal to me - when I eat I want it to be memorable, tasty and fulfilling. <br/><br/>Nevertheless, I decided to try it one last time to see what I'm missing out on, and I can confirm - I'm missing out on nothing. <br/><br/>The salad I ordered was just too much in terms of the 3 cheese flavours, and I'm a lover of cheese! I also just found that it wasn't filling or anything amazing - even though it came highly recommended by the lady behind the counter. <br/><br/>Service was pretty slow. I waited about 30min for two salads and two smoothies. Granted they were pretty busy. <br/><br/>Overall their food looks great and I'm sure it tastes great to some people, but just not to me. That's not what I call food.

Had some smoothies and food (wraps) from this branch. We sat at a table, and it took over 7 minutes for anybody to come and clear the previous patron's leftovers and dishes away. Food arrived very shortly afterwards. Their wraps are fresh and tasty. Nothing to fault on them. So overall food and drinks are excellent but service needs improvements.

Good place to get a "healthy" meal. When I mean healthily I mean you'll feel like potato chips are a instrument of evil and Kale is stuff of angels. <br/><br/>Nothing gets me excited than a peanut butter bliss shake. Their wraps, wrap me love is and gluten free love.<br/><br/>I like that they have deals with Discovery Vitality, I can run all week just to get a shake at the end to fill me up. <br/><br/>So all that aside, the service is decent. My only real bothers is they take a bit of time to get stuff ready.

On a cold and wet winter day in Cape Town just popped in to the local Kauai for a quick bit of comfort food and sustenance before my next meeting. The Harvest soup always satisfies.

I am so happy that Kauai has reintroduced their Zucchini Soup! Honestly, one of the best ways to warm up a cold day. I am always happy with the friendly and efficient service from this specific branch, but on my most recent visit, it took about 12minutes to make one medium smoothie, with the restaurant not being that full. Maybe look into having more than one employee operating the blenders, to improve efficiency and customer service. But food is always fresh and I always leave feeling satisfied

The essential hit-and-run for a smoothie to make it through shopping at Canal Walk. Not always the quickest, but the smoothies are consistently good.

Kauai is a good little stop in between shopping! I like the new revamped look and menu (I do miss the snack wraps though). I stick to the princess wrap- always delicious. The number of juices to choose from is brilliant and for the cold flu months I must say the floo fighter is brilliant!

Always fast and friendly service. This is my go-to when I’m looking for something healthy and quick for lunch. Plus, their smoothies are the bomb. I can’t get enough of the nut milk smoothie. So delicious!

Im glad that they changed it again. The last change wasn't so good. There are more options now but the service is still slow.

Went here for smoothies; I had a green smoothie and it was so disappointing. My friend had the strawberry stinger and said it doesn't taste like it used to taste. Kauai is not the same anymore :(

Where is the owner where is the management, where is the clean tables and setted tables , dirty chairs dirty tables !!! Slow slow service !! Staff is spinning and don't know what's happening ! Running a business doesn't mean you set up a expensive venue and looks rich and neat !!! Looks good but empty in the heart !!! Avoid this branch waste of time and money And I am asking again where are YOU guys !!!?!!!

Stopped for breakfast whilst Christmas shopping. I tried the power oats however I was quite disappointed as the oats seemed almost raw as though they needed to be cooked slightly longer and the portion was quite tiny. The chai latte was alright, a bit weak.

I decided to try the new Kauai menu last night for supper and I had the mexi bowl. The portion is definitely smaller than the previous mexican steak bowl they had on offer and it can only be had with chicken now. I enjoyed it but I didn't feel it was worth the R75 price tag

I recently went to the "new and improved" Kauai and at first I didn't even recognize the once friendly, inviting, fresh and island style store. The new look reminded me of an upmarket sushi restaurant, which is not a compliment to the brand. Even the filter I used for my photos could not bring vibrancy and energy to the store- the staff was also lacking this in demeanor and service. I waited 20 minutes for 2 small smoothies, which baffled me seeing as there were several staff members in the kitchen. Their menu has also been reduced significantly with only 8 smoothies on the menu- I will give them some credit as the smoothie I had "the coffee date" was rather delicious. The store lacks variety - some of my favorite dishes and smoothies are no longer available which was the cherry on top of an inadequate experience.

Always love kuaui the best spot for smoothies. I will never say anything bad about them it's healthy and tasty and just down right delicious.

I love coming here for a quick bite. I really loved the date and nut muffins which they unfortunately don't make anymore. Please bring them back!!! The service is good however and there's not a long wait.

Had the Moroccan bowl,was nice and spicy , best way to kick start the morning. Well priced and generous helping,pity the pic showed beef but got chicken instead . But all good

Am a big fan of Kauai, I have been to more than ten of their outlets in the Western Cape. Great wraps and warm dishes(seasonal). My only issue is inconsistency of their smoothie at times and the size of their wraps. Apart from that you get good value for your money.

Was sad to hear that the ice chai latte smoothie has been taken off the menu. It's been my favour smoothie since I can remember. I had the steak with corn, salsa and brown rice recently, which is new on the menu, and it was delicious. It's a filling portion and fairly priced. Also enjoy the chicken curry that they make. Fresh, good quality, healthy food. Love it.
