So happy this Ocean Basket has baby chairs. We had a friendly waitress that was accurate with our orders. I like the new additions to the menu, it help keeps things fresh. The complimentary rolls are served warm & are a lovely filler as we waited for our starters. We tried the new seafood soup & papa's prawns, both made with a tasty sauce. The kids menu is well priced & has a fair amount of variety.

You can always expect the freshest food from Ocean Basket at Paddocks. Only thing is, I wish they haven’t removed their churros dessert from their menu.

Ocean basket Paddocks was exceptional. I have been going there for years and have never been disappointed. Service is very quick and staff are friendly. Recommend it for a good hearty meal.

Definitely my favourite Ocean basket, love their seafood, atmosphere and friendly staff. I'd recommend rather sit down and eat, don't do take away. The delicious butter sauce as takeaway is not nearly enough but when you sit down the amount is usually just right. It is also probably their prettiest branch, so just go for a sit down and eat.

Had an awesome lunch at Ocen Basket in the Paddocks Shopping Mall. The prawns were grilled just right, the chips were very good, and the service was excellent. The whole lunchtime experience was wonderful, and relaxing :)

Met the most delightful waiter named Sunny. Being vegetarian means I often eat 'sides' at alot of places so I ordered all the sides they have on their menu and the falafel (which is amazing). Expecting the usual 5 or 6 pans and having to ask for a plate.... I was absolutely blown away by what Sunny did. It has never been done before by any waiter no matter how fancy the restaurant. He brought all my food on a platter 😍😋 and remembered 'no onions' in my salad. For the first time ever I had all my sides on one plate!! Sunny gave us such stellar service and it was the last hour so really a wow experience for supper. No pics of my guys sushi and tuna. But here's a pic of what Sunny did for me😊

I don't eat fish and seafood. But went with my family,who enjoyed their meals. The first table we sat at had a very bad odour. Not just fish but something like a rotten dustbin. Once we moved tables it was a bit better. There was still the faint underlying bad smell. I give our server, Roger, a five as he was excellent and very professional. He treated us with care and seen to all our needs with a smile.

Our waitress, Vimbainashe was absolutely delightful, attentive and on the ball! Management is helpful and goes the extra mile. The food was delicious and fresh and quick. We will be back!!

Everything is always amazing. We from Kleinmond and still come to dine at THIS Ocean Basket. Today our waiter Nathan was amazing. Still nee to being a waiter BUT he’s like a pro. And so friendly, helpful and he makes you for sure feel like your home with your own butler. Thanks again today for a wonderful experience

Wonderful service and assistance. They stayed open longer after calling just to serve us. Food was excellent and the play area in the centre nearby is ideal for kids. Be sure to book the outside tables to get the most out of the play area. Really enjoyed the evening. The complimentary rolls before the meal were fresh and warm and the fish was wonderful.

The food was delicious! I had a Seafood Platter for 1, which had a wide variety. The calamari, especially, was perfect. A great atmosphere and excellent service. Our waiter, Roger, was friendly and quick to assist us with any requests. An overall enjoyable evening out. Thank You!

I enjoyed the ambiance but the music was a little too loud for me (maybe our seats were too close to the speakers, I didn't check nor comment to the waitron). Our waiter was really sweet, always smiling. The food was good too. would happily recommend people should visit

I must say reading all of the other reviews it's obvious you can't please all of the people all of the time. I don't like over attentive service and it can be a bit like that. However, l find the food to be very consistent and of very good quality. I have no complaints.

Best sushi in the area, I'm here virtually on a weekly basis for takeaway sushi. Fresh, tasty and never had an issue! I will always come back, thank you to the great staff at Ocean Basket Paddocks!

Food was excellent. It was quite early in the evening and the restaurant was rather empty so would like to go back when busy, to see if the service will be the same. Overall we had good service. Our waiter was very attentive.

I have only experienced good service and food at this restaurant. The meze platter is becoming smaller than usual but still very nice.

Food is always late whilst charging me the same price as sit-down customers. Incorrect orders after double checking. R6.90 per tiny roll. Do sit-down customers pay this? Why do I have to wait 45 minutes for take-away food, yet charged the same price as people that sit down and get their food in 15 minutes? Pathetic is all i can say. Fu*ken pathetic.

This is one of the nicest looking ocean basket restaurant that I have seen and the salmon roses were Heavenly and fresh I was highly impressed

This is a regular consistent sushi spot for me and my boyfriend. It's always quiet and the quality is always good and I think ocean basket have a winning menu. The service however doesn't reflect how busy they are it takes really long even though there are a few tables. My starter took 30 minutes to come and came 3min before the sushi platter. I think the food runner's are slightly too relaxed.

Ocean baskets should all be consistent sadly they are not. <br/><br/>I stopped in for the quick prawn and calamari combo Cajun style with creamed spinach and butternut. Food was serviced quickly however the waiter wasn't that on it. Had to call numerous times and also the manager ended up taking my plate collecting flies... <br/><br/>Food was bland and not that buttery norm everyone is accustomed to know! I don't think I would return...

Worst ocean basket I've ever been to. The service was terrible I must've waited an hour and a half for my meal and was not once offered drinks. The meal was below average and management was terrible. The staff were slow and seemed as though they weren't properly trained or couldn't handle all their tables. The food was cold and the staff struggled to find a bottle of tomato sauce. This is the worst Ocean basket I've ever been to and would not recommend it to anyone.<br/>The sushi is above average as well.... and that too was a long wait. We only got served the bread an hour and a half after arrival. <br/>In a nutshell, service sucked!

Probably serves the best buttered prawns in the world. Ocean Basket has the best value for money seafood dishes and platters I'm south Africa. Nice clean interiors and friendly staff. Blouberg branch has great location opposite the beach. We had 2 clamari & hake combos and I added prawns as well as a ocean pick dish with angel fish, prawns & calamari. Yum

Sushi was great but the grilled cajun calamari was boiled and never came near to being grilled. Table was broken and glass dirty. I think they must pay more attention to detail. Will be a while before I go back, if ever.

Last night we decided to go for some seafood at our local ocean basket. But rather than sitting there we wanted a takeaway to eat at home. This was our first time at ocean basket in paddocks centre and sadly despite the lovely restaurant, and friendly service we got home and found half our order missing. :-( I ordered fish and chips, generous portion with 2 fillets whilst the man ordered calamari with spinach and butternut. The latter two veggies were missing. There was also no serviettes nor tartare sauce in the bag. Too tired to drive back we did not bother to call the restaurant. However the grilled haloumi cheese was to die for! I'm sure we'll give it another try, next time dining in rather.

Last night the family and I visited Ocean Basket at the Paddocks center and had such a wonderful meal. Have previously disappointed at this branch, but can proudly say that they redeemed themselves completely. The service was great, we had a wonderful waitress, the food was hot and tasty (albeit a bit less that expected) and we will definitely be returning.

One of the better Ocean Baskets to frequent. Great food and service delivered by friendly and efficient staff. the mussel sauce is delish not to mention the best angel fish that melts in your mouth.

I haven't had ocean basket in probably more than a year so last night we popped into the branch in Paddocks last night. I must say that this looks like one of the nicer Ocean Baskets I have been to. I actually think based on how it looks that it used to be a Cape Town Fish Market.<br/><br/>I ordered the platter for 2 for the wife and I with some extra mussels for the wife. My daughter had the hake and calamari. No complaints about the platter for 2, everything on it was well cooked and tasty.<br/><br/>The main reason I wanted to gone as purely for their mussel sauce...I could eat it on its own. I always order an extra bowl of it. Never disappoints.<br/><br/>I was a little disappointed with my daughters hake. The batter lacked seasoning and the fish was not scaled properly.<br/><br/>Service was friendly and efficient. I will definitely return to this Ocean Basket even if its just for that mussel sauce. I was so hungry I forgot to take pics of the food.

This was our second visit and a lot more enjoyable than the first visit. Excellent waiter and so good to see the manager taking an interest in his customers.<br/><br/>I opted for the fish curry which was very enjoyable. <br/><br/>A big bonus was the kids play area out front, where we could leave the kid to play while we ate.<br/><br/>Enjoyable. Will be back.

We had a lovely date night at Ocean Basket at The Paddocks on Friday night. Far better than what I had anticipated to be honest. The service was friendly, the food (shipwreck special for 2) was generous and delicious and the bill was incredibly reasonable. I will return to this branch again in the near future to try the desserts.

Superb service, tasty food and close to a spot where the kids can play makes this place a winner! Had the platter for one...loaded with food (generous helping) and really fresh!

I've tried many branches of Ocean Basket I can tell here is the best,<br/>Lovely service, very high quality fresh food as I had cold fish n chips in another branch like they served one hour ago , any way here is best, great benefit is very good kid zone in this mall where you can eat and feed your kids while they play, lovely

This is one of the nicest ocean baskets I have been to. It's nice and spacious, not cluttered like some of the other branches and the food was excellent. You always know what's on the menu bar some specials which change daily but honsestly I will definitely visit this branch again.
