Absolutely amazing experience at La Rocca today! Waiter was so patient and never once got annoyed with all our requests. Owner gladly changed a order that was too spicy for me for something else. Food was delicious and did not take long at all. Will definitely recommend La Rocca to anyone!
The food was Delicious, I loved it. The atmosphere of the place was so nice, good food, good people
Loved it....the food was excellent, the service was a bit slow but hey the place was buzzing....
Awesome food at awesome prices...
Would definitely go there again....
Had the Ribs, wings and fries. Tasted great, awesome service and the prices are good as well.
Definitely recommend La rocca to anyone chasing good food.
The new place to eat out the best i ever had gud service gud food
Had an awesome team lunch at LA rocca, good food great service will definitely recommend it for any family work or catch up session, Thanks LA rocca for a memorable day
We ate here on recommendations from friends. My husband had the prawns on rice....with tatiki sauce. I had the overloaded pulled pork nachos. I was sceptical of the nachos but when they arrived at the table, I was blown away! The portion was a great size. The amount of pork was generous and the flavor was perfect! I'm so glad I chose them. I had so much I took 1/2 of It home which my husband finished. The staff were friendly and efficient. We'll come back again.
Wow food actual real food, And good food and Halaal. You have my 4/5 star's the reason why I didn't give you 5/5 star's is because just as a suggestion if you have people waiting can you please have seats outside of the restaurant so we can sit while we wait to be seated inside (especially for the elderly). But other than that my whole experience was amazing.
Lovely service never waited long for our food or drinks it was yummy had curry and it was in special the waiter was polite and rembered who ordered what. The curry was a generous portion the rooti and popadum with was delicious ordered a extra rooti for the sauce.. Left with a full tummy and not too heavy a bill. Happy customer 😊
I love La Roccas menu from the pizzas to the curry, and only ever had great experiences at La Rocca. Definitely worth a try. One of the nicest restaurants in the mall when looking for a tasty, satisfying meal.
Happy Mother’s Day
Well let’s just say that I was more interested in another restaurant other than La Rocca and even walked the very full mall in search for a booking at my favorite restaurant and as I get there... the call comes...”we’ve got seating” so venture back in utter sadness and sit in the PACKED RESTAURANT...(as was all the others on this day🤦♀️)
Waiter came and took our order...
The wait wasn’t that long as I thought it would be...and when my food arrived...oh did my food arrive...nothing less than well presented and deliciously tasty...I was in awe.
Absolutely impressed with the service and food.
Great first time experience and will definitely be going back to further explore that menu.👏
awesome armosphere and good for the whole family. menh provides a variety of foods as well as yummy desserts. smoking area is provided enclosed in glass which still provides a view of the restaurant.
La Rocca is a frequent, favourite dining choice. There was a time I stopped eating there, because the service and meals were consistently pathetic. However, I am happy to report that the last few times I've been there, I have been happy with the service and the food
My last visit was when I was craving an eggs benedict with macon. (So hard to find that in Cape Town, salmon is everywhere)
Anyway I was deeply disappointed when the waitress told me it was no longer on the menu and she couldn't ask the kitchen to prepare it, because the system wouldn't allow her to do that. I'm sure she could have made a plan, but anyway.
I ordered the benedict with pulled rib and asked for avo. She placed my order and then informed me that they didn't have avo. I told her they should send someone to buy it at Woolies. Then she said she'll send the manager to me.
The manager on duty, Neil, came to tell me that they did send someone to Woolies, but that if Woolies doesn't have soft avo - because it wasn't avo season - they wouldn't be able to serve it. I appreciated him coming over and sending the person to buy it.
I was disappointed that the waitress didn't ask how I want my eggs prepared. They made it hard and I prefer it soft. (I should have remembered to tell her but I had my mind on the macon)
The rib and eggs benedict combo is not for me. Maybe ribs so early in the morning wasn't what I prepared my stomach for and that's why I was disappointed.
It needed some spice, so I ate it with prego sauce.
My friend ordered an omelette.
I really really hope they add the macon peri peri eggs benedict back to the menu.
We popped in here for a drink and a quick bite, mainly coz they have a smoking area,. I ordered the masala lamb wrap and the missus ordered a burger, we got our drinks within a few minutes but the food took ages, we were just about to leave when our food arrived and it was worth the wait, my lamb wrap was delish and the burger patty in Sonja's burger was also perfect, so although it was slow service, the food was really tasty. Read lots of bad reviews here on zomato, so it looks like a bit of a hit and miss type of establishment, looks like it was our lucky day.
I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. From the breakfast to the burgers, ribs, prawns and chicken. There’s not many Halaal places like this so I’m glad this place exists. Think I’ve been there every week for a whole year and not once have I had anything to complain about.
Food and service was good. Atmosphere was quite vibrant over the weekend. We ordered some garlic bread to start which was very tasty. I ordered some alfredo fettuccine pasta. It was good and has quite a kick. My wife ordered the game day special which consisted of a rack of ribs, crumbed chicken wings, crumbed mushrooms and crumbed onion rings. All of which were excellent.
Myself and my husband decided to have supper at La Rocca and thoroughly enjoyed our experience there..especially the food! He had the ribs with wings and fries and I had steak with veggies and fries. The food deserves an 11 out of 10. We go there quite regularly and always enjoy the food. The service was also excellent, the waiter was very accommodating. We would definitely be going back. On a side note their creme brulee shake is unbelievable, definitely my favourite!
I ordered a cheeseburger and strawberry milkshake which was quickly brought to my table by my server who was friendly, attentive and helpful. Initially my burger bun was stale but that was immediately changed after I complained and my new burger was juicy and flavourful. The milkshake was also very tasty with lots of ice cream still inside. This is a very family-freindly place and it is great to know that it is also fully halaal.
One of my absolute favs 😍 their food has not disappointed me thus far and i really love their alfredo , their burgers has such a lovely flavor to it and the service is really good , their open burgers are a total winner and so are their roast veggies 🙈.
After a shopping spree, my friend and I decided to try the fully licensed Halaal eatery at Century City. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, she definitively deserved a good tip, you don't get that level of service nowadays...we both had the ribs & wings and chips, ribs was tender, off the bone delicious, my only criticism would be just a bit too much basting, but all in all a good dining experience, management was quite helpful...we will definitively be back, really enjoyed the lemonade with infused kiwi...
For some reason Leanne and I were both in the mood to try out the Alfredo Pasta, maybe we had our monthly garlic deficiency which this meal would definitely satisfy. We even added all the complementary extra garlic and cheese. Their pastas are great so give them a go. I wouldn’t recommend anything from their grill menu as the prices aren’t justified. The milkshakes are good too. Give the tiramisu latte a skip, a great latte should be sweetened with honey, not cheap syrup.
An adequate Halaal restaurant based at the canal walk mall. Food was pretty average and portions were generous. Service wasn't entirely the best.
Love coming to La Rocca, although service is slow and you wait a while for your food I still feel it's worth it. I usually only have the pasta which is very tasty, today I decided to try their burger, I had the mozzarella and mushroom chicken burger. Was GOOD! The milkshakes are just as nice.
We celebrated my friend's birthday at La Rocca last night.
I ordered a peri chicken mayo sandwich. Presentation was good and it tasted yum. I would have liked more spicyness as the menu stated - peri chicken mayo. The side fries was golden and crispy and nothing make me happier than a good portion of chips.
They took really long to prepare the food even though it was a Tuesday night.
I'd return to try out different stuff on their menu. They really clean and food presentation skills great!
Always a superb experience dining here. the food is on the pricey side but the portions are big and the quality of your meat, greens - always very good.
I ordered the rump cheddarmelt- succulent Rump strips, caramelised onions and cheddar in a roll with lettuce and tomato. Pepper sauce and chips on the side. This was so filling, I ended up having half of it for lunch the next day.
I had a pasta and it was really nice, however, it could have been a bit more spicy as I love spicy and strong food. Portion size looked small but it was really big, I couldn't finish my pasta. 🍝 great spot and their milkshakes are amazing!
Had a great evening, the waiter was so cool and friendly. The food was yummy and it didn't take very long. The prawn chaat was yummy. Good experience.

The best of all was the service we were in the mood for something quick and the waiter identified with us while we were purchasing some items just opposite their entrance we were greeted with a welcoming smile and this welcoming gesture made us turn back and have a sitdown ...
Had the Morther Breakfast was nicely presented and most of all i enjoyed the sausage.
Will be planning to trial there dinner menu...
One of the few places that hardly disappoints! Always great service and yummy food! Their prices are reasonable and portion sizes are good as well. My parents actually introduced me to La Rocca a few years ago and I've been going ever since. Their breakfast menu is pretty good as well! My last visit I had the chicken Alfredo pasta and my husband had a pretty huge burger which he really enjoyed.
So my first visit to this restuarant proved relatively successful. The pizza was okay, the beverages were above average. However, the seating was a bit akward and pokey. The food came at a relatively fast pace. I do think that the food needs a bit more flavour and needs to be decorated with a side of greens and onions so that the plate of tikka inferno does not seem empty. That said I would give this restuarant a second try and look forward to tasting the butter chicken and grills.
I can't understand how people could rate this place so low. Every single time I've been here I've always had great service and the food never disappoints. It's the one place we usually go for anniversaries and birthday's as their food is consistently delicious! Best part is that it is fully halaal and affordable too!

June 2016 update - i feel their service has improved and their waiting time reduced. The last spicy chicken salad I had was really tasty and not bland as I've found some other dishes. Haven't seen a built in service tip for 2people again..... La Rocca is practically the only upmarket halaal place you can sit down and eat in Canal Walk that isn't in the food court. I wish I could rate them higher - they have a lot of potential, yummy looking specials and they are always really busy. The service is sometimes slow but yesterday it was surprisingly fast given how busy it was. When my food came it was cold but the chips were hot. I couldn't find my waiter so I asked someone else to heat it but then my food never came back. I eventually asked my waiter to check on it and it arrived. My companions were annoyed but I was just glad to eat. I was hungry but the food was slightly bland (as I usually find their food to be). My iced coffee was good but small for the price. What really shocked me was the bill at the end of lunch. To have a built in tip for a table of 3 is not something I've ever seen in SA. I usually give a tip but please don't force your customers to do so - pay your staff a better salary. I never saw the bit about the tip being built in in the menu.
Ate here this passed weekend and really enjoyed the food! Service was not the best as the waitron was a little to forward and don't think she represented the brand well.
I ordered an item and she told me that I would be disappointed - suppose she was being honest but still not a great representation...
So I went with my second choice and ordered it medium rare and got it rare... Most would send it back but I didn't mind and really enjoyed it. Taste was awesome and the sides were really good. Sides of creamy spinach was deeelish...
All in all, food was great and service was a bit harsh... But would like to see this brand grow. For me, I didn't see anything that stood out as their menu covers everything, so would recommend that they find a niche product/s and push that so that they can really grow...
La Rocca in Canal Walk, Century City offers delicious food! Every time I go there I am more and more impressed with their portion size, quick and friendly service and how tasty the food is! The restaurant is also very considerate of their customers and offer free savouries and falooda for all those who wish to break their Ramadaan fast in the mall! My personal favourite is Mount La Rocca! Prawn lovers - this one is for you - be sure to try it ! Juicy prawns in a tariki sauce - yum !

More often than not when I talk about La Rocca people tell me about bad experiances. However every single time I go there I have the time of my life. My angels and I went and just to see if what everyone saying was true i went with an open mind. No biases. And honestly it was the way I always experianced it. Warm and welcoming.
We waited 15min to be seated as they were super busy (Which was great in fact as it gave me time to go pay an account) and once we were seated we were approached to order something to drink. Specials was explained to us. Something a few restaurants i've been to lacked. We ordered sushi and food and was given a waiting period by our waiter Hafiz and 10 points to him for actually sticking to it keeping in mind that the place was packed.
I cant complain about the food or service. We always have a good time here and if you think tje food is good the desserts step it up a notch and make it a sweet ending. Love the butterchicken and would recommend the pasta. So creamy! Also if ulyou like you food spicy request chillies. It could be a bit bland for you. And their fashion sandwiches are tops!

Popped in for a quick lunch at La Rocca. The food and service was good- average quality. Hubby had fillet and I had a Pirate Platter (prawns, calamari and fish ect). Only 2 things: 1. the side salad was 97% lettuce 2. The prawns were curry flavor. Overall good, we will be back to try other items.
I decided to try this place for lunch today as the menu looked promising and the pricing was not too shabby. I ordered the Pool Boy and my boyfriend the steak. The service is quick and the food good, but can be better. My sandwich was suppose to have tzatziki on it, but it was just plain yogurt. The salad was some chopped iceberg lettuce with one lonely olive, maybe 2 pieces of feta and a few stray tomatoes. The chicken on the sandwich was really nice as they used the natural cooking juices of the chicken to make a sauce for the pulled chicken. My boyfriend's steak was perfectly done medium-rare, but his onion rings tasted like they were either made much earlier in the day and just reheated. My overall impression is a place with alot of potential but won't be going back till they bump up the finer details. What most restuarants don't always get is that the small stuff is sometimes the most important.
I absolutely love this restaurant. The menu is so diverse, everyone will find something they love. Their curries: amazing! Their service is nice and fast, friendly staff and all round nice vibe. Enjoy being here.
We had a lovely time at La Rocca last night.
Our waitress was friendly and very sweet. She was attentive and fast. We did not have to wait long for our meals.
My husband ordered meat, chips and veg with a black pepper sauce and I ordered the Chicken Alfredo and we really enjoyed our meals. 👌
La rocca has updated their menu. There are quite a few new items and some of the old favourites remained. The food was lovely but their coolers needed more syrup and should have been sweeter.
Great to still have a smoking section available, much quieter and less crowded than rest of restaurant.Unfortunately they didn't have appletizer available so couldn't have the Mocksville we wanted. The pepper sauce we ordered, was mushroom sauce. My chicken fillet, slightly dry. It was lunch rush hour so we will give them benefit of doubt, and visit again.
I recommend trying the grilled steak with shrimp and fried onion rings with black pepper sauce. The dish is most wonderful, delicious and varied.
Went for lunch and really enjoyed their JLP burger with chicken. The burgers are big and they aren't shy with the toppings. The burger was very tasty. The fried onion rings were also delicious. The waiter was friendly and polite. The caramel banana pancakes were served with either cream or dessert and a lovely ending to a meal 😋
I had a great experience with service lastnight, they were very busy and we thought our waiting time for our food would be very long but to our surprise it wasn't long at all. Our waiter , Nadia was amazing very kind , polite , very friendly and always checking up on us.
Meal portions were small but filling for us . The only thing I was disappointed in was my Pina Colada it had too much ice 🧊 in it and huge chunks and wasn't sweet enough for me. But will definitely go again . 👍
Exceptional service, mouth watering food, and vibrant atmosphere. It surely won't leave a dent in your pocket.
It wasn't a bad first time experience at La Rocca.
The wrap was good but the salad made it a little soggy after a while. It would have been so nice with spinach as that doesn't welt as quick as lettuce when it's saucy. Red onion would have been a nice taste on the wrap aswell.
The steak was fine but it was a little under done I chose medium to well done. The veggies with the steak was very nice.
The freezo was very good we had one chocolate and one mocha.
The smoking area is no longer a smoking area.
Love this restaurant however if you don't like noisy places avoid it as it is in the middle of the mall. The food is great everytime I go and I definately reccommend it.
Found a place with great value for money even the kiddies portion of food is quite a lot. Service is excellent. All round it was a lovely experience and my taste buds were at cloud 9 with every bite. The set up of the place is quite relaxing as well. For those interested LA Rocca has a smoking area as well, I know most places don't have that anymore
The food was absolutely delicious and the menu is fantastic. I could not choose between two of the meals I wanted to order so I just ordered both. Best decision as I had leftovers for later. I would undoubtedly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Cape Town. ❤️
