Review Maestro's On The Beach - Milnerton

Ms Noxolo
Right next to the beach, so great ocean and table mountain views. There's lots on offer from the menu and the food is delicious. Lovely atmosphere as well. It can get quite windy if you're seated outside.
Satish Gupta
Lovely place with plenty of sitting space which is suitable for any kind of weather, be it summer to experience the sea waves and water sound or windy winter with cozy closed warm space. This is just on the beach with stunning table mountain, lions head and sea view. Food variety is also great to accommodate everyone and sporty bar to enjoy watching the sport you love. Try out their bugers, simply amazing. Kids love this place more in summer’s.

Loved the atmosphere and the food and waitresses were friendly , Josh is a great waiter and the lady that helps us too..I just forgot her name. Parking is inside at the Booms , I first got there walking around to the far left side at the fence near the beach , that's not the entry ⛔ but at the Boom. What you will appreciate is the view , bring along shades for the sun , at the outside seating ....will definitely come again..prices are reasonable..

Fantastic view, delicious food, the best service, a lovely walk on the beach just as you go downstairs, love it, family friendly place, one of our favorites

This restaurant is well run! We arrived without making a reservation and managed to secure a table within 5 minutes of arriving. Our food was served soon after placing our order. The restaurant has a nice vibe and is clearly favored by many as there wasn't a table open on this Saturday afternoon, and some large groups had tables booked. The outside sitting area is lovely, if not windy.

A fantastic dining experience with captivating ocean and Table Mountain views, complemented by delicious food, excellent service, and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Marilyn was an amazing waitress, very attentive and helpful. Very delicious food! 😍

A very, very busy restaurant with year-end parties. That is why I gave the atmosphere only 3 stars. Just busy. A great menu at good prices. Food was good. Staff and service was amazing considering how busy they were. A stunning location.
JP Borel-Saladin
Beautiful location on the sea. Looking down the beach, you can see Table Mountain in the distance. Quite frankly, I'd go back just for the food and service, which were very good.
Michelle Naicker
Wow what a great place for the entire family, lovely vibes. Lovely atmosphere, great food. Such fabulous breathtaking views looking over the beach. Indoor and outdoor seating. We truly had a great time. The staff were friendly, efficient and excellent. Thank you Bossa we had a great time. My new found favourite place.

The absolute best bossa I have ever visited in SA. The views, gorgeous. The food, didn't know it could taste so good. Don't get me started on Douglas. FAST, and so friendly. Really upgraded my outing to CT to such a delight! Never in my 23 years on this earth have I met a waiter like Douglas 🍻🙏

Been there a few times. Staff always friendly. Food is amazing. Bonus is that they offer a corkage service so you can take your favorite wines that are not offered at the restaurant. @ le Roux.....you are the best
Natasha Taylor
Great view, good food and good service. Cocktails a little watered down but pretty. Only negative on the outside deck, people were vaping in non-smoker section- staff never bothered asked them to move to smoking section. Other than that really enjoyed our visit!

This place is now called BOSSA, please update your listing. It’s a completely different restaurant with a different menu.
Mediocre. Average cocktails average food average service. Had a seafood platter for 2 and everything had the same bland taste. Besides mussel pot which was creamy and not bad. Wouldn't be back for the food.

So some of my ex-colleagues met for lunch on Thursday (26/9/2019) afternoon. They were busy with renovations and it seems they are busy changing owners and / or name soon.

The menu had a huge variety from steaks, pizzas, seafood, etc ... etc.

I ordered their lunch special of a 200g sirloin steak with 2 fried eggs, fries and a complementary sauce of your choice ... monkey gland, mushroom ... etc. I ordered my steak medium rare but received more medium than medium rare ...

I also think the order took longer than it would on average from any other restaurant.

They have plenty of seating inside and outside under the umbrellas ...

In spite of my experience I would still recommend for a quick lunch and hangout with friends.
Zenda Farrell
So sad. Beautiful view, but average to poor food. They’ve lost a customer .. sorry
Courtney Petersen
Food is way too overpriced for what you receive. My fillet was tender but over seasoned and my food was ice cold. The chips given seemed like it was the last bits of two different packs, some French fry, some thick cut. A few people at the table mentioned the same. Not sure if food standards dropped due to the renovations taking place but thankfully this was a company dinner as I don't think I would return to pay for a meal here.

This was my second time here.

This time I came for a solo dinner...and although the restaurant was not too busy when I arrived, the service was a bit slow. The food made up for it...the views of the ocean too.

I spoke to the manager and he said that they’re opening a sushi bar with their new revamp...which if all goes well will be ready by June, exciting times!
Lovely dinner at Maestros. We often go there as they offer an unsurpassed view of Table Mountain and the bay, as you can see from the attached photograph. The menu offers a good selection of meals ranging from pizzas and burgers to steaks. There is something for every taste. The Sunday breakfast and lunch buffets are also very good value for money.

I had the chicken piccata and my partner the chicken schnitzel, both of which were tasty. The onion rings were delicious. I would have liked some creamed spinach and butternut but this is no longer an option. I didn't feel like roasted vegetables. I felt that the portion of chips was too big. Shoestring fries would have looked better on the plate than a huge helping of thick chips.

All in all an enjoyable meal.
Sone Ginger Vd Merwe
Always a good choice. Have been here a few times and their pasta is to die for! Service is very laidback and not specifically great, but the food makes up for this. In this instance had the Alfredo pasta and Seafood pasta with a cherry mojito and long island iced tea. Cocktails very well presented and not light with the alcohol 🙈 portions are big and well prepared, I really want to try other courses.

Can't wait to enjoy cocktails with friends in the summer to come!

Maestros is a place I will visit time and time again. I have never been let down by the exceptional quality of this restaurant. Situated in a lovely location with spectacular views of the bay and mountain, it is well worth the visit. Maestros has a lively atmosphere and is extremely cozy to visit during the winter months. During this particular visit our waitress was a little slow on the service but the food was outstanding and well worth the wait. The table ordered an Angelina pizza to share and I had the Jessica Simpson rump steak (the menu items come with amusing names). The pizza had everything I expect in a good pizza, a delicious combination of topping, the perfect base and the right amount of cheese. My steak was divine, cooked according to my preference and also a delicious combination of trimmings. I highly recommend Maestros for a leisurely dining experience that will not disappoint.
Shanaed Nicole Anderson
Food is always great , ambience is amazing , service is decent . Only issue was dirty champagne & wine glasses but the waitress sorted that out for us .

Being from the Hospitality industry I know service & great food delivery is not the easiest but at Maestros the team work well together and pull it off well!

I have been here multiple times for breakfasts and dinners! The breakfast buffet used to be really nice, I am not sure they still offer this, recently we went for my brother's birthday and some of us had the buffet which we all really enjoyed. I would be a little careful of the curries as I did not feel to well after the one I ate, but the salads were good, the desserts delicious and everyone else who ordered chicken was fine and seemed to enjoy it.
Monique Withering
Awful stay away. They trade on the view and location so think they can serve subpar food and have terrible service and people will put up with it.
Jody Harris
I have recently had two meals here this season. Quality is good but so over priced, I know we have to pay for the view but ripping us off isn't good. Food wait times are a little long yet the waitron staff are very friendly. I don't dislike your restaurant but won't rush back
Sungula Nkabinde
Great spot. Was my wife and I's favorite place when we started dating and, after 5/6 years, it was nice to see that their standards hadn't dropped. My only complaint is that the food took forever. But boy was it worth the wait.😋 Best ribs I've had in years. I'd also recommend the Kingklip.
Yemurai Muchenje
This place has such a great view of Table Mountain and it being right on the beach definitely adds positively to the ambiance and vibe they have going on.

After reading reviews on Zomato, I was sceptical about going there because I expected bad service but I got the opposite. Our waitress was very polite and her service was above par.

I ordered the 500g ribs and my friend ordered the Maestro Pasta(which we were told was the best) and we both very happy with the food. I mean, I don't even like ribs/usually eat them but this was worth trying something new.

I'd recommend this place for sundowners or a laid back evening with friends/family.

I've been to Maestro's a couple of times. The best thing about the restaurant is the amazing view of the beach and Table Mountain. The food has always been very tasty and well prepared. There is always a nice vibe as the restaurant is always busy. I was a little bit disappointed with my food yesterday. I ordered the surf and turf pizza and the crust was quite soft and soggy (on the raw side). The toppings on my pizza was also sparse compared to the other times I've been there. The waiters and staff are very friendly and competent, however one does tend to wait a bit for them to come to your table for orders or to bring the bill.
Dylan Margoczi
Typical steakhouse type resturaunt, over priced for what you get though. I had a starter calamari which I thought was a bit small, the Sirloin Steak with egg and bacon was good. The presentation was very bland, a nice location but you need to book. Service was ok, expect to wait a little.
Kev0's Food Adventures!
While I was very weary of the low reviews of Maestro's, some friends invited us here for dinner as they had a 40% off of ribs special. Amanda and I each got the 800gram racks and needless to say we both had leftovers 😂 The restaurant has a great view of table mountain. As for the ribs they were delicious, and tender to the point of falling off the bone! Not sure about the other food but the ribs are def delicious!
Denzil Bartlett
Sadly the food and especially the service doesnt match the spectacular views of Table Mountain. Food was very bland. Waittress was missing in action for most of our stay.
Janthinus Schrage
Maestros on the Beach is definately ON THE BEACH! Everytime I visited Maestros, I was not disappointed. Their food is of high quality, the service might be a tad slow, but the view totally compensates for that! Their menu is reasonably priced.

They offer a variety of cocktails and Maestros is the best catalyst to a great time out with friends. They are based in Milnerton and not to far from the city bowl. Make Maestros one of your must visit places in Cape Town and go ahead and enjoy the view!
Wendy Steffen
Absolutely disgusting, regularly come to Maestro's on a last minute basis when they busy, no problem getting a table to asked to wait. But today 3pm myself and another 2 people turned away, because the kitchen cannot cope!!! It wasn't even that busy. About 10 tables outside and only half the restaurant busy. Not a word of a lie. We weren't even offered to perhaps sit and have a drink and wait for a table to leave. Never have I received this kind of treatment from the people at this establishment. Will not be back in a hurry, they clearly don't need my business!!! Many others I will be happy to go visit going forward.
Jonathan Garisch
Came here on Sunday at noon and it was very busy. Buffet seems to be quite a popular option. Great views, service a bit slow and paying at the front was a bit annoying. This isn't Wimpy. My calamari was overpriced and the tartar was sauce was horrid.
Eleanora Bresler
Completely unimpressed. This is another restaurant that has been around forever and thus seriously needs a revamp of menu to keep up with the times and not just rely on the beautiful setting.

The menu is expensive and outdated. They have a photo of a chicken burger on the menu but when I asked the waitress where it was written on the menu I was told it's not on the menu. There are now healthy options offered. No sweet potato chips offered. I asked if the hake could be grilled instead of fried to be told no as the fish is already on the batter. Yuck! The toasted sandwiches are served on bread that is quite dry and unimpressive looking. The pizza my friend had was soggy! It was taken off the bill but can you believe that the manager never even had the decency to come and apologise!

The only good things here are the cocktails.

Get with the times Maestros!
Valerie Xavier
Great views but terrible staff !!!

Went there for lunch and we just got our drinks when 2 waitresses decided to open the glass door next to our table for another customer who wanted to go outside but found the front door too far I assume.

On a windy day this was not a good idea ! Firstly they struggled to open the door and the customer had to climb on the table to open it and as it opened our drinks fell over and spilled on the table!

The 2 waitresses ignored what happened and carried on chatting casually to the customer. They walked away without even apologizing! or even offering to clean it up.
Not too sure if they were expecting our own waitress to clean the mess.

We complained to the manager and walked out.
As we walked to the entrance, we saw that the 2 waitresses were chatting away inside not bothered about the mess they had caused.

It felt like like the foreign customer was more important than the local customer ... can help wandering why!

Let me preface this review by saying I celebrated my 21st birthday at Maestro's a few years ago- it has been a constant favourite for me and my family. I visited Maestro's in the first week of January after not having visting there for over 18 months. It fell very short of the expectation created years before:
The service was shocking- I had to alert a waiter that we would like to order our drinks. I ordered a bottle of wine and a Lindsay Lohan Burger. The burger was revolting- the onions were hardly caramelized and smothered by too much cheddar cheese. The guacamole was served in a tiny dish- one tablespoon at most. The veg was tasteless.
All in all- I'm not rushing back- I would rather visit one of the restaurants on the Blouberg Beachfront for the same view. A disappointing fall from grace .

Beautiful location; terrible food.

The service was below average and the food took over an hour to come out. Our waitress was inattentive during the entire evening.

I ordered a medium-rare steak and it came well-done and tasteless. The chips were oily and the starters average.

The decor isn't bad, however I didn't like the look for the kitchen from the dining area. The scullery was in full view from the main dining area which ruins the setting of the restaurant.

We visited Maestro's for the first time tonight. We were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was filled to capacity. Our waitress warned us that there might be a longer wait tonight (we waited about 45 minutes, which really isn't unreasonable). The food was absolutely delicious. Huge portions, freshly prepared, warm and amazing! The views were amazing too! Thanks for a lovely evening!
Anja Immelman
Very unfortunate. Since they have a great location. When we firsts came here on a whim, the restaurant was 1/5th full. We asked for a table and they reluctantly asked if we'd booked. We said no and with a great sigh they said they'd "See what they could do."
There were several tables outside available as well and no sign of them being booked. We ordered some drinks and we initially wanted to eat here. But service was so slow, we just opted for sundowners.

We were there for almost an hour and a half. The other tables never filled. So we don't get why they were so reluctant in the first place. Just all round a no-no for me.
Daniel
Our food took almost two hours to arrive, our starters came AFTER our mains and when we questioned why this happened the waiter blamed us! I had a burger, the patty was overcooked and dry, there was hardly any sauce and the mash was just terrible. All the meals at the table were sub-par except the fish. I wish I could give this a negative score because that's how poor of an experience I had. And to top it all off, this is the 4th time in a row that I've had this kind of experience, I'm not giving Maestro's another chance again.
Guy
Our booking was for a table of 20 and when we arrived they showed us to 2 separate tables of 10! We had this changed into one long more sociable table much to the displayed annoyance of the Front Manager. Whilst we would like to commend our waitron Candice (36) on her exemplary service, we felt that she was struggling against a tidal wave of poor service from the kitchen (pizzas took over an hour) and bar service/drinks took more than 20 minutes to arrive. We feel that had it not been for having one of the best locations along that coastline Maestros would not be a popular venue. In short your service needs drastic improvement!!!!!!!!!
Every time I want to show my friends from overseas a beautiful sunset, I take them to Maestro’s – what a stunning location! I usually book the round table by the window so we can enjoy the views while chatting.

The whole vibe here is laid back, you can arrive, take some nice pictures with a stunning view of Table Mountain in the golden/red light of the sun and continue with some nice wine and a home-style comfort meal. In my experience the waitrons are attentive and quite quick to react, they might not be highly informed about the different wines or food but they can go ask if you need some more information.
Personally I enjoy the garlic bread and calamari to share as starters and the pepper steak (rich & creamy sauce) as a main. They have generous side which you can pick and match. The desserts are good (Malva pudding) and quite big so you can share.

Going to Maestro’s kind of feels like going to a friend or family members house and just relaxing and enjoying the company.
Glen Hunt
Every time. Always a problem. If it's not the time waiting for drinks, it's food being cold.

They have a fantastic location but with service keep screwing it up and making my experience bad in one way or another.

I'd really only come here with friends for a few drinks on a summers day.
Barbara Ann Hall
Gorgeous setting with great views of the sea and Table mountain. Casual and popular, this establishment offers a good full menu with a great variety to choose from. Service is adequate😂
Amy Engelbrecht
Food was good. Cocktails were great as well. My friend and i ordered amarula dom pedros which just tasted like melted ice cream, though. Not even a hint of amarula.
Went on a rainy night, and it was quite toasty inside. Nice experience
Jessica Stromin
Had a decent lunch at Maestro's - the food is far from gourmet, but good. Our table had pizzas and burgers, and we had a friendly waitress. Let's be honest, you really come for the view which is beautiful - make sure to book outside on a nice day.
Azele Anne Naicker
Maestro's has a beautiful location. I attended a birthday party here with about 20 people. The menu is basic, they have a bit of everything for everyone but nothing special. I had a pizza which was fresh and delicious. The service was quite poor with our orders forgotten and drinks arriving well after the food.
Chad Rayner
Gets 1...for venue only! Menu is as long as telephone book. All in all badly managed and food was not good, better of going across the road too ilha and getting a cheese sandwich.
Collin Allin
Not a bad venue with a great view.. Service was friendly but very poor and non attentive.. Good was good and very good value for money... Coffee was not the best I have had but not he worst.. Maybe place if weather is nice and u can sit outside with view
Brian Wilkinson
I'm a local and have never really fancied Maestros - service has always let them down and menu is frankly far too large. But had some visitors here from Washington and the view is surely one of the best in the world - so threw caution to the wind and went for it!
How embarrassing! Can't comment on the food because it never arrived - was strapped for time and specifically asked the waiter whether my order would be done on time - to which he replied - easy! Well 40 mins later I had to leave (meeting a plane so was on a deadline). Would have possibly understood if the restaurant was full - but was maybe 50%. I had to leave my guests and miss dinner.
Managers response was really lame - sorry but it's coming out now!
So certainly off my list - this time for good!😢😢😢
Lucinda Villain
Amazing view but the service was extremely disappointing. The food is reasonably priced for its portion size but definitely had better steak before. Great variety on the menu.
Tracy Morison
Both times we've gone to this joint have been disappointing. It's really not a great place if you don't eat meat, but that aside, its informality borders on disorder. They had no craft beers on the Saturday we went and the staff seemed overwhelmed. We ended up going elsewhere. I wouldn't try it a third time.
Simone Brunton
Went for lunch at midday. Absoloutely shockingly bad service! Good food and a great menu. Very cool vibe and view but I have never waited so long for a drink!
Peter Lott
First visit to Maestros on the evening of 29 Jan. Friday night so I acknowledge that they were busy... drinks were delivered quickly. All food orders, starters and entree were placed at 1915. Starters and drinks were delivered quickly but the main course was only delivered at 2115. Food was good but.... Management were very apologetic but 2 hours to wait is ridiculous!!!!!
Jana Lorraine Pretorius
I've been a fairly regular diner at Maestro's for over a decade now, and can honestly say that I have never been disappointed. Positioned right at the beach front, the restaurant offers the most gorgeous view of Table Bay. Despite being a fairly large restaurant, which often gets quite busy, the service and quality of the food are excellent. Maestro's also caters to various kinds of dining experiences--it's ideal for a quick breakfast, a family meal, summer-time sundowners, or dinner with friends. It's also quickly becoming a tourist hot spot, so it's best to make a booking during the holiday season.
Kim Pienaar
Lunch on the deck outside overlooking the beach and table mountain. Would recommend to visit this restaurant to anyone. Yummy pizzas with loads of toppings! Great cocktails and good service! Money well spent!!!
FredMono
Booked in the moring, however they do not book tables on the patio. On arrival requested outside table and got one stunning view. All ordered burgers and there were no disappointments. Service took some time but the were extremely busy. Had the Jessica Simpson burger was not disappointed. Great service from the staff and the beers were really cold.
Marlinette Newman
Arrived to a dirty table. Slow unfriendly service. Below average food. We had burgers and the meat tasted very fatty and 'cheap'. Chips tasted like they were cooked in old oil.
Lauren Shea Patterson
Great service and accommodation - they organised a table for 7 without a reservation without any hassles or huffing and sighing.
The view that you can beautifully see from the broad, long windows is phenomenal on its own. Table Mountain in all her glory with crashing waves in the foreground. Their extensive cocktail menu is great for summer. The food is delicious too. I'd recommend the Angelina Jolie burger over and over again - either a grilled chicken breast or beef patty with yummy grilled bacon and the best blue cheese sauce in Cape Town.
Perfect place for any occasion.
Brecon
What a lovely evening! Food was better than I expected: delish pizzas, succulent steak and you definately don't leave hungry! While we were paying it came up that we'd just gotten engaged and they offered us a drink on the house which was so appreciated!
We booked early yesterday morning, and noted that specific tables couldnt be booked but that all had a stunning view. So when a table opened up near us with less bustle and more window, we asked for it only to be told it had been booked. An hour later, still no one. So that is the only gripe I had.
Zimkhitha Sulelo
I love maestros and don't mind the fact that it's a little bit outside town. Every time I go there there is a great vibe and it does have a great view of Table Mountain.

I love their burgers named after American celebrities and I never go wrong with Angelina Jolie. A walk on the beach afterwards is always a perfect end to my lunch.
Cassy
I have been to this restaurant twice in the last few weeks to meet with clients. As you walk in the door, you are warmly greeted. The waitrons are very respectful and well spoken, the service is excellent. Good coffee and very different creme brûlée, lovely taste but with the consistency of white chocolate mousse.
Sarita Kerber
It's sad to say since I live in the area and it's based in a great location which is perfect for sundowners overlooking Table Mountain but the food is not impressive. Been here a few times over the years and I unfortunately always find a fault with the food. On the plus side great spot for cocktails and watching the sunset
Jacques Van Zyl
I went with a group of my friends to the Maestros restaurant in Milnerton.
The waiter, Mr Keran, made a mistake with our order. And also my one friend's order never got wrote down, thus resulting in her almost not getting anything to eat.

I had to call the manager myself to come to our table, which is not on.

I am also not getting any feedback from Maestros on social media.

I guess as a consumer/customer they don't see the value in responding to a complaint/concern.

I am disappointed to say the least.
Mornay Elizabeth Schoeman
I'm rewriting this review. Was here last Sunday for the first time in a long while! The service was much better than I've experienced in my last 3 visits. I know this may not mean it's a complete turn around, but I hope for them it's getting better. Food was good, comfort food, when you need it, winter. Not my first choice to go out, but not so bad if you are caught up in a group outing!
Leroné Lazenby
Tasty pizzas, ribs, cocktails and wine with a relaxed atmosphere! Value for money! The best place to witness the most beautiful Cape Town sunsets!
Jane Price
I went to this place when it first opened and was so impressed that I kept going for a while. I regret to say, though, that with every return, the disappointment grew until I no longer put foot in it, despite living right across the road from it. I hosted a party there for a friend and the service was so appalling that I was embarrassed to have invited such a large group there. The last time I went I still remember chomping on hard bits of bone in the burger patty, and although the manager didn't charge me, I can't say I was in a huge hurry to go back. I've had undercooked pizzas a couple of times as well. Basically it's gone down to a point that I don't trust the place to give me anything decent anymore. They haven't been at all shy about increasing the prices during all the time the quality was diminishing. It's a pity because they have one of the best venues in the whole of the Cape.
Philip Kurtz
Great location. Food great. Service also always good. Champagne based cocktails great drink. Might need a lift home. Spectacular view. Hidden gem
Laura Coulson
This is a great place to eat, it's well priced and the portions are huge ! I had their hamburger and it was very yummy but wasn't the best. The staff were very friendly and it had an amazing view !
Debbie Coulson
Have been here a few times.. A great location but the food is average.. Had pizza the last time which was ok. I think it's fine for a drink with a view...
Stuart Mcintyre
Went to Maestros on 08/06 due to power outage, service was great, food shocking, my partner ordered mushroom parmesan, it was watery and tasteless, ordered a 200gr Sirloin, full of sinew, I asked for a 300 rump, no rump available so went for the 300 sirloin, wow 😲 shocking, tasteless and full of sinew. Not worth the R500 spent their, will not go back. Place is overrated and so is the food.
Charles Bertram
Great location but food is below average. Seems to rely on us view and a steady stream of pensioners to keep going. Was having lunch with a friend there and he found plastic in his 'creamed ' spinach. Microwave from a bag? We'll never know...
The Food Musketeer
The main attraction for this spot is the sunsets its definitely something... another thing is if you like garlic snails then you must try them here... but be warned its smothered in garlic so go with pals and not on a date lol

Enjoyed my evening here the food was good.. the service was a little slow but a good vibey night out
Jenny Sarah Coulson
Although the view is incredible, I found the food rather underwhelming. I ordered steak with peppadews and camembert and yes, it was tasty, but a little tough and slightly cold. The menu is enormous and seems to cater for a tourist market in terms of its prices. I would come here for sundowners on the balcony, though, as the service is great and it's quite a vibey spot.
Michael Lotter
Certainly one of the best views, even on a winters evening! Wine selection needs some work, but the food is brilliant. Good seafood, but excellent steaks.
Francois Smit
One of THE best views in Cape Town, just a pity about the barely adequate service and average food. Expected more from a restaurant in this location. Management should definitely pay attention to over all look and feel of the venue as well as the service delivery, which is clearly lacking at present.
Rése Engelbrecht
Great food, great atmosphere and Sky was a great waiter. The food portions was really big and tasted great. We sat there for almost 4 hours and had a ball* thank you very much will definitely recommend you guys!
Michelle Matzdorff
Nine of us went to Maestro's for dinner last night and none of us were particularly impressed. I had the stuffed calamari with chicken and feta, and although the calamari was cooked well, the filling was nothing short of revolting. The chicken and feta had been ground up so much that it was dry and tastes dusty, and I landed up scraping the filling out of the calamari. For R135, the portion was not up to scratch, and the size was measly. The guys at the table all had the ribs, and all of them rated their food as no more than 6/10, with the ribs' tenderness being the only redeeming quality. Can't say I'm in a hurry to go back.

A very, very dissapointing experience. It took 30 minutes to get any service and then after taking our order the waitress failed to return. On enquiring we found out the waitress had lost our order. Whilst waiting for our food we were asked to move to another table as they wanted our table. When the bill came we were charged for food that we ordered but never received. The worst service I have ever had.

Only received my first drink order after 45 mins of arriving. Terrible service. Waitress brought my coffee without sugar and took another 10 mins to bring sugar.

Consistently good. Beautiful location! My taste buds have never been overly excited here but always enjoy my time there. Needs craft beer and decent coffee. Burgers are named very cleverly and are my choice on the menu.

My regular haunt due to a great location (on the beach!) and an extensive menu featuring something for just about any taste. Their prices used to be much more reasonable but has recently been going upward steadily but the portions are big so still a good deal. Service is mostly an issue but I usually look past that and just order more wine...

Nice location. Pity the the chicken on my chicken salad was a disaster and a total ripoff given what I received for the price. Plate full of water because the greens were not dried properly. Had a huge mound of iceberg lettuce covered by the other stuff. Had so little chicken (8 small strips at max) and worst of all, the chicken was raw inside. How do you serve a raw chicken strip?????

Love the location - they have prime spot for a beautiful beach and sea view but other than that, it's not a place I love to hang out at. It's great for pictures and enjoying the view. I did not like the food, it's not gourmet enough for me. My friends who were with me did not mind the food - so taste do differ.

We had a great day out at Maestro's, the setting is absolutely beautiful coupled with the sound of the ocean. The service was friendly and efficient yet I ordered extra feta which they said would take 20 minutes as the kitchen was busy which was strange for such a simple thing but other than that I would definitely recommend it.

Maestro's has some awesome views and a variety of options on the menu. Good value for money as well... Sitting outside isn't the best idea when windy out. Definitely a cool place to try.

Made a reservation and on arrival was placed at a table at the back of restaurant that clearly was not reserved for us. Menu has great selection and according to the waiter they are known for their ribs and steak. We tried the fillet and unfortunately I found a long black hair in my food. The steak was replaced after my guests were ending of their meals. Receiced no appology nor any consession for the incident. It is a popular restaurant with beautiful views of Table Mountain...but my bad experience will make me think twice before visiting again.

So I visited it again....maybe things have improved.....NOT!!!!

Ordered a seafood platter for two at R500 and was ripped off. Dry fish, chewy mussles, unappealing prawns and a handful of calamari on a dry bed of rice. On our plates...a blob of chunky mash potatoe... View is great, but the food and service....questionable. Better value for money and better tasting food at Ocean Basket! Maestros should seriously review their seafood platter!!!

Their burgers are the best! The quirky celeb names of the burgers made it fun to order.

Awesome food and atmosphere, what can you say about the view! Tough in Africa, how we suffer! Ribs is the best but if you cannot find something on this menu then you are just full of nonsense.

Maestro's is usually a restaurant of choice for celebrations in my family. The view is stunning and combination of beach and mountain is amazing, especially at sun set. As far as the food is concerned, it's a bit mediocre considering the price but service is good. The location does however make up for its flaws so still a worthwhile experience.

Great food, awesome service, and to top it all off, an amazing view of cape towns bay ????. If you're looking for a milf, this is the ideal location.

Terrible service and average, overpriced food. The view is amazing but would not go back

Go for the view. If it's not windy sit outside and admire the mountain. Not the best pizza I've had, but totally acceptable family joint. The service is not bad and the menu is huge! Not a huge favourite of ours but maybe because if we drive that far we feel we'd rather go somewhere nicer.

The two times I have been to this great restaurant we had great service and succulent food.
Definitely try the ribs if you eat out, it's a mouthful. Price on the food is a little expensive ( due to excellent location ) but its worth the visit. So spoil someone for an occasion , its the different thing to do.
Booking is a must even though you think it won't be busy.

Enjoy

Stunning beach and Table Mountain view! Great service and excellent food!

If that doesn't convince you not sure what would :-)

I have been here a number of times and enjoyed the following dishes, breakfast buffet, pizza and the stuffed baby calamari! The stuffed baby calamari is my favourite and I will go back just for that!

This is the perfect venue for a team lunch or dinner, kitchen tea, catching up with friends, or romantic sunset dinner with that special some one. All which I enjoyed at Maestro's. I might break my rule and take my hubby there again for a romantic dinner as soon as the weather is fit for sunset dining!

In terms of location, Maestros has the edge! Situated on Milnerton beach with spectacular views of the City night lights and the vast expanse of Blouberg, it is the perfect location for holiday makers.
As it has grown and expanded the restaurant lacks flow and feels somewhat disjointed. Service is very average.
The menu is vast and offers something for everyone. The steaks are very good especially those encrusted in olive oil peppercorns and mustard seeds. Certainly a favourite to go back for. Outside seating allows for great summer chilling especially with cocktails and pizzas. I was accompanied by a fairly large party of friends and everyone enjoyed their food. The timing was well synchronised. Parking is good and one feels safe.
It can tend to get very busy especially in season so booking is essential. Prices are a little above average but portions are generous presentation appealing and food quality satisfying.

There's not much I can say about Maestro's except that it's one of those places you have to try for yourself!

If your looking for a romantic evening out with gorgeous views of the ocean and table mountain a great atmosphere or just looking for a place to have a delicious lunch/dinner with friends and family this place swings both ways! What I love about this place is that it is so open, when you walk in it's a friendly, wide open space with tables everywhere which makes it easier to cater for bigger groups yet has the privacy if it's only you and your partner. They have space indoors and out!

I have never been disappointed with any of the dishes I have tried my favourite being a chicken curry pasta!
This is the one place you are able to try Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan they even have Pamela Anderson for those who still remember her, these interesting burgers are just a few of the items on their menu, they have an awesome variety with a bit of everything and that extra bit by naming their burgers after the stars...

attached is a pic of Jessica Simpson

After visiting here again recently... stick to the pizza, burgers and steaks... the other food is quite disappointing :(

I was always a fan of Maestro's and supported them for about 5 years but lately the service and quality of food has drastically dropped causing me to take a lengthy break from the restaurant.

I recently heard about their breakfast special for R25 and thought I would give them another shot. I was horribly disappointed with my experience though. With a number of other restaurants offering breakfast specials in the same price range in the area, I couldn't help but compare them (Spur, Joe's Easy Diner and Cafe Villagio all offer great breakfasts for under R 25).

My toast was burnt black and so hard it could be snapped apart, my eggs which were ordered sunny side up were terribly overcooked and my tomato was very undercooked. A friend who had also recently tried the same breakfast special also said the eggs were very overcooked.

On a positive note, our service was good and the view was amazing but not quite enough to get me back too soon!
