Review Dale's Black Angus Grill - Milnerton

10/10 would recommend the Harvest Culture Eaterie !! We had the most amazing dining experience tonight. A lovely atmosphere and a beautiful setting, combined with excellent staff, set the scene. The food was to die for. Every single dish felt (and tasted) like it was prepared with a personal touch - and the food was BEYOND delicious. They have a great wine list to go with the exceptional menu, and are wonderfully kid friendly. To top it off, I received a lovely "congratulations" dish (without request) as I was celebrating my graduation. This touch really made this place stand out as a restaurant that focuses on the patron. Harvest Culture is not just a place to eat, it's an amazing personal dining experience.

Really good food, wil definitely return. Server and manager went extra mile and made the birthday celebration special (just for everyone reading, we did provide the candles for them to put on the meal and the birthday girl got a special dessert). Well done for providing such an awesome experience, worth the price!

Absolutely delicious!! Not even loadshedding could stop them from delivering the best dishes and great service! Friendly staff! Management popped to the table a few times, just fabulous!

What an absolute treat! The team were friendly, kind and knowledgeable. We recently started our vegan journey and noticed some lovely options on their menu while browsing online. The team made a lovely milkshake from sorbet and almond milk which was a treat. We had the cauliflower wings, vegan schnitzel and the chocolate vegan cheese cake. It was plated beautiful and satisfied all the cravings. Best experience ever. Thank you so much for being incredible! We loved every moment.

Celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary here and loved the atmosphere, service and food. Robyn served us and she was a gem. Can't wait to go back and try the other dishes. Lovely to have a fine dining restaurant on our doorstep 💕🍹

Gorgeous food, excellent service, fab location and my favorite lunch companion. Reg, the manager, is so hands on and a real asset to the restaurant #lastmealbeforethegrind #myrideordiechick #harvestcultureeaterie

Wonderful! We celebrated by Grandmother's 70th birthday last night at your restaurant. Every aspect from enquiry months back, quick response on email and even assistance with setup and help on the day. From start to finish you were excellent and accommodating in every way. The manager is very friendly and does his job very well! Hats off to you. Every guest loved their food and as a chef myself the timing and waiting periods on a table of 17 was very fast as well as still being delicious and hot. Great skill and planning. Once again. Well done! We will be back.

We had a reasonable expection but ended up being really surprised. There was outstanding service from Rochelle, our extremely attentive waitress and the food was absolutely delicious. Don't let the portions fool you it certainly fills you up. An all round satisfying dining experience for Sunday lunch. We will definitely be making this one of our regular go to restaurants.

Went for my birthday, really sweet what they did. Vegan Burger looked fantastic and tasted really good. The CBC clover flavour beer not so good. The quality of the food that comes out is of a good quality.
Jonel Engelbrecht
Food is amazing. Service is great. The chef comes and greets you at the table and checks up on the tables. Very nice people and food. I had almond bakes camembert, fillet and cheeseake. It was amazing. The view is nice as well.

Great service.. friendly staff.. always having a great time. Burgers not so tasty ( just dried mince on a burger roll) will not recommend it , steak is very good. Eisbein Different story a need to eat absolutely the very best in Milnerton. Keep up the great service and thank you to all the staff for a friendly smile. Dale thank you..

The food is excellent. I ordered a 200gr Sirlon, and it was not a thick slice, it was soft and tasty and I should have ordered the 300gr, it was so good it was very more-ish. Then we opted for the pancakes...I would have liked the cream to have been beaten a little thicker, but then if you put cream in warm pancakes, it will obviously melt. I recommend this dessert. My coffee milkshake was really good. Wish I could afford to eat out every night at Dale's Black Angus Grill - so many choices and most definitely more value for your money than other steakhouses. Did you have to ask for a review right now...because I am visualising my steak (didn't fancy the extra 'crispy' chips) and am now drooling. Also need to commend the waitress (sorry did not get her name - dark skin, spikey hair) She was able to recommend items on the menu, and knew about each one that we asked about, and if she wasn't sure, she went to check and report back.

Fantastic friendly service and the food was excellent. I had a vegetarian platter that was superb and best in Milnerton - highly recommended. Thank you to all the staff.

I weekly eat a fillet steak medium rare at Dale's Black Angus Grill - and I would regularly suggest it is the best fillet steak in Cape Town. Mouth watering. The menu offers a choice of cuisine which should satisfy all diners young and old.
Tania Heydenrych
Overdone Eisbein left me eating on my own as I needed to wait for another Eisbein to be prepared. The person who was dining with me had eaten their steak and ended up watching me eat my meal. Not good!

Hi all! Love your place, the vibe is always great and one really feels welcome! I had a Perfect pizza yesterday and it was spectacular! What made it even better was the rockstar service from Kerry, our awesome waitron. She was amazing and perfect in every way and I can really commend her as an asset to an already great restaurant! We'll be seeing you guys again.

Best Mother's day treat ever... from my 89 yr old great Gran to 6 yr old granddaughter. The buffet was an excellent feast of decadence and the staff attentive and caring, many of whom are mothers themselves who sacrificed their own family time to make our lunch special. This day, a special memory we will treasure always. Our heartfelt gratitude to management, chefs and staff.

I have visited Dales on the 20th December after 4 years and I can proudly say they have never disappointed, from the food to the service is on point. I havent visited the toilets or the smoking area which people are complaining about. Loved it!!
Barry Hargreaves
Fabulous food and great service, the steaks were gorgeous, the best I've had for a long time. Brilliant service and best of all the price was excellent. Worth every rand !!!
Natalie Ann Crous
Myself and my friends went there to celebrate a birthday yesterday u could not complain about the service as there was not any will never recommend going there

Had the 21 spice reserve steak, amazing!!! 1kg challenge enjoyed by my partner cooked perfectly. Great staff, great wine madonna chard. Definitely visiting here again...
Petro Bester
Last night... First visit. Food was out of this world! Had the best service! Thank you Arthur!! Highly recommended!
Kayla Aitkenhead
Service was slow and when I asked for something it was an issue and I had to ask 3 different people before I could get the sauce I asked for. Food at the time didn't taste too bad, wasn't great either... that evening and early the next morning my family and I were either nauseous or throwing up. I won't go back there again
Emma Sham
Amazing grillhouse. The meat is of a fantastic quality. The ribs fall off the bone and the steak really is to die for. The staff are great. Will definitely recommend!
Ruan
Best steak ever. I had the speciality steak and it is simply unbeatable. I will definitely come back again. Keep up the good work guys. Don't ever let your chef go!
Douglas Miller
Managed to get a late booking for Valentine's day but the food wasn't as good as I have had before. The kudu with the 21 reserve sauce was dry and fairly overcooked. I felt that even though we had the set menu, that there should have been a choice of how the meat was cooked. The service was friendly but perhaps a little inexperienced.
Johan Van Dyk
Valentine's Day. Good service and good food.
I had the Super Reserve 21 - steak was medium as request slightly over cooked on the edges. Veg was still crisp. Sauce was delicious.
Recommended restaurant for steak.
Nicole Chapman
My all time favourite steak house with their special reserve fillet which is simply heaven on a plate... thinking about it gives me the warm and fuzzies :) This place offers top quality cuts of meat that simply melt in your mouth. The only problem is that while I'm dying to taste their highly acclaimed ribs, I can not seem to pass up on that special reserve, lol!
Eagle Expat
Good place. Attentive staff. Be wary of the drinks specials you will end up having more 😉. Very big portions too much for a single meal. Overall great experience.
1. Dales black angus in Milnerton
2. Not halaal
3. Price: R200 for 700gr ribs
4. Taste:Best tasting ribs in town an tasty onion rings
5. Quality: excellent
6. Service : friendly staff but we waited very long for our food even though the restaurant was close to empty
7. Ambience: Beautiful restaurant. Nice atmosphere to have dinner with family or spouse if the restaurant is more busy.
8. Will I return : Yes only because their ribs are life
9. Waiting time for food : very long
10. Why 3 stars? I tend to get "hangry" so waiting for my food for a long time without an apology is enough to knock off two stars.
Hasmitha Daya
Found myself in Milnerton, starving and I wondered upon this darling place.
Food, service and happiness are quintessential here. You are fed an imaginative combination of flavors with a smile. I did not feel suffocated by the staff, everyone is helpful and polite. Nothing is too much effort.
I really wanted dessert but was given a gorgeous chocolate covered fudge instead of the stock standard mint sweetie with my bill so I’m a happy gal 👏🏽
Deva Alexander
If you're a meat lover, this place is a must! They have a beautiful selection of melt-in-the-mouth cuts, served with a smile by very friendly waiters. Lovely wine selection too. Highly recommended!
Randy
Great food and atmosphere. The Christmas buffet is fantastic. Most of the menu is really good from steaks to pizzas. Also a great craft beer selection. The service is ok to good depending on who you get. I do feel some of the senior staff are a bit stuck up. Fortunately, the starters, mains and desserts are good value and quality
Harold Volkwyn
Dale's never disappoints. Once again excellent service, amazing steaks cooked perfectly and such friendly staff attending to one's table. It's hard to recommend anything specific because everything is superb.
Jessica Lawrence
Had the best time. The food was outstanding and the service was good. Good vibes. It was our anniversary and they made it even more special by surprising us with complementary dessert. The evening was a real treat.
Akira Wing
This stunning restaurant has a sophisticated, intimate vibe that really makes the experience quite an occasion.

We came for dinner on our last night in Cape Town and it was such a treat. I had the Supercut Beurre Du Cap, which had to be the best cut of steak I've ever had. It was tender and melt-in-your-mouth, and so flavourful. The bone marrow and horseradish foam on top had such a stunning flavour I couldn't get enough of it. For dessert we shared the Deconstructed Key Lime Pie, which was really good. A perfect end to an excellent meal.
Amy Reed
I love coming to Dale's Black Angus Grill. I have been to this restaurant on multiple occasions and every time, I have a more than enjoyable evening. The food is of amazing quality, the setting and decor is beautiful, the service is good, the staff are accommodating and the ambiance of the place is warm and inviting. Difficult to fault and definitely worth the price you pay.
Lucianrajah
An amazingly themed restaurant with a friendly host and staff alike. Happy to see local craft beer on the menu as well as reasonably priced spirits. The select-reserve steak is advertised on the menu as "the best steak you'll have". Naturally I was sceptical but opted to try it anyway. I must say; they were not wrong - the best steak I've ever had, bar none. I urge any steak lover to give it a go, you won't be disappointed.
Jomari Steyn
Really relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. Food was prepared in a very decent amount of time. Steak was perfectly cooked and the rosti with bacon was an interesting, yet delicious combination!
Ruan Hattingh
Great steaks!! We went there for dinner and had perfectly cooked medium fillets. Mine was with a delicious blue cheese butter sauce which went perfectly with the meat. My wife opted for their mushroom cheese sauce, which she didn't like due to it being very bland. (She then tasted my blue cheese sauce and almost finished it by herself!)

Friendly staff, (except for the girl who is probably still training, who brings the bread before the meal etc.) and a very nice setting. Will return every time I am in the area!

We drove quite far to go to century city, but my mom wanted to stop at Dale's Black Angus in Milnerton to have Lamb Shank. I was hesitant from the start as I don't like the setting but went in nonetheless. The waitress was friendly and Dale himself greeted us on arrival as he was having lunch with family himself. We asked to taste the Moroccan sauce the shank comes in and the chef immediately provided some to taste. It was a bit strong and my mom decided on the ribs instead. I had a 200g fillet which was done medium perfectly but came with a salad that I can really call a salad (few leaves, 2 slices of cucumber, 1 tomato). The food came with complimentary butternut which was a bit sweet and stir fried veg that was more onions than anything else and had bacon bits in... all in all I won't visit again
Mel Woudberg
Went to Dale's Black Angus for a work lunch and was very underwhelmed. The service was fantastic, but the food was very meh.... The steak was overdone and the malva pudding was disgusting, it didn't taste right at all
Dillon Kin
I can't believe the good reviews on here about Black Angus Grill. I've been past many times at the Paddocks mall and decided to try it on my wifes birthday.

The restaurant looks quite nice and upmarket but the food was a huge letdown. They have a 1kg steak challenge, it's very pricey. I think we paid over R300 for it. My wife ordered it medium rare, it was way overcooked. you can usually forgive that if the steak is good quality, but this steak was terrible, very sinewy, with lots of fat and it was very chewy.

I ordered their full rack "famous pork ribs", it was not good at all. The sauce tasted weird and the ribs had a sour taste. The ribs were dry and the meat did not fall off the bone (as you would expect from good grilled pork ribs). The pork ribs were also very expensive, I paid over R200 for a full rack.

The restaurant was basically empty so there was no vibe at all. I would recommend this to anyone, unless you want overpriced bad food.
Peter
And just like that, the Black Angus tops the charts with one of the best steaks in town. I'm extremely fussy when it comes to a good steak and it's always a pleasure stumbling across a restaurant that makes the steak worth the money you pay.

So why only a 3.5 and not a 5. The black angus has so much potential, however you get the feeling you're looking at a once strong establishment that is in need of a good renovation. Looking at the plate of food felt like a fine dining experience, however when looking up, your beautiful outside view has been blocked by a pub wall / barrier and the other view is the inside of a mall. Wine glasses and cutlery not fully polished and stains on the tablecloth. Overall we just could not talking about the potential we saw.

The good part of the Black Angus was everything else, food, service, foods presentation, price... Everything else just called for us to go back again and again. We will definitely be back for more steak and encourage any steak lover to not pass up this little jem as its worth the visit.

For casual, pub-style food with a decent seating area, I would recommend Dale's in the Northern Suburbs. Sometimes the place is very quiet, but I've seen it get busy on weekend nights. Service is prompt and efficient enough.

I've tried their calamari goujons, camembert and grilled prawns - all of which were quite nice and filling. They are a little pricy for the mains, but I haven't had any of their mains to comment on whether it's worth it or not. It's a good spot to have a relaxing evening, and it's one of my favourites in the area.
Ok Dale himself is a legend in the restaurant game and has been involved in many ventures and many restaurants in the area. This venue is very nice, nice pub with a real party atmosphere separate from the main dining area. The food is very good, I have had the ribs, burgers, steaks and more and never left disappointed. They also have a nice big wrap around deck outside for those warmer afternoons when the winds is not blowing. unfortunately the shopping centre itself is dull and a let down.
Jonathan Burger
We came this past Sunday (25 September) for lunch and was greeted by friendly staff. My father-in law and myself ordered the Big Five (which are 5 different venison steaks with a specific sauce for each piece of meat). I ordered mine rare and was cooked to perfection. One suggestion is that you maybe clearly mark which meat comes from which animal. My wife ordered the Gammon which she enjoyed. My daughters ordered a Hawaiian Pizza (it was big enough to feed a family of 4) and calamari starter. Both was great.
We had great service from Simon throughout our visit.
All-round a great experience.
Will defiantly be back!
Chris Canning
Must have been the worst steak I have had at a restaurant before. Sent my first plate back because it was so tough not even the steak knife provided could cut through some parts of the meat - however, did get a placement meal which was better but still not on a level I'd expect it to be. My mom's medium rare meat came well done. All in all, felt let down with the standard of the food.. Felt quite sick when I got home, so, unfortunately, won't be going back. The service was great which made it pleasant.
Hend Amer
Dale's grill is a hidden gem in the paddocks mall which we only discovered today. The service was excellent and the food was perfect or as my daughter described it " too good to be true". I just loved the whole experience and I am looking forward to our next visit
Susan Damster
Great food, great restaurant, great staff.
Portions are large and substantial, staff is friendly and helpful. Location is great and there is a play area in the centre and you can sit "outside" to keep an eye on your kids if you like.
Sean Noble
Trying really hard to see how you rate this place so highly, service was friendly but medium burgers were burnt to a crisp and so was the side of onions, the sauce was a bit thin but not bad. And the Angus beef was definatly fat deprived. All in all I'll rate them 0.01 above spur steak ranches
Gavin Coetzer
Long day on the road from JHB to CPT. Glad we found this place after checking into our accommodation. We were warmly welcomed and ordered our meal (steaks....it is an Angus Grill). Duane delivered our drinks and meals quickly and efficiently. All done exactly as ordered. Well done guys, keep it up.
Beverley Silkstone
Had a lovely extended lunch at Dale's Black Angus. Sirloin done to perfection and the meals of my friends where just as great. Relaxed atmosphere (we where not made to feel that we where lingering too long). Great service from our waiter. Thanks Josh.
Johann Malherbe
Black angus is a very well situated restaurant in royal ascot, the service is really good effective and friendly. All the food are well priced and the quality is of high standard.we had a very welcoming experience and will definitly visit them again.
Richard Best
The menu offered proper steakhouse fare, and the a selection of game cuts as well. There is a play area nearby for the kids and it is indoors, which is great for rainy winters. We were keen for the experience to be a good one.

The service was decent, but we found the food to be disappointing. The wife had the gammon, bacon, avo item, but said that it was killed by too much sauce and she could not finish it.

I tried the signature dish, the fillet reserve. I ordered it rare, but it arrived a little over done, and it was smothered, drowned in the sauce. I had no idea from the menu that it was served that way. It's a terrible waste of a great cut of steak.

The kids ribs were okay, but our son didn't like the sauce on them either.

Sadly we were disappointed.
SquatForPancakes
Had dinner here the other night with friends. Awesome experience! Best burger ever! Can't wait to try their pizzas! 😁 will definitely recommend these burgers to everyone!
JayRo
Really enjoyable meal. Service was quick and friendly. Very good menu and can definitely recommend thier steaks!! Had a camembert starter that was good, then had the special reserve fillet - amazing. Love my steak rare and this is one of the few places that I get exactly what I ask for! Brilliant!
John De Beer
So you get steakhouses then you get steakhouses. As the name suggests Dale's Black Angus pride themselves on their choice prime cuts of top grade beef they source. Dale, always settling for only the best, has mentored and trained his staff to be super friendly and incredibly helpful. This really does put the cherry on top of a brilliant menu. The food itself is amazing. Well made, beautifully presented, and just top-class. An amazing experience and left me with mans fond memories.
Glen Hunt
The number of times I've been here and Dale's has always impressed. The service is slick, effective, warm and friendly. Their 21 reserve steak is to die for as well as their ribs. I always have the tough choice every time I have to pick.
Coral Le Roux
Bog standard ' 80's steakhouse fare. Limp iceberg salad with chunky tomatoes, pre-doused in salad dressing. Ribs were ok. My husband had 3 game meats that he said were fair, but the smothering of sauces on them camoflauged the flavours. Service from our pleasant waitress was the highlight of the meal.
Adrian Kaplan
Love Dale's Black Angus. I just wish there were more options on the menu..beef ribs would be great! Can't go wrong with rump or sirloin...cooked to perfection every time. Service always top class!
Mornay Elizabeth Schoeman
The best steak ever! No. 21 just do it, it's divine. Service was attentive, and very friendly. Food is great, wonderful ambience, lovely night out. Will definitely come again.
Houston
Terrible focaccia,
It's just a raw piece of dough, completely smothered in garlic, glad I didn't order anything else, very friendly staff however I'm now online and pushed my meal aside, after one bite, and nobody has noticed, this seems to be normal in capetown

Lucien
Dale's came highly recommended and I can see why; really good food and decent wine paired with exceptional service. The Special Reserve "21" is really something special and deserves special mention.
Daniel Neal
One of our favourite places; the ribs are fantastic but my particular best are the pork dishes on the menu, items not usually found in my experience in Cape Town. Service is always prompt and pleasant. Easy to park and get to. You'll love it!
Jane Price
Best grill house I know! What I love most is the warm and homely atmosphere created by the ambience and friendly and efficient service. I have never waited longer than 10 minutes for my meal to arrive, and it has always been excellent. General quality of the meat is very high as it is sourced individually for the restaurant and not for a franchise or chain. This is what makes it most special for me. Pork ribs are unbeatable!
Rene Keller
Always have a perfect dining experience at this favourite of ours. The blooming onion is a must and hubby most certainly enjoys the steak or eisbein. Perfection at its best.
Prashni Maharaj
Ive always heard amazing things about The Angus Grill..until i experienced the contrary last Sunday. When you ask for a steak rare medium and recieve it well done...*sigh*..sad panda 🐼.. I didnt complain tho..the waiter was far too cute..🙊
Lara Maré
Amazing Amazing Amazing! Not one bad thing to say about this place! We shared the west coast mussels which were delicious, I had the bacon and Avo burger and hubby had the Eisbein, which he said was the best he's ever had!! Will definitely be back here, sooner rather than later!!! Service was good too, and we had a table close to the fireplace which was really nice on a cold night!!
LP Lombard
Ambience was lovely and my food was good (eisbein) , but my wife's food was a complete disaster. She ordered Nachos and it was burnt and rock hard. The manager said that it was a 'bad' bag of chips (nachos) but let's be honest, it was just burnt!
Don
Awesome steak and an awesome atmosphere. I had there signature steak and was not disappointed.

The only downside, was the guy who seated us and poured our wine, who was sniffing disgustingly and was quite off putting. Once our waiter took over, things improved.

We wikl be back!
Piglet
When I think Sunday lunch buffet, Dale's comes to mind.

So on this chilly Sunday, me and my family headed over to Dales, to tuck into the delish buffet.

They serve a red meat, a chicken, and a variety of veggies and salad.
Something for every taste.

My only issue is that service is a bit slow, as the restaurant still offers a la carte, and the buffet.

They also have a great bar, perfect for watching the game. Be it rugby or soccer.

Dale's caters for everyone, great place to take the family.
Robyn Van Der Merwe
Amazing food and had a great time with the family! The kids loved the play area just outside and we got to sit back and relax. Large party of 10 was easily catered to and there were no complaints.
Corli Van Der Merwe
Longtime favourite due to great atmosphere, friendly and active owner and delicious steak. Good wine list to back it all up. Not cheap but Angus meat isn't either so I'm fine with that.
Leanne Parker Munckton
We LOVE going to chill at Dale's mid-week for a few drinks. After a while the service standards really went down hill. We would be ignored by waiters, get the incorrect orders and generally felt like we weren't getting our money's worth.

BUT! Over the last few months, with the introduction of a new manager and an updated staff component the place is back to it's awesome, vibey old self and we couldn't be happier! Last night, we saw the staff all had new uniforms and our waiter, Jean, was attentive, friendly & polite. He also knows how to make a REAL Long Island Ice Tea (with crushed ice btw...) What a breath of fresh air.

To Allen and the team, thank you for turning the place around, we're regulars again!

Now if you guys could just sort out the bathroom situation...
Ralf Dillmann
Dale's restaurants have always been favorites with me over the years but super dissapointing this time. Service was slow and at times not existing and the food rather poor. The camembert for starters was cold and the ostrich fillet as main course drowned in a sauce which didn't compliment the meat at all. Not what i am used from Dale at all.
Heather De Bruin
Dale's Black Angus has long been a favourite of mine for the perfect steak. The menu is pricey but worth every cent when you taste the buttery soft steaks.

I love the Fillet Escargot and was disappointed to see it no longer features on the menu , however they were quick to oblige and very kindly made me my favourite.

I am embarrassed to say that I got so excited I forgot to take a picture ( slaps forehead). We were there in a group for a farewell and they made it super special with a message on our friends plate.

I also hit to try the baked Cheesecake for dessert and the Stuffed Mushrooms which were both yummy.

My meal cost me R360 which I find very pricey , but a good spoil once in a while.
Glynn Pearson
Be sure to try the Special Reserve 21 steak. Dale's is an awesome spit but I've notice the main restaurant floor can get quite hot and stuffy(especially if you're like me who needs some fresh air). Overall a great restaurant.
Paige Iona Errera
Food: Dale's is about meat, and the meat is good. It's always trimmed, cooked and seasoned very well. I was disappointed by their "famous" sauce, in fact I didn't enjoy any of their sauces, they only detracted from the meat as they were poorly made.
Wine: The wine list offers a lot of the steakhouse regulars as well as a few gems if you know what to look for (and if they have it in stock).
Ambience: Clean, comfortable and relaxed if not anything special.
Service: Very slack and not at all knowledgeable. We must have ordered our bottle of wine three times before receiving it.
Prices: The bill added up rather quickly, with the steaks being on the pricy side, and in hindsight the annoyance of always having to get the waitress' attention made the costs exceed the evening's enjoyment.
Max
Established grill house in a shopping mall.

Food is great, quite a selection on the menu, price is starting to be expensive for what it offers e.g. A 250g steak fillet with sauce and mash costs R180. A Windhoek Draught used to cost R22 but now it's R26 (yes, I take my beer prices very seriously)

Service is generally good. Amazing rib special on a Monday night. Only bar around the Milnerton Ridge area.

Accessible and easy to find. Theme/decor is rustic and charming and usually in the evening they project old black and white movies on a wall where everyone dines.

Overall not a bad place.
Jody Harris
Very lovely venue. Service a bit slack. Spare ribs excellent. Mushroom sauce for steak, grotty and the veggies terrible. Raw baby potatoes. Sadly not blown back.
Clive Goodheart
I visited this restaurant recently for a guys night out and I must say the food was superb. I was so pleased to see Ostrich Fillet on the menu as you don't find this everywhere and it never disappointed...lean, tasty and full of flavour and the sauce that accompanied it was great. My freinds mostly had steak and they all enjoyed it! Will def be back
Wahjid Nasser
Terrible, racist chef that loves shouting 'i own this place'. His own waiters are disgusted by him.
Jess Styles
Dales Black Angus is definitely the place to go if you want consistent service and affordable prices. The food is really good and very reasonably priced, although the atmosphere of being in a mall does detract slightly from the feel of the restaurant.

Their burgers are really great value for money, I just wish they would bring their pizza menu back!!
Wes
Meh, thought it improved but yet again, I am let down.

45 minutes for a burger?!?!

Yoh, something is very wrong.

Sad that good food is ruined by other, easily avoidable issues.
David M
My family and I went on a Sunday afternoon- we ordered chicken schnitzels, a fillet and burgers with cheesecake for dessert.

The food lacked the finesse we hoped to find with the forrestiere sauce served with the schnitzels and one of the burgers arriving looking as if it had been watered down with milk it was so runny (Maybe a result of it being Sunday?).

The only noteworthy item was the berry coulis served with the cheesecake. The rest of the food seemed bland and overpriced not that the cheesecake was especially good value at R50 a slice.

We had booked well in advance and yet were given an obscure table immediately adjacent to another group which was awkward given how many other tables were available. What we could see of the decór was earthy and welcoming.

The waiter was very attentive to the point of being "needy" which was strange but his enthusiasm seemed genuine.

Overall, a middle of the road experience. Perhaps my expectations were too high given other reviews here but what I hoped would be a quality dining experience felt more like a posh "Spur".

Not offensive. Not memorable either.

Dale's Black Angus, Milnerton

Excellent. After consulting the menu and remaining undecided, we finally opted for the buffet and it was a good decision. Ribs, fish, port, vegies. salad, soup, lasagne and much more for only R99 each. Service is fantastic, staff really know how to take care of the guests. So if you are hungry, go for the buffet. If not, chooses something off the menu. Either way you will not be disappointed. Thank you Dale.

A place for the discerning carnivore! Dale knows for his original restaurant Dales Place in Blouberg as well as Driftwood in Parklands, has made his mark in the Paddocks. This is a centre that needed some lifeblood added and Dale has done this. His steaks and ribs are truly superb. Service is excellent. Parking easy and available.
The décor is pleasant and seating cosy and comfortable. Although not very bust during the week at lunch time it does not lack atmosphere. Its really a place worth trying.....and returning!
The most delicious chocolates accompany the bill presentation-To sweeten the fact that it is a little pricey.

Not a great evening. Terrible response from the "head chef" (wearing front of house uniform) when he asked if we enjoyed our food and we said no. You do not berate your customers when they say they do not like the dish. The food also looked like it was right out of an 80s cook book photo shoot.

I've always been a fan of Dale from the days he had Dale's place in Table view, to Driftwood in Parklands and now Black Angus at The Paddocks centre, Dale has always managed to keep up the quality of the food never leaving you disappointed in anything you order.

The restaurant itself is beautiful with a very open atmosphere yet "fancy" so you can enjoy a romantic evening there or just pop in for a glass of wine and a beer after that crazy long week and the lunches are pretty darn good too!

A definite must try even if it's just once!
