This is my new favorite restaurant! It definitely serves the most amazing food! I am a pasta fan and this place has by far the best pasta I’ve ever tasted😋. I drive from Pretoria ever now and then just for pasta from here. Amazing service from the waiters and an awesome relaxed atmosphere😀.

Always enjoy our times at Adega Midrand. Nice environment in a quiet centre. The food is always great - in fact anything on the menu is really prepared well and will definitely satisfy you. I particularly enjoy the Chicken & Fish. The steaks and ribs are also great. This is also one of my favourite places for Sushi - haven't been disappointed yet. The service is great. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. So all in a all a great place for a meal, whether it's just with your partner, family or even larger groups.

The place serves very good food. Both sea food and your normal red meats. It would be nice if they include VAT on thier Menu Prices. I had a budget when I took my family out, we were about 9 in total, only to be surprised by the VAT on top of the set prices. All I am saying is rather include TAX from the :word go", on the Menu, makes it easy for me the customer to calculate. In fact that would give the customer right/true price.

The ongoing chicken specials for R99 is a winner.. They not shy with the sauce and the portions of chips the meals come with are great. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.. Great vibes in your considering a night out. Definitely an option if you tired of Nandos every Friday..

Adega Portuguese restaurant is located at Carlswald shopping in Midrand. The environment is family and kid friendly, it is a perfect place for family and friends to eat out and enjoy cosy environment. The dishes are quite affordable and the cuisine is quite tasty. It can be crowded on weekends thought, but that's a testimonial to the good cuisines. Their service is also quite good and you won't have to wait endlessly.

Fantastic specials available here. Nice atmosphere. Kind of a surprise to find such a nice place hidden in the heart of Midrand. Food quality is great. Waiters can be trained a bit better though.

Cosy place to have an intimate or family dinner. Food probably is not the best but their seafood selection is good and they also have a wide variety of wines and spirits on the menu. Definitely, try the chicken and prawn combo in my opinion. A meal for two with a starter, main course and a glass of house wine should be in the R 400- R 500 range.

I love the food and the vibe was quite and very relaxing. The service was top notch. If you want to have even more grand eating setting make a a booking for a table. You won't regret it.

Food is always great and definitely the best affordable quality seafood restaurant.

I’m so not happy with the service, we have been waiting for our food for an hour and even the manager there was not have helpful. They don’t even clear their tables I don’t recommended Adela Carlswald Decor Centre to anyone

Got to love the prawns as well as the chicken pasta.... I usually order the pasta as a take away when at work and it's always neatly packed and ready to indulge. It's creamy and full of flavor best with the hot sauce on the side as it can be quite spicy.

I was hosted by a business associate for lunch. Ordered the 200g Portuguese rump. Tasteless sauce. Ordered easy over egg. Got sunny side up. Steak was tough as an old boot. Told waiter. Did nothing! Chips were good. Never again here or any of there restaurants.

The food, our platter was drowning in sauce but cooked the food was cooked well I must say. <br/>The price were reasonable. <br/>The scenery was too dark and old school <br/>The service was mediocre.

Good Day,<br/><br/>On Tueday, 31st October 2017, we called the Midrand branch to book a table for 7 ladies on Sunday. We were told by a gentleman who took our call that they do not taking bookings for a Sunday and we just have to come in.<br/><br/>On Sunday, at about 3:30, we arrived at the restaurant and asked the gentleman that was manning the front desk that we would like a table for 6.<br/><br/>He said that he does not have a table for 6, even though there was a few empty tables for 4 in the restaurant. We asked if he could just add 2 chairs to one of those tables and he said no, he does not have chairs just standing around. He then showed us a book with bookings for the day and we then asked him how those people booked and he said telephonically. We mentioned that when we tried booking, we were told that that's not possible and the person became rude and arrogant, shouting "Mam, I don't have a table for you. Please leave", infront of other patrons.<br/><br/>I did not get a chance to get his name, but he wwas the person attending the front desk and taking bookings.<br/><br/>We all felt humiliated and like dirty, homeless people who came in there begging for food and disturbing other customers.<br/><br/>I would appreciate it if you could look into this and refer back me as I have never felt so insulted and embarrassed.<br/><br/>Your feedback is much appreciated.<br/><br/>Best regards,<br/><br/>Pasquelene

Nice spot. Welcomed by manager, sat down, drinks provided. Was there for business purposes - so maybe review a bit skewed. Wifi offered and worked. Rissoles were really good - had to ask for peri-peri sauce. Service slowed down during the afternoon. Eventually literally had to stand up and ask for service.<br/><br/>Food yummy - service, needs attention

Food is good. Atmosphere is awesome . But sadly the service was poor. The waiter was late on all dishes. I could understand if it was a busy evening but sadly it was not a busy evening . Overall would go for food but not as an evening out.

Lunch on a Friday afternoon with colleagues.<br/>The menu is like a book. <br/>Anyway we ordered Portuguese fillet steak 300g served with fries ( which were really yummy) Half LM style chicken and sushi ( very odd decision) My motto is never order sushi from a steakhouse outlet<br/>Food was excellent <br/>Service poor.

Not the best Adega restaurant i've visited, Bad lighting,Dirty Cutlery.😒Having gone down there for a Sunday Lunch we settled for the Buffet, which was not really up to par, Presentation of food really messy,(Maybe due to it being a self service station)Very limited items were on offer<br/><br/>Starters.<br/>I Had Prawn Rissoles as a starter, they were ice cold and soggy- gross Didn't bother with the rest of the items really<br/><br/>My sister had sushi which was mostly made of carlifornia rolls and they looked as if they were days old- eeuuw<br/><br/>Mains<br/>Again just regular chicken, prawns and what looked like a lamb curry which my sis had and could not chew nor cut.. Just tough pieces of meat.<br/><br/>I had the prawns which were alright, I mean prawns are just prawns right. A few veges here and there, Crumbed mushrooms (Epic Disaster) those tasted awful to me.<br/><br/>Dessert<br/>Wasn't so bad, had to order off the buffet, nothing on there seemed tasty, settled for the monks kisses (basically chocolate wrapped ice cream) that was really nice. <br/> <br/>That sums it all up, really nothing amazing about this place nor the food.Stuff was just alright, Nothing to write home about. Wont be in a hurry to go back to this place.<br/><br/><br/>

The Adega motto is simple: "Traditional Portuguese Cuisine: Always Open. Always Good."<br/><br/> Yesterday, this Adega restaurant imprinted itself into my mind for two (2) reasons:<br/>1. It is the worst Adega's that I have ever eaten at.<br/>2. It is the worst restaurant in Midrand to date that I have eaten at. <br/><br/>Presentation: Think poorly plated and messy looking food - I will let the photos do the talking. <br/><br/>Taste: Tough, fatty inedible beef cubes made up my Trinchado (that looked like it had been standing for quite some time) that I had to leave.<br/>My Camarao Alhinho was sadly cold when it arrived at the table so it didn't fair much better. <br/><br/>Interiors: Cold (which in winter isn't ideal). It was also completely empty at lunch time which should have been a sign that I took to heart. <br/><br/>Service: The service was okay. It would have been lovely to have a friendly and smiling waiter who looked like they wanted to be there though. Everyone looked fairly miserable which could have been because the place was empty maybe. <br/><br/>I cannot say that I would return willingly even though I work in the area. <br/><br/>For more, find me on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter: LaurasWorldza

The food...for me I find it homey and not over the top. Love love love their cream spinach!! Definitely my fav. Their portions are big, worth your money. And depending on the chefs mood, the food is usually good. Nothing too over the top. <br/><br/>Service is not fantastic but it's good. Love the fact that they don't hound you every 2 minutes but are still quite tentative from a distance. The ambiance is pretty relaxed, you go with your mates and have a good time catching up or go with your partner and still have a relaxed night out. Either way, you will enjoy this atmosphere regardless of who you with.

Years later and we can still count of this branch for an excellent experience. The staff were jacked up, polite, and knowledgeable. I love the fact that you need not ask for condiments, a huge variety is brought without you even asking. The prawns were huge, chicken was succulent (exactly what you expect from a Portuguese restaurant) and the calamari scrumptious. A must try. Not cheap, but worth the money.

One of our favourite spots to have fantastic chicken and prawns. Food is always delicious and flavour consistent. service is good but not great. Still a lovely place.the best branch I have been so far.
Eve
one of the best branches for me. I love their chicken, its done the best here. Their sushi is  also very fresh and neatly rolled.<br/>Ive been here many times before and have never eaten a bad meal here.
Debbie
Great food and friendly atmosphere. Prawns had great flavour. My partner had the prawn pasta which was delicious. Will come back here anytime.
Charmaine
This is definitely one of the best Adega restaurants that I have come across. Their food quality is consistently amazing! Keep it up guys! Lovely ambiance as well.

After spending the entire day at Hostex (and failing abysmally at being a chaarou by NOT tasting any of the freebies on offer) husband and I were starved. We ended up at Adega where the mushroom starter was totally not lekker. Tempura prawns were okay. But the grilled prawns were absolutely delicious. Worth braving the lousy service for. I'd come back for them.
Joan
Amazing food. I had the stuffed calamari starter and the prawn pasta. Both were perdectly done and flavoured. I also had a delicious cocktail called Death in the Afternoon. I will definitely be back again
TheOne
It took a while, but finally theOne has found a restaurant in Midrand which he approves of. The steak with the egg is a winner and so are the prawns and calamari.

Lovely dinner at Adega, I had the mussel starter in white wine sauce, chicken breast stuffed with spinach & feta. And not forgetting a divine Sally Williams noughat dessert. The food was exceptional, quite a vibey restaurant. Will definitely be back to sample more dishes of their menu.

I have an addiction to this prawn & chicken combo at adega...excellent value for money. This adega in Midrand is a nice one...well located, ample parking and really good service. The food was excellent today.
Passionateaboutfood
Best seafood in Midrand! The restaurant looks clean with new chairs and decoration plates. Will recommend to my friends....keep it up Adega!!!!

If I could score them zero I would... My tomatoe pasta was effectively heated canned tomatoes... Haven't had this food this bad in a very long time, rather go upstairs for excellent curry ...

My god, this is the place to find excellent service and mouth watering food. Our wonderful waiter Vusi-Vusi had us in stitches and our platter of prawns, calamari and steak was just the most beautifully presented item on the menu you could ask for. Well done guys- see you again!

I enjoy Adega, it's a well franchised restaurant, and their food is consistent. A colleague and I went there Thursday for a cocktail and supper. I was disappointed that they didn't have the pomegranate to make the pomegranate mojito, which I had been looking forward to. We both had the combo special, she the ribs and prawns and I had the chicken and prawns. The food was made very well and the prawns cooked just right! I waiter disappeared a little on us and unfortunately the manager did not once check in on our table, even though we saw him at other tables.

Adega is a family favourite, and the service is great. Both the calamari and chicken at Adega are favourites. Only downside is that you have to constantly keep chasing away flies while you eat.
Roland
This is a standard reasonable fare restaurant in midrand. The service is always good and food good for what you go for. Its the kind of place you grab a random lunch at and have a reasonable meal.

You would think a well known franchise such as Adega would have a generator especially with the country's current energy state- Nope, not Adega in Carlswald. More than half the customers were left disappointed on a busy Thursday afternoon when Eskom decided to load shed.<br/>My gran ordered the oxtail, hoping it would be accommodating to her rather fragile teeth. Instead she received meat that required effort to get off the bone. Maybe they were unable to finish cooking it due to the load shedding?!
Ben De Lima
l always have great chicken and prawns at Adega, If you're looking for the best seafood Adega is the place! Service is good and staff is friendly. I will definitely be returning.

This restaurant looks beautiful and somewhat sophisticated from the outside. I'm afraid I cannot say the same for the hygiene standards. I sat down to order but before I could do so, I discovered that the cutlery was filthy with food left on the fork. I didn't even get to try out the food so this review is based solely on my experience with the lack of hygiene. If you are willing to overlook that then perhaps you might want to give it a try.
Nomagugu
The service was extremely slow to a point were I forgot that I was hungry. The poor waitress had to serve 10 people all by herself which led her to making mistakes on our orders. Non the less the food was great.
Chante Lindes
Upin arrival, we had to wait for the group of waiters to stop debating in their language before being given a menu and table.... the rest of the night we felt like an inconvenience to our waiter which is probably why we won't go back.
Tyler
My fiancé and I had the chicken pasta and the queen prawns. It was absolutely divine. We also like the ambiance of the place. Definitely will be back. PS: the dessert cocktails are a must try
Nicola Slyper
This is definitely one of the best value for money Portuguese restaurants around. The food and service is fantastic, we always feel so relaxed coming here.
Mario Panico
Service is pathetic. One had to wait for ever for ones food. Our waiter was upset because we did not leave a tip. Tips are given for good service. It's not an expectation
Verushen
Service is terrible. Manager is rude and arrogant.

I've been to Adega's a few time and a few different branches and I have always enjoyed their food.<br/><br/>They offer great specially with Sushi and always get what you pay for. <br/><br/>Unfortunately they closed down in Tygervalley but when in Gauteng I always take advantage and be sure to visit them before heading home!<br/><br/>Delicious food, great vibe and great service. Give them a try! :)
