Review Lucky Bread Company - Midrand

How to make a little girls day!!! The waffle was incredible! Absolutely delicious! Make sure you never give away your amazing waffle recipe! What she didn’t finish she had for breakfast and heated really nicely in the toaster! Go for the waffles people!!!
PS
Set on the upper level, adequate seating, coffee well prepared. Ordered the Zulu Breakfast, replaced bacon with avo. Widevrange of breads. Great for breakfast or all day. Great service. Good customer relations. The scones simply out of this world. The tea was in a lovely bottle not to forget the milk in a cute little bottle.

I must admit this sandwich was absolutely delicious. Every single bit was so good and full of flavor. Our waiter was really friendly and helpful and when asked what he recommends he could tell us and I chose his recommendation. It was really clean. Well done guys for making us feel at home. 😊
Prince Samuel
The spicy chicken melt is my absolutely favourite! They sometimes over toast the sourdough, but still a winner in my books!

Stopped here with my partner for breakfast and what a pleasant surprise! These dishes were prepared to absolute perfection! Some innovative combinations that were executed better than expected. We've also ordered sandwiches through food delivery services in the past and those did not disappoint either. Well done to all the staff for ensuring the customers are treated well and that the high standard/quality of food is maintained! Thank you for a lovely experience.

Now this places rocks an epic menu. Their open sandwiches are to die for. The salted caramel milkshake is brilliant. The service is excellent. You just can't go wrong here. They're well located for a quick chill out. My new favourite cafe.
Vhulenda Makananise
Loved this cafe, they serve the best sandwiches & freshly squeezed juices. I can't wait to return here. The waiters are friendly, they were quick even with the cafe being busy. I definitely would recommend you to stop by for a quick bite before your shopping.

☕️Coffee: One of the best coffee joints in Johannesburg. Don’t be fooled by it’s unassuming location. Based on the top level of Mall of Africa, at the exit of the escalator, center of the food court. Lucky Bread has a wide range of healthy, vegetarian and delicious light meal options. Freshly baked bread, indie playlist and strong coffee make this place a vibe 😎

Lucky Bread is an interesting little food place in the middle of Mall of Africa. They have some good coffee and milkshake options, but their breads ate absolutely what differentiate them from other places. A ciabatta cheese melt with steak ended up being the culinary highlight of my Sunday while I was there. Outstanding flavors and texture, well worth eating. That said, the Mall of Africa is a pretty busy place and gets frankly uncomfortably overcrowded by lunchtime on a Sunday after payday, so if crowds or long wait times bother you, do be advised you may wait a bit for your food, though the staff are friendly and pleasant to interact with.

Their Tea Ices beat anything I've tasted thus far ! From texture to taste every sip brings in a new and fascinating facet of the drink . You're also greeted by kind smiling faces from the moment you enter. I would definitely recommend !
Saranne Lourens
The coffee is top notch and the food delicious. We had a salami and cream cheese on ciabatta bread as well as chicken mayo. The freshly squeezed fruit juice is divine. Staff are friendly too.
Quint Kloppers
Great shop front finishes. Vibey industrial like feel. Great food, excellent coffee. The cheesecake us highly recommended. Artisanal bread available freshly baked.
Michelle Walstra
Excellent value for money with delicious sandwiches on artisan bread. I also loved the presentation of the meal, as well as the general vibe. I also had one of their buttermilk scones the following day and it was incredible.

Fantastic little cheat day heaven! Amazing sandwhiches and vegan options too. The staff are friendly and very accomodating to special dietary requirements. The quality of the food and the portion sizes were perfect for that getaway lunch/coffee date with your friends. For a chai latte and a sandwhich we averaged R160 per person with a R40 odd rand tip for our awesome waiter. Keep up the good work Lucky Bread 🍞 Company!
Gina Labriani
Come early to the African Mall just to have a breakfast and a cup of cappuccino at the Lucky Bread. You can also design your own breakfast. The shop has lovely bakery that serve and sale delicious desserts. On the top of that. The shop is playing groovy music. 😀👍🌈 The waiter is nice and very helpful.🤘
Thomas Coggin
What a wonderful find! Really great sandwiches, and such delicious, freshly-baked sourdough! Service super friendly and efficient. I hope you open more of these closer to Joburg!
Esayas Girmay
Good breakfast, a bit different from common menus you find elsewhere and different in a good way. Service is excellent. Will come again.
Michaela Kupsamy
Best sandwich I’ve ever had!
Jillian Nyakane
Unfortunately I forgot the name of the man who helped me. When I told him that I was feeling like a very healthy meal, he suggested the mushroom sandwich and promised “You will never forget it and you’ll come back for more”. I’m my mind I hmmmphd.😄<br/><br/>Boy, was he so right!! I’ll definitely go back for more.It was so delicious with the sourdough bread. 😋😋😋😋<br/>The service was also quick with very considerate staff as I waited for my take away sandwich. 👍🏾👍🏾
Lucy Wu
There is plenty of vegetarian dishes which can be made vegan. The waiter was super friendly and helped me to make a vegan dish. The prices are reasonable and I'd probably come back again.

First time at the mall of Africa and was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! Their salads are absolutely scrumptious and prepared with the freshest ingredients. Will definitely be back to try their delicious looking “melt downs”

Lucky bread has been one of my favorite places for long. Amazing scones and sandwiches! But the quality of the coffee is inconsistent - it can be the best cup of coffee or the weakest or sometimes just sour which is so disappointing.
Casey K
Superb food. Great service. I don't really like places inside of malls but it's a nice place to go to after trotting around the mall. Coffee was burnt and had to be sent back.
FatCake101
Love this cute Cafe thing, upstairs in Mall of Africa. They have really good sandwiches, which is filled with so many toppings and quite different. The service is slow, which can be improved. The staff are quite friendly though.

Situated in top level mall of Africa we came after parkrun.I had peanut butter, chocolate and banana smoothie and my friend a coffee.Coffee quite good and smoothie filling. Also had chocolate and cheese croissant both tasty.
Keabetswe Jessica Ramatsie
The Food is delicious although the Rye bread was a little on the thick side. They took the cheese out of the Philly sandwich which was great for me. However the service was a little slow it took 15minutes to get water and coffee
Bronwen Davies
Exceptionally good service, exciting menu, delicious food, lovely and clean.<br/>The coffee was heavenly😍<br/>So many thoughtful touches (cutlery and crockery-wise).<br/>Ronny was our waiter, and he definitely deserves a special mention!<br/>Absolutely loved the whole experience.
Tasmika Amin
Stopped by for a quick coffee. Always a bit hesitant to choose this spot due to the seating being pretty much open along the the walkway in the mall.<br/><br/>Service was efficient and friendly.<br/><br/>Iced coffee and fresh juice was great. Tried the milktart waffle and it was nicely done. I'm not a huge milktart fan but I did enjoy it - Cakey waffle base with milk tart custard on top. Quite a large portion size as the pic shoes just half so perfect for sharing.<br/><br/>All in all, pleasant experience.<br/>
Vinolin Naidoo
I’ve been hooked onto the grilled ham and cheese croissant. Seems like they add mustard to it, or horse radish...whatever it is, it works! I’ve been craving for ham and cheese croissants some visiting Melbourne, and this place makes it perfectly! Love the service too!
Saul Ben Smith
Great bagels, great teas, just nice generally, i also like the "sit in the mall" thing but its hella noisy and i struggle to hear over the buzz. <br/><br/>The coffee is typically jhb and crap.
En.ig.mat.ic
Their breads and pastries are so incredibly good. Coffee is great too and so are the shakes. Salted caramel milkshake is heavenly... so are the cronuts and the custard filled pastry. Spoil yourself, Its damn good especially on a cheat day!
Bianca Van Der Merwe
We always pass Lucky Bread Company in Mall of Africa, but never stop to have a bite. Yesterday we decided to give it a try, and boy were we surprised! It was amazing!! The food is tasty and well presented. <br/>We will definitely be coming back here!
Eat Like A King
Delicious starchy options. When I’m NOT in the mood to bake bread 🥖, they are my one stop shop - both the sour dough & ciabatta are great. Croissants 🥐 are fabulous but the cruffins could do with a bit more filling. Either way, they’re good is quick, delicious and unpretentious 👌🏼
Clackson Chisi
Everyone should just pop by, Freshest a warmest reception you could every ask for. I think their Tarts and Cheese cake Are the best around. The presentation and that sorta vintage look feels genuine.
Moolo Kanyanga
Lucky Bread is the place for you to get your bread on. From breakfast, lunch and dinner. You are sure to have yourself a healthy meal as well as there most amazing selection of deserts.
Harsha
Love this place! They have amazing sourdough bread and their mocha coffee is super yum! Great value for money and service! Would definitely recommend for a business meeting, a social breakfast/brunch or even a solo work session.
Priya
Wonderful vibes place with excellent coffee as well. <br/>They have a wonderful variety of breads. <br/><br/>We ordered a toasted cheese and tomato and it was a decent sandwich. <br/><br/>Nice chill spot.
Kat
Delicious sandwiches well prssented. Love the setting / seating arrangements around the escalator. Great services from the waitresses and barista' s.
Sphamandla Shilubana
Location not ideal. I'm not a fan of dining where people are walking by when you're eating. The food is okay, and there's not much service to speak about. I prefer Tribeca or Life Grand just up the passageway towards the exit. With that being said, I would prefer to get a quick bite to eat or on the go rather than go to a restaurant because the food isn't at all bad although I did previously say it was okay. And that's that; okay....
Shannon Correia
Stunning set up and a great stop for coffee and a bite to eat while shopping. The affogatto was the favourite. The smoothie was smaller than expected but tasted nice. The table service, albeit friendly, was quite slow on the busy Saturday morning.
Simon Lee
I stopped by Mall of Africa back from Pretoria to Johannesburg and pulled into this restaurant for a light lunch.  <br/><br/>I feel that because of the way the tables are spread out, it did constitue a slower than normal service.  After I have seated myself on one of the tables, it took at least 5mins or so before the waitress came to me.  And thereafter when i finished my meal it was another 15mins or so before she came back to clear my table.<br/><br/>As for the food, I had an interesting drink.  An iced rooibos blood orange drink which had a very tart and interesting flavor.  The salmon bagel was good, with nice tasting smoked salmon and delicious dressing accompaniment.  Although the portioning of the food is decent but came really plain with just the bagel on a board.<br/><br/>All in all a decent offering.
Abel Mukwevho
They have the best carrot cake. I'm the biggest carrot cake fan ever alive, so I know the BEST carrot cake when I have one. And these guys have it. I had their cheesecake too, it's awesome. The only problem is that their cafe is in the middle of the mall; a little uncomfortable to sit. But I don't mind. Their cake is worth the uncomfort.
Giovanna
Decided to be adventurous and try out a salad in a new restaurant. In the middle of the mall. Started with a raspberry ice tea. Turned out to be incredibly sweet. Similar to syrup. But lovely bar service sorted that out for me asap. Lovely vibe. Ordered the Tuna Niçoise Salad. Absolutely adore the presentation. Asked for it to be take away! Love it. As for service. A bit slow. There's no genuine concern for the customers time. Waiting period for my waiter to acknowledge me and had to ask if he'd put my food through because he didn't communicate much with me. <br/><br/>Service needs to be a bit faster ;) and more concern when it comes to the smaller things. <br/>😛 will definitely return and test the service soon.
Vanessa Manugu
I always like the open air feel of Lucky Bread Company. Stopped by for a hot beverage and pastry on a late Monday night. It wasn't that busy.<br/>Sat down and ordered a cruffin and a cappuccino. I was expecting the cruffin to blow my mind but to be honest, I prefer a croissant. It was very fresh nd crispy though. The cappuccino got cold in less than 5 minutes, the foam didn't help keep it hot at all.<br/>Service from our waitress Tasha was good.<br/><br/>Joy is very friendly and quite knowledgeable when it comes to recommendations.
Malebati Hemmy
Bitter sweet, the food is good but we had to wait for over 40 minutes for sandwiches and it was not packed by their standards. Will try again and see
Saltnsas
Great spot for a pastry or sandwhich while shopping....especially if you want to avoid the overcrowded restaurants outside. Their food comes out nice and quick. Yummy coffee. Their flourless coconut cake is amazing and definitely a must try. Their breads are crispy and fresh.
Santana De Melo
Been there several times and every time I order the spicy chicken melt down on sour dough bread - I am yet to be disappointed. <br/>They also serve a freshly pressed orange juice which I always love. <br/>Conviniently situated with modern decor and reasonable prices.
Shabnam Khan
Love the style and set up of this place. It's a great spot to sit and watch people go by. We stopped by for a late afternoon coffee/snack. It wasn't busy, yet the service was a little slow and somewhat average. The hot drinks were warm when they arrived. We shared a slice of cheesecake and carrot cake. Both cakes were delicious and fresh. I would recommend the carrot cake - one of the nicest That I've eaten.
Ulrike.kloppers
Went for a cup of coffee and a light lunch with my family after our movie. We were helped as soon as we got there, and the service was absolutely great. Staff was friendly and just a pleasure to deal with. Our sandwiches was fresh and delicious, and the portion size was decent. All in all a great place for a quick light lunch/coffee.

We happened to be at Mall of Africa and were looking for a place to go grab a quick lunch. We've been to the Lucky Bread Company at the airport so many times and we absolutely love their pies so we decided to go to the one at Mall of Africa - only to find out that they don't make the pies at this particular restaurant. We were quite disappointed but decided to stay anyway.<br/><br/>To drink, I ordered the raspberry lucky pop soda. It was a little on the sweet side but very refreshing. I also loved the frozen grapes that they threw in. I didn't know what I wanted to eat but eventually settled on on a standard cheese and tomato toasted sandwich on ciabatta. The sandwich was quite small but it was both delicious and beautifully presented.<br/><br/>There was a bit of a wait for a table as it was fairly busy and the overall service was a bit slow. I'm not mad about the way the tables are placed along the two aisles of the mall as everyone can see you eating but other than that, it's a great place to grab a quick bite in between shopping!
Mark Behrens
I was really impressed by the service and the food this past Sunday on my first visit with my wife. The friendly waiter gave good advice on our choice of the bread and cheese platter to share. at R130 I thought really good value as we couldn't finish it between us! Delicious cheeses and fresh bread with olives, grapes, nuts and pickled beetroot and marmalade. We had iced coffee which was delicious, not too sweet as they often are. Looking forward to trying some of the other items on the menu
Jaime The Jambo
This place is great, the sandwiches are crafted and really tasty, made with fresh ingredients, a little on the pricey side, but, I must rave about their drinks and coffees- They are excellent. I had the watermelon and mint fresh made juice, and I practically inhaled it. Definitely worth a stop, even for just a juice. Love. Jambo.

Had lunch a few weeks back at Lucky Bread at Mall of Africa. Every table was occupied but we only had to wait 5 mins for a table. I was excited to try the pies as my husband had one at the airport branch . Sadly the Mall of Africa branch does not make the pies. I had the Lucky breakfast melt. Our food took long to arrive. The sandwich was filling but the hard boiled egg made the sandwich dry. There Lucky Pop Sodas are delicious and refreshing.
Monochrome
Lovely restaurant. Have been here quite a few times to grab a coffee and sandwich. Excellent concept. Tables are not ideal as very close to people walking by and your bag or cellphone could get snatched. Coffee is great & food is freshly prepared & well presented. Staff are pleasant. Definitely recommended for a quick coffee
Dani
Lovely little restaurant in the middle of the mall <br/><br/>The tables are in the passages of the shopping center which is nice to see the people walikgnoast yet adds elements of skepticism as you can't put your phone on the table and it's a good idea to hold on to your bags. (I do know that this is unfortunately he place where we live. Not complaining. Just saying)<br/><br/>He food is nice. Nothing outstanding. But it's really different <br/>I prefers the Toddy cold brew coffee latte. It was very bitter tasting. Not what I was expecting <br/><br/>Service was average <br/>Will go back for a bite to eat if I'm in the area
Vishal Mistry
Went through to Lucky Bread, and unfortunately they don't do the pies like they do at the airport. So I asked if they could make me a BLT (not on their menu), which they happily made for me (+1 for customer service). The BLT was delicious on a toasted bagel bun,  with generous amounts of crispy bacon.
Stacey Norsworthy
Quite a trendy place to stop for a light lunch. Really enjoy the smoothie's at this place. The sandwiches are good. Coffee is 👌🏽. They also have a great range of sweet & savoury goods to buy as take-aways.
Andria
Lucky bread is lovely place to enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee. Service is average and the food is freshly baked and has a homey feel when ever you take a bite. I would recommend lucky bread to you and your family.
Deeregie
Stopped for a quick bite to refuel while shopping, the fresh juice was a hit and the croissants too. Loved the location as I could just watch the hustle and bustle of the mall from my seat.
Margarida Lázaro
Amazing!!!! Fresh ingredients, amazing presentation and healthier choices.<br/>A lot of fresh bread, beagles and croissants. To die for! <br/>Nice staff also! <br/>
Chantel
I really feel sorry for the waiters here as you just sit down and hope they see you and they are very attentive. The Danish pastries are Devine fresh light and Delicous the fresh orange juice is equally delicous. Will return to try one of the sandwiches <br/>Everything looks fresh and delicous
Pierre Fick
Odd placing and the service needs a bit of a boost.<br/>The pros<br/>The coffee is amazing and if my sandwich had a bit more mustard on it, it would have been amazing as well.<br/>I had the man sandwich, the price might be scary but it's worth it, to bad it lacked mustard to make it perfect.<br/>I will be back and get me some more frozen coffee and the man sandwich V2 (I am ordering it with some extra mustard)
Louise Alexandra Castle
2nd rate sandwiches . Processed cheese ! A dozen staff talking and no management on floor . Very bad service and take it or leave it attitude !
FoodiewhippedSA
Great place to relaxing in this huge mall of africa. Pleasant setting and great coffee. Freshly baked goodies which makes it very hard to choose from. Waiters are friendly and always willing to assist in making recommendation on what best to eat or drink. We had the chocolate brownies it was amazing and just perfect.
Fareed
This is a really pleasant place in the heart of a mall. The food is fresh and the bakes are to die for. It's definitely a must in such a commercial setting
Valery Mthunywa
Food; A nice light snack or lunch, really tasty and the juice is fresh but there is no sparkle about the food.<br/>I would go back to give it another shot or try something different from the Roastbeef and sweet chili on sourdough hot sandwich. <br/><br/>Scenery;not comfy on the bar stools.. your knees hit the counter so it is not really a place to sit I would advice a quick grab and go.<br/><br/>Service; Standard
Eve
Really liked this place, located along the railings of the escalators. It has an authentic vibe of a coffee and artisan bread store, with a good menu with twists on well known staples.<br/><br/>I stopped here for brekkie and although the waiter got my order wrong I was so hungry I just ate what she brought me.Suffice to say it was delicious!<br/><br/>Their coffee was also top notch.A little highly priced on the food menu side I think
Nkhensani
I've fallen in love with their spicy chicken and avo sandwich! Really great flavours. Party in my mouth. And their green juice is the best I've had to date, the mint, pineapple, apple and cucumber really overpower the kale which is great. Definitely plan on returning.
Neeta Raga-D
Great coffee, love the quirky mugs they served in, it's a great location to sit and watch shoppers. The service is great and staff are friendly.
Emma Verster
Yummy drinks. Yummy treats. <br/><br/>The best way to miss the horrible afternoon traffic and relax after a long day! My first time visiting the mall of Africa and I was so pleased to find one of my favourite cafes! I had a delicious berry and banana smoothie and my brother an Americano and jam doughnut - all of our orders hit just the spot! <br/><br/>Always a fan of lucky bread co. they never disappoint!
Megan Fyffe
What a lovely surprise in the middle of the Mall of Africa most noticeable by the aroma wafting down the corridor! The countertops are stacked with pastries galore each beautifully presented and then menu offers a variety of sweet and savoury snacks. I opted for the milk tart waffle and was not disappointed- whoever came up with the idea was a genius! The creamy custard of the milk tart topping on the soft and fluffy waffle was the most satisfying bite of food imaginable! The flavours worked so well together and the waffle made a perfect base substitute. Secondly we tried the jam doughnut which was slightly more of a let down than the waffle as the jam wasn't sweetened, which for some may be ideal to compliment the sweet doughnut but for me drew a harsh contrast. <br/><br/>Overall a great experience and can't wait return to try more of the delicious looking pastries! <br/>

We popped in to the Lucky bread company on Saturday looking for a quick bite to eat and a coffee. We went to the bar to order, where we were told we need to sit down and a waitress would take our order. 10 minutes later, had to call a waitress, ordered two basic zarmies on Rye and ciabatta- 30 minutes later- no zarmies or coffee. Went back to the bar to inquire. Minutes later our food appeared. The one sandwich was burnt and both were on the wrong breads. The coffee was luke warm. We asked for the bill twice, following which we went to the till ourselves and asked for the bill. My friend and I paid separately. My bill was R100 for a tiny little sandwich and a cold coffee. Are you actually kidding me??? What a complete rip off. The place has potential, and looks delicious from the outside- but wow, with prices and service like that, I certainly won't be back!
Yana TD
I had a hot roast beef sweet chili sandwich. Really??? Is that the amount of roast beef you put inside? And just one toast portion for 65 rands? Maybe you should walk around other places to get an idea of portions for this price in SA. Even tashas would give more for this price. And btw, that roast beef tastes like cupboard and impossible to chew! <br/>When I asked the waiter about smoothie, what it was made of, she replied "I have no idea". "Very professional"!
IngridUniqueness
Serves good quality coffee and fresh bread!!! Really a great snack while on the go. They offer a variety of freshly baked goodies. Friendly warm service.
John
We both had a breakfast toastie. One was incorrectly prepared but nevertheless enjoyable. Service was more mechanical than friendly. A pity as this diminishes from decent food and a nice setting.
Joy-Ann
Not very impressed with the food. Sit down portions expensive!!! Tall coffee served in paper cups! Coffee tastes good though. Staff exceptional and friendly. Don't think I will rush back
Nicola Alexandra Stevenson
Delicious berry smoothie, all natural berries and nice! The roasted aubergine toaster on sourdough was to die for! My dad had the roast beef on sourdough and that was amazing!! Everything looked and tasted spectacular! We even bought a bread for home!! Service was great and so was the layout and appearance!
Lizanne
For a snack break Lucky Bread is ideal. Its out of the crowded areas of the mall.<br/><br/>The smoothies are fresh. And the sandwich was also super cheesy and packed with flavour.
Carien Jakovljevic
We sat down for a sandwich and it was quite nice. The service was excellent! I had the spicy chicken and husband had the roast beef, both on sourdough. They were super stingy with the meat, but the flavours were nice and the bread delicious. As a take away I had the pistachio cake - OMG was it delicious!!!! Husband had the custard slice and he loved it as well!
Michele Cicognani
This funky coffee pit stop restaurant, in the Heart of Mall of Africa good tunes great coffee and fresh juice for the diet peeps. Food and pastries are great. Only thing you sit with the passers by, unless you sit at the coffee bar.
Cristina Melosi Scola
So refreshing to see bread like this. I just couldnt resist trying one of their cakes. We tried the carrot cake which was rich, mouthwatering and full of crunchy nuts. The coffee is freshly ground. We also bought the grissoni bread sticks and croissants qhich were freshly baked and buttery. Great place, great vibe. Will be back.<br/>
Tam Loves Food
As the tagline says, it's damn good coffee! I didn't have enough time to sit and enjoy one of their yummy looking treats but if the coffee is anything to go by, it's worth it! Will be back for sure. Also, the little bottles that they serve milk in are just too cute.
Vanessa Bosch
The lucky bread stand is appealing and the first point of attraction, however my first impression didn't last long. The seating is a bit of a free for all as there is no system or waiters to help you to your seat. The service is friendly and prompt. The food portions are very small and quite overpriced but was of a good quality and the ingredients seemed to be fresh. We ordered a waffle however the ice cream was already melted when we received our order. The restaurant probably does well as patisserie/ coffee shop but don't expect to cure your hunger with the food offerings available.
Suhail Timol
Yes realy enjoyed their cappuccino although cold, the waffles were delicious and pricing is reasonable, the presentation is very modern, nice cutlery, and the location is perfect inside the mall of Africa
Tshidi
Very convenient location in the Mall of Africa, amazing Mochas...great menu items. I fell in love with this cafe😎 Will definitely go back and try some of the salads on their menu.
TebelloRapau
Our first time at mall of Africa and after touring the mall it was nice to relax and grab something quick to eat at this lovely place, fresh food, classic sandwiches and some very tasty pastries ! The staff is very friendly and clued up on the menu, will definitely go back again soon
Kevin Barrie Levy
First impressions matter...the start to get a table is a bit chaotic and unorganized, however once you are seated and served by the friendly waiters you are in for a treat. Delicious food and refreshing drinks - the cold pressed coffee is Devine and the breakfast pressed sandwich fab! A treat for any time of the day...
Fanie
We came here to the mall and wanted to have a light meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the innovative menu. The mall was very busy but we didn't wait long to get a seat. Our meal was delicious, with great portion sizes. The service was great considering how busy they are. We will come again.
Erasmus Bart Sihin
Excellent coffee! LBC offers a variety fresh baked bread and pastries, if you don't mind the carbs this place is for you. I tried the roast beef and sweet chilli hot press while my wife had the egg mayo sandwich. Both tasted good and you can choose what bread you want it served on. Waiting staff are friendly but service was a little slow. Overall LBC is great for a coffee and a quick bite, however I didn't like the open layout of the restaurant set in the middle of the mall, I'm not a fan of shoppers browsing and pushing by whilst you're trying to enjoy a meal. I will definitely be back for another cuppa though.
Mpho Mograin Lebepe
Becoming one of my fav places to grab a quick cup of java.<br/><br/>Setting / Location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br/>Coffee ⭐️⭐️⭐️<br/>Food: well I've only had their cake so far(freshly baked).<br/><br/>I'm sure to add on to the review with my future visits.
Melanie Meyers
Great service! Friendly, welcoming staff who are eager to please and know their products well! Had a "Cruffin" for the first time and it was absolutely amazing.
Russel Roth
Cannot rate fairly as I only stopped in for a quick coffee , This mall seriously lacks coffee shops particularly outside. One will be opening soon but not enough , anyways , coffee was very good and service excellent. Look forward to trying the food
Ndumiso Dlamini
Great all round- seriously delicious food, pour over coffee is a must, great amenities i.e. Cutlery, presentation boards, espresso cups and saucers etc only issue- staff could be friendlier
Sally Downie
Popped into the Mall of Africa Sunday morning for breakfast and a quick 'look see'. The centre wasn't busy as we were there early but the Lucky Bread Co was buzzing - I was drawn in by the gorgeous pastries and croissants on display .. We got a table without having to wait but the take away queue was quite long. We ordered coffee which took a while to arrive and one cappuccino was cold! Kids had chocolate pastries which were lovely and fresh, I had Zulu breakfast and the other 3 had the Philly Beef Melt. My Zulu breakfast was beautifully presented and very yum, the melts were also rated good but phew !! R75 for 2 boiled eggs, bacon and cheese is expensive and the melts although good were relatively small and also pricey. Food is definitely good and I will go back but be prepared to pay above average prices for breakfast ! They have a good spot but it is at the top of the escalator and I watched it get a bichaotic as people queuing for tables and take-aways started getting in the way of the escalator traffic !?!?
Sharima Bramannan
I've heard so much about this place that I had to try it. It was way too busy to get a seat so I opted for a take away cappuccino instead...it was really really good. They have a good selection of bread and pastries which I will definitely try next time. They definitely need more seating tho.
Hlayisani Sambo
Tried out this gem at Mall of Africa on a recent catch up with a friend. Their pour over is good. I had the Nicaragua and my friend went for the Colombia. We paired out coffee with Almond and Orange cake which is gluten free, full of flavour and filling. My buddy had the carrot cake which has a handsome portion. <br/><br/>The service was on point which reflects customer orientation and years of experience as well as a passion to serve. Thanks to Tasha our waitron, we hardly noticed that we were sitting next to the escalator. A must try, plus they serve TriBeCa coffee.
Anusha Nadasen
Had lunch at this place at Mall of Africa, the coffee is gorgeous!!!! Tried a hot press sandwich, "Spicy chicken breast with jalapeño mayo...served with spicy tomato salsa"<br/><br/>Doesn't that description sound delicious!!! Pity the sandwich was utter garbage! The chicken breast was "chickeny", there was no spice no seasoning whatsoever on the chicken. For R78, it was a rip off of note! Overpriced, flavorless sandwich!
