Lovely ambiance on a Thursday afternoon i had the prawn pasta which was a delicious surprise creamy and flavorful however i would have liked more prawns and my partner had the t bone steak which was done perfectly. Staff was friendly always checking if we were ok (usually dont prefer being disturbed 3 times when im eating) however when it came to asking for the bill nobody looked our way overall plesant experience
Well, there is definitely nothing that comes to mind where I can critique this restaurant.
The management and staff are great. The food is always scrumptious.
They have indoor and outdoor smoking and non smoking areas.
It’s a great atmosphere for after work drinks during the week (especially a Friday) and if you’re wanting something quieter their inside dining hall is just the spot.

The Baron has been around for roughly 25 years and is honestly superior to restaurants that fall in this category.
With a motto like "nothing is too much trouble" it makes you wonder... So let's see what trouble they got into or not...being renowned for serving only the highest quality food and prepared under strict quality control standards let's test and see the results.
The test- 3 out of the 5 Baron branches, as I mentioned before... I love my steak.
The Baron has branches in Bedfordview, Bryanston Fourways, Sandown and Kyalami.
1. The Baron in Bryanston:
Sadly here I was met with disappointment. The steak had a funny smell to it, it was just awful.
Needless to say I did not eat it, had the waiter asked why I didn't eat my steak... I would have explained.
However I believe that any restaurant can have an off day. Alas I tried Bryanston again and sadly it happened again....No more eating here for me.
However I do pop in once in a while for a drink as I love the vibe there, but eating is a NO!
2. The Baron Sandown is amazing... food fantastic and atmosphere was wonderful.
The staff are very pleasant... food was excellent.
This franchise was the mind changer on my steak.
Then one Sunday afternoon I decided to pop into Kyalami Corner Centre for lunch. It was during the festive season.
Everyone had a special and I was just so undecided.
I took the escalator up to the first floor and there was a Baron across the parking lot.
Ok honestly I'm a big entertainer app fan and being wise with money I want to score as much with every penny I have. Well especially when my beer bill is almost equal to my meal bill.
I love relaxing, chilling... chatting to the staff, and if I'm lucky to get a manager to chat to that's a huge bonus.
3. The Baron Kyalami, the waiters were super friendly and the manager walked to every table to chat to the patrons. This was fantastic. Gosh I can't remember the managers name at this Baron but he was awesome.
Alas after chatting to him for a while...I could see how passionate he was about the Baron and his biggest wish was to own one.
Being an Ex.Banker I explained to him what the requirements were for bank finance. Sadly he just smiled and said "I will never qualify as I have nothing but experience... years of experience in The Baron group."
The passion in his eyes was incredible, oops a bit side tracked, but on with my review.
On with the meal, remember the Entertainer App so here were my two dishes:
Chicken Tikka Masala
This is apparently a very popular dish because everyone is banting, the banting choice is it's served with cauli-rice. That be my crowd; the banting patrons; so naturally this was my choice.
It was a perfectly sized meal, not too much and not too little. Guess that helps when you banting.
The suprise was meal number two, Yip my dinner:
Oxtail
Braised oxtail in Red Wine and Port with garlic, baby onions and carrots served with mash potatoes.
All I can say is wow wow wow, this dish was just incredible.
Guess I should tell you how to pack it as a Take- Away...
Don't let them do it haha... habit.
When eating this dish pour the oxtail, baby onions, carrots and sauce over the mash... WOW.
This meal just melts in your mouth, it was beyond incredible... So much so, I'm definitely going back for more haha two more.
This is a stunning venue, it's just so incredible. The views of Kyalami are amazing... a definite intimate venue. Valentine's day written all over it... very romantic and personal.
Now I just need to bring myself to try the steak again ;-(
We decided to visit The Baron after seeing that it was now available on the Entertainer App.
We were a table of 4 and had a lovely waitress. The manager was helpful throughout the night and ensured that everything was okay.
Our table ordered the Seafood Munchies platter, Sliders platter, Cheese and Bacon burger and the Half Spatchcock. All our dishes were delicious and prepared well.
The restaurant is beautiful, and the outdoor seating makes for a great evening during Summer.
Very good! Wide offer of dishes. For starters, calamares and beef pieces flooded in red sauce was tasty! For main 250g of fillet sided with mush, vegies and Greek salad was awsome. GTs very good, 3cl Gin standard. Very nice service, easy parking, 25-30€/pax. A must try!
Atmosphere, service and food was great. Enjoyed garlic snails and for main the rump was perfectly prepared. Bit pricy but was worth it, got my recommendation.

We headed over to The Baron at Kyalami Corner for Friday night drinks with some family. This particular franchise opened recently and is definitely one-up from the rest of the franchises. The Baron has never been a place that I've looked forward to going to but I can safely say that I wouldn't mind going back to this one.
The place was packed and there was hardly any parking available. The service was a little sluggish but that's understandable because it was a Friday night and it was super busy. We decided to sit inside because it was rather chilly outside. We were seated at a booth-like table and it was really nice and cosy. I was super fascinated with the light fitting at our table, which you could swivel to whichever side of the table. The whole place is very modern and trendy!
I had a gin and tonic to drink. It was served with a slice of grapefruit, which was nice and refreshing. My sisters and I decided to share two main meals. We ordered the wild mushroom pasta and the grilled calamari in a peri-peri sauce served with tartare sauce and rice. Both dishes were delicious and the pasta was beautifully plated.
Not sure why this place has such a low rating as I was more than impressed and would definitely go back!
Beautiful decoration , lots of light and atmosphere. Love the big screens and the view into the bar. The service was welcoming. We had two chicken Trinchada with the best chips ever . Good value good food. Great access for parking and later taking a walk in the mall!

Amazing experience. I had my party there and staff were on the ball and food was exceptional. I'll definitely be back. The atmosphere is amazing and I love that it feels more upmarket than other 'pubs'

Had lamb curry hot pot. Initially thought a tad expensive. But so full of good meat. Well worth it. Mild and very flavorful.
Chicken trinchado is now my 2nd favorite.
Jenny had liver and onions : liver a bit overcooked but the flavour.
Service very good.
Pale ale beer very good too.
Really enjoyed our evening last night at the Baron. Lovely ambience and our steaks were done to perfection. The only downside is that the entire bar area is a smoking area so if you just want to go for after work drinks you have to breathe toxic fumes or sit in the dining area. Other than that - very impressed
The setup is cool. They have a bar section for smokers and people who just want to enjoy their beer. They have a reasonable selection of beers on tap. Their chicken livers starter was quite good but I felt like the portion was a bit small. The lamb curry still need some tweaking to taste like a proper curry. Will definitely give them another run since they close by. Their service if average at best. Would suggest reserving a table on Fridays and weekends. I am here on a Monday and the place is pretty much at capacity.
Made an impromptu midweek stop at this cosy, well appointed restaurant. Cocktails were excellent (they have an extensive gin menu too), food was good and staff are absolutely amazing. Steak, veg and crispy onions - hit the spot. Wild mushroom pasta also a treat.

It was a great experience; the food served quicker, hot, fresh & crispy. I've enjoyed my meal and would come back again. All waiters mind customers' business, whatever help you might if the waiter allocated to serve you is still held up somewhere, they step in & help you. It was something I liked there, the Baron Kyalami is the best.

We had a delicious lunch at the Baron, ribs were so tender and sweet and espetada was perfectly seasoned and done just right. Service was friendly and speedy.
Great; The venue is great, clearly the owners thought about winter and summer clientele because there's several fireplaces to keep you warm in winter and plenty of cascading doors to open up in the summer. We've eaten here a few times recently and haven't been disappointed. Pricing is solid, the service has been great and the food has been great every time.
We celebrated my daughters birthday with a table of 12. The food came hot and well prepared. They allowed me to bring a birthday cake. Thank you very much for an awesome evening 😀
Really nice proper sit down restaurant, great atmosphere with the fire going in the corner making things cosy for a cold winter night and super friendly staff. Nice place to go for a proper date night where casual formal wear isn't too dressed up or down

Delicious food. Lamb chops served with a plate full of fries, onion rings and veggies. The RoseyCheeks and The BakerMans gin is absolutely to dye for. My pix reveal how good they were! Atmosphere was ok...its what you make of it.
Great place to go with kids! The play area is cleaner than other places, on the weekend there's an animator to take care of the children and, in general, it's not too crowded.
The atmosphere inside is really nice and suitable for special occasions as well. The setting is formal and the tablecloths are always white and well ironed. All sizes of bottled water come in glass and the wine selection is really good!
Great food and a nice dining place for the whole family. The waiters are doing an excellent job
