Review Hello Tomato - Mall Of Africa - Midrand

I was recommended by a family member and I tried their vegetarian pastas with my friends and it was very nice! The service was good and I enjoyed my food, the flavor is different than the usual restaurants 😊 will try their pizza some other time 😌

My girlfriend and I traveled to Johannesburg from PE for a bodybuilding show this past weekend. On Sunday we decided to revisit Hello Tomato (We have been here once before) to have some proper pizza and pasta. What we got far exceeded our expectations, which were high to start off with! We were greeted by an extremely helpful and friendly waiter whom quickly had us seated and our drinks on the table. After a very short wait for our food it arrived, freshly and warm and absolutely mouth wateringly delicious. There was absolutely no oil to be seen in either my pizza or my girlfriends pasta. All the ingredients were evidently fresh and of the highest quality. I proceeded to compliment the owner and thank him for the meal. The owner (I unfortunately did not get his name) should be proud of the manner in which he runs his business and I would recommend Hello Tomato to anyone for the best quality food and service around! I shall never miss an opportunity to go to Hello Tomato if I am in the Johannesburg area. EXCELLENT, AMAZING and I'm definitely going back.

Pricey food but I enjoyed every bite. Chocolate custard shake was great too. Definitely a takeaway place unless there are four or less of you due to limited seating. One place I'll definitely be back to, need to try the next pizza 😁

Super! We are a fully vegetarian group and we really enjoy coming here! Food was great and very friendly staff. They’ve also partners with Mr. Delivery and Uber eat, best way to get authentic take outs. We sat in for dinner after movies, ordered their company size, just look at it! It’s massive 👍🏼 you’ve got to ask for the in-house chilly which they can provide in request, but be careful - it’s pretty spicy 🌶

Honestly the best place for pizza and pasta. We can never decide between the two so end up ordering one pizza and pasta to share. The standard size is more than enough and also bigger than most "upsize" options at other places. Tastes nothing like takeaway, instead made with great care and passion. Love love love this place, all the friendly staff and their absolutely amazing food.

Absolutely divine pasta and pizza. So authentic, definitely not the normal stuff that is churned out by most franchises. I have to say that the service was also very good. We tried the pasta with almonds and rocket and it was superb. The mutton sausage pasta was also very good. For pizzas, we had two varieties of the chicken options and both were delicious. They are a bit more pricey compared to most pizza and pasta fast food spots, but I would say that it is well worth it, as you cannot compare the taste and quality.

We found an amazingly friendly guy there, I think he owns the place. Absolutely enjoyed our meal there, the set-up of the place, having your pizza placed on canned tomato tins, everything about the place just comes together to create a warm vibe... My boyfriend was also crazy about their homemade hot sauce.

Pizzas are good, very thin base which I do like. Quite reasonably priced (keep in mind their "standard" is a large in most places. Waitress was extremely friendly but a little slow, she did however apologise and mention they were short staffed and it was quite busy.

The pizzas and pastas are actually very good and well priced. What makes it even worth is to buy on Tuesdays where the price is halved when ordering two pizzas/pastas or mixed. However, because of the specials on Tuesdays there's usually a very long queue and long waiting time.

Friendly service at the counter. Waitresses not so much, but they are not rude either. FANTASTIC AWESOME FOOD. Best Italian I've had in a long time - shocked this place is in a food court and not a fancy sit down. Great, tasty, varied veg options. Definitely on my list of worthwhile drives to get the food.

We stopped for a quick bite. The pasta was a little below al dente however never had such fresh and succulent melt in your mouth chicken strips. What a friendly bunch of people who work there. Everyone is super helpful and nice. Will be back.

Don't order pasta on Tuesdays when they are having their 'Twosday' promotion. The waiting time is too long if there is pasta on your order (circa 1h30mins long). Once customers put pressure on the store, you may get yourself pasta that is not cooked properly. Rather order pizza only.

This place has the most affordable and delicious pasta and pizza. Their Tuesday food special takes the cake and more. It's a filling gourmet takeaway or sit in on a tight budget. Go check it out.

I don't think I've ever rated a take away 5 star before but they deserve it. I ate frozen custard. Who would have ever thought of that. It was delicious . On top of it the staff were really friendly and service was amazing

Just love going here for some awesome pizza, pasta and especially the kicken chicken strips with chilly mayo sauce. The custard dessert is sooo yummy. 😍👌Staff are awesome too.

Incredible pizza at a great price. This is always the first place I think of when I am in the mood for a pizza. They use an electric oven over a wood oven but when the pizza is this good, it doesn't even matter
