Review Kream Restaurant Mall Of Africa - Midrand

CEEJAY MAXWELL
The food was amazing. The sauce on the pasta was incredible. Their chips and burgers and onion rings. It's really good. I enjoyed everything there. Especially their bubble gum milkshake. The waiters are friendly, and there's a gentleman who comes to your desk and offers you some garlic bread. Unfortunately I don't like garlic so I didn't eat it. However, I like the gesture of constant customer engagement.

From being welcomed into the place, to the food, the atmosphere and the service was exceptional. If you want to celebrate yourself, this is the type of place you go to because with every detail of service, you are given the very best. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be coming back...

I had the best time with my friends at Kream. We reserved a table to celebrate something special and we enjoyed every part of it. From the atmosphere to the food and the service we received from our waitress Hope and the floor manager Prosper! Their cocktails were amazing. Definitely coming back.

The place is very clean, they have live music, they have waiters who are very neat and professional. We never felt neglected. They gave us food recommendations. The food tastes amazing, and everyone, including waiters, waitresses, and managers, is friendly and nice to their customers. I highly recommend this place.

I had the most amazing time! Let's start by breaking the atmosphere down, it has such a nice modern chic vibe, the decor, the layout... its all well planned! The service was perfect, from starters to desert, the laddies attending to our table made my it a unforgettable night. The food, OMG, the food was delicious. I had the asian pork cubes has a starter, the rump has a main and the cherry vanilla ice cream for desert.

I would definitely recommend going to Kream if you want a luxurious night out. You may have to stretch your pockets a bit but it's definitely worth every penny 😁😁

One of my favourite restaurants. Class meets elegance meets delicious food and incredible service. Guaranteed to have a good time, and I will be returning. The free bread is *chefs kiss*

Staff brilliant but how come you have to wait for the manager to place an order, staff not allowed to take your order. If you don’t tip the manager thinks your not happy, I tipped the waitress only. What a strange way to run a restaurant

The food was great , really really great. Besides for one person on our table out of 20 people, one person ordered an Oxtail and it was smelling off, everyone agreed it smelled off, the plate was returned to the kitchen and issue explained only to have it back a few moments later saying the food is not smelling off. My dear colleague went back to Cape town with a very bad experience, this was from last night, 9th of July evening. The waitress Thando was so good and friendly, felt like I knew her forever. I don't know if I would come back based on my colleagues bad experience and the fact that it was not dealt with the right way.

Always a great experience. Romon and his team make everyone feel like VIPs and they undoubtedly have the best Chicken Livers in the world. Can’t go wrong with a fillet from their grill master either!

Best steak I've eaten in months, cooked perfectly medium, and my husband's medium steak was amazing, too.

So disappointed with Kream which is usually a favorite for my family. I was so looking forward to celebrating my graduation at Kream. My dad had bought a special bottle of champagne previously and was looking forward to sharing it as a toast at the restaurant. As I was taking a photograph with the beautiful bottle the manager came over and took the bottle OUT OF MY HAND and placed it on the table and stated that we would not be allowed to pay corkage to drink the champagne at the restaurant. No explanation given. No inquiry into what special occasion may have been taking place. To top this all off we had already ordered a round of drinks and were in the peocess of ordering our meals which would have more than compensated for having our champagne there to toast with. Well sad to say we will never be back...

Had the most exquisite dinner there and hD an awesome time too 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

As I went to celebrate my birthday with my husband, the food was nice but the lady by the name of Debroh was with the long face no smile even when you ask her question you could see that she is irratated by us questioning her. she will never be our waitress anymor.

Lovely place. We have been here a couple of times and Kream just never dissapoints. From the friendly welcome to the spectacular service to the amazing Lamb Shank to the beautifull desert. Love this place.

The only thing I don't like about Kream is that it's at Mall of Africa, but everything else about this restaurant is magnificent. My friend and I came here on a Tuesday afternoon to catch up and I'm glad we chose Kream. The staff is so welcoming and the ambiance a decor was that of a fine dining restaurant. We wanted to sit at the top but it was packed, the whole restaurant was packed and busy on a Tuesday. Even with this being the case, the service was fast and efficient. I sat down and ordered sparkling water and before you know it, you're give a selection of different breads. I felt adventurous so I ordered Snails(cooked in sherry, butter, garlic & herb, blue cheese, and thyme). It was the first time I eat snails and I was sold. It was divine! My friend ordered bone marrow for his starter and was happy with it as well. In between starter and main, we were given a sorbet pallet cleanser which was lovely. For mains I ordered Zebra and thanks to the advice of the restaurant manager (who along with a friendly waitress, were our waiters) told me not to have the meat anything more than medium. I'm glad I listened because it melted in my mouth. My friend ordered a steak. It was an amazing experience and I'm glad I got to share it with my friend. Kream @ mall of Africa is a place I highly recommend to anyone who is a true foodie. It was a fine dining experience that didn't disappoint. I could have easily given it a 5/5 but because of its location and this to me is just as important. It's easy to rate the place so low because it's surrounded by other average restaurants, this place should be in your areas like Melrose Arch. I'd like to add that the menu shown here on Zomato is outdated.

Day - Sunday lunch with the family.<br/><br/>Service - below par. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed though it eas not busy. The service was nothing compared to the Kream in Brooklyn so I was utterly dissapointed.<br/><br/>Food - the food was good. I enjoyed my lamb shank. The ribs and oxtail were also well received. The malva pudding was good as malava can be. The carrot cake was great. It was a favourite.<br/><br/>Value for money - okay. Still put off by the service. I had to ask that our table be cleaned and the ice bucket was shared between us and another table making it a mission to refill seeing that we weren't well attended to.
Logan Perumal
The food was fantastic. Everyone at our table enjoyed what they had ordered and there were a few doggie bags as well. Great atmosphere. Will be back there
Yuri Ramkissoon
Made a booking. Realised they serve foie gras. Cancelled. Will not support any establishment that endorses and profits from such inhumane, horrific torture of a living being. Disgusting.

Finally had the privilege of going to Kream this place is a splendid restaurant. This is where you go to treat yourself or others.<br/><br/>The decor is amazing, the atmosphere is lively, the managers can get a bit much but they are knowledgeable about the menu.<br/><br/>They have finishing touches like a a little stand for your bag and suit / jacket as well.<br/><br/>Food was really well done, flavorful and delectable.<br/>We had the following meals;<br/><br/>* Lamb Shank<br/>* T-bone Steak<br/>* Lamb Chops<br/>* French trimmed Tomahawk<br/>* The Hive (honey & almond nougat parfait with white chocolate)<br/>* Blonde Chocolate Ganache tart<br/>* Blondies & Brownies

Food was really good. Pricing is also good. I also love the ambiance and overall aesthetic of the place. It isn't 5 star yet but its close for sure. It's above average.

When we arrived my partner and I were given bread that came with 3 different butters that were displayed so beautifully you would swear it was something sweet. Then came my crocodile starter that was nothing I ever tasted in my life I had to share it with my partner I couldn’t resist having heaven alone, then came a pallet that was suppose to kill the flavor of crocodile starter that was still in my mouth they explained that it would really dumb down the previous flavors, so my main course which was a duck it was presented well, looked fresh and simple it was riveting I never knew that betroot could be the cherry on top the betroot purée was amazing, I was so full I couldn’t had dessert and we were given two small chocolate which were guilty pleasure ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

INCREDIBLE food and amazing staff. Steak was a soft enough to cut with a butter knife and the confit chicken was possibly one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Would definitely recommend.

What an amazing experience dining at Kream. Both myself and my partner were amazed by the presentation of our dishes and the delicate cooking of each dish. Thank you.
Melissa Vilane
Went for a lovely romantic dinner and the place didn't disappoint. Paloma was a great waitress, so attentive. The whole establishment shows great attention to detail and the staff know their menu well. Their recommendations were spot on. Lovely place, we always have the fish dishes, they are amazing. The mojito and oysters rock

Yummy! The food at Kream is absolutely delicious. The lambshank risotto is so TASTY! The steak and accompanying truffle sauce are divine. We have only had good food experiences visiting Kream. The restuarant is popular for celebrating occasions and with good food and a bar with a wide selection I can certainly understand why. The service also never disappoints, even when do not make a booking we are warmly welcomed and seated quickly.

The service of the waiters was impressive, including the presentation of the food recommendations. I can honestly say that Kream is a true fine dining experience as I have a liking for fine dining. There was nothing wrong with anything in terms of food and drink. The quail was exquisite in terms of how the everything from the poached pear and orange went together to give a sweet, salty and bitter taste. The Pomegranate Royale tied the whole experience together.

Lovely ambiance. Beautiful interior. Food tastes amazing. I had chicken confit and the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The butternut purée was very delicious

I came to Kream for the first time last year for my graduation dinner and I was blown away. Came back for my sister’s graduation dinner last night and the Standard has not dropped, it got better I think actually. The food here is always great and the service is spectacular. I love the attention to detail. From the decor to having a place to put my bag, to the bathroom and having a straightener in there (lol) honestly every aspect of Kream is superb which is probably why I keep going back and will continue to visit time and time again.

I had dinner here with some colleagues, I ordered the Camembert Fillet. I cut a piece and put it into my mouth and i closed my eyes and just said mmmmm as I savored the taste! The Camembert is delicious and sweet while the fillet is cooked to perfection, it just melts in your mouth!!!! I’ve had some really good fillet before....but this ranks amongst some of the best meat I’ve had.<br/><br/>I had the brownie and blondie dessert, it was too sweet and not too great. The waitress gave us gaps that were too long between meals and taking our orders.<br/><br/>That being said...I cannot stop raving about this fillet and I would go back anytime just to enjoy this meal again 😍

You come to Kream to indulge. From waiter to manager that personally serves you to the pretty high roof lighting - its really the ideal environment to get spoiled in. Service is on point here.<br/>The food is typically fine-dining presented - had both the crocodile and beef carpaccio - very indulgent.<br/>Then had the chefs special Wilde Beest Venison - strong in flavour, tastefully gamy although the edges were mildly tough but juicy all the same. Partner had the French Tomahawk (ribeye) - the medium rare was done perfectly - but tasted mildly bitter from the charcoal-y grill although the mushroom truffle sauce did it justice. One of the best we've had - exceptionally creamy with mouth watering chunks of mushroom. Mash potatoes, the side, almost stole the show as they were fantastic - thick in density and lush with flavour. Really appreciated the Rupert & Rothschild wine recommendation, paired well with the red meat.<br/>Creme brule was typical (which was tasty) - wisely paired with a scoop of delicious dulcet vanilla? ice cream.<br/>You dont really go to Kream to mull over prices, but honestly its quite reasonably priced for such an experience. (Except for the wine.)

Visited for the first time last night for a little celebration and have nothing bad to say about this place. Everything was on point! Had the Camembert fillet dish, perfect! Amazing food and service. We will be back!

What a delight to be dining in this restaurant- lovely ambience and stunning decor. <br/><br/>We had a pleasant waitress. . Was served with a choice of 4 different complimentary breads with 4 spreads. Aside from the menu items we had specials that were explained to us. Between meals there were pallet cleansers served as well.<br/><br/>Food was well presented and so was the dessert. <br/><br/>On visiting the ladies restrooms I was surprised to have noticed by what I have never ever seen anywhere in the many parts I have travelled locally and internationally - 2 GHD hair straighteners plugged in and ready for use.

We went to Kream on recommendation from family and were highly impressed. The ambience, service and food was excellent. Highly professional and food quality exceeded their prices. <br/>

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Customer service is top tier! Food absolutely amazing. Had the creamy chicken livers for starters and for mains the oxtail that just fell off the bone with the risotto! Great value for your money! Definitely going back!
Andy Mak
Absolutely amazing customer service, gorgeous decor, very clean establishment. The oxtail and risotto was divine, high quality meat for the steaks too.

Excellent food and service. Awesome experience to dine here. Menu is diverse and the wine list is excellent. Worth a try for a special occasion.
Kirsten McCann
Excellent service. Food was exceptional. The variety of food was perfect as it caters for almost any pallet. Flavors of foods compliment one another. Good ambience and very comfortable. Highly recommended.

It’s more of a 3.5 than a 4 rating! <br/>Visited the restaurant for a friends birthday. Lovely vibe in the restaurant in a Saturday night. Not sure about the ambience, though - some diners were dressed to the nines and some diners were dressed in shorts and tees - takes away a bit of the exclusivity of the experience. Great wine selection - reasonably priced.<br/>Starters were Camembert, Salmon, pork belly. Camembert was a bit of a disappointment as the wheel was cut in half (as per pic) - resulting in the dish being relatively cold and ‘sticky’ by time it was served. The brioche / toast was soggy and unpleasant to eat. Salmon was great. Pork belly starter ( recommendation of the day) was fairly average. <br/>For mains, all the diners at our table opted for the recommendation of the day as well , which was the lamb rump. This was served with a huge mound of crushed chili potato and stems of undercooked long stemmed broccoli. The meat was not unpleasant but dry-ish and terribly fatty. Too much potato on the plate. The extra marrow butter was unpleasant. <br/>Dessert to share was the candy-floss cheese cake and the chocolate tart . An absolute triumph - really fabulous. <br/>The staff were ambivalent towards us - not quite warm and engaging as one would expect of a 5-star establishment but rather cool and distant ; almost mechanical. Staff seemed to lack ‘something’ and were too impatient to engage with our table. <br/>All-in-all - not an unpleasant experience. But not a 5-star wow experience that one would experience from a 5-star establishment. Not sure what the fuss was about. <br/>

We were at the mall of Africa and since Kream had the best rating, we decided to have dinner there.<br/><br/>Kream is located on the second floor on the open terrace with other restaurants, overlooking the fountains. They have outdoor table too with space heaters for the cooler evenings.<br/><br/>The staff were very friendly. Service was a little slow, but since we weren’t in a hurry, we didn’t mind.<br/><br/>They have a large menu with lots of grills and sushi and the manager came up to us and explained the list of the days specials too.<br/><br/> For starters we had the roasted bone marrow which was fatty and lovely on toast. The special pulled pork croquettes were very good too. But the star for me was the chicken livers in a creamy peri peri sauce.<br/><br/>I had a steak for my mains and it was excellent. I’d asked for medium rare and it was perfect. He had the grilled squid and since he didn’t want a saucy finish, they offered to make it in garlic butter for him and he loved it.<br/><br/>The desserts didn’t taste as amazing as they sounded on paper, but they were still quite good.
Tondani Ndou
Amazing! <br/><br/>The service was fantastic, the food was beyond amazing and the decor is stunning. <br/><br/>I recommend this place to anyone looking for fine dining. <br/><br/>My friends and I got a set menu for R330. We had chicken livers, oxtail soup and sushi for starters. For main meals we had chicken schnitzel, ribs and steak. We had the brownies for dessert and they were more filling than we expected. <br/><br/>Overall it was a great experience. <br/>

Had lunch on Sunday quiet and relaxing although the service was slow everyone at my table six of us enjoyed their food except me. I ordered duck 🦆 it so over cooked and dry I could not eat it what sad was when I called my ambassador over his told me that’s the way they make it he did not understand duck skin should be crisp and the meat moist anyway you should take off the menu your chef can’t cook duck I then ordered calamari which was great staff are very good well done Mike

Really fancy, upmarket restaurant that doesn’t come cheap. Had lunch here with a friend but I feel it’s more suited for dinner. The service is outstanding. After being promptly seated, we were almost immediately offered bread with four kinds of butter, all of which were good. My friend and I shared the brie parcel for starters which was quite nice. Good sized portion and crispy pastry. I then had the salmon which looked good (pity I forgot to take pics) and was definitely too much for me to finish. The salmon was cooked well and I particularly enjoyed the potatoes. I still made room in my tummy for the summer fruit crepe stack which was light and fresh and a good end to my meal.
Rudi Ernst
A stunning restaurant visually and with comfortable chairs. Food was absolutely flawless in taste and presentation...<br/>BUT: the service staff leave something to be desired for this level of eatery. Empty dishes were left on the table for too long and not removed, topping up of glasses was sporadic.<br/>Worst of all was a bunch of 3 or 4 guys downstairs at the bar area (we sat upstairs) who were completely drunk, very loud, swearing at the top of their voices and breaking out into song. If Kream has any desire to be taken seriously for fine dining then drunk, swearing patrons should be asked to keep it down or leave. This was reported to the manager and the problem did seem to be resolved, but not before having to listen to two hours of swearing and drunken yelling from the guys at the bar. Not good enough.
Lukas
Excellent service, beautiful decor and a truly pleasant atmosphere. Kream feels special as soon as you step through the door and the staff are quick to make you feel welcome. I found myself looking at the art and decor more than I did my date so full marks there. My only complaint: The food is good, but not great. Most people will probably only visit an establishment such as this on special occasions and maybe I'm just a cheap date but I have had better for less. Don't get me wrong, Kream is objectively a good restaurant, but I just can't quite say it's good value for money.
Pre
Had a fab dinner last night @Kream. Food was awesome and drinks yummy. Will definitely be back but for special occasions😉. Loved the bag rack idea! Service was personal and on the ball. <br/>
Rakhil Sewpersadh
Fantastic service and delicious food. Would of been worth my 5 stars however due to the unfortunate cockroach by our seating area and my medium steak being served blue rare. I afford Kream a high three due to that amazing Mushroom and Biltong Soup, the splendid warmth received from our waiters and the scrumptious Happy Anniversary surprise at the end.<br/><br/>Fiancè was not too happy about the Cajun Chicken breast, definitely some work to be done there!<br/><br/>I believe Kream is worth every penny it was however unfortunate how things unfolded for us.
Neil Smith
A wonderful restaurant with a carefully selected menu. The wine list is thorough with some great options. The service is impeccable. They offer a lovely private dinning area should you choose to have a function or important dinner out. Any choice here from fish to meat is delicious and presented beautifully
Roslyn Hellström
Let’s start with the positives: service is amazing, decor is stunning, love the handbag/coat stand, the bread and butter was lovely and fresh, the beef carpaccio was delicious and the birthday wishes were very special by giving you your very own photo and little dessert with a shot of Amarula. Unfortunately I wish my main was as satisfying but it was a major disappointment. The duck confit was so dry that it could pull off being a biltong. The butternut was a purée which should have been served as a “sauce” rather than a side as it seriously reminds me of my twins baby food. The risotto albeit well prepared was so under seasoned and the taste resembles nothing of Parmesan nor herbs. Salt salt salt.
Samke Kulu
Attended a dinner party here. Absolutely beautiful restaurant! Loved the fact that they have a private room - the food was amazing & I found my new favorite wine there 😍 can’t wait to be back I’m GP so I can go dine there again.
DK
The service is top class. The food is amazing and the small touches they add to help celebrate special occasions makes a world of difference.
Ayanda
Great environment and ambiance however food was very disappointing. Ordered oxtail and it was VERY oily, risotto was drenched in the fat of the meat, plate covered in oil. Underwhelming to say the least. Definitely would not recommend or return to this specific one. Recently (2 weeks ago) ate at the Kream in Brooklyn and the experience was MUCH more pleasant and food was amazing.

I was so excited to eat at Kream. Made reservations for this popular restaurant in The Mall of Africa three weeks prior and it was well worth the wait. This restaurant has been open since the mall opened two years ago. The main Kream is situated in Pretoria. This luxurious restaurant probably has one of the sexiest views in Johannesburg. If you manage to get there before sunset, try get a table upstairs.<br/><br/>This restaurant is both chic and comfortable at the same time. As much as it is fancy, I never felt out of place or alienated. People sat around their tables and casually caught up over a glass of wine and dinner. The crowd was a mix between businessmen, friends and families who were having special dinners and happy couples.<br/><br/>Romon who is the most charming owner showed us to our table after giving us a tour of the restaurant. He made sure our glasses were always full and made sure they matched our meals. I don't think a night at Kream would be the same, without meeting the dapper Romon.<br/><br/>For starters we shared the most scrumptious oysters. Romon teamed this up with some bubbles. Because champagne and oysters make a happy couple. I then had the most delicious beef stroganoff. My gosh. It oozed goodness. Cyprian had the tasty beef trinchado. It was good, but not as good as my beef stroganoff.<br/><br/>For mains, I listened to Romon and had the most unusual meal I think I have ever eaten. Crocodile tail. Yes, you read right. This is a white meat, but the texture is almost like a beef steak. This was served on a bed of risotto and Napolitano sauce on the side. It was decadent, it was rich and it was delicious. Cyprian had a juicy piece of steak served on a bed of mash.<br/><br/>For dessert I had the famous Candy Crush. Strangely, this wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be. Rainbow cheesecake, bubblegum ice cream, gin & tonic jelly candy floss and candy dripped pop corn. I really enjoyed this colourful masterpiece.<br/><br/>Overall we had an incredible time at the famous Kream. Thank you to the friendly staff and Romon for making us feel like VIP guests.
Kev0&#039;s Food Adventures!
A must try! We celebrated an anniversary at Kream and the staff went out of the way to make it extra special, rose petal covered table and custom desert! The Carpaccio starter was extremely tasty, Amanda had a special order of Salmon Ceviche which the Brooklyn Chef prepared. I had a Camembert pepper crusted fillet which cooked to perfection. A must try!

First time dining at Kream Mall of Africa. From the moment we entered, a class act. Decor, furnishing, ambience - all very tastefully done. Service was top drawer. No sickly sweet charm, just good friendly, knowledgeable service and advice. We both ordered very rich starters and mains and were reminded of this a day later. Our bad. Nothing wrong with the dishes. Great wine selection and we did good in that dept. Not cheap, but then it doesn't pretend to be. All in all, an enjoyable evening out. Will be back.

I was really excited to go try out this restaurant as it had so many good reviews however to say I was disappointed is an understatement.<br/><br/>Although the service was good .. the food was ok! I ordered the scallops with Parma ham and it arrived with out and my hubby had the baked camembert which wasn’t well baked as the cheese wasn’t even melted. <br/><br/>My daughter had the calamari which was delicious but my son’s ribs were under done and we had to ask for them to be cooked better. <br/><br/>For main course I ordered the angel fish special which was delicious and my hubby had the smoked pork belly. <br/><br/>The pork belly skin was not crispy and smothered in sauce .. the portion could be smaller given how rich it was and it needed something acidic to cut through all the richness. He didn’t enjoy it.<br/><br/>Having said all this .. the manager removed this dish from our bill and they were amazing. Our waitress Lizzy was incredible and we would go back .. maybe it was a bad day in the kitchen and that happens from time to time ..

Wasnt expecting a Fine Dining Restaurant in a Mall , but was pleasantly surprised .<br/>The hosts were excellent , the Manager explained the special for the day.<br/>Ordered Chicken Confit and some local White Wine.<br/><br/>A thumbs up from side for the service and food !!
Gareth Bladon
Fine dining in a major shopping mall is pretty unusual, so I must admit to wondering if Kream was masquerading as an upmarket food court outlet. It isn't.<br/>They get full marks for trying to provide top notch service but it fell short. They didn't have our reservation on arrival and there was much confusion in trying to find a space for us. The waiter service was a bit over the top - we had 3 different people performing different service functions. They were all pleasant and helpful but for some reason were very nervous.<br/>The food was good - not great. With all the hype I was expecting a bit more in the way of cuisine.<br/>Not a bad experience but probably won't rush back.

Decided to take a special someone to Kream for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the wine & the ambiance which created a really great fine dining experience. The decor is very lavish, upmarket.

We had a lovely experience at Kream with topnotch service. I had a delicious Kream Martini which was so smooth and the flavours was really balanced.<br/>For starters I had quail which was very good.<br/>I had the bone marrow fillet for mains and I was surprised as to how perfectly the meat was prepared.<br/>Dessert was devine as I had a Crème Brulé with the most delicious ice cream.<br/>My husband had a Candy Krush, the presentation was beautiful with flavours to match.<br/><br/>We will definitely come back.

We celebrated my birthday at Kream and it was truly a great experience. What was the standout for me was the service and effort they do for their customers. The waiters and floor manager are absolutely great and they made me feel very special on my birthday by printing a photo for me with my slice of cake that is really a nice touch to finish the evening. The food was very good and the standout dish was definitely the 600 gram Tomahawk steak.
Duane Volschenk
This was an amazing experience. Very good and unique service. I order a Tomahawk steak and by far the best one I have had. It was my brothers birthday and.made it very special with a photo taken with his cake. The food is at very high standard
Must Love Pudding
Warm and inviting atmosphere. Service is great and all staff are well trained and friendly. The mussel starter (specials) was a nice take on the traditional white wine sauce, they use wholegrain mustard and LOTS of parmesan:) fabulous confit duck! Camembert fillet was a hit with two of my guests as well as no complaints with the who fish dishes (also specials).
Siphesihle Linda Nyoka
Been here a few times, and each time it has been great. Been with family, girlfriends and as a large group, very versatile place. I love the sushi variety and hubby enjoys their steaks.
Food Man
Absolutely amazing. Salmon is phenomenal especially when seared. A true fine dining experience that won't burn a hole in your pocket like some other establishments.
Simphiwe Sim Mthembu
The best service experience in Johannesburg thus far!! Scallops starter, duck confit l’orange as the main. Ten out of ten for presentation, excellent ambience

Thank you Kream for an unforgettable anniversary! You made us feel special from the moment we walked in. Excellent service, AMAZING food and all the special touches made for an exceptional night! Sparkling water when we sat down, the delicious bread to choose from, a photo of us in a special envelope to remember the moment, the beautifully decorated plate wishing us a happy anniversary and to top it all little chocolates! All of this placed you shoulders above the rest! My husband ordered the Trinchado and Confit Duck. I ordered the Quail and Salmon. Cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious, especially the Trinchado and Salmon. We are SO disappointed that we wasted all our previous anniversaries at good restaurants! That will not happen again, we are now with Kream for life!

Came for dinner. Service was very friendly and articulate, but slow and disorganised. Some mains came out while starters were still being eaten. Long waits for service. Food was bland. Definitely did not meet expectations.

We headed to Kream last night for a team dinner and, all-in-all, I must say that Kream did not live up to the hype surrounding it. In fact, it woefully under-performed.<br/><br/>Arriving at Kream you are instantly taken in by the lovely decor and beautiful view which overlooks Midrand and Waterfall. The decor is quite stylish, although lacks a specific theme other than "chic". I'm not sure what they were trying to achieve with the fairy-light baobab in the upstairs section, but it's not offensive.<br/><br/>We were shown to our table in the upstairs section. The seats were lovely and comfortable, although due to their size it was difficult to actually push your chair in under the table. So not the most practical setup when you are trying to eat your food. Additionally, they have tried to fit too many tables upstairs and as a result it's difficult for the waitstaff to move around or if you want to go to the restroom the entire side of one table needs to vacate in order for you to slip out. Might I recommend they remove some of the tables just for everyone's general comfort?<br/><br/>The place is very noisy and it's quite difficult to have a conversation at a normal pitch. I was constantly shouting across the table if I wanted to converse with someone sitting 2 chairs away. Not ideal.<br/><br/>When it came time to order the food, it took about 20-30 minutes before someone actually assisted us. And while Francois was lovely, it seemed to me that he was responsible for all the tables upstairs which made it difficult to receive personalized and quick service. When we did finally manage to order our mains, it took about another 30-40 minutes before they arrived. And in between all of that I tried order a glass of wine, but the lady bought the wrong type of wine twice before I eventually got my pinot noir. Don't know if it was too loud for her to hear me correctly, or she wasn't sure what kind of wine I ordered?<br/><br/>I had the Fillet Camembert, which sounded absolutely delicious and is also considered one of their signature dishes. Unfortunately, the meal was quite average. The meat was cooked to perfection (medium rare) so no complaints regarding that, and the Camembert had a lovely pepper crust as promised! Unfortunately what completely ruined this dish for me was the mash and spinach.<br/><br/>I'm not sure how much vinegar they used in the spinach, but it was so tart it was practically inedible. And when you paired it with the taste of Camembert (which is already quite distinct) it made the dish downright unpleasant. The mash was fine from a taste and consistency perspective, but it just didn't complement the dish all that well. A dish like this needs something crisp and fresh to counter-balance all those heavy flavours. Once again, what about micro-herbs? Do South African restaurants have a thing against micro-herbs?!?!<br/><br/>Lastly, I ordered the Summer Fruit Crepe Stack for dessert and while pleasant it certain did not blow me away. Firstly, when you describe your dessert as crepe stack I actually expect you stack the crepes like they do in France. This dessert was just one crepe that had been folded over the filling. Secondly, the ice cream which accompanied the crepe was tasteless. I asked the the ladies sitting next to me to try it - to see if she could determine the flavour - but she had no luck either (it was supposed to be white chocolate and raspberry). Lastly, I didn't get any honeycomb in my dessert but rather bits of white chocolate instead. So while it was tasty, it certainly wasn't the extravaganza I was expecting.<br/><br/>Lastly, I would just like to make a quick comment on the place settings and the staff's knowledge on table setting etiquette - it seems to me that they need to be trained correctly. Firstly, the side plates go the left-hand side of the plate - not the right-hand side as it was placed last night. Secondly, all glasses need to be placed on the top right-hand side of the dish, not the left-hand side as my waitress kept doing.<br/><br/>Overall, totally average, if not slightly expensive for what you get, experience. I was meant to come back at the end of March with a friend, but after last night I definitely will be going somewhere else.

My first outing to Kream and it was for the Valentines day offering. It's a beautifully elegant venue, with some outdoor mall promonade, inside, upstairs and balcony seating, so very spacious. We sat upstairs which unfortunately isn't as nice as main seating downstairs. Booked and paid for 3 course dinner in advance.<br/><br/>The menu offered a number of dishes for each course which was great. On sitting we were told to place all course orders immediately and this is where things went wrong. My starter of curly endive was lettuce with bits of bacon and a poached egg and a dressing, average. The crab and salman cakes were good. Immediately once done with starters, mains were at the table, my cutlery was not refreshed, nor my sorbet served and no breather between courses. I was upset only to be told by a manager your table is booked for 8pm seating so your courses are quick. I found this totally unacceptable as most patrons who booked for 6pm seating were late as I have gotten there on time, we were being rushed out. In fairness I have been to restaurants with time seatings but they serve a set tasting menu with all dinners courses going out at exact same time i.e Fermier, DW, Cube and they make this very clear to you upfront. The restaurant clearly valued quantity over quality! The mains of crayfish tail was overcooked and a redone was requested and the chef was apologetic. The chowder served was huge chunks of vegetables on a watery sauce and no flavour on the crayfish. My lamb cutlets were perfectly cooked and good.. Eventually the general manager, Romos I think came to our table and apologised and even gave us a special cocktail. I then noticed that the tables around us were being taken care of timeously and meals not rushed which was good to see, complaint made and service rectified.<br/><br/>The desserts were definitely the highlights, red velvet crepes and pannacotta. Delicious light and refreshing and redeemed my mood. I would go back on a normal day as I'm certain Valentine's day 2 sittings is not the norm and you can enjoy your meals and wine in your time.<br/><br/>

We went to kream for my bfs 30th birthday and I must recommend the staff on their attentiveness to our table and knowledge of the menu. <br/>Our food was outstanding and our glasses were always full.

Absolutely fantastic! <br/>The carpaccio was so huge (which I was craving for weeks) it tasted amazing, and my little body was so full, I took majority of my main home and still shared half with my mother and we were both full. <br/>My boyfriends meal he said was also fantastic and he finished it all. <br/>The cocktail was my dream come true. My absolute favourite Lanique with Pongracz. Both favourites in one and tasted amazing! <br/>Loved the different choice of spreads for bread and the little strawberry pallet cleansers are a great touch and taste lovely. <br/>Staff are attentive and friendly and easy to get hold of if needed, even during busy lunch hour on a Friday. <br/>The manager was very attentive as well. Read and explained all the specials and approached numerous times to make sure everything is alright. I did take the special for main course. <br/>Atmosphere was lovely. Where we sat was secluded but not that we aren’t a part of something. Loved the design <br/>Prices I considered on some dishes rather lenient. Others reasonable for the great quality. <br/>Will definitely be going back to try more. Their menu is fantastic. For many tastes I believe.

I booked dinner at Kream for my husband's birthday based on friend's reviews of Kream in Brooklyn. When we entered it took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine poured and the specials read to us. I did complain and the service improved HUGELY and it was a great experience. However the food was not as good as I would have expected. Oysters to start were fresh, however I prefer having the control over the lemon and black pepper that I put on my oysters, which were dished out to us over a 5min period and separately... it was a bit odd to me. For mains, my husband had the camembert fillet, which lacked precision...too much camambert, too little sauce... so the portions on the dish did not compliment each other. I have the Burundi fish special, and the fish was well cooked, although pairing with a rich risotto was not my preferred choice and way too little sauce to fish...<br/><br/>For foodies, I would wait for this restaurant to find its feet, but in general this restaurant is a lovely experience out on the town.

My first experience of Kream was Pretoria and i was glad they opened one in Midrand. We had a lovely date night and the food and service didn't disappoint

I'm not a big lover of Kream but today's experience has changed my mind. The food was glorious (despite the massive dallop of blue cheese), fresh and tasty. Everything on that plate complimented each other, from the cheese to the spinach to the caramelized onions and perfectly done medium steak. The service is okay nothing to rave about. Too many people assigned to do different things is confusing. But a great place to have a quiet lunch catching up with a friend.

Walked in and stood waiting around. Staff walking around, some of who even made eye contact. No acknowledgement and no service. Appalling!!! Ended up walking out without so much as a word from anyone.
Chris
This is a simple review. Let’s start with the service .. impeccable service! This is what service is all about! Could not fault anything from the time we got there till we left. Next the food.. instead of mentioning every dish... it was all good!! The stand out dish was definitely the bone marrow fillet!! It was cooked to absolute perfection! The flavour was amazing. Worth every cent spent here. This is not a place that you will just try. Will definitely be back again and again. Hope they keep up the high standards!

Oh My GOODNESS!! Firstly, may I comment on the beauty of Kream at Mall of Africa!! I'm star struck!! Such professional VIP treatment from the moment you enter the restaurant. I have been to restaurant whereby there are different waiters for drinks, meals, providing bread and clearing our table.<br/><br/>OK...now for the food. You have to be there to enjoy what I'm about to describe:<br/>Starters: I had the Malvinas Rolls and my fiance had the salmon tian. I can't fault anything. Delicious and beautifully presented.<br/>Main Course: I had the fillet camembert cooked to perfection. Don't get even get started on the ultra creamy mash potatoes and sautéed spinach with mushrooms. My fiance had the pork belly. He was in heaven when he dug into his meal. What a taste sensation.<br/>Dessert: Vanilla bean creme brulee. By far this was the best creme brulee I've ever had.<br/>And...for simply having a dinner at Kream I was rewarded $11 towards my next trip. Zanzibar, here I come🌅🍹🏄<br/><br/>This has been an amazing experience. 😃💃🍖🍲🍱🌍

Had the salmon and prawn California rolls - reasonably priced, fresh ingredients and overall great. The salmon was really well prepared. The chips were also great. Service was good as one would generally expect from an establishment of this nature.

Delicious food and great decor. Unfortunately the waiter who served us decided that tasting wine was simply something not done and filled our glasses after opening the bottle. She also proceeded to mix the still and sparkling water in my glass. <br/>Three of us ordered meat. When I asked if mine was the medium rare one the waiter who brought the food told me that he deliver by number and that is should be correct. <br/>I definitely expect more from a fine dining establishment.

It was such a fantastic experience! The staff were fantastic, kind and the food was absolutely brilliant. Kream made our wedding anniversary so special with the attention and all the well wishes. Well done Kream and thank you for the 5 star experience.

This place really should be scoring much higher but they are their own worst enemies in my opinion. We arrived and were shown to our table. The service was top notch and of the 4 people dining 2 had exceptional food. The Sole and the Oxtail really were divine and i have to give credit where its due. But then 2 of us ordered Rump steaks and they were truly bland and had no taste whatsoever. It baffles me how you can make sole and oxtail so well but fail with something as basic as a steak.
Wendy
Great Service- staffs were so polite and we felt welcomed<br/>Great Food-Food was yummy. Will try other ones next time <br/>Will come back again with other friends👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

As I simply love the overall experience at Kream in Brooklyn, I wanted to try this restaurant. I took my wife for a romantic dinner and as expected, we were greeted by very friendly staff. Once seated, a very friendly Amanda came to take our drinks order. The restaurant had the same upmarket feel as the Brooklyn branch and the music set the mood. The drinks were served within 5 minutes and shortly after another waiter offered us freshly baked bread. One of the managers came to take our order. I had the 300g rump with their brandy and pepper sauce, chips and vegetables. My wife had the seared salmon with prawn mouse, pea puree, butter green beans and potatoes with a lemon dill sauce. The salmon was fresh and juicy. The rump was tender and cooked to perfection. The sauce was actually a waste, as the steak was amazing by itself. The mains experience was great, yet again as expected. We always end the evening with a dessert. The manager suggested the chef specials which was not on the menu. As I am a big baked cheesecake fan, I opted for their Vanilla cheesecake with caramel sauce and caramelised almonds. The dessert however was a total letdown. It was flat and not very tasty and didn't live up to the standards I expect from Kream, even though the plating was beautiful. It had a gelatinous texture and not very creamy. The biscuit crumb was almost the same thicknesses as the actual cheesecake and I could taste that it was warmed in the microwave oven. Overall all the dining experience was great, just a pity the dessert brought my rating of this restaurant down...

Very good! Fair offer of dishes. For starters scallops, trinchado and quali were very tasty. For mains, fillet bone marrow sided with brocoli & potato mush mix and greek salad was Top. Very nice service. Easy parking in the mall. 27-32€/pax. A must try.

What an amazing experience! Kream was such a treat. Went for an anniversary dinner and from the minute we walked in they wished us happy anniversary. All the staff were super friendly and informed. The food was delicious. We shared the salmon duo for starters and it was world class. They served us palate cleansers before mains (which were also phenomenal) and they brought us a little cake for our anniversary. Our waitress even organised a non alcoholic option as one of us didn't drink. Dessert was the perfect way to end the meal but to top it all off they printed us a picture that they had taken of us earlier in the night. Thank you Kream for an unforgettable night. Will definitely be returning.

The service was incredibly fast, the food was brilliantly presented and was delicious, and the overall atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant make it perfect for almost any occasion! Highly recommend this fantastic restaurant!

My husband and I came here to celebrate my birthday. Weather was miserable but once I was inside the restaurant, it was all forgotten. Stunning decor, professional service, and friendly staff, glasses are polished!! Lol <br/><br/>We were shown to our table and I was offered a stand for my handbag and jackets. Fabulous touch! <br/><br/>Great selection of food and drinks! <br/>As I’m pregnant, I was happy to be able to have a virgin champagne cocktail to celebrate my birthday! 🥂<br/><br/>Starters: eel maki = sushi rice wasn’t the greatest, eel needed more flavor but presentation was great! <br/><br/>Seared Salmon (special) = great presentation, well prepared and seasoned! <br/><br/>Strawberry sorbet for palate cleanse~ 👍🏼<br/><br/>For mains: confit duck l’orange = great flavor and seasoning, great presentation! Good size portion! Leg little dry. <br/>Grilled sole = generous portion of sole, but lacked seasoning but well prepared! <br/><br/>The manager offered us a portion of the parsley risotto that was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked! We both thought that the risotto went perfectly with the sole!! <br/><br/>Dessert: just a pistachio and a hazelnut ice cream~ 😋<br/><br/>And ended off with a surprise birthday plate that had a piece of cake with ice cream and a candle! What a lovely gesture from Kream! <br/><br/>I love a place with great service and this place definitely offers excellent service!<br/><br/>Enjoyed the evening very much! Will definitely come back~ Andrew

Very good food, the ambience is great, the bar waiters are responsive, and the waiters are also very good. I liked the decor, the toilets. Will return

I came here for a team meal and the  team that served us was really professional. Food was nicely presented as well. For dessert I thought it would be fun to order a candy crush, again the presentation was great. Team was very flexible with adjusting the dessert a bit for us. I didn't think the cheesecake would be tasty but it was!

Well located, great romantic setting, also an excellent place to chill with friends and have drinks and great conversations, excellent service, great food............definitely going back

Its marketed very well from the second i called to when u walk in.. you get a perception of the type of meal u gonna get. <br/>I can't say i loved my meal it was good... we had calamari sushi that was incredible and a cured beef starter which had no seasoning what'so ever. <br/><br/>Our mains were a bit disappointment or should i say let down from the perception i got . <br/>The service was great exceptional actually. <br/>It was my husbands birthday they gave him a lil cake and amourula.<br/><br/>I don't think we'll be back cause there's nothing i want to go back for. But it was good

Having been to the Pretoria branch frequently for special occasions decided to give this one a try, I was not disappointed. We called ahead and asked for a inside table for a birthday dinner and when we served found that they had seated us in what felt like our very own private balcony. The view not only of the restaurant but of the lights of the city were breathtaking! <br/><br/>The attention to small detail is what makes me love this restaurant time and time again, from the personalised waitress to having coat racks next to the table and flutes of champagne promptly served after being ordered you feel nothing short of royal. The bread selection is always fresh and warm and served with an assortment of butters and spreads. We ordered several starters from the bone marrow, crisp and salty, to gourmet sushi and crispy pork belly all of which were equally as delicious. <br/>For mains we tried steaks, lamb and fish dishes which all came steaming hot with very generous portion sizes. <br/>The Cherry on top, literally and figuratively, were the puddings. Having been told in advance it was for a birthday a wonderful platter with a message was presented to the table and a photo taken by the waitress. No sooner had she left a small card with the printed out picture of the birthday girl with her cake was sent to the table with warmest wishes from Kream- now that's what I call a perfect end to a lovely evening. <br/>We also had their candy crush pudding and the blondies and brownies, decadent, rich and jolly fantastic. <br/>After a spectacular evening we all left with happy bellies home to reminisce about the events, dishes and to plan our next outing to Kream.
Gugulethu Gwamanda
I really love the Kream brand and glad that Joburgers get an opportunity to indulge but this one doesn't quite carry the "jeu ne se qua" you fin in Pretoria. I love the menu and the staff is okay but still rate the Brooklyn outlet a more fun experience.

This exquisite restaurant definitely lives up to its name, We were greeted by the manager and seated at our table, as we walked to our table we were amazed by the stunning décor, beautiful art and stylish bar. All I can say is wow. This was just a the beginning of our culinary journey at this mesmerising restaurant<br/><br/>The Manager Ramon, so passionate about his food a true food ambassador for Kream. For starters we were provided with a sushi platter, this was a work of art of a plate, from strawberry sushi to red California rolls and, crispy crab stick fashion sandwiches, and this was like culinary Mardi Gras festival in your mouth.<br/><br/>For the mains my wife had the Angel fish on a bed of basmati rice and a green beans, fresh light and just marvellous, and I the Fillet, which was cooked to perfection with red wine and coriander sauce, pan fried peppers and bok choy, just magnificent.<br/><br/>Desert was an amazing cheese cake dome and a decant hazel nut cheese cake and a surprise additional dessert of a banana cake drizzled with chocolate and better, this just gave the final finish to just such an amazing evening<br/><br/>Definitely the Kream of the crop

Food was so-so but the service was so wrong. My guests raved about the food so in fairness to the Restaurant my taste buds may have been on leave. Will definitely give it another try soon...
Maria Fernanda Carvajal-Navia
The restaurant is pleasingly decorated: dim lighting, Norman Catherine prints and other African art on the walls, interesting lamps hanging from the ceilings, white cotton tablecloths. We were kindly welcomed at the reception, and after a few minutes’ wait at the bar -that displays an impressive array of whiskies and offers cocktails on tap- we were shown to our table by Roman, the manager. His warmth, bubbliness and attention to our comfort was most endearing: he rotated the table around to ensure that, when seated, all three of us had the best possible views, and when we had finished our bottle of wine offered us a glass to be shared among us, sensing correctly that we needed just that little bit more.<br/><br/>The wine was excellent and the food was promptly served and was glorious: The sushi, that I’d thought could not possibly impress, was exceptional, said S; the oysters were better and fresher than those he’d had by the seaside, said D; and the potato mash infused with cauliflower that accompanied my fillet special was the best mash I have ever had in my life. We then shared a chocolate and hazelnut gateaux that was heavenly.<br/><br/>I can only think of one thing that could be improved: it’d be lovely if after such exquisite food they offered infusions with real herbs -rather than in teabags-; that’d make it even more wonderful.
Sarisha Sankar
The service is impeccable. The restaurant is comfortable and spacious and just so lovely to look at.<br/>The oxtail is absolute must but come hungry. The portion is substantial.

It one of the best restaurants I've been to, although at first I requested to sit next to the window but they said my reservation was a bit late and we had to sit in the middle of the restaurant then after 15min they got us a very private table next to the window .<br/><br/>The Ambience was very classy and relax , people there seem to be very chilled, the food was really delicious and the way they present the dish adds up a lots of appetite! <br/><br/>Starters we had:<br/>Scallops<br/>Seared duck <br/>Crocodile carpaccio<br/>Mushroom and biltong soup<br/><br/>We were so full after the starters~ we had two main course to share between 3 of us<br/><br/>Main course:<br/>Seared salmon<br/>Oxtail<br/><br/>Desert :<br/>Crème brulee <br/>Cake ( compliment for birthdays)<br/><br/>Excellent service! Nothing to complain very impressed with everything, definely will come visit again .

Kream restaurant has a great atmosphere with spectacular views across Johannesburg. The lamb shank and fillet steak with truffle sauce was a winner. The scallops was on the small side but the trinchaedo and duck starter was tender and great. All in all a great experience our service ambassador was very knowledgeable on the wines and food

My hubby and I celebrated our 5th anniversary at Kream, it was by far one of our best anniversary's. the food was amazing and the service just as great. For starters I had scallops with vanilla pea purée, my hubby had the beef trinchado. Our mains where the smoked pork belly and lamb shank. Our desserts where their infamous candy crush and the choc gateaux. The meals where 10/10 from presentation to taste. We ended out night with a stunning anniversary plate from Kream. Well worth every scent. Will definitely be going back!

Ambiance and service was excellent.  Unfortunately, the food wasn't to my liking at all. <br/>Creamed Risotto  -average.  <br/>Prawns with lemon butter, prawns with chilli, lime and coriander, Calamari -nothing hit the spot sadly.  Not much of a fine dining experience. Didn't bother with desert.<br/>The best tasting thing on the table was the bread with different butters.

My partner surprised me with a visit to Kream one Friday night - as I had been wanting to go for quite some time - and it was all I expected and more. The service was impeccable (something you expect at a fine dining restaurant) but felt more personal than other fine dining establishments. The food - where do I begin? From the presentation to the flavours, every dish was delicious. Must try: the scallops starter and the salmon main! Will most definitely be back.

Service was the best part of this experience.<br/>Wrong starter, undercooked Cape malay chicken.im actually feeling sick from seeing that pink chicken. Our waiter Owen was great. Great vibe and amazing decor and style.

My second visit to this wonderfully run establishment. It's very classy, excellent service from very well trained staff and fantastic food. The bread rolls were warm and tasty tapas. I had the Fillet Camembert and it was made to perfection. The Blondie Brownie desert also did not disappoint. My table of 6 all had a great experience and cannot fault anything. However, there's always room for improvement in the pursuit of perfection. I would have to say that the wine menu is overpriced. I'm also not a fan of the fact that there are now just too many tables, so you sit very close and feel crammed in, waiters had a hard time getting around and between tables. My first visit a while ago was not so crammed and this added to the ambience. <br/><br/>Would highly recommend for any occasion and great for business meetings too.
Joseph Mupfudze
It was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Started the luncheon off with a sushi platter and not being a seafood fanatic, I was definitely reconsidering my choices. After that, we tucked into the mains where I ordered the most amazing Fillet Camembert 😋<br/><br/>Service and quality of food were definitely top class!👌🏾 Great experience!<br/>

Enjoyed my 1st visit to this restaurant. Our table was close to the entrance but the restaurant was warm enough...the cold breeze did not affect us. The food did not come as requested, was returned and new dishes were brought to us. <br/>The peri-peri livers were not spicy as expected by the description. <br/>The drinks selection was good and the cocktails went down well. I'll visit this place again to give it another try

It didn't meet my expectations... I thought service standard could improve. The only thing I enjoyed was the wine... Which I can get anywhere... I wanted the ambiance and I didn't quite get it.

Romantic atmosphere and excellent food and service. They went the extra mile for our anniversary and made it such a special evening. Will most definitely return and suggest this restaurant as a place to spoil yourself and loved ones for any occasion.

My first time at the Mall of Africa. Went to Kream with 3 other work colleagues. The ambience is very nice as well as the decor and the general feel of the restaurant quite relaxing. Really good wine list with some good selections in particular the steenberg pinotage, which we ordered. As for the msin course which we went straight into two of us ordered the fillet marrowbone and the others the pork neck and pork belly. I heard no complaints from my colleagues about their pork belly and pork neck, both of them saying it was exceptional. As for the fillet marrowbone it was excellent and the the fact that I was the last to finish eating was not because I am a slow eater, but because the food was so good I could not rush it. The fillet cooked perfectly with the combination of the marrowbone very very good. Certainly a lovely venue for a special occasion or a romantic dinner for two. Will definitely be back with my partner.

What a disappointment. I took my husband there for his bday on 9 July. After a lovely day at Monte Casino we decided to skip all those nice restaurants to go to the "best" Kream. Needless to say that both of our orders was wrongly prepared. After a while my <br/>@husband send his back to the griller. He said he messed up, but nobody offered to take anything of the bill. Just a complementary coffee was offered. We were so disappointed. Kream @ Mall of Africa will not see us again. With a bill of R650 later....very poor!!!<br/><br/>

Has another incredible dinner at Kream. It was my third time and I still had the same dish. The bone marrow fillet. It is perfection! Had the chocolate ganache dessert this time and I loved it. Kream is really a wonderful dining experience and excellent for special occasions. Great service too.

Firstly, I must say that the service at Kream is incredible. It's very well organized and they have very specific staff which will assist you for various type of things. The waiters are also well trained and they do their job very professionally. <br/><br/>The portions of the food are huge, something that I didn't expect but also quite satisfied as I think that's how it's supposed to be at other restaurants as well. <br/><br/>As to how the food tasted, I can say that it's great. The curry was amazing but the pasta had slightly too much sauce in it. The fact that I could ask them to alter a few ingredients in the sauce showed that they were made in the moment and not prepared beforehand. I'd definitely be back for another meal with my family soon.

Kream is a fantastic restaurant at the Mall of Africa. Everything from the atmosphere to the food was great for a night out. The selection of breads/rolls went perfectly with the various types of butters and tapanades offered (biltong/salted butter/olive). We ordered starters of the livers and trinchado which were perfect to start the meal. <br/>For mains I had the confit duck l'orange. It was dressed with a mash, spinach and carrots and the ending result was perfectly tender and great tasting. My friends ordered the smoked porked belly and the sirloin with biltong and blue cheese. Both were also great with everything cooked perfectly and no need for additional spicing. We had to try their candy crush dessert since we saw the pictures from previous reviews. The desert was very unusual with candy floss, popcorn, gin jelly and bubblegum ice cream. Somehow it just worked and was a good end to the meal. <br/>Overall it was a great place and would recommend Kream for a special night out out.
Priyal Pillay
Beautiful restaurant, tastefully set up... but my livers starter was probably the worst dish I had this whole year. The livers were rock hard and worst of all the sauce seemed to be heavily doused with raw chilli paste. Returned it after one bite and was given a new plate but same result. I ordered a medium rare steak with bone marrow which was good but couldn't finish it after my disastrous starter. My night was done. Very disappointing- I had high hopes

Mall of Africa is a Tad out the way for me, so going there is a treat an visiting Kream was so as well. <br/><br/>Beautiful decor with prompt friendly service from our waitron, the runners an some dude signing the house specials, <br/><br/>Great to see a new restaurant on top form when pretty much full up on a week night, I will definitely return if I'm out of my 8km bubble

Kream at MOA, wow what a pleasant experience. I found it great that the manager was always on the floor and was the one who takes your order and recommends "special of the day" he knew the menu inside out and recommended I try out their famous T-bone steak, I'm definitely impressed by their standard. And I got a complimentary birthday cake and shot lol.

I've been to this Kream twice, and both times were incredible experiences. <br/>The staff is very professional and went out their way to make sure we were happy. <br/>The place is clean and classy, but still has a relaxed feel. There is a private dining area for parties or events.<br/>The food is beautiful! I had the lamb shank, which was done to perfection. The mash potato that comes with was absolutely delicious. <br/>I will definitely visit again

Enjoyable experience with gourmet food, excellent service and spot on recommendations for specials of the day. Lamb shank was supreme and the summer fruit crêpe stack was a refreshing dessert.

Kream is a visually stunning restaurant. Ambiance is fantastic. Service is wonderful, cannot be faulted.<br/><br/>For starters we had the prawn maki. The sushi was fresh and delicious. We were then given a palate cleanser, which could be sold as a drink itself. It was really tasty.<br/><br/>For mains we had the deboned chicken with skinny fries. I was not a fan of the veg that it was served with. The chicken itself was tasty, however, the peri peri sauce on top did not taste great. My boyfriend had the lemon and herb flavour and he enjoyed is.<br/><br/>For dessert we had to have the candy crush. Looked better than it tasted. The cheesecake on its own was tasty, but all the other elements on the plate were too sweet.<br/><br/>I would be returning to kream. Its a brilliant restaurant. I would just order differently next time....

Severely underwhelming, ingredients were missing from my dish. Poor hygiene makes for a very uneasy dining experience. The service is rather confused.

This is the second time we have visited Kream in the mall of Africa. I have been meaning to try the original in Pretoria for years now but never got around to it. Thankfully one opened up in Midrand which is a lot closer. Both experiences have been exceptional. Food and waiters cannot be faulted. Overall a great dinning experience

Went to Kream for my 30th bday celebration. <br/>Service, ambiance, decor and food was exceptional. <br/>The wine list was extensive and had anything you could possibly want. <br/>We had a Camembert starter off the specials list with poached pears in red wine and phyllo pastry. Was delicious.<br/>I then had From our waters - the seared salmon with prawn mousse and puff pastry. It was so good and cooked to perfection, super fresh and tasty. <br/>My boyfriend has the lamb shank which fell off the bone and was a lovely size. <br/>Dessert was Creme brûlée which was also lovely. <br/>All in all an amazing venue and overall dining experience.

What a restaurant!<br/>Service was brilliant, food was outstanding. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The staff were friendly and professional. Atmosphere was stunning! Will definitely be back!

So went to Kream at the Mall Of Africa on a double date with some friends - highlights included the Gin on tap with Grapefruit 👍and the Calamari main!! However my friends fish of the day was overcooked and dry - the chicken curry also missed a kick to it and was slightly disappointing! Would definitely go again to test the waters👍

It was a lovely experience. The manager was kind enough to give us free drinks after our waiter didn't bother coming back to us after she gave us a table.<br/><br/>Went again and this time around the service was absolutely amazing. Had lamp chops and they were perfectly done. Their signature dish of a lamb shank is one that every foodie should try. Their cocktails are worth every penny
Melao Mashale
Had a family meal of 7, had 6 attend our side plates were taken away. They didn't want to give us bread and one of us has issue with every course from starters, mains (bland fish, wrong order) & finally a cold malva pudding to seal the night. After hearing so much about this place what a let down 😪

Last night we went for dinner at Kream, Mall of Africa. The service is fantastic as we were served by waiters and the stunning Romon the manager. The wide array of wine list choices and suggestions by Romon ensured we had a great choice with our meals.<br/>Our starters included the bone marrow, salmon tian and peri peri chicken livers. Our only suggestion would be to add a Melba toast or crunch to the salmon tian.<br/>Mains included a variety of steaks... what Kream are best known for.<br/>Unfortunately... our meals arrived COLD and my husband sent his back to be warmed. It was still cold when it returned!<br/>We decided to take our meals home and when opening the boxes at home, I had been given someone else's half eaten meat!!<br/>We visit the Brooklyn restaurant very often and unfortunately, will stick to Kream Brooklyn in future.<br/>

Thank you Kream Mall of Africa for making our anniversary so special! We have always loved the restaurant but today on our anniversary you excelled yourself. For starters we had the Lime, coriander, chili and soy pearl oysters, for mains my wife had the smoked pork belly and I had one of the chef's specials the ostrich, as with all our previous experiences at Kream the food was cooked to perfection and the presentation was fantastic. A special thank you to our service ambassador Lebo and our waitress Thembi you made our evening one to never forget, from the rose, the service and the very special dessert and photo at the end, thank you!
Farzana Hiralall
Celebrate my anniversary at Kream, and was absolutely worth it.Had requested for a private seating area when making my reservation ,however it seemed that was not noted when we were seated. After making a request to the waitress about this we were promptly moved to a more appropriate seating area.<br/><br/>The waitress and management were great and constantly checked on us, their knowledge of the meals and general mannerisms where great. <br/><br/>Every meal we had was sublime and could not be faulted. The portion size was pretty decent and we left full and satisfied with every course.<br/><br/>Would definitely return.
Bonolo Mogotsi
I came here for my birthday. I love Kream. Service & aesthetically pleasing. <br/><br/>I had the biltong sirloin which wasn't bad. But my boyfriend had their pork belly which was absolutely divine.
Nqobile Msibi
I came here one night with my brother and cousin who was fresh off a flight from Mauritius and I do not regret that decision. The decor is stunning and even though this place is upmarket it is not overly snooty so all people can feel comfortable when dining here. The wait staff are efficient, friendly and eager to answer any questions you may have although some training on which wines go best with which meals would be an added bonus. The quality of the meals as well as the portion sizes are worth their price and I will definitely be back here.

Kream was our choice of restaurant for a birthday celebration yesterday. We opted to be seated upstairs for a little privacy and to enjoy the spectacular views. We were warmly welcomed and when we asked for our table to be changed, this was arranged immediately. For starters we had the wild mushroom tart and tempura rolls. The mushroom tart was a really great vegetarian option and the crispy onion rings were the highlight of the dish for me. For mains we opted for the Cajun hake served with fries and the grilled calamari with chilli, lime and coriander sauce. Both meals were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. For dessert, there is no option other than the crème brûlée. Always a winner and never ever disappoints. A perfect evening at Kream - thank you!!

The staff was very friendly and the food was very nice. Our waitress, Poppy did such a great job in welcoming us,I'm definitely coming back!

I've been here twice. Once in the middle of the week with an overseas client for dinner and once with my partner on a Friday night. It's pricey but it was a real treat and I have no problem paying for an expensive dinner if it is great and I can't cook something better at home. I love this restaurant. Well worth the money
Selloane
This was firstly meant to come with mashed potato which to my horror when I get home there is no mashed potato but worse off the duck is soo over cooked I can't even eat it. I'm so disgusted that this is the standard of food that Kream is now selling I'd strongly strongly advise people not going here.
ILoveGoodFood
I've dined here several times now and am yet to be disappointed. The service is truly impeccable. The hostesses are always friendly on arrival. Complementary breads & butters always on point. On this particular day I had off menu items (something I highly recommend). Starters were baked Camembert with garlic focaccia as well as crispy calamari. Both absolutely delicious. For mains: Chicken quarters on a bed of pea risotto with butternut purée. My goodness. As simple as this meal sounds, it was heaven on a plate. The chef must really love his/her job. Kream isn't cheap but my is it worth every cent. A definite Yay from me.

My lady and I went there for our 10th anniversary on the 16th of April, from the moment we got there we were taken by the beauty and ambience of kream and then met with warmth and friendliness by the staff. The food was nothing short of amazing, they made our night all that more special. Kream MOA is definitely worth a visit. THANK YOU!

The decorations and seating area are very pleasant. The management and waiters are very welcoming. After we have seated, we have been greeted with foods which we didn't order, it's quite funny but we also learned the portion of the food which helps with the ordering. The breads with 4 different butter and paste are very good. We have ordered the Oxtail and Chicken confit. It is brilliantly done with veggie on the side, which makes it a balance dishes. Love it overall. The only thing which is shocking is the price of the Long Island Ice Tea, they charged it R90-00 which is over priced compare to the portion.

Visited Kream on Tuesday evening for a birthday dinner. We were seated at a private table surrounded by wine. Service was incredible with both a waitress and management serving us. We were a table of 9 and decided to order starters to share - chicken livers, wild mushroom tart, snails and bone marrow. The mushroom tart was delicious as a vegetarian option. The pallet cleanser offered was wonderful and the meals are presented beautifully. For our main meal my table ordered the lamb shank, pork belly, vegetarian pasta, kingklip, venison, sirloin and I chose the chicken confit. The chicken was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. We were too stuffed to eat dessert but will definitely be back to try dessert. Their little chocolates that come with the bill are all kinds of amazing. Our waitress was incredible with recommending a wine we would like and offered us a lovely option.

We had a secluded table setting with the coolest chairs and a beautiful view. The seclusion meant no distractions which was really awesome. This was the first time I tasted "PAP". I have no reference to rate it against but I am certain my boer man will make the most divine pap for me as he is the ultimate braai master!!! My cosmopolitan was very strong so just has a few sips. Our starters were crumbed calamari with a chilli and lime dressing which I thought was really yummy. Our main course included grilled chops with pap and corn on the cob and ementhal cheese steak. A good dining experience overall... Hendrik F Kotze

Ate at Kream for a family member's birthday and it was an awesome experience. I had the fillet topped with bone marrow, and it was one of the best steaks I've had to date. Will definitely recommend this place.
Cheryl De Wild
My husband and I have been to Kream, Mall of Africa about 7 times for 3 course dinners and they've never disappointed. The food, atmosphere, wine menu and service is excellent! We've had a variety of meals and their always accommodating for changes/additions. I'd recommend them to anybody who enjoys exceptional food and service!
Varsha Narothum
Ate the sole here on Friday night and had such bad food poisoning that I couldn't even walk yesterday and today. My friend sent her food back 3 times because the steak was overdone then underdone and she asked for medium. The cocktails didn't taste like cocktails and tasted like alcohol with ice. Service was poor as we couldn't even pay because no card machines were working and we hardly saw the waitress.
NancyBeTooFancy
When we came in we were sat and offered water and whilst we waited for the water 2 other waiters came to offer us water aswell. Initially I thought it was abit annoying (the constant disruptions) however they are so attentive and want to make sure you are served which you cannot fault. The food was outstanding well seasoned and super tasty. My co diner had the deboned peri peri chicken which was flame grilled perfectly and not overwhelmed by the marinade in the slightest so you could taste the chicken itself. While I had the oxtail with the truffle samp👅 whoa! No words to describe how delicious that was. The drinks were flowing top up game on point 👌🏽. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. A very pleasant experience.

Amazing food and service. Our waiter, Starch was unbelievable. Recommended all our meals and his choices were superb. Chicken livers, blue cheese snails, prawn sushi, baby kingklip, lamb chops and hake were all presented beautifully. Fish was done to perfection. Kingklip was crispy on the outside and succulent in the inside. Highly recommended. Unfortunately no room for dessert. Next time!

Great evening out. Food was excellent. Ambiance was perfect, busy and Vibey even though it was a Monday night. But service was average, waitress did not check on us enough/pour our wine or order coffees
Jan Nel
African chic setting. Afro Asian fusian. Good food prepared really well. Wonderful friendly staff. Sampled the marrow fillet. Tuna tartar and salmon mouse. Great wine list. Not to be missed.

What an absolutely breathtaking experience last night at Kream MOA! <br/><br/>This restaurant has it all.. The ambiance, the views, the panoramic sunsets, the romantic lighting details, luxurious interiors, comfortable seating, hands on service that makes you feel like a VIP, knowledgable staff and of course mouthwatering fine dining with extravagant plating and incredible attention to detail!! I am a firm believer that the difference between good and great is PRESENTATION and Kream nailed it! <br/><br/>On my plate for the evening:<br/>Baked Camembert accompanied with toasted brioche served with candied whole nuts, dried cranberries and a baby pear poached in white wine.<br/>Calamari tubes grilled with rock salt and pepper accompanied with a deep fried rice noodles nest and served with squid ink mayo and Wasabi guacamole.<br/>Bone Marrow Fillet medium-rare: char-grilled beef fillet, roasted bone marrow, Bordelaise sauce, roasted onion, tomato, field mushroom & fondant potato.<br/>Smoked Pork Belly with apple & sage mashed potatoes, nutty butternut puree, and a Calvados & mustard sauce.<br/><br/>Onto the desserts (because no trip to Kream would be complete without me having their signature CANDY CRUSH dessert that made them so special to me years ago)… A colorful array of Rainbow Cheesecake, crushed candy cane, bubblegum ice cream, gin & tonic jelly, candy floss & candied popcorn AND <br/>a slice of the traditional lemon meringue slice with French-style meringue with lemon meringue gelato that accompanied my espresso.<br/><br/>I left so full that I battled to sleep but it was worth it! <br/><br/>A special mention to Romon who really did not stop moving from table to table the entire evening. His customer service is unlike anything that I've ever seen before and we wondered how he does not wear himself out. <br/><br/>*Recommendation: For the ultimate romantic dinner with stunning sundowners, or an executive business dinner to impress even the toughest crowd - I cannot recommend KREAM MOA more! <br/><br/>For more, find me on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter: LaurasWorldza

Love the food from Kream ! It's was a unplanned lunch out at the mall and we decided to treat ourselves ! The portion size is big. The sushi was fresh and the steak was done just right. It's on my list of back to visit places!!!

The Best Dinner experience I have ever had...The service was top notch, from reception to the table being served. Rauol explained their options with passion, before letting us opening the menu. The food 10/10. I am definitely coming back again and agaian and forever

My first experience at this restaurant did not go well to say the least.  I recently returned and was pleasantly surprised. the service was amazing and the food was just delicious.<br/><br/>I will definitely be going back!

We absolutely loved our Kream experience, the food was well prepared with detail and love the menu and the selection is any meat lovers dream. Will recommend this location for any romantic meal or business lunch to impress clients.

This is one of my personal favourites. We have been to Kream a couple of times now and we have always had a great experience! The food never disappoints, the service is good and the staff is always clued up on the daily specials. I love the vegetarian sushi, its topped with a yummy honey glaze. The look and feel of restaurant is beautiful, especially if you manage to get a table on the roof just before sunset!

I still think Kream Brooklyn has better EVERYTHING. My first trip to the mall since it opened about a year ago. Perfect location, nice ambience but not-so-great service

My friends and I absolutely love Kream at Mall of Africa. The Service is always Superb and the food is Amazing.<br/>We always look forward to going there and having a relaxed dinner in a warm and welcoming environment. <br/>

Liked the idea of the manager explaining dishes that's on special and on the menu. It is always refreshing to know that the staff is on top of what is happening on the menu and can explain the dishes in a way that makes you want to order an specific item. If only it tasted as good as it sounded !

Very good experience with the family celebrating a birthday. Service was fantastic with little details like putting a plate in front of the peraon who ordered the dish without asking. Great recommendations. Amazing food cooked to perfection. Beautiful decor. Truly wonderful experience. The Oxtail is yummy as is the Fillet Camembert.

Silver service but not pretentious. Good food and worth a visit. Great wine list. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food and the finer things in life, but is also down to earth.

Firstly it's located in the best part of the mall, out in the food court but on the end of the water feature that overlooks the garden and PwC tower. The layout is similar to the Kream in Pretoria but it's the mall version. I wouldn't recommend sitting outside because I was troubled by some insects which disturbed the pleasant experience. The food, service and atmosphere overall was great, also very well priced. Due to its location, it's ideal for a lunch or early dinner amidst shopping.

Needing to while away some time enroute to Pretoria last week, the solution seemed an impromptu lunch at a midway point resulting in lunch at Kream, Mall of Africa. We were impressed by the wine list, a lovely selection and specifically two Chardonnay favourites. It seemed we made a good choice. We didn't have much time so we ordered from the sushi menu, the weather also dictated something cooling and fresh. <br/><br/>Although the restaurant was relatively empty, we waited a long time for our dishes, which we only minded as a result of not having much time to start with. It was worth the wait however, fresh and lovely presented sushi. We left satisfied and happy to return, which we did a week later.<br/><br/>The interior is lovely, and you don't really have a sense of being in a "mall restaurant". The staff at times are great and very friendly, with a very organised manager. There were moments where there were no staff to be found and we had to fill our own glasses. That said, with a bit more training, like: don't remove plates until everyone at the table has finished a meal, would make a big difference, as well as trying not to congregate at the front of the restaurant chatting so often. <br/><br/>These things are minor though, as the food is the most important aspect really. And sadly it disappointed the entire table.<br/><br/>We ordered starters, two dishes from the menu and one special of the day. The Brie parcel was rather tasty, but overall nothing was particularly fresh or well seasoned. I had the beetroot carpaccio which had old micro leaves and zero taste. I have had a beetroot carpaccio at Cafe Del Sol which is simply divine, so ended up very disappointed with my choice. The calamari special starter looked average and apparently tasted as much. My main was vegetarian sushi and again, that was clearly the better choice. The steak and truffle and red wine was drenched in the sauce and this unfortunately hid any flavour of the meat I was told. The tiger prawn dish, also from the specials menu lacked any "wow" flavour, given the description of the meal. The worst was the very obvious tired and wilted addition of leaves, including a very sad strawberry on the daiquiri. A lovely thought however was bringing us palate cleansers in the form of virgin daiquiris served in small quantities, for free. <br/><br/>We concluded that we would return solely based on the wine selection and order sushi, to be safe. <br/><br/>The 3 stars as it were is as a result of their lovely wine selection and effort In service.

Kream is always an experience and never just a meal. From the food to the ambience and service...You can never go wrong. This time I had strawberry and avo sushi with cream cheese it was super delish...also the fish superb. and then I finished it off with the candy crush. An absolute must. I also love that the managers are always checking in on you and making you feel welcomed and spoilt.

I had been yearning to dine at Kream for a very long time and I finally got the opportunity to on my birthday. It was all that I expected it to be and honestly said , even more. Immediately when you walk in ,one is blown into awe just from the mere sight of the clean, slick and oh so elegant architecture and design of the restaurant. As an artist I adored that fact that art was celebrated and appreciated both in the plating of food and off the plate . The pieces of art that dressed the walls truly compliment the restaurant itself. The waiters and the managers were incrrrredibly inviting. I was impressed about how actively involved and passionate the managers were about/in the customer's experience. The food was great .It was cooked well and plated to perfection. Such an experience is quite pricey yes, but worth it! I suggest you attend in the evening to experience the golden illumination and witness how that sets the ambiance too. Truly great. I recommend it hundred percent. Thanks Kream

Good service, great food, and the unexpected extras just made our wedding anniversary even more special. Thanks.

Our expectations were very high based on the other reviews we read about Kream. We came here for a birthday dinner with friends and were sorely disappointed unfortunately. The service was very bad - whenever we needed to put in an order for drinks or dessert, flagging down a waiter was pretty difficult. In addition, when wanted to hear the specials of the day or the ice cream flavours we had to wait for a waiter to get the manager to explain them to us. Why the waiters don't know what the specials of the day are, I don't know. Guys, please empower your waiters! I ordered the fillet Camembert which was underdone. Granted when I did send it back, they gave me a fresh order. The sides were also under seasoned. My friend had the sirloin & snails and the snails were cold. We had dessert for ice cream - all of the flavours had a medicinal after taste. Total disappointment! We also called ahead to ensure there would be a slice of birthday cake for our friend when dessert arrived - it never arrived and when we asked about it we were met with blank stares by the staff. Considering the cost of the dinner, the food left much to be desired and the service was definitely not 5 star.

Just had the best steak I have had in Johannesburg at Kream. Service was excellent. Was there once before and tried the seared salmon which was also good. I would really recommend this restuarant. Try to go when they are not too busy. Late afternoon.

I came to Kream for a special occasion dinner, the restaurant is really beautiful is adorned with intricate decor and art.<br/>The whole party really enjoyed their food, I had the lamb loin which was perfectly cooked and came with a side of delicious sweet potato fries.<br/>I had the summer crepe stack for dessert which was very sweet and fresh and the berries were really delicious. <br/>Malls are not my favourite location for a restaurant but Kream is a great spot for a special occasion.
Neesha Fakir
Kream was a memorable dining experience. The service was unblemished and extremely amicable. The lamp chops were a surprise, I would rate them daring and flavourful. I would love to return again to try other options on the delectable menu.

After going twice to the kream in broolyn, I fell in love.<br/>How could I not visit this one?<br/>Anyway, it's a great restaurant.<br/>Same standard and I think the waiters have the same ability to treat people right.<br/>But this particular one pleased me more because of that balcony, it's a very nice spot at that corner.
Kaylee Oberholster
I very nice and fancy restaurant with a friendly and qualified staff. The food was very tasty and didn't take long to get to our table. The restaurant was very nicely decorated with a nice and vibey atmosphere. I would definitely come back :)

An incredibly fancy restaurant with impressive details everywhere. We were here for a friend's birthday and were a table of 15. The staff were quick to great and set us and seemed like they knew what they were doing. Kream - The drinks came quickly and the beers cold and fresh. The wine list was quite impressive with many wines and a variety of cocktails (grapefruit G&T is amazing). A good atmosphere, great company, speedy, tasty drinks - this is all shaping up to be a memorable experience. It was, right up until the point when we received our food. Halfway through the meal after asking around, there was only one person that truly had something good to say about the food (fish and chips).  Everyone (including myself) had been completely underwhelmed by the meal they received. My steak (blue cheese and biltong) was a combo that sounded so delicious on paper but dissapointed - the biltong was cooked (so it turned hard) and the blue cheese was used sparingly. The biggest issue was the flavour of the steak itself there wasn't any. It felt like a dry, chewy piece of meat slapped together with a few toppings. This coupled with the air conditioning not working and 5+ flies at our table left much to be desired. <br/>The biggest issue is from the look and feel of the venue you expect an almost life-changing meal and it just doesn't arrive. At R170 for a sirloin, it isn't cheap either. Greater quality meals can be had at the same mall for much less. <br/>Pity, I had really hoped it'd be better.

Has a great menu that caters for all pallets.<br/>Decor is smart. Has views from the balcony.<br/>All round service was good. Food was superb.<br/>Worth the visit.

Food was very good. We walked in for a small bite, and was not disappointed. My wife's mojito was disappointing though. It was a hot day, and the temperature was very inconsistent....hot....warm....hot...and we specifically asked for a spot closest to a aircon.<br/>Service: ok<br/>Cost:almost fair.<br/><br/>
Stephanie Baker
Perfect place for that special celebration! Had the best 22nd birthday thanks to Kream.. myself and my parents all had a starter and a main and then we shared one dessert. (Let's just say we walked out a few kg heavier but was so worth it). <br/>I had the lamb shank and it was mouth watering! My Dad had a mushroom and biltong soup which I tasted and was also delicious.<br/>Love love love. <br/>Here are some pics of all the amazing dishes we got to experience!
Gladys Leboho
The place was so lovely, it looked so classy. A host came and told us all the chef recommendations for the day and he was passionate about the food. He gave us a lovely service. The waitress however wasnt so great. She was quite demeaning. Also she brought us dirty cutlery twice, we even ended up using wipes to clean it. I had the lamb chops with sweet potato fries. The chops were a bit bland but the sweet potato chips were so so great. Loved them. Their mojito was also wonderful. This place is a bit on the pricy side but its a lovely experience
Deeregie
Amazing food with portions larger than I anticipated. Staff was super helpful too and the wine selection is superb, got a table even without reservation and that just blew my mind considering how full and busy it was in there they were able to squeeze us in. Definitely a favorite spot now.
Nadine Pretorius
What an amazing experience, beautiful view, great service, and the food was amazing! I had duck and my husband fillet! Ridiculously delish! Will definitely be back
David Ryan
My girlfriend spoiled me on my birthday and took me here for dinner. It's listed as fine dining and the food is very tasty. A nice pallet cleanser between starters and mains was a nice touch. The service was very good and on the ball. It however was not very intimate and our table felt like an after thought in view of boxes and a messy store room like area.
Linda Meyer
I must confess that I had no interest in visiting the Mall of Africa! Attended a birthday event at Kream, and was pleasantly surprised. The sushi 🍣 is fantastic. The Restuarant is in an outside area - similar to the Firs. Service was acceptable.
Vanessa Manugu
Finally...I got to dine here. Getting a reservation confirmed was not the easiest thing especially since it was a Friday night. Got a table upstairs which is better than downstairs in my opinion.<br/><br/>I ordered the sirloin steak special. At first I thought it's gonna come plainly presented, like other establishments. But OMW, look at that beauty. The taste was divine. I had a little bit of the lamb shank, very tender and delicious.<br/>I ended my dinner with sorbet - strawberry and mango. I was halfway to heaven. I ordered a Glen Carlou chardonnay and the manager forgot about my order until I reminded him.<br/>I love the decor, the perfume choices in the toilet. It's really a great option for a lavish affordable outing.<br/><br/>I didn't like the short skirts on the waitresses though. Some were extremely tight and looked uncomfortable. Short is not elegant if it's not worn right.<br/><br/>I would have given them a 4.5 if it weren't for drink mishap and wardrobe malfunctions.<br/><br/>
Orapeleng.lebethe
Beautiful place that is complemented by the most amazing quality of food. The ambience is heaven. Once you go Kream, you will never go back.

How other would you describe Kream's food than Magical! The dishes are so beautifully prepared one doesn't even want to mess up the design on the plate! Kream is next level and a foodies dream. Food is so tasty and delicious and venue is so elegant!
Suzan Radinne
The ambience, service and food is awesome. I love good food and my experience in Kream always is always magical. From starters to desserts, one my ultimate favourites.

Listen,<br/>I'm going to honest. <br/>This place has all the lovely trimmings of a five-star dinning experience but falls short on delivery of what's actually on the plate. <br/><br/>The service was really good<br/>I liked the general restaurant layout<br/>It's a comfortable place to spend a couple of hours and it's nice and quiet, even when it's full.<br/><br/>I have no idea how the Dinning experience at their Pretoria restaurant is but this hosts a similar menu to other restaurants of this nature (as expected) the disappointment only arrives with execution.<br/><br/>My brother had the sirloin; I had the chicken trio (this is not the time, but signature makes the same dish and cooks it perfectly every time, if you are curious)<br/>Both were a little overcooked - my chicken breast came really really dry (I had to order extra sauce to help me ingest it) and I struggled to get some of the flavours the menu promised on. my brother's dish. <br/>All in all a little bland, but bearable.<br/><br/>Dessert menu was nice (to read)<br/>My brother ordered the brownies, which again arrived really chewy (I suspect a closer to raw than baked).<br/>I ordered "candy crush" which sounded really innovative but was actually a bit of a mess. <br/>I'm so sorry: my favourite part of the meal was the table breads and olive / biltong-butter spreads.<br/><br/>Beautiful layout with all that daylight - the choice of furniture I liked too. A Lovely place to have a lunch meeting, see a few good people, or go for drinks maybe and but don't expect to be too impressed by what comes out the kitchen.

Hit and miss on dishes but mostly misses. After all the positive reviews, we were underwhelmed. Firstly it's not fine dining in the true sense. The chef seems to miss flavour pairings. I had the special Baramundi. Unflavoured fish and basmati rice with a red mayonnaise sauce and roasted tomatoes. It lacked flavour and cohesion. The kudu special was however really tasty . Sushi delicious Dessert, the candy crush confirmed that the chef doesn't really pair flavors well. Overall a stunning venue. Great wine selection<br/>Request a seat near the window facing the gardens

Out of this world experience. Service, food, atmosphere: 10/10!<br/>We were treated like royalty and the food melted in my mouth!<br/>We had the steak with melted camembert, wow!

Took customers to Kream the other day as I've heard good things about it. The positive stories are mostly spot-on; great food, bustling atmosphere and awesome cocktails.<br/>Not the place for a quiet romantic evening - it's very noisy, but if you're there in a party of 4 or more then it makes for a good vibe.

We had dinner here with my colleagues. Fantastic atmosphere and superb service! Couldn't be better. We really enjoyed our evening at this new restaurant!

Kream is great cos of the location. We went early and had a drink on the balcony...had an amazing view of the sunset with my candy floss martini, which was really good. We went downstairs for dinner. I had the snails with a creamy garlic sauce to start...it was good. Followed that up with a bone marrow fillet which I enjoyed. They also brought us complementary mango & chili sorbet, and chocolates at the end which was a nice touch. Service was so inconsistent tho...my waitress was very attentive in the beginning, then got caught up with another much larger table. I had to ask twice for napkins, which is strange not to have in the first place.

Visited on a Friday evening with a group of 10 for two birthdays.<br/>First impressions were excellent! The restaurant is situated on the exterior piazza at the Mall Of Africa, and has a stunning view from the romantic outside seating, both downstairs as well as upstairs. Inside the restaurant is fairly large with ample seating on two levels, including some areas which can be turned into private "rooms" by means of curtains. Quite opulent with service to match. The assistance from our hostess was flawless, and very impressive. Attention to detail is the name of the game here, and guests are treated as kings and queens, giving one the feeling that no request is impossible here. The main course dishes were stunningly presented, and I have to mention that the portion size was notably impressive on all our selections, without exaggeration probably double of what I was expecting from a fine dining restaurant... real value for money. The same goes for the desserts, well presented with great portion sizes, absolutely delicious! Then came the pièce de résistance... the guests celebrating their birthdays were presented with complimentary flute-glass drinks on decorated plates, including enveloped copies of a picture taken by our hostess earlier that evening! What a thoughtful touch... we were impressed!<br/>A truly memorable experience, this is what fine dining is all about - I have a new favorite and we'll definitely be back! A big thank-you to our hostess Christina and management.

We went for a team dinner and made our reservation..upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and taken to a gorgeous privatise dining area (we could close the curtains then it would be fully private)..such a gorgeous set up I must say..spectacular service and great food..I ordered a non alcoholic mohitjo and they brought me an alcoholic one (ooopsie) but the manager quickly resolved it and watched over while they made my new one..I had the chefs recommendation on the linefish which was beautifully presented and tasted great..for dessert I had the candy crush and the swiped my gin and touch jelly for a scoop of chocolate ice cream which was great service yet again..the dessert was FABULOUS you have to try it..I will most certainly be back..Note: the service and food here is sooooo much better than the brooklyn branch..keep it up

I've been to Kream in Brooklyn and was thoroughly impressed with the style, quality and service.  So naturally I've been very curious to try out the one at Mall of Africa.  And I know it probably isn't fair to compare with previous experiences elsewhere.  But I must admit, I wasn't blown away.  It can be for a variety of reasons, one being that we had quite a large group booking, so it isn't always possible to get the same amount of personal attention as one would when you're a party of two.  But the waiter did a good job, he did get a little scarce after we placed our orders for mains and towards the end of the evening, but he was very knowledgeable and professional - and even had some personal menu suggestions.  We ordered a variety of cold starters to share - all very tasty, my personal favourites being the beef carpaccio and salmon tian.  Really delicious and moreish, I could've ordered double portions for mains!  I was a bit disappointed with my main meal though - I ordered Chicken Trio - and the deboned thigh and chicken breast was quite dry and underseasoned, and comparing it with the meals of the rest of my party, also seemed to be a relatively small portion.  I tasted some of the seared salmon and lamb shank  - and it was very tasty.  The creme brulee for dessert was divine, and the candyfloss cheesecake looked very impressive and pretty, but lacked a bit in taste and oooomph.  But overall, a good experience.

After a visit at Kream in Pretoria, we visited Kream in Midrand and it was such a treat - whether you just want to dine out, or go for a special event.<br/><br/>Ambience: Trendy, relaxed, stylish.<br/><br/>Drinks: They have interesting drink options to offer and a reasonable wine list, so wines also sold by the glass.<br/><br/>Menu: They offer a lovely menu with enough interesting options for everyone.<br/><br/>Service: Excellent!! All waiters are properly trained, take away the plates when everyone is done eating, treat customers with much respect, are well informed. It is a vital part of the Kream-experience.<br/><br/>Price: Some people might be under the impression that their prices are steep, but it is slightly above average - yoh will hardly pay more here than at a normal steak house.<br/><br/>Food: Excellent, tasty, cooked to perfection, lovely spiced and presented well.<br/><br/>This restaurant is a must try!!

Lunch at Kream after exploring Mall of Africa for the first time. I was guided to my seat and my waitress Poppy was really great. I received bread and the different spreads unfortunately I found a long string like plastic in one of the spreads. The manager apologized and took it away. I ordered the salmon fashion sandwich and prawn Cali roll along with a virgin strawberry daiquiri and plain water. I loved the view and the service. Il likely be back hopefully I don't find anything else in my food that's not meant to be there this time.

I am usually not a fan of restaurants located in a Mall, but have to say Kream in Mall of Africa was pleasant. Lots of attention service and the food was absolutely amazing.  I have been there 3 times already, and the every time has been consistent.  I love it!

What an enjoyable evening enjoying some fine dining with my best friend at Kream Restaurantt at Mall of Africa last night.<br/><br/>Kream is a stylish upmarket restaurant which strives to provide only the best food and service, bringing this together to create an unforgettable dining experience.<br/><br/>The setting is magical, unique decor (wire animals climbing the walls, indoor trees and great private dining areas, as well as the gently swaying orb lights that lend an almost magical air to the venue.)<br/><br/>The menu is average size, and although pricing slightly is high as to be expected of a venue of this calibre, the portion sizes are huge!<br/><br/>We shared a Beef Carpaccio with parmasan shavings, spring onions, rocket and fried capers, and the Roasted Bone Marrow, caramelised Pears & Onions, Garlic & Parsley salad for starters, both were large in size and very tasty.<br/><br/>For mains my dining partner highly enjoyed her Sirloin Snails – Char-grilled Sirloin, sautéed Snails in Herb Butter, Baby Spinach & Boulangère Potatoes. I opted for slightly lighter, salmon roses and california rolls off the sushi menu – which was plentiful and filling. <br/><br/>Add in two glasses of wine and the bill came to only R 500 odd – not too bad considering this is one of the top restaurants in Mall of Africa.<br/><br/>Service was good, if slightly over zealous, staff on a serious mission<br/><br/>Perfect for a date night, or to celebrate a super special occasion, and so pretty, I cant wait to return.
Stoil Michaylov
Great venue and fantastic service.<br/>The starter pork croquettes were phenomenal, but for me that's where it ended. <br/>You'd expect that the cocktails at R70 a pop are freshly made as opposed to machine concentrates.<br/>My main meal was the fish of the day. It came to my table so undercooked that I couldn't separate it a piece to taste, it was more sashimi. The manager took it back and offered me the salmon, that too was somewhat underdone but because my partner was halfway through her meal I didn't wanna sent it back and only ate around the raw centre. <br/>The cremebrule was ok. <br/>My partners fillet steak however was pretty awesome. <br/>I'm giving it a three because if you're going to charge a thousand bucks a couple, <br/>serving substandard food is just plain inexcusable. <br/>I'm not saying I won't return, but I will definitely not have seafood there.
Amy Desdemona Pavadal
I had the scallops for starters which was amazing although very small in size, this was my first taste of scallops so I will definitely be having this again. For mains, bone marrow fillet with skinny fries which was absolutely divine, medium rare. Service was outstanding, this was fine dining prices. Wines were brought to me for tasting before I could choose something I liked which was a pleasant surprise, I would recommend this restaurant, great atmosphere too. Stoil Michaylov thanks for a wonderful dinner

Tried this place after hearing all the hype. I was not blown away. It seemed like they had too many managers whom would become extremely annoying by coming to ask how the meal was going. Once is enough. <br/>The complimentary butter came at least 10 minutes before the bread leaving us rather confused about what to do with the butter on its own. <br/>Our waiter did not know the specials of the day and again had to find a manager which become quite a discussion between them all about who will come and talk to us. <br/>I had a T-Bone for mains, nice flavours in their sauce but the quality of meat was not great.<br/>However, the restaurant itself is really beautifully setup, great design and awesome bar area. <br/>Maybe they are still new and need time to get things right. I will give them another chance in a few months time.

I've eaten at the Pretoria branch numerous times. It was a nice surprise to learn that a branch has opened in Jozi. Being brand new, the restaurant itself is really well set up. We were a large table, and orders varied from veg platters, to fish to large blocks of meat. I ordered the sole. It was served off the bone which was great, but it was just ok. Strangely, the grilled broccoli was the stand-out flavour. The restaurant were great in accommodating a vegan, the manager made sure that all dietary requirements were taken into account. I'll be back soon!

I love coming to Kream Mall of Africa all the time. It has such an amazing vibe and the food is delicious. The service there is exceptionally good. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants.

I think the term 'hidden gem' also applies to Kream as one wouldn't generally expect to find a genuine 'fine dining' restaurant at a mall.<br/><br/>I've been to Kream a few times for dinner now and it does definitely live up to the fine dining term.<br/><br/>The layout and decor is beautiful. I like the fact that large parties that wish to be in a more private setting can easily be accommodated.<br/><br/>Now to the important part, the food. Before deciding on your food choice off the menu I would definitely recommend listening to their specials for the day as I've been swayed from my choice on a couple of occasions without any regrets.<br/><br/>Kream is without a doubt one of the best restaurants to order a steak at, their Camembert steak is one of my all time faves. The portion sizes are generous. <br/><br/>The service has always been good and there's attention to detail. I have to note that I find it interesting that the floor managers are the ones to the take your food orders rather than the waiter/waitress who initially sees to you. <br/><br/>Also a nice touch to have chocolates brought with your bill rather than the usual mundane mint.<br/><br/>All in all, a special find in the Mall of Africa.<br/><br/>

Celebrated my step moms birthday at Kream restaurant and the experience was terrific. I had the Australian Sea Bass which was accompanied by noodles and the meal was amazing. The service was absolutely top notch. Thank you for a great experience, keep up the good service and great food.

"We don't have a drinks menu, you just order what you want & we get it for you"... Kream was such an experience! Very upmarket restaurant. First time at a restaurant as fancy as this one and I was pleasantly surprised. Blown out the window surprised. There was one friendly "hostess" taking care of our table as well as 3 different people to take/bring our orders with each course. Sorbet palate cleansers in between courses, (I know right? Real TV type-stuff here) and there's even someone to grind pepper on your food for you! Staff is friendly but not over-imposing, not too distant either. But otherwise the food was great. Perfectly-cooked & with a Food Networkesque presentation. Looked a lot like care was put into it.  Very, very high prices though (A little too much?), which is in keeping with the target market and the  ambiance of the restaurant I guess. I had Quail as a starter, Confit Duck as a main (Yummy!) and we didn't have dessert because we'd brought our own birthday cake. They gave us a complementary Amarula shot & a printed birthday group picture which was so nice of them. Overall I give the place a whopping 4.5. Go try it out! Even if just for the experience.
Wikus Du Toit
Excellent and extremely well prepared food. Started with scallops which were amazing and then sushi and pork belly which were soft and succulent and with amazing flavour. Amazing service. If I had to be critical of one thing it would be the plating. Feels very dated with sauce-squiggles everywhere on the plates. Can be more current. Not mad for the cavernous venue and decor. Very good experience overall. Expensive but you get your full money's worth.
Eshwar Andhavarapu
Very good food here - but pricey and I am not sure the food matches the price. So they get a 3.5. But then again, Kream is aimed at a certain type of person - and I am not that.
Natasha
Nothing to rave about, food was average. I had a steak which was very disappointing... Hubby tried the sushi, which was just average. Wanted to try their candy floss dessert but service was pathetic (and the restaurant) was not busy at all, so had no choice but to get the bill and leave. Decor looks great, and first impression is this is a upmarket, good vibe restaurant - however this is definitely not the case. Staff and service would score a 1 out of 5!

What an amazing dinner!<br/>We went to do some shopping and at first weren't sure if the restaurant is a fit for a Wednesday night dinner but decided to give it a go. So happy we did!<br/>From the minute we walked in we had the best service, Lizzie our waitress and Ramon the manager were superb.<br/>The food was even better! For starters we had snails and the bone marrow, for mains the rump special and tuna steak special and the candy crush for dessert! Everything was superb but my favorite was the bone marrow starter.<br/>They have an amazing menu with many dishes I look forward to trying in the future

Another amazing experience at KREAM. Friday 16 Sept 2016.<br/><br/>The hubby and I went on a date night here 2 months back . We went because of the decor! I  knew of the branch in Pretoria, but it would have been too far for us - so when this branch opened we jumped at the chance. And our good fortune was that the amazing food, matched the amazing decor!<br/><br/> So for a friends 40th we recommended they book a private area here.  We can highly recommend all the food ordered! Mains - lamb Shank, Steak, Tuna . Starters - livers, marrow, salmon tian. Desserts - choc ganache, creme brulee and candy floss.  The service was a bit slow but expected when the restaurant was near capacity full at 8pm.  <br/>This is the 2nd time I have ordered the lamb shank - and it seems it maybe my standing order every time I visit - it is truly the best shank I have ever had! - I can't imagine eating anything else here :-)<br/><br/>So don't delay - I suggest KREAM be your next choice when visiting the Mall of Africa!
Garth Balabanoff
Enjoyed a rather pleasant evening here. Kream can be applauded on superb service and their focus on the attention to detail making sure you're comfortable. Food was served all together and hot. Looking forward to returning again.

KevFabFood has been to Brooklyn and Mall Of Africa and both have been superb, but with the Mall Of Africa branch being just that more special...incredible decor, friendly and attentive staff always willing to go the extra mile to make your evening special - food is delicious and impeccable - bravo to the chef! Always listen to the daily specials to experience something unique and delicious. We will be back and if you want a special, romantic restaurant - do not hesitate...book and enjoy!

A truly fine dining experience and well deserved of a rare 5 star rating from me! From the ambience when walking in to the friendliness and professionalism of the staff; everything was impeccable. The manager came personally to give the brief on the specials, and we never had to wait long for waiters. A wonderful team of waiters ensured that our glasses were always filled. The waiting time for food was not long at all, even though we were a large group. Food portions are nice and large, and the quality and care taken in preparation is evident. Absolutely delicious food, beautiful setting, great service and abience. Highly recommended!

The decor of the restaurant is exquisite. It a great place for a dinner date with a special someone on a beautiful jozi evening. A table outside but downstairs allows you to feel the vibe of being in the busy piazza amongst the diners from other restaurants but a table upstairs on the balcony right in the corner with a beautiful view of jozi is where I would like to be. Not only is the view just wow but the chairs are comfy, chunky and quirky...did I mention the decor was amazing? Dinner was tasty. I recommend the mushroom tart, dragon rolls and the salmon hand roll. The prawns were nice but not something unique to kream. The brownies and blondies satisfied the sweet craving but the ice cream it was served with was not so yum so don't try this. I think I might need to visit the Pretoria branch to compare!
Katherine
What an amazing culinary experience. The menu and specials consisted of some really interesting flavours and combinations. Unfortunately I wasn't overly hungry when we visited so I had a starter and then a salad as a main. Will definitely be back to give some of the mains a try. Service was attentive and the decor was stylish.
Bronwyn Esterhuizen
Beautiful decor, sophisticated setting, attention to detail, and satisfactory service. Kream offers beautifully prepared food that is full of delicately balanced flavour. The waiters, waitresses and management truly care about making your experience memorable and worthwhile. Love the perfume table in the restrooms!!

I took my mom for a special lunch today, and we were not disappointed! <br/>We had Starters of the Sushi and Pork, Mains of Sirloin Steak and Seared Tuna, Desert of Candy Crush and Chocolate & Hazelnut Gateaux. <br/>With impeccable service to top it off. <br/>Such a spoil, will definitely be back!!
Kerishtasiveraj
Delicious food and excellent service I had the Camembert fillet which was served with garlic mash and spinach . For dessert , I had candy crush, a must try. We didn't make a reservation but was fortunate to get a table.
Trinka Mynhardt
Even though we popped in for a quick lunch, I left dying to come back! The service was impeccable and we were offered fresh bread served with biltong butter as we arrived - I would honestly come back even just for this. I then had the deliciously rich oxtail soup followed by the freshest sushi imaginable. I was so impressed with all aspects of this place. From the knowledgable manager and attentive staff to the superb quality food, Kream is all about the excellence. Loved it.
Xolani Cleo Majola
Beautiful service. Best Pork Belly ever. Allround classy. Wolf is the best host I know. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a superb dining experience.
Leon Kemp
Great service, reception, attention and waiter's friendly..... Pity the kitchen couldn't cook a medium rare rump..... Maybe refire will surprize.
Abs
Three way chicken intriguing, and enjoyable overall, however the roulade a little watery. Good scallops, although roe MIA. The duck was also a lovely dish ... Recommended overall, although the waiters were not on top of their game as expected ....
Thobile Shongwe
Honestly not the greatest experience and MOA. The curry was bland with minimal naan bread. Very chatty and rude waiter. The bar area is really a stunner! Great private nooks available for intimate dinners- birthdays. I'll have to think twice about returning to this establishment though.
Tey Carter
Excellent place! <br/>The food, ambiance and service was as perfect! <br/>We were celebrating a friends birthday and it was our first time in the Mall of Africa shop. I've been to the PTA one which was also nice.<br/><br/>I had the oxtail and it was divine! They also had a nice non alcoholic pomegranate royale which I hope other places can replicate for me.<br/>The best was the dessert! It took me back to my childhood when we would visit the trade fair! Cotton candy, the cheese cake was perfect and the bubble gum ice cream! <br/>The service was excellent and they really looked after us very well.<br/><br/>I will be back!
Chad Peter Crouch
Kream was our place of choice to enjoy our first MOA meal. Fantastic first impression with decor on point. My girlfriend and I both went for steak varients with hers being the Escargot and mine being the Camembert.<br/>The plates were stone cold which meant by the time we were half way through the meal, our meal was cold. Simple but effective mistake.<br/>Went for the pear tart for dessert which was dry and definitely reheated. Not impressed.<br/>Overall, a good meal but feel after a few teething changes at a new place these imperfections will be ironed out.
Natalie Lazaris
Kream in Brooklyn has always been a favorite, so of course when this one opened in rushed to check it out. The decor is sophisticated and elegant. The service is excellent, your waited on hand and foot by staff who are passionate and elegant themselves. The food speaks for itself, rich, flavorful and full of texture. More of a steakhouse, there are a lot of other options on the menu, but there meat selection is where it's at. Big portions and beautifully presented this place is perfect for a birthday, a celebration or any other day to be honest. Yummy!!! Kream

Delicious food, presentation and service from Kream at Mall of Africa. The creme brûlée was the star of the evening. Absolutely the best one I've ever had. They're a contemporary dining scene so a bit on the expensive side but seriously worth it.
Prasantha Bisetty
Kream was lovely. Service was excellent and there is a nice ambiance. Some dishes where great and others just okay, technically there was nothing wrong with the meals but I do think that I hyped myself up too much and maybe my expectations might have been too high. We will be back as it was an enjoyable evening.<br/>Favourites for me where the biltong butter and fillet with camembert.
Ian
Nice setup. Great view and environment and indeed service. Food fails to sizzle though, with too much sweet soy sauce covering the taste of my sirloin, which wasn't rare enough for my taste for a medium rare. Pity. Had the potential to be very very good. Shredded oxtail starter was decent but not spectacular. Overall, underwhelming.
Unathi
I've been to the Kreme in Pretoria so I was really looking forward to see if this one matched the standard I'd come to know of. Because the restaurant is fairly new, they are still in the process of training the staff about general etiquette etc. but an effort is definitely being made on everyone's part. I absolutely loved my main which was trout with fried capers and potatoes. So great! I also had the snails which were all right. The palate cleanser was so refreshing. Its quite an expensive restaurant though, so be prepared to fork out more than you would at another similar restaurant. The bill was quite high considering we were too stuffed for dessert. I wouldn't necessarily come here again. They have a great area upstairs where one can get a great view maybe good for sundowners.
Marie
I always get excited when a well-known restaurant expands and having visited the Brooklyn branch frequently, I certainly had to try this one. <br/><br/>I was disappointed to find some of the tiles were already broken hardly a month after opening. Some health and safety factors were also not considered as there was no railing when walking up the stairs. <br/><br/>The decor is spectacular and considered spaces really special. <br/><br/>The service was quite dull and unfriendly. <br/><br/>The pricing is not competitive, but portions decent.
Andrea Herman
Been wanting to try Kream for ages! So yesterday finally went for lunch and it did not disappoint! The interior of the restaurant is magnificent, the staff super helpful and friendly and the food was exquisite! Beautifully presented. Great spot for a date! Make sure to book a table outside on the balcony. Very cosy
James Marsh
I was looking forward to coming here for a while now and made a reservation long time ago and yesterday I finally had the chance to go. The interior inside is Spectacular! Our waitress Holly was excellent, friendly, well trained and very attentive. We were offered a variety if breads with flavoured butters once we sat down. The wine list is great, with good variety and not badly priced. For starters we had biltong soup and beef carpaccio. Both were delicious. For main: I had the the lamb shank which fell off the bone. My girl friend had the camembert fillet which was full of flavour and very soft. The desserts looks great but we were full and had to pass. Will definitely be back.

My husband has been to the Kream in Pretoria and has been wanting to take me and when we heard Kream was opening in Joburg we decided to go. I read some reviews before we went and I can agree with the comments of inexperienced waiters. They are first time waiters with no experience or at least ours was. The food was ok. It was a bit of a let down in comparison to what my husband has experienced at the Kream in Pretoria.
Michella Ferreira Pellegrino
Situated at the new mall of Africa, overlooking Vorna valley, the scenic view accompanied with the light modern finishes on the terrace is perfect to sit, relax and appreciate the great cuisine. <br/><br/>Today was Father's Day, and I took hubby out on a treat. Kream had a set menu, which accommodated for every pallet.<br/>Starters<br/>We opted for the octopus salad, which was fresh in ingredients and flavors. We appreciated the crunch of the thinly cut fried almonds. 9/10<br/><br/>Mains<br/>I opted for the rump, which was served on a bed of mash. The size and flavors were great, but not wow hence my score 7/10<br/>My husband had the chicken trio. The chicken was done differently however the flavor was the same for all three styles, perhaps because they were plated together. I would recommend in order for the flavors not to infuse with each other, to have the different styles and flavones plated separately. With that being said the flavors infused perfectly together if that was the intention. The sauce was slightly on the liquid side 6/10<br/><br/>Desert <br/>The passion fruit cheese cake was decadent, light and perfect in flavors. 9/10<br/>Hubby was set on the chai mouse, which reminded him of a Christmas desert, great none the less. 8/10<br/><br/>We looking forward in going back, as they have amazing private dining sections, which is always a treat when dining with a larger crowd, not to mention try their normal menu which we have always loved, being regular guests at their Pretoria branch.<br/><br/><br/>
Ling
Lovely ambience, could turn down the heater a bit. The beetroot starter is a great appetizer. Before mains the sorbet palette cleanser is a nice touch, but too sweet. The Camembert fillet and roast pork belly would be the choice of mains, done well with the flavours. A place I would come back to again.
Nikib
Excellent service, great decor and the food was top notch. I ordered the oysters which were fresh and a delight, rump steak topped with snails and accompanied by a succulent gratin dauphinois. We ended the meal with the best pavlova I have ever had. I was very impressed with the manager who was on top of things and worked like a maestro! Will definitely return:)
Romeobleck
This place is a solid 3. The price of food and the quality of food do not correlate. I ordered a lamb shank and I must say I have had a better lamb shank for a fraction of the cost. The roasted veggies lacked flavor. However it could have just been a thing for that day, I have been to Kream brooklyn and I had a better outcome. The restaurant is new, so I will likely give them another chance in a few months.<br/><br/>Edit: they really upper their game, had the lamb shank again and it was good. I don't do dessert but the people I was with swears by the crème brûlée... so updated the score to a 4,

Mmmm - for me Kream was hit and miss. Initial impression was very professional with the front of house staff very polite and organized. But then we got seated and had pretty poor service for an upmarket restaurant. We had to request the wine list and waited an inordinate time to get served. Nice touches throughout the meal - breads with flavoured butters and chocolates at the end. The food was OK - two in our party had steaks which they said were pretty good. My son had the chicken trio which was dry and I had the smoked pork belly which was mediocre. I wasn't a fan of the different waiters and servers throughout the meal - made it feel disorganized and chaotic. The decor was good but noted tiles missing which makes it look a bit tatty. Desserts were pleasant but if I went back I'd stick to a simple gelato. Gelato was amazing. Kids loved the colorful candy crush dessert but I found the blondies and brownies a bit stale and the sauce sickly sweet.

Having to pick up a parent staying close to the Mall of Africa we decided to dine close by. Out of about 5 restaurants at the mall worthwhile exploring, Kream was the only name we recognized, and for good reason. With an attentive group of staff and solid wine menu the restaurant offers a fine dining experience at relatively good price. The wine menu was extensive and reasonable and the cuisine was wonderfully prepared. Nothing pretentious although here and there I felt the chef was trying a little hard to impress with too many ideas crammed into a single dish. <br/><br/>My starter was the scallops which was a a good solid starter and always on the menu of a fine dine experience. Main course a snail and sirloin with potato. The snails where a bit flat in taste but the steak good. Over all a good and tasteful experience without the pretense. <br/><br/>There is certainly a movement of good restaurants in JHB all part of of a mall establishment; which pains me, but until we get a walking culture right who am I to judge.

Lovely set -up, interesting menu, meals are pretty ok... Pity they recruited their staff at Spurs and Chesa Niama... Wasted potential I'm afraid
Ravi Govender
Newly opened, looks the part of a high end eatery. Interesting menu with all dishes perfectly done and nicely presented. Wild Mushroom Tarts were a highlight as we're both the duo of game and the pork belly. The deboned sole was nice but the rolling of it ruins what is usually a very succulent fish - style over substance in this case. Point removed for the most uncomfortable couches ever...all that money on a great design and they allow that for diners to sit on? Actually impacted the enjoyment of the great food, not sure the owners actually tried this out before agreeing to it. Still, as long as I sit at another table, will go back

This was really fine dining at its best. After we say down we were given a full description of the day's specials and then we were presented with one of three types of fresh bread, I had the ciabatta which was served with biltong butter, garlic butter and a delicious olive roulade. I ordered the mushroom and biltong soup which was simply delicious, so full of flavour and taste and perfect for a chilli afternoon, really warmed me up! Then I had the salmon and cream sushi which was an explosion in the mouth and also very fresh and of great quality. The service was great, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal Trinka Mynhardt

Been here for my birthday lunch - it's a nice restaurant, however the waiters aren't too attentive to requests. We tried a range of food from the menu, overall the food was on point! So it made up for the lacking service. Nice touch - we were given a voucher to visit again! I will definitely be back for the confit duck, it was indeed delicious. Wine selection is good.

Having been to their first restaurant we were happy to hear a Midrand branch had opened. We went for a Saturday afternoon lunch. The staff are generally friendly and manager made some good recommendations. Steak was lovely and my husband had the pork belly which he said was a little bit smaller than he would have hoped but the taste and quality was magnificent. Dessert was tasty although a little pricey. I can recommend the creme brulee as one of the better ones I have had in restaurants. Overall very flavourful food and good service.

We decided to try Kream out for a Saturday lunch.<br/><br/>The staff are friendly, but only the manager would take our food orders, which didn't really make sense. The manager though, Volkan, was very helpful and accommodating.<br/><br/>Had their salmon fashion sandwiches and hand roll for starters - which were excellent! Really fresh ingredients, rice was perfectly done and balance of flavours were just spot on!<br/><br/>For the main, I had their Bone Marrow Fillet which was absolutely incredible and cooked to perfection! Veggies did not have much flavour, but the steak and marrow were just ridiculous lol. <br/><br/>Food is well worth the price as it's great quality and portions are the ideal size.<br/><br/>If you're reading this, I highly recommend you check them out, and I will definitely be back.

We decided to go to Kream for dinner. I found it a bit strange though that the kitchen closes early on a Sunday with it being situated in a mall. <br/><br/>The staff are good, they know what they talking about. We skipped starters and went straight for mains. I had the smoked pork belly. Presentation could be better. I didn't realize that the whole dish would be smoked, I assumed it would just have a smoky flavour. It tasted more like gammon than pork belly. The peanut butter butternut purée was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the T-bone however the t-bone was out of stock. He then ordered a rump done in the same style as the t-bone which tasted spectacular. Desert we had angel food cake and the candy crush which is a rainbow cheesecake. The rainbow cheese cake was fun. It looks rich but it's just right. It was delicious. Will be back for the rump/t-bone and candy crush desert :)

We picked the restaurant for a special evening as we had been to the Pretoria restaurant which we both thoroughly enjoyed. <br/><br/>We were not left disapointed with either the venue, vibe and the food. The service was great although at times we felt a little rushed until we asked them to slow down....

What a massive disappointment! My Pretoria friends gush about Kream in Brooklyn. If these restaurants are related you have serious reputational risk issues.. Waiters are not trained... Sadly waited 10min for drinks then the wrong drinks arrived. Poor service... Steak was medium not medium rarebwaited too long & was too hungry to send it back. Up your game guys its the small things that matter.. No customer service No clients!! Good luck wont be back will tell everyone to rather visit Brooklyn.

Beautifully designed and decorated space. Lots of waiters and managers on hand to help. Some of the staff is more seasoned than others. Some need a bit more training. <br/><br/>The food was great. We had their starter specials which we beautifully presented and tasted just as amazing. Fore the mains; The lamb chops hit the spot. The pork belly was done just right, elegantly striped of access fat. Overall, a pleasant and satisfying experience.

Decided to try Kream, after hearing good things about the Pretoria branch. Salmon starter was very good, followed by a sirloin, topped with herb snails. The sirloin was tender, but a bit tasteless. Spinach was unbearably salty. My partners fillet was very good. Nice setting.

So I was really excited to go to Kream and I wish I had all good things to say but the overall experience left much to be desired. To start I had Tempura Prawn sushi. Thoroughly enjoyed that and then my main came and oh my word. I really didn't like what I got. I had the Rump Béarnaise, if you aren't a huge butter fan I don't recommend you order this. My friends steak was amazing! Great sauce!

We popped in for a quick bite. It's in a nice spot, overlooking the square and the gardens. We interacted with several servers during our visit and the manager popped by to say hi. Our 'wines by the glass' were served at the table, straight from the bottle - a nice touch. You also get to choose a complimentary slice of bread, brought to the table. Today it was seed load or sourdough, served with two types of flavored butter and tapenade. There is enough variety on the menu but the specials were appealing. I opted for the duck confit salad with hoisin sauce from the specials menu and the other half, the salad with poached pear, crumbled goats and blue cheese and candied walnuts. Both were quite tasty although we asked for more of the caramelised orange dressing for the pear salad. Overall, service was good, even though some servers seem more seasoned than others. The Lindt halves, a bonbon with a white and dark chocolate mixture, that came with the bill were a nice touch. Open for only a few weeks, I think this could soon become a firm favourite on the square.

Visited last night. A little disappointed. ...our food didn't blow me away like it did in the Brooklyn branch. But it was still enjoyable. Friendly waiters, the manager is passionate about the food, decor is nice. We had the oxtail with risotto and sirloin on mash.

The decor at Kream is spectacular. The food was really good but not distinguishable and the service was top notch. Great performance for a restaurant only newly opened.

Having just opened, we wanted to see what the hype was about. Cosy, yet stylish interior, but unfortunately we weren't as lucky to sit in the main dining area, but in a small room in the back. The room still needed to be completed, but besides that, it also seems that the stack doors/slant of the floor were not perfect for the rainy weather and water slowly seeped in whilst dining. The waiters were virtually all still in training but we didn't wait unduly long, however there was some confusion every so often. Starters were most enjoyable all round, although I found the prawn starter to be a bit tough. The soups were highly recommendable! Mains followed and again everyone cleared their plates - the oxtail being celebrated as a triumph! The fillet and bone marrow grill is delicious - perfectly done to taste, and with the accompaniment of caramalised onion and mushrooms, the flavour of what is typically an average tasting cut of beef, is slowly coerced from the beast to marry with sweetness from the onion, creaminess from the mash, richness from delicate bone marrow and finished off with the earthy flavour of mushrooms.<br/>A most enjoyable evening - just ensure you sit inside the main dining area. I would wait a month or two before going back to ensure that all teething problems are addressed the second time round!<br/><br/>A second review is imminent.

We have been to Kream in Pretoria and it is fantastic. This restaurant is brand new and obviously has some teething problems. For starters we had marrow, pretty average. Trinchado which was nice if you like the smoky flavor. Scallops which tasted good but was minuscule . Prawn and chorizo which was delish. Mains were fillets camembert , delish, t bone also delish, lamb chops which were really cold and had to he sent back but tasted good. And a fairly nice cape malay chicken curry. Service was below average. No apology for the cold food. Or the fact they forgot the chips. To top it off the place was flooding .
