Very nice sushi and the spring rolls were a treat. The view is very nice and the service decent. It has abit of a pub vibe around it which I don't dig but the fish and calamari was very lekker. I also saw a guy rev his veey loud bike.

We decided to go for breakfast before I started work one morning.
The view of the ocean from the restaurant is beautiful, I can imagine waking up every morning just to be blessed with that view!
We arrived just after 9:30 am, and were the only customers in the restaurant. Our waitress was very informative, answering all my questions (as I usually have many).
I really enjoy going here, the thing that put me off was the fact that it took 30 minutes to bring a cup of filter coffee (even though we were the only customers there, and being located soo close tp the kitchen).
I ordered a lapa salad (I don't know where I have ever paid R95 for a salad). My salad arrived and I must say, their salads are very VERY generous, especially with the peppadews. I ended up having to take a doggy bag to work just to finish my salad. I had to pick out the croutons, because it was basically pieces of torn white bread deep fried in old oil. I tried one just to see if it's that bad and it was, i was instantly nauseous.
When I was there last time, I had the calamari and salad, and it was very good. I don't know why their food and service was so disappointing this time (especially considering we were the only customers there).
What a delightful treat to have gone to such a beautifully situated restaurant. Looking out onto the ocean with the sun setting all around us. The quirky family white picnic chairs just give it a homely feel. I wanted to try their creamy prawn topped salmon roses and the calamari and prawns combo.
The portion sizes of the salmon roses are huge so it's nice to enjoy a decent size as most sushi is overpriced. Value for quality and quantity. I would say the same for the main very decently sized.
I was a bit disappointed with the prawns they were cold and stuck to their shells (a bit over-cooked) but everything else was nice. The tartar sauce was a homemade style which was lovely with the calamari.
I came here for my birthday lunch and there were about 20 of us. With so many people our waitress was fantastic and kept up with all of our orders with a smile.
What I enjoyed is Seafood Lapa has a variety of food from seafood to pizzas and burgers, so there was something for everyone and the food was really delicious!
Can't wait to come back :)
Always a nice place to come for a quick seafood meal or a drink after a hard days work. The staff is helpful and nice. The food tastes good. The only thing I would say is a downer is that it's not the cleanest place in town. But other than that the prices are good.
A quick drink turned into a whole day at Seafood lapa...Fabulous food..fabulous service..wind was a little nasty....but really awesome. Thanks Mercy..we'll be back again..
Being in a festive spirit after a magical holiday we wanted to end it off on a high!
So on our way back south I googled restaurants for a celebratory meal.
A picture of a seafood pizza, and let it be known I DO NOT like or ever order pizza, caught my eye but the review was very negative.
As a 'guide' I wanted to go and see for myself!
My take....WOW and WOW!!
The very best is an understatement.
The seafood was fresh and this pizza had a crispy thin base!
My favourite dish at the moment.
We will certainly be back!
We have visited Seafood Lapa for a few years now and we always get what we expect. Good quality food, lovely views. Good wine selection. The only thing I would recommend is a enclosure around the pizza oven where the clients walk by. Other than that, no issues.
Had sushi here only. But saw they had 2 for 1 special at the time for draughts @ R40 which is a pretty good score! Advice on the sushi: avoid any sushi items that contain the cream cheese, it tastes too pungent, like a blue cheese cream cheese of sorts - not very nice. The amount of mayo on the salmon roses is also a bit much but overall, very quick and friendly service. Kitchen closes at 9pm and the bar closes at 2am. They also have heaters and a fireplace for winter months.
I do not lightly rate a restaurant as a 5-star but this one deserves it! On a quiet weekday we drove past to another seafood restaurant further down the same road. We did not like the 'look' of it a decided to try Seafood Lapa which was the second on the list of suggestions from a local. Well, what can I say, excellent service and even better food and also very well priced (wine selction pricing also very reasonable). I only wish we stayed closer as this would most certainly have become a regular hangout spot, well done guys!

We had a sushi platter - Sushi was fresh, well prepared and delicious, the price was also very reasonable at around R90 if I remember correctly
We then shared the hake, calamari and chips combo. The calamari, perfect, the fish, fresh and flakey (could use a little seasoning on the batter) other than that delicious.
Slightly on the expensive side, but with open walls and unobstructed views to the Melkbos seafront I'd say it's worth it.

Lovely view with good quality food. The dishes were fresh and tasty. We had excellent service. It was a pleasant experience and allowed us to have a wonderful afternoon.
Great location, views, food, service. Fresh produce, finger lickin' good! Open air lapa as an option, perfect for smokers, indoor booth in alcove for the non-smoker, for privacy, onlooking the pizza oven where homemade delicious pizzas are made. Clean and neat. Seems to have an upstairs area, not sure if accessible to clientele or just staff. Dog friendly lapa on the corner of 6th Ave and Beach Road Melkbosstrand. The first restaurant on the corner on the left hand side as you drive down toward the seaside.
Great specials on drinks, and sushi is delicious and fresh! Had absolutely WONDEFUL service from Petronella! She totally made our day
I went to Seafood Lapa for lunch today. It was my first time there and I'll definitely be going back. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful and the seared tuna was delicious and very good value for money.
Best fresh sushi in town. It comes beautifully prepared and doesn't take long to reach your table. You also dont pay extra if you want more ginger or wasabi. Sushi is well priced. We ate our fill on a 36 piece lapa platter. It was yum.
My go to choice for seafood in the area. They make the best seafood platters and have other great choices such as burgers, pizza and fresh sushi. The location is great, opposite the sea with great views.

Just where you want to go for that perfect cocktail after work and watch the ocean or grab a tasty seafood dish (sooo fresh) and relax! A must visit when you are on the West Coast for some real local beach Vibes at its best.
We ordered the Chef's Special, the Salmon crunch roll and Prawn Crunch, absolutely scrumptious!! Beautifully made and very filling. The vibe is casual and popular with locals, if your looking for a dining experience that's relaxed, this is the place to go. The service was quick, had some noisy neighbors watching rugby but thats typically SA. Don't be put off by the appearance, it's not upmarket, but the food is great and reasonably priced. Had Pizza here before and it was yummy!! Definitely worth the visit.

What can i say, it's very much a local hangout. The foods okay, however you can not beat the view, nor can you overlook the cozy fireplace. Overall was a nice experience
