Went to the Watergate after a long and hot day in the park. Service from a very polite waitress was great! We didn't wait too long for food, maybe about 25 minutes. All meals were delicious however I felt they were a bit overpriced. But overall a great experience!
We enjoyed the grilled hake and salad enormously. Our table looked out over The Crocodile River where we could enjoy the antics of the various animals. Will definitely return. There is also a swimming pool where the children can swim while adults enjoy a drink on the deck.
Quite a rustic restaraunt, and as a result of there being no electricity, the food did take a little longer than expected, however, we were happy and replenished when the food arrived. Good portions and good value for money.
The Watergat Regards has a bar area as well as a pool.
The food is good.
The service is quite good.
The toilets are quite clean but not amazing.
The ambiance is not what it used to be.
Die Watergat closed in October 2019 was the end of that business the name no longer exists, new owners took over, New place is called Bos and is excellent, do go. A full facelift, professional people now run the new business. We went opening night, soo nice and clean, staff have hi class uniforms, great service, good prices, been a long time coming, so happy this change took place.
Theres a great improvement with the new ownership. Food and service good. Please invest in a descent coffee machine, the coffee you serve is terrible and too strong..
While we were waiting for our food my husband Chris decided to check a corner where people can sit and read. He found a book written by Jeffrey Archer. He asked the manager if he could buy this book as this writer is of interest. She called the owner of the Restuarant and she donated the book to him. We would like to thank "Die watergat Restuarant" for there service and friendliness and nice food.
Great prices for the area. Thatch boma & deck outside, smoking allowed in the bar and there is a stunning pool with a very very small "entrance" fee
Food was excellent. Have a pool table and prices are reasonable. A very enjoyable experience was had.
