We came out on Saturday to go for a hike followed by a nice lunch and some cheese and wine tasting. The whole experience was wonderful, the hike is well marked with beautiful scenery and the restaurant was so vibey (great service and great food). Every person I spoke to was so welcoming and friendly, you have such kind and helpful staff. I did notice a lot of dogs were walking around the premises - I would have loved to bring my dogs with on the hike but didn't because the website says it's not allowed? Is there a way to request permission to bring our doggies?
Absoluut pleasure visiting each time, my favorite is the liver patei on the cheese platter!! Will eat this on its own!! Luckily the friendly staff and owner sells it separately so I can take some home.
Wonderful Place. The food and drinks were exceptional, above board. Atmosphere was spectacular! Service fast and accurate. Picture perfect scenery. Had the most wonderful ideas about future events involving Terrace @ Van Gaalen. Think this place can be very grand for a small intimate wedding!
One of the best pizza and salad I have ever had. The atmosphere is perfect. The staff is friendly and efficient. 10/10

If you want to taste heaven then order some of their cheesecake. You will definitely not regret it. In all honesty it was the best cheesecake I have tasted in my entire life and I will definitely be back for some more. We were assisted by Chris and he was attentive, entertaining and knowledgeable. The staff are so friendly and the views are great too.
Really beautiful place food is good service is amazing, I think the only thing I'd change is perhaps the music, normally we try to escape the idea of the city and some people listing to the same songs every artist plays at every other place, its like a radio on repeat.
Perhaps look at something new, perhaps a bit culturally wise, netherland bands perhaps. After all, we never see these bands perform any where it would be nice to embrace something close to the theme of the farm itself and history. The whole purpose is to be different from others. But otherwise the place is gorgeous the hiking trails are amazing!
An amazing experience, from the cheese tour, the awesome food at the restaurant, the friendly staff, the stunning view. The appelkoek is to die for. Can't wait to go back for a hike.
What lovely walks for people of various fitness levels and the paths midst the trees and reeds ensure comfortable walking experiences in spite of the heat. The variety of fungi after the rain reminded if a fairy world. Spider 🕷 lovers will not be disappointed and for those who dislike the eight legged critters, rest assured, they are more interested in staying in their webs than disturbing you. The restaurant provided tasty food at a reasonable cost. Next time, we will order a picnic 🧺.

Very nice place to unwind outside of town but still nearby. Had a good time there with family and they serve good food. We didn't have enough time to do wine tasting and picnic. Nonetheless we had fun and next time will make it early to get to do more.

Wonderful place for the family! Great food, and interesting glimpse of the cheese making process (next time we will need to take the tour). We enjoyed being able to buy cheese and stroopwafels to bring home! The kids loved watching the bunnies, sheep, birds, guinea pigs, and dogs. The trails and picnic areas look worth exploring next time too!
Today we did the 21k up the mountain, was a little busy with a trail run race, but was well managed and everyone was polite and friendly.
The trail was pretty well marked although confusing at times we found our way.
Beautiful setting and a stunning trail. the restaurant at the end is amazing, our waiter, Nicholas, managed to convince us to get a slice of cheese cake. This cheesecake, was without doubt the best cheesecake i have ever had.
10 out of 10. will definitely be back.

Wonderful outing for adults/families/hiking buffs. Cheese making and tasting on site as well as a tour can be arranged. A small selection of trinkets and wares available alongside various cheeses and wines. Beautiful picnic areas and a open air restuarant seating as well as indoor tables to be served. Nice outing
Beautiful place with a very friendly staff. Came to hike:...enjoyed the trail as flat as it is but it's challenging. Did 18km, we took the 10km Yellow trail; halfway we took the 7km Blue trail to the blue church and from the church took 6km Blue-Green-Yellow trail back to Van Gaalen (VD).
Had a quick cuppacino on the terrace under beautiful old trees which was good.

Shop available where you can buy some of their Gouda, made on site.
Nice place where you can buy and taste some cheeses from Netherlands. Cheeses are done in the farm, and you can see them do it. Quite and peacefully space to eat or just take a coffee. You can get in touch with the farm animals, and seems that exist bike trails to be done.
Currently one of my favorite places to go cycle and spend time with the family! They offer a great variety of tracks/courses for cycling and a lovely place to have a good meal afterwards. Also noticed some lovely picnic areas but have not sat down to give those a full use though. Will update if anything changes!
