Review Greensleeves - Krugersdorp

Unique experience, filled with amazing entertainment that had us laughing and stomping. Drinks were incredibly expensive. But overall we loved it - from being dressed up, to being ordered to do things by the Barron, to the raunchy humour.

We attended the Medieval fare. The atmosphere rating was based on the day which was epic. Felt like we traveled back in time. We did not eat food there but we did have some ale and mead from the vendors.

Love this venue. We visited for the Medieval fayre, and it was an absolute blast. The setup was great. We didn't eat anything, unfortunately, so I can not comment on that, but I do want to go back and try their food.

Absolutely fun theatrical entertainment. Loved every moment. Lots of banging and laughter. The entire event was magnificent. My 2nd time here and it was just as amazing as the first time a few years ago.

The atmosphere is incredible and really worth the trip. The food wasn't bad either but I think it could've handled a little more love... Beef was amazing but the chicken was a tad dry, but the divine soup and vegetables made up for it!

What a fantastic experience, the service from all the staff was amazing. Food was delicious, the show was epic and atmosphere made it fun and you participate the whole night. We even had a problem because of the shuttle we hired for the day didn't show. The staff of Greensleeves assisted and helped us get home. A huge thanks to the manager of Greensleeves. Will see you soon!!

This is where you want to be for an outdoor wedding. The staff are very friendly and will plan the perfect wedding. The restaurant has amazing pizzas and warm atmosphere. Hope to see you in 2024

This is a wonderful place an absolute gem amd must see in and around Johannesburg. Costume fitment opens at 5 but people queue beforehand. It is worth it to get here early to get first pick but there are hundreds of costumes to choose from. Drinks are expensive but the entertainment is amazing.

It has changed since the last time I was there, old traditions have gone, no bowing to the night above the entrance door, no more of "may I point percy ant the porcelain pot. But it was still a lot of fun, thank you.

I first visited this place in 1981, and till today I remember the whole experience fondly! It was a night to remember forever!. I told my kids about it when they were small, and now can share the photos with them. Wish we had a similar venue in Cape Town..the only thing I noticed was that there is better silver- and table ware. We ate of wooden boards, with our hands...none of the silver modern stuff then..it's as if one gets "transported" back in time...even had to ask permission to use the restrooms.."point Alice at the chalice..." is just one of them.

It was a wonderful experience. The costumes we could dress up in, the food was delicious, I drank more than my share of the mead. We loved the Baron's stories and the minstrel's music. Our group had such a good time. Recommend this experience to anyone!

Had the most amazing experience ! The Baron kept us entertained and the food was excellent. A special thank you to Lebo making the evening even more memorable. I would definitely recommend this and will be back again.

Went for Sunday lunch. Delicious, freshly-prepared burger and to-die-for chips! Fun, lively ambiance with the live band. Attentive, friendly waitress - Carley - and wonderful, friendly service from Chef and co-owner Andrew and the enthusiastic, on-the-ball event-coordinator Lauren. Thank you for a lovely afternoon. So looking forward to seeing you again at one of the Feasts! :D

My girlfriend and I went for a Sunday afternoon lunch. I had the two craft lagers which were cold and refreshing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is chilled, with people having a picnic on the grass and a cute Jack Russell running around followed by a well behaved German Sheppard. The pork belly meal was well presented with a mouth watering taste to match. R150 per plate might be slightly high, but no regrets. #greensleeves

Service was very average - under staffed - probably to save costs - and generally pretty average - the “show” and entertainment wasnothing to right home about <br/>

This is one the worst places I've been to. Booked a big group here and it was terrible. I can't remember when last I ate such poor quality food.....all of it!! They charge a lot for nothing really. The entertainment is boring ,repetitive and predictable. It's time they revised their program as it's old and drab. Rather try it put first before spending a lot of money on a VERY disappointing experience.

I will never forget the time I had here. Just wow. The food, the music, the dancing and the comedy. 5 stars well deserved Carol Dippenaar Anton Dippenaar

We came here for 21st celebrations last night (Saturday) and the birthday boys were surprised, not having heard of this place before. We had pre-booked and paid a deposit. 99% of guests opted to dress up - I think it's essential and adds to the ambience and there are plenty of costumes to choose from, for a fee, of course. When you arrive at the function hall, you're greeted by 'lackeys and wenches' who take you to your pre-allocated table. You're served honey mead and focaccia with humus and chicken liver paté on the side. The programme starts at 8 sharp and runs for a good three and a half hours with entertainment, song, and audience participation skits spread out between courses, steered by the no-nonsense 'Baron'. We had soup and bread rolls, roast beef, chicken and vegetables, and apple crumble with ice cream. The food was good and if you're not full yet, they'll bring more! The birthday boys were made to feel really special. At the end of the night, guests are invited to hit the adjoining dance floor. The setup seems to be quite safe with plenty of security about in the car park. Sorry, I didn't take any pics of the food 🙄.

We went to Greensleeves for the first time in ten years. It is still the same great experience the food is good the performance great, costume hire is a must!<br/>Thank you for a great evening!

Where magic lives . This dinner and a show establishment never fails to entertain. You have to dress up ( in period costume) for the occasion as this is half the fun. Let your inner lord and lady free!

We stopped here for a beer and decided to have some onion rings as a snack as we actually already ate. I was freaked out by the idea of this place, husband insisted we stop. Husband was right. Such an awesome place (you don't have to dress up) with a really different vibe. The food menu looked amazing and the onion rings was by far the yummiest onion rings I have had. Beer menu is diverse and the service was great! Will definitely come here for a full lunch one Sunday!

We were here a while ago, but it was such a fun experience that i thought i needed to share it. We also love a little bit of dinner theater, or dinner with something extra and Greensleeves didn't disappoint. Its really great that you can do your consume hire right there so you don't need to worry about finding something before hand, but come early to get to really great outfits. The setting is perfect to take you back in time and you really do feel like you are in a medieval kingdom having a meal in the big hall! The food is big, tasty and plentiful, and you really get to dig in, in the most literal way! Its definitely a place that you should go at least once in your lifetime. great for a party or special occasion.

Found these photos taken in 2009 so I decided to share with you, we had to get there quiet early to choose our uniform for the night can't remember the exact time maybe 5:30pm, you better have enough patience to go thru the night because there is so much games to play before they serve meals, we only had our starters at 8:30pm and main at 9:00pm. One platter for five of us is honestly not enough.... when the food arrives your table don't expect it to be hot, but it a place to go once in your life time. Apologies for the unclear photos since resolution at that time aren't as good as today.

Absolutely brilliant, loved the atmosphere and the show. Service was great considering the amount of people. The food was simple yet tasty and the beer selection covered craft and local. A must for large groups.

It was an enjoyable evening, entertainment was great and fun and the atmosphere was fun. The entire night was enjoyable with the beautiful grounds and the costumes. I would rate them higher but one of the staff at the costume hire was outright rude to us because we had arrived early even though we were willing to wait. The owner of the shop was friendly and helpful which made up for how we were treated earlier but it was still surprising how we were spoken to.

What a lovely place! Staff are very friendly and helpful, the show was entertaining and fun, food was delicious. Very cool place to dress up, have some fun and let your down. Definitely recommend.

This was a year-end function choice for me, and I really found it to be an experience that didn't disappoint anyone! From the very beginning, on arrival the buildings, decor and 'Merlin's Costume Hire' with the dress-up options excited everyone and transported us into another place and time! The entertainment was "bawdy" and fun, and the 'Baron' and his Troubadours encouraged/coerced all of us all into singing and participating with our wooden sticks which really was great! I loved their themed touches everywhere and their incredible attention to detail inside when it came to making us feel Medieval! <br/><br/>Now for the food: The food was served in hearty and generous portions, and I could almost imagine myself in the medieval times from their 'Goblet of Mead' - Chick Pea Pâté and Flat breads - Broth of venison, Beef, root vegetables and fresh herbs, served with home baked bread - "Four and Twenty" Chyken and Potherb Pye - Spit roasted Chyken, and roasted aged Beef, served with earthapples, potherbs and gravy.. everything fit! The dessert for me was especially good: Dutch Malva pudding and “Icy Syllabub”! I loved the gardens and special touches everywhere you looked. <br/><br/>*Recommendation: I would recommend this place if you love a good dress-up and although I found it to be expensive, there really isn't anywhere quite like Greensleaves if you are looking for something different!

This place, for me, was like one of Dante's circles of hell. Dressing up I can still do, but weak entertainment, tasteless humour, and even more tasteless food I cannot. The service is not great either. I would definitely not return, or recommend this to anyone, except as a form of torture. <br/>
