The restaurant is spacious. Our table was next to a raging fireplace which just made our lunch together more special. The specials board had a huge selection, something for everyone and the menu too, had a variety of dishes. We chose the Thai Chcken curry..... delicious. I ended my meal with creme brulee. Not the best I've eaten but certainly was a good ending to a scrumptious meal. Our waitron was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.
If you're looking for a place with great views, good service, and most importantly deliciously fresh food (particularly referring to their cakes and pizza), Bluewater Cafè is most certainly the place to go to.
We decided to head to Imoff one Sunday because Kalk Bay was just too busy! I thought we'd grab something from the farmstall and go sit on the beach, but we decided to have a coffee at blue water first.
We ordered 2 lattes-which I must say were not great ( They tasted a little burnt), but I was really hungry and the menu sounded good, so we decided to stay and eat.
We ordered the 'ALL DAY BREAKFAST TARTINE'-An open toasted ciabatta with 2 fried eggs, farm bacon, grilled mushrooms, tomato, beef sausage and rocket with a green herb dressing...
It was absolutely delicious, one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time.
Everything was cooked to perfection and the green herb dressing was so light and delicious it cut through the richness of the breakfast perfectly.
Service was slow, and pretty average, but the setting is very nice so I didn't bother us too much. the place is completely sheltered from the wind and 100% child friendly (not that I have any of those, but if I did- I'd definitely want to take them there).
There are also lots of other things to do at Imoff, so even if you are coming from a little further away, I'm sure you will find things to keep you entertained: there is a little petting zoo, a snake park, an amazing farm stall, a cheesery, horse rides, camel rides, paint balling, a chocolatier, wine tasting and some really nice little shops.
We had a lovely meal here, the food was smashing the service was great. Our waiter was polite, friendly and could answer any a questions about the items on the menu. Warm and cozy on a winters evening. Would recommend. Love the art work on the walls.
This picturesque cafe is such a great spot to take the family! Their menu is simple and has something for everyone. My friend and I shared the West Coast mussels and a Margarita Pizza. The mussels come in a white wine sauce and are absolutely delicious. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pizza as they use mascarpone which I find too sweet.
They also have a petting zoo and a playground for the kids. Kommetjie is a bit of a drive but the Blue Water Cafe makes for the perfect midday getaway!
Stopped by Blue Water Cafe for breakfast following the Milkwood run, this past Sunday. We had the farmer's breakfast, flap jacks and french toast. Delicious, but a bit pricey. There isn't a lot of options in the area, so no choice in the matter. The service was friendly, even though we had to wait a while for our menus after taking a seat outside. The views are gorgeous and the ambience relaxed - a lot of families with kids.
This place is beautiful! Lovely lunch with amazing scenery topped off with a camel ride 😏👍🏻 first time for everything! Definitely worth the drive to Kommetjie.
Lovely place to take the whole family. Food is outstanding, service is good and empowered, great jungle gym for kids and nice views for the parents. I had delicious prawns and divine flourless chocolate cake..
What a lovely place to take your family and friends. We went on a school outing. While the children went on a tour the adults went for some breakfast. And what a meal it was. Food was awesome. They are not shy on their portions. Price is reasonable. Totally loved it. Will definitely go back there.
Devine food and great play area for the kids.
Service was average, but a good day out none the less. There is a petting zoo next to the restaurant so good place to keep kids busy.
Amazing decor and outside area. Best for families with children. Their pizza is greatest, worth the wait, service is a little slow, but there was a rather a lot of people at day.
We went on a Sunday, with a 2 year old. This is in a beautiful setting overlooking the noordhoek valley and beach. A really beautiful location, great for kids- With a jungle gym and petting zoo. The meal was perfect. We had the calamari, several pizzas the lasagne and a vegetarian pasta among us. All portions were large and really tasty. Somehow we were hungry enough for dessert as well - malva pudding was LARGE. The cheesecake was dense and not too sweet, only comment was the creme brulee, was not great- almost a solid pot of cream.
On the whole though, service was attentive and definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a family friendly spot.
This place got one of the best salads I have ever tasted (health salad). They also have on tap some delicious local beers. The service is fantastic and it is a great place for kids to play in the lawn and visit their zoo (pricey 30 rand per person). They must have one of the best views around.
I often used to go to blue water when I was in Cape Town it's really good it's one of my favorites. My only complaint is that the pizza bases are to thin. But other than that it's really good.
Location is fantastic and the food is tasty but it takes a while to come out so be prepared to relax and enjoy the view Service is functional.
The outside dining area has a great view of the Vlei. Service can be a little slow at times, but the place has some of the best pizza in town. Memorable deserts as well, the cheese cake is top notch.
Beautiful location. So much to entertain the kids. Service a little slow but quality of food and entertainment so good we barely noticed. Great meal
I've never had a bad meal from here and the wait staff are really friendly. There are peacocks walking amongst the playing kids and a full view of my favourite mountain, Chapman's Peak. It's a beautiful place to unwind.
This is truly a gem at Imhoff farm, especially on a nice Sunday afternoon. The views of the noordhoek valley are great and all the animals nearby create a farmlike atmosphere. More important, the menu has something for everyone, the pizzas are great and not too badly priced and the rest of the menu is also interesting. I have been here a few times and have never been dissapointed so will definitely return again and again.
Lovely find @Imhoff farm in Kommetjie. Superb views, kids playing in the gardens , attentive waiters, tempting & interesting menu which lives up to any expectation. Enjoyed a quiet lunch with hubby & will be back soon.
We often go for breakfast, they serve delicious smashed Avo on toast!
It’s a really beautiful setting, you can wander around the rest of Imhoff farm!
Lovely service!
A tip get there early! Lunch can be a nightmare! With kids!
Beautiful place for lunch or dinner. We had ribs and linefish which were good. The chips and vegetable tempura were OK. Good selection of local beers. Service was good but took a while to get the bill. Would recommend.
This is one my favourite restaurants in Cape Town & definitely worth visiting if you are in the area.
Great food, great service & friendly staff with an amazing view.
Perfect for light or full meals, as well as, a cup of coffee & cake, or an ice cold glass of wine or beer.
Their breakfasts are excellent. They make delicious pizza (some of the best in Cape Town in my opinion) and their open and closed sandwiches are awesome. They also have some other signature dishes like rins or beef fillet that are worth trying.
The place has an interesting play area for kids, so it is family friendly, however not overwhelming for those without kids.
They have a dedicated tab room (Lakeside Brewery) for those who enjoy craft beer.
The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they do not take bookings on weekends.
It's always such a delight introducing my guests to such a "local is lekker" experience! Awesome tasty cuisine, great service and hospitality, with views to match! Thanks to the entire team for another "gazillionth" experience!
The Blue Water Café is definitely the place to visit if you are looking for some proper pizza and you are close to Imhoff Farm. Although their menu has various options available, our entire group decided to try some of their pizzas which were very tasty and filled with toppings. What I really liked was that they partnered with the Lakeside Brewing Co (reviewed separately) next door, so we were able to order some of their tasty craft beers to enjoy with our pizzas. As we were visiting during the peak December holiday period, Imhoff Farm (and by extension Blue Water Café) was very busy and there was quite a waiting time to get a table. The waiting time was however for a table outside with a view, but we were so hungry we didn't mind sitting inside and instantly got a table. The inside area wasn't cramped and there was beautiful artwork on the walls that inspired conversations so in the end it wasn't a bad option at all!
This place never disappoints. I've been coming to this place for years and have always had an awesome experience. Whatever they are doing works like a bomb. Nothing pretentious, just good food with the most competitive prices...this is real value for money. I literally visited this place twice in one week, it's that good. So much for the kids to do too, you can literally spend the whole day here and I have done so before, breakfast, lunch and supper. By far my fave place in Cape Town. Oh, and the cake...yummy!!!

We had a really great time at this restaurant and were positively surprised by the quality of the food and the fabulous play area for the kids. We've been to Imhoff Farm a few times before, but never ate at the Blue Water Cafe before. So the kids were quite excited when they saw the amazing jungle gym with a huge slide, a wooden climbing structure, swings and a big green lawn to run around and play hide and seek. We were able to sit down and enjoy the wonderful ocean and mountain views from the garden. The highlight was the food though. We ordered salad, burger and pizza and all of it was beyond delicious. My husband said we need to go back a second time so that he can try the other pizza flavours :)
Great atmosphere, good service, and delicious food! I had a pizza and it was amazing! Finished the whole pizza which I don't usually manage to do, but the pizzas are so great!
Lovely outdoor setting especially for families with young children. Good pizza. friendly service. Weekends are busy and on warm days the outdoor seating fills up quickly. They don't take reservations so first come first serve. Lovely views of the ocean in the distance
Location - top! Service - top! Food - top!
Great atmosphere and possibility to sit outside enjoying the weather and view to the mountains and sea. The highlight however is the food, it does not matter if stone oven pizza, burger or desserts - anything excellent!
The staff are so friendly and followed the Covid19 protocols. Beautiful Cafe with an great offering of breakfast and lunch. The burgers are DEVINE!!! I would highly recommend it. So far it's the best burger I've had. Great spot to stretch your legs, grab a bite to eat and have a look at some animals
Great variety and good tasting food. A real pizza oven and the best tree house/swing for the little ones to play on. Most enjoyable for the whole family.
Have enjoyed a number of meals since 2008 here. Food has always been great service not so much until today. Had great service with a great meal. Ps the view from outside is always worth the drive
I was very happy with my dish! Beautifully plated and tasted amazing. Fresh kingklip in lemon butter on a bed of cubed potatoes. Surroundings are perfect for kids especially if you're seated outside. Lemon meringue was absolutely 💯, had a nice zingy taste of fresh lemons and meringue topping had a slight crunch with soft centre, just perfect, thanks. Service was good, glasses, dishes, cutlery properly clean (I'm very observant and picky about this).
Sit on the little stoep and enjoy the spectacular view across the valley towards Chapman’s Peak/Noordhoek. Watch the riders trot by on an horse back ride through the vineyards and the kids play on the lawn and jungle gyms.
If you haven’t been here yet, you should really make a plan to get here.
Amazing views. Great food. Everything looks so fresh and green. Loved the menu and flavours. Attracts a really good crowd.
