We heard from friends about this restaurant but I went online to check out the photos of the place and it didn't look promising but I'm so thankful we tried it anyway! Wow!!! It exceeded all expectations! Food was amazing and so was the service. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.
This Mozambique restaurant was highly recommended by a South African friend and it certainly lived up to its reputation. Super fresh seafood dishes, great atmosphere and friendly service. The servings were huge. The seafood rice is to die for. Drinks were good too. Great value for money and highly recommend if visiting Kruger/the area.

Their food is amazing and plenty.
We drive from White River just to come eat here. I cannot begin to express how their food is. You just need to go and try it for yourself. We always receive such a warm and friendly welcome. It has become home. Plus their portions are very generous.

What a lovely meal we had here. We had the queen prawns with chicken and the queen prawns with calamari and it was just so yummy. The service was lovely too, with our waitress bringing bibs and finger bowls just to add to the whole eat with your hands experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, will be back on our next trip to Kruger!
We always come to eat at Tambarina when we come to the Kruger, and it never disappoints. The prawn curry is always good, we also had the calamari, sole and chicken schnitzel last time which was a large portion. They were all good! 👌🏻
South Africa, has great taste! Very natural setting which I loved, the service was great the owner was friendly and came by the table to check on us twice, we had 6 in our party and sat at a long tree table with plenty of room! Food was good too!

What a treat. Authentic Mozambican food with friendly service and delightful ambiance. This is a spit and sawdust restaurant absolutely without pretence, which makes all the difference. The food is fresh, well prepared and served with flare. It also has a great drinks list with authentic Portuguese and Mozambican options. As far as I am concerned you will struggle to find anything better in the neighbourhood…
Second time we have been to Tambarina Restaurant in Komatipoort and we’re were definitely not disappointed. We invited and met friends for dinner. As expected we all enjoyed the evening, food, service and atmosphere - excellent. Thank you, we will always be back when in this area in SA.

We had lunch with German friends who recommended Tambarina Restaurant. The service from Sibongile was fantastic and the owner, Hannes, checked on our table frequently. The food was delicious and the afternoon was very enjoyable.
The food is absolutely divine! I love the rustic setup and the friendly service. Highly recommend.
