We had tried the beer at quite a few restaurants around Knysna and had to go and visit the brewery. Such friendly owners, they explain all the beers and are very helpful. You can get a tasting platter of beers and gin and can buy 500ml cans from their shop. The beer is delicious and there is a variety for every palate. You can also get a great lunch and white washed cafe which is on the same premises.

Our favorite beer in South Africa was here. Coming from the US, we were excited to try some pale ales instead of a typical lager. We got a chance to meet the owner and his wife who were super friendly. We also did their gin tasting which was unique. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and recommend to anyone who likes craft beer.

I like how the place is hidden behind a cafe, Whited Washed, like you have to provide a secret password to enter a speakeasy. Added bonus was having the brewmaster serve us; when he didn't like the look of the tasting tray he immediately replaced it with fresh product. Nice selection of beers, you can taste that care was taken with each batch. Added bonus, you can have you tasting at White Washed who in return have a tantalizing menu of options written allover the walls.

Friendly and helpful staff is always such a welcome experience. The guys at red bridge are always willing to chat to you about brewing and what they find interesting. The beer is also excellent and if you have the time a must visit in Knysna. They have switched to cans these days, although I'm still old school and prefer glass, they beer is still top notch.. keep it up guys.. 10 out of 10

Friendly service, good vibes and great beer! Had the tasting plate, and truly enjoyed all 5 variaties. The Golden Ale is a must, with the Olde Fort a close second.

Tucked away in the industrial area of Knysna, you walk through a restaurant called White Washed and when you come out at the other end you'll find the Red Bridge brewery. You can taste all 3 of the beers available for purchase, which are a Saison Ale, Golden Ale and an IPA (India Pale Ale). My favorite was the IPA and I also bought some to take home with me. Although their beers are only available in bottles, they do have gins and ciders available on tap. They also host live music shows.

It is great to have truly hand-made beer in Knysna. The No. 17 Golden Ale is still my favourite, although the IPA with a good piece of meat off the braai..... Yes please!
