Stopped in for some lunch. Very good chicken wrap 🌯 one of the best wraps 🌯 I had . Coffee ☕ also very nice and strong. The staff were all friendly. Would definitely come back 🔙 as we are locals .

This was one of the most fun lunch experiences in Knysna. The decor and how everything is incorporated is just amazing. Food is also very delicious and the staff were very lovely.

Excellent food in a magical environment! The restaurant is set inside the old turbine room, with numerous tables placed in between the turbines and available on different floors. Very clean and neat. The staff is amazing (friendly and efficient) and the food is out of this world. Thorough enjoyed our dinners and late night coffees there. Would definitely recommend this place and will go there again without any hesitation! Go on, treat yourself...

The best place for breakfast. Service is quick and friendly. Plenty of seating area. You are in and out quick to enjoy rest of day. The meals are not overly huge, just right.

A cafe in the Turbine Hotel on Tvesen Island. Hotel build around an old turbine. Chic decor incorporating the original turbine machinery. Fantastic customer service in this boutique hotel.

Excellent experience. Food was first class, while surrounding was styleful and different from the run-of-the-mill. Would love to go there again.

Relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy coffee/tea/drinks and a bite to eat.

Had a lovely dinner here and really convenient if you stay at the hotel.

We arrived a bit late, slightly dishevelled but were greeted by the friendliest evening manager who provided us with a glass of port and brandy before showing us to our room. Along the way to our room he noted we were on honeymoon and he pulled out all the stops. The hotel is an old power station with various parts of its past on show and integrated as features where possible. Bedroom was a good size with a bathroom as impressive(double sinks, shower cubicle and separate bath). Private balcony overlooking the pool and Thesen Island private homes and harbours. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very kind and attentive. We ate in local restaurants all of which were excellent too. I'd definitely return, great value for money too. PS. thanks for sending on my shirt to my next hotel.

Stayed a night at this stunning hotel last week and cannot fault it. Awesome concept of building the hotel around the turbines of a disused power station; the industrial heritage of the building was nicely reflected in many different ways right down to the metal napkin holders. The room was great and it was so nice to relax in a large, fluffy, white bathrobe! Dinner was excellent - great quality and good portions, and very reasonably priced ...a nice surprise considering it's a 5-star hotel. All in all, an awesome place to stay in Knysna.

An unusual but splendid hotel which I would recommend anyone to visit. I had a full choir sing happy birthday at breakfast which really made my day. Very special place and location.

I just loved this hotel. They take customer excellence to another level. . The staff are exceptional and are excited when they see that they have exceeded your expectations yet again. The food was well prepared and cooked to perfection. Please congratulate your chef on his excellent food. The attention to detail with the decor was above normal standard. It is really nice to be in a luxury environment and still feel like being spoilt at home. Thanks to Chris Schutte, the GM, who obviously leads by example. Well done to you in running a well organised facility. You definitely can be proud of your staff. Thanks to Vuvu and Cindy . . I will remember the two of you for making me feel really special with your loving and positive attitudes. When we were really tired, Cindy was there for us and even offered to sort out our WiFi connection for us. . I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. . They will care for you and deserve 5 stars.

Apart from the friendly staff and the beautiful decorations around the groundbreaking incorporation of the power station into the Hotel. Not to mention the restaurant and the delicious food I was served sitting next to the swimming pool overlooking the Lagoon. I wouldn't mind to visit the Turbine Hotel & Spa anytime. I just loved it.

After being on the road for two weeks on the back oh a motorcycle to stop and have such luxury and flawless service was just what we needed. Thoroughly enjoyed my time of being pampered at the spa and wish to congratulate the staff and management! Certainly worth travelling from Australia to experience! ❤️🙏

With its unique design and decor and stunning setting, the Turbine has become an iconic Knysna hotel. Great service from an inspired team adds to the experience. Highly recommended.

Booked for breakfast for 8 people with slow service with 3 meals requiring returns. The meals could not be delivered together and most were not hot ... management assistance did not seem to help much with billing issues. Very disappointing for a 5 star establishment. The kitchen seemed not able to cope ... will not be returning...

This is very interesting and fascinating place to eat. Outstanding service, and very tasty, well prepared food. For a hotel of its star rating, prices are very reasonable, surprisingly so. Recommended highly.

Situated on Thesen Island and therefore a little out of the way of the busier, more touristic Knysna Waterfront, the Turbine Hotel is in an excellent spot with lagoon views, the funky, renovated semi-industrial interior, modern eclectic furnishings, excellent service and good food. Highly recommended

We stayed 2 nites as part of a group from Canada. Warm welcome and great food and service. A really fun place as it is not typical hotel. Innovative use of building. Loved it!

Top recommendation for breakfast in the area! The staff are exceptionally well trained and the food never disappoints in the breakfast department. The ambiance is nice and relaxed and ideal for anyone in need of a quiet good quality cappuccino in the morning.

We stayed in this hotel, an old power station which had been restored with lots of old machinery still there. Looks beautiful. Dinner was great, overlooking the boats. Service very attentive. Beautiful location on Thesen island!

Our visit to The Island Cafe was a pleasant surprise!

Stunning, interesting venue. Build around the old Power station on Thesen Island. A lot of care went into the restoration of the old buildings. It is a bit hidden though.

Helpful waiters and really tasty, well prepared food.

Be sure to visit 😄😄

I had breakfast and this place. Stunning location I could see why all the tables outside were taken. They stop serving breakfast at 11am but way after 11am I saw people ordering breakfast. Good customer service. I had a salmon croissant with eggs which was buttery and very tasty. The only thing I can say is that they do need to do a buffer style offering for fruits and cereals. That's just the standard and in a 5 star hotel I don't think you should wonder if you only having a warm or cold breakfast. Both should be easily accessible. I would have had a piece of fruit if it was on display.

The name of the hotel is pretty fitting, as it indeed was once a working power station, with much of the industrial elements retained and worked into the refurbishment. As for the cafe, it’s an eclectic mix of furniture and accessories with a definite feminine touch.

I had slight food envy after I swiped a little taste of the fluffy stack, but my own savoury mince & fried egg was just as good, in a more savoury kind of way. By default it comes served on toasted ciabatta, but I curiously opted for the banting oopsie bread.

Interesting location inside the old Knysna and Plettenberg bay power station. The service was only average, but the food was well prepared and presented.
