Review Jacksons - Kempton Park

Beautiful international airport. Clean. Lots of security. Staff can be helpful. Over 30+ airlines fly here. Many direct flights to USA, UK, Europe and Dubai etc. The airport has loads of restaurants, tons of bars and banks and shops. Very well managed airport. Parking is crazy. Expensive prices for parking. Lots of rental car hire companies.

My visit to OR Tambo International Airport was a seamless and efficient experience that left me with a positive impression of one of South Africa's busiest airports. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the airport's modern and well-maintained facilities. The terminal was clean, spacious, and easy to navigate, making my journey through the airport a hassle-free one. The check-in process was quick and organized, with friendly airline staff ready to assist. Security procedures were thorough yet conducted with a sense of professionalism that made passengers feel safe and comfortable. One of the standout features of OR Tambo International Airport is its excellent connectivity and services. There was a wide array of shops, restaurants, and duty-free stores, providing ample options for shopping and dining. Whether I was looking for last-minute souvenirs or a quick bite to eat, the airport had me covered. The airport's lounges offered a peaceful retreat from the bustling terminal, allowing me to relax and unwind before my flight. These lounges were well-appointed, offering comfortable seating, complimentary refreshments, and essential amenities. Furthermore, the airport's signage and information displays were clear and informative, ensuring that I always knew where I needed to be. The Wi-Fi connectivity was reliable, making it easy to stay connected and catch up on emails or stay in touch with loved ones. Transportation to and from OR Tambo International Airport was convenient, with various options available, including taxis, shuttle services, and car rentals. The proximity to Johannesburg's city center made the airport an accessible gateway to the region. Overall, my visit to OR Tambo International Airport was a positive experience that reflected the airport's commitment to efficiency and passenger satisfaction. It's clear that the airport's management places a strong emphasis on providing a pleasant travel experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to fellow travelers. Whether you're departing or arriving in Johannesburg, OR Tambo International Airport ensures a smooth and enjoyable journey.

Very efficient and clean airport. Lots of places to eat and charge your phone. Not very comfortable for long layovers though.

Well organized, beautiful terminal building convenient approach to main highways to Johannesburg and Pretoria. Gautrain is best mode of transportation to the twin cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria from the airport terminal. Nice departure, arrival and transit lounge.

Indeed the biggest and best airport in Africa. It is suited for my long layovers that I walk, eat, shop, rest and fly out of without any problems. My only observation is that free internet is only available for 4 hours in a day and not a fast one. Also, every 15 minute luggage security PA doesn't let you sleep for more than 15 minutes. Staff are kind and cooperative. Best in Africa!

I've been here numerous times. It's nice airport. Lots of good memories. It can be chaotic at times, but it is what it is. They continue to improve. The facilities are clean. There are a lot of shops and places to eat. I look forward to visiting the airport every time I am traveling to South Africa.

My wife and I recently flew from Cape Town to O.R Tambo return, and overall we had a good experience. The airport is quite large, but there are signage boards spread around as well as electronic boards with gate information on your flight details, so you won't get lost. In the Central Terminal as well as the Domestic Terminal there are several restaurants and curio shops to keep you busy and the waiting areas are spacious and clean. When we landed there was a mix up with our flights' luggage however the staff handled it professionally and across the board everyone we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. It is also good to note, if you are renting a car, bringing it back is easy as the road signage of where you need to go to drop it off is clearly set out.

Customs is a beast to get through both arriving and leaving. There are porters everywhere trying to help you... they expect tips and will often try to poach you from another porter, both now expecting tips. But once on the other side of security, there is plenty of shopping to keep you busy when you arrive too early for your flight. The terminal waiting area for regional flights feels more like a bus depot. You go down a huge escalator into a big waiting room where you wait for a bus to take you to your plane. The soap dispenser in the bathroom for ladies was out of soap, so they had a cup for you to reach into to get soap...gross.

I had to pick up someone that was pushed in wheel chair. So I only could use lifts. Everything worked perfectly and the pickup went without any problems. Everyone was also very friendly and helpful.

No real complaints Security was busy but efficient and you didn't have to wait too long in the long queues that were for domestic departures only. Plenty of departure boards around so it's easy to find your flight and what gate you're leaving from. Also a lot of shops and cafes as you would expect and the toilets were also very clean and the staff working for the airport were friendly and polite. I still think Cape town is the much better airport to leave and fly into South Africa but not all airlines fly into Cape town.

OR Tambo is one of South Africa's biggest airports. With international airlines as well as domestic airlines, this airport connects you to the world and beyond but is also just as efficient in connecting you to whichever city you need to connect with. The airport has retail stores, banks, resturants ,the post office as well as pharmacies. It's truly a convenience all round for all your needs. Security is very tight and the service very professional always.

South Africa Airways was the official carrier of the Team South Africa to the first ever Africa Para games in Ghana Accra. While at the Airport the team was hosted By SASCOC at the Bidvest Lounge.
