Review The Dros Restaurant - Kempton Park

Everything and everyone deserves a 5 star rating. The food was out of this world. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and not to mention how stunning the place looks. Felt like I was dining in some restaurant in Greece or Italy. The prices are also extremely affordable. Would definitely recommend it for a date night or a night out with the family. There is also a play area outside for the kids, and when it gets too cold, the play area inside will always keep the kids entertained.

For the first time I have taken veggies and it exseeded my expectation and it made me so full and that is what I wanted.I love the surlion steak it is one of my favourite meals at Dros in Kempton Park near the Checkers.The waiters and managers are so friendly and they always welcome us with a warm welcome.Thank you so much Dros you guys rock and became one of our best places to eat out.

This is the largest Dros I have ever visited. I really enjoyed the bar area. Sitting at the bar after work having a beer and a meal was great. The bartender was really on point and the beer was cold. Food was served at the bar. Well done. There is also a much bigger seating area for families with kids. Menu is extensive. It caters for all. The service was great and the staff is really friendly.

Ribs were good, prawns were the best. We enjoyed the meals. the place is just not warm enough, I was freezing and couldn’t stay longer for dessert.

Food was excellent. Service a bit slow, but we still had a wonderful time. Kids enjoyed the play area.

Their customer service is awesome and very welcoming. It is very spacious if you have a big family or a lot of friends. Has a great atmosphere and good food.

5 star all round, the lady that watches your kiddies is amazing and so kind we keep going back for her, our waitress was amazing, service is fast and food absolutely delicious!

Prices have increased, understandable. Friendly and professional service as always, a big thank you to the staff 😊. Enclosed kids play area, no allocated staff member to oversee tough, parents would have to keep an eye on the kiddies. Great wine list with a nice variety, added cocktail and shooter varieties to the list. The food was tasty, a few new additions to the menu, nice. An allround satisfying culinary experience. A family friendly pub and grill with an awesome vibe! Spots fans; great place to watch games. Inside area is great for a romantic dinner too.

Our waiter was very friendly. He delivered the service with a smile. The kids play area is safe.

Dros!! Great pub!! Especially sport screening!! Outside tables never really busy. But inside table's with big screen always packed. I really cant comment i usually only have breakfast. Wick is very nice. Staff very experience. Even more than the manager on duty ar that timw 8 to 11am. Compliments to staff they speak English, Afrikaans, and zulu.

Fantastic restaurant! Staff are friendly and inviting. The children play area is great for young kids

Did not buy food hence can not rate their menu, was there for drinks, however it has great service and friendly staff. It caters for everyone in our rainbow nation.

I had the best fillet steak at Dros Kempton Park. Mouth melting, soft as butter. Really just the yummiest. Their cocktails are always fantastic. It was rather busy and crowded. Very loud, but the live performance was good, waitress also had to juggle many tables thus the service wasn't great, but out of her control.

Another yummi breakfast in our favourite family restaurant. Love the relaxed atmosphere Sunday mornings. We can sit back ,relax and enjoy our meal. Skhu (40) thanks for being such a charming waitress.

A great overall vibe to hang with friends after a long day. Great sections of wine to go with any type of meat meal. Great cocktails... Their long island ice teas are to die for

So sad to see the deterioration of this place, having been regularly in 2015/16 last nights disappointment in management and bar tenders that ting last round at 21:15 on a Friday night at month end with a good count of clientele still in the bar and kitchen hadn't closed yet but last round is being called whilst we wait for our dinner to arrive. It takes three bar men to pour a draft and mess up one cocktail order?! Shocking! Thankfully our good&faithful waitress Maria is still there offering excellent service but for how long with what seems to be a badly managed entity.

We decided to try something different than our usual hangouts. We shared a Greek salad which was a decent portion for two people to share and the ingredients were super fresh. Hubby ordered the pepper crusted rump with chips and onion rings - he was very happy with the dish. I ordered a seafood special of mussels and prawns. The prawns were very good but the mussels were disappointing. They are served with some kind of garlic sauce, but it was light on garlic and the sauce itself was congealed and lumpy. Service was good although the waiter disappeared once we had our coffee so it was a bit of a mission to find him to get the bill.

Went to a kids birthday party here today. Really not a fan of Dros. It's very dimly lit, has no background music & just feels as dead inside as an emo kid.* <br/>The service was mixed, our designated waitress was a bit short with us, brought the wrong orders & was generally unpleasant. The other waiters & staff however were super polite.<br/>They don't have the breakfast special anymore, and their Dros breakfasts were almost exactly the same as Wimpy, except their bacon wasn't crispy& tasty. Not sure how one can get bacon wrong?<br/><br/>All the kids did love the play area though.<br/><br/>(*Disclaimer: I'm not hating on emos, I actually dig them! x)

Wonderful service from friendly staff.  Great place to meet up with friends for a catch-up or just to go with my family to relax and enjoy a fantastic meal.

This is the worst service I have ever experienced. The manager was rude and at 16:50 he tells us we cant have the special which clearly says it only starts at 17:00. Apparently all the stock for the special will be used by the people already inside (even before it starts?!) Wont visit again.

Horrible servers and service, no one pays attention to you when you arrive, we waited 10min at the door... they weren't fully equipped for their own Birthday special.. They ran out of stock so we were turned at the door, they didn't even offer us something different to entice us to stay.<br/><br/>It lives up to it's rating

After three hours of the incredible sightseeing at Lion Park, we journeyed to Dros, Kempton Park for lunch. A well-known landmark throughout South Africa, Dros features an extensive wine selection, sports lovers can remain glued to live sports fixtures on their large TV screens and kids are kept occupied in the “Kidz Play Areas”. While there were no takers for wine, beer seemingly was the favorite call as we tucked into the pre-ordered selection and between the steak, fish and lamb chops. <br/><br/>Though these dishes couldn’t be faulted, we struggled to finish off the huge portions. Moreover, since we started with a soup and followed by the super-rich and creamy vanilla chocolate ice cream to end our meal, as much as we tried, sad that food went to waste. Overall, I loved the ambiance, food was not too bad, and said again,  service is always efficient for the pre-ordered selection for tour groups.

Really sad how this From has gone down. Such a prime spot, could be a great family restaurant but yeah....not for my family thanks. Breakfast lunch dinner all disappointment. Seems to be a drinking hole more than anything else

Had a nice meal a while back, bit of a cold atmosphere, and the service wasnt friendly at all. Variety on the menu & great breakfasts. Big play area outside for the bambinos

Came on a busy Rugby night. The waiters truly tried to find us a sent inside. There food is enjoyable. There service is good and the atmosphere is magic. What a pleasant place.
