Will never eat at any Ocean Basket Besides Emperors palace. Food always amazing and fresh. Staff are extremely helpful. Manager (Justin) just puts the cherry on top with his amazing attitude, willingness to assist, always checking if things are okay. He really creates a joyful atmosphere with his presence, He treats you more than just a common everyday customer paying customer. i write this review because its not a once off good food, amazing vibe kind of place, it is Consistent and does not fail to please.

We went there on new years eve. Thought we will be waiting forever because the Q was very long. Ended up not waiting that long plus even though it was super busy, the service and food was still fantastic. Other places always use the excuse of being busy and then that is the reason for bad food but here is a good example of a place bursting at the seems on a busy night and the food is still to die for.
I personally had a good time. Friendly people serving, yet the food takes long to come and that's why I don't have my full 5. But I enjoyed the food.
Had a sushi plate and a fish and chips.. Decently done.. Also ordered a long island iced tea..which was lacking any punch or a goos taste.. Apart from that really liked the food.. Eould definitely have the sushi again..
We had a really great experience at the Ocean Basket. Our waiter was named Mandla and he was really friendly. My parents ordered the fish and calamari combo with both rice and chips but the kitchen made a mistake and gave them rice. My mother said it's fine when I wanted to ask about the chips but when Mandla the waited brought my food he saw that my parents didn't have any chips and he promptly left and brought them both chips. I would definitely recommend him as a waiter he immediately realised when we didn't receive all we ordered.

Options to grill or fried makes it more interesting

Twas very full and had to wait a while for the food, however it did not dissapoint, the food was very fresh and delicious.

A group of 11 of us had a quick dinner here last night prior to a theatre show. My seafood soup was very tasty and the ingredients were plentiful. The rest of the table mostly had fish and chips or prawns and chips. Everyone was very happy with their food and the portions were reasonable. Given that we had a time constraint, the service was very good.
I was pleasantly surprised by Ocean Basket at Emporers. We were a large group including 3 kids, joining for a late-ish Sunday lunch. To keep things simple we ordered platters to share and carafes. Service was good. Food came out quick and of a great quality - I even enjoyed the grilled calamari which is never something I opt for. My dessert was the chocolate lava cake which was also well prepared and yummy. Well done!
Dropped someone at the airport, thought to go to Emperors to get a bite to eat & kill some time while the traffic dies down. We had really great service and the food was yummy.I had the fish & prawn combo for R89.00 my friend had the fish & chips for R54.00. We shocked at what good value the food was.Will definitely be back to try other options.
I have been out this way for a ballet at Emperors and on a recommendation from a foodie friend, I chose Ocean Basket for our pre-show snack.

Ocean Basket just has such good value-for-money and this particular outlet was no different! Sadly, the service wasn't fantastic but it was quick (and I had been pre-warned so it didn't ruin my meal).
On the food side, with Ocean Basket, I tend to stick to what they do best: seafood platters with their signature creamy lemon sauce, sushi and Italian kisses to finish.
All in all - a good meal, and I do go back from time to time.
We popped in at Ocean Basket to have a few oysters as a birthday treat for one of our colleagues.
Fresh, delicious oysters were served in a pan on ice with lemon and Tabasco to enhance the taste.
Usually one would choose a dry white wine with this but we had cappuccinos and pina collada's, all of which tasted amazing.

Went there before a show. Food was very good! Service was fast. We didn't have much time, and we received our food quickly after ordering.
I do recommend that you book a table especially over the weekend.
Personally this is THEE best OB branch.
Their food quality and taste is always consistent. Their calamari is the softest from all the branches i have been too and the prawns taste good. Yes on the rare occasion their service isnt up to scratch but mostly they are on point, the staff are friendly and they are always busy and i am happy to go back anytime.
Had a great time there on Father's day. We went as a group of 7 and the service was pretty good.
We got the fried zucchini starter which was good but their edemame fritters were dry and lacking in flavour. The salmon platter tasted fine and the salmon roses were pretty big.
Their seafood platters were massive and looked amazing. All the prawns tasted fresh and well-grilled. The calamari heads were top notch and the calamari steak strips were crispy and tender. The hakes were grilled well and the lemon butter sauce went perfectly with rice. Even the table salad was excellent.
Overall, good food and good vibes there. Highly recommend a visit.
Had a platter for 1, very good filling and tasty. waiter “Itai” was very nice even took a picture of me entering and recommended a new drink for me .. their lemons oh father they are so so so hard to squeeze the juice out “Itai” even went to get me some more but damn those things are like mini rocks.. the restaurant is clean with only 2 gentleman waiter serving people indoors and outside part of the restaurant and cleaning
That makes it a bit delay with getting client served. But they make up on that few minutes waited with excellent service..
This is one of the best Ocean Basket I have been to. The service was excellent, great vibe and an amazing experience. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He made our experience great.

Love this place. Some of the best seafood I have ever had. I don’t understand it, everything cooked well, I especially like the calamari and muscles, perfection. I love their butter lemon sauce!
Abit pricey but hey all OB's are, although the service here was great, the food was amazing and tasty.

We asked staff if they would be able to serve us within 90 min prior to a show we were to watch. They did not disappoint.
The served us quickly and efficiently, the food was ready before our drink. We even at 20 minutes to spare before the doors opened.

We visited this ocean basket on Saturday. Amazing service, friendly staff and food out of this world. Super experience. I would definitely recommend this Ocean Basket to everyone. Looking forward to come visiting soon.
Grear environment with nice music in the background. Very calming after gambling. The options on the menu are varied and reasonably priced. Wine is priced competitively. Attentive staff. The tables are quite clean. Separate smoking area so no tobacco fumes. Specials are plastered in the walls in your face. Kitchen looks clean and staff well groomed
