Review Tribes African Grill & Steakhouse - Kempton Park

Very nice and welcoming restaurant. Friendly lady greeted us at the door and escorted us to our table. The waiter was with us shortly to take our drink orders. He gave us advice on drinks and food. Very friendly guy. Service was really good and quick. Food took a bit longer but the quality made up for it. Portions was big and well prepared. Exactly how we ordered it. At times it was a bit noisy but it was because of the amount of people inside. I would suggest to rather make n reservation before hand. This was the best online reservation ever. No calls nothing. They even send a mail back to confirm your reservation. So, for us there was no wait at the entrance. Tribes give you a real African feel with many local dishes.

Great place indeed food so delicious I had a best lamb shank was out of these world our waiter really took care of us very well and the staff is very friendly. Definitely going back again.

Good food, good service, reasonable price and friendly staff. I enjoyed my meal by the window taking in my dryer ou dings and a nice cool breeze. I didn’t feel rushed and took my time, atmosphere was pleasant.

My friends and I had an excellent dining experience at Tribes. Their ribs were massive and great value for the taste and quality. I got the rib eye royale and it was very impressive. It was juicy and tender throughout and well-flavoured. The service was great and the atmosphere was lux and inviting. The restaurant looks great and we had a wonderful dinner with elevated meals. Definitely would recommend this place to all meat lovers.

One of the best restaurants in emperors palace area !!! Quality of food was awesome !!! Service was quick and taste was wonderful ! Very welcoming staff and their service will make you happy and enjoy the dining experience !!! Must try their meat !!! Their salads are amazing and wonedrful

What can I say... Outstanding food and service.. always love visiting this beautiful restaurant when transiting through johannesburg.... Our waiter Freeman was a great host and had a laugh which was infectious... roll on the next time...

Most amazing restaurant I've ever eaten at. The food was delicious, first chef who got my steak perfect. Reasonable prices and the waiters will exceed your expectations, they serve with a smile and very friendly. Our new favorite restaurant.

A little touristy in a touristy place. HOWEVER, 1 mile from the airport. The food is actually very good. They were out of the game dishes when we were there. Had steaks blue cheese salad and local wines. All in all not a bad place. Free shuttle from hotel. We liked it.

Amazing food, we had the snails, fillet steak( cut with a fork soft) and impala steak. Huge portions. My baked potato was super yummy, came with sour cream, but was about the size of a brick. Awesome service, our waiter checked up on us often without being bothersome. And definitely date night atmosphere.

This place is located inside the casino where there are tables in the restaurant then kind of outside of the restaurant but still inside the main building. The menu is big and pretty diverse (mussels, clams, breads, pasta, steak, schnitzel, etc). My friend and I went and got the snails, the cheese wrapped in bacon, two steak dinners, and crème brûlée and it came out to about $67 USD. Our server Zendile was great, definitely recommend.

Best meat meal you will have but don’t go there on a budget they are not cheap. The vibe is awesome the service great food even better. If you need to impress a customer you will do no better than them. If you wanted a cheap meal don’t go there that’s not for you. It’s for the meat lovers and people that loves good food. It’s not a fast food place its a great food restaurant.

Decided to visit Tribes in Emperor's Palace with friends from Seychelles last night, Saturday 18 June. My gosh, there were so many cars!!!! Parking was a bit of a problem .... some of the higher cars parked on the pavements!!!!! First time visiting Tribes. If you're a meat lover, it's your place. Although prices are bit expensive, it's not crazy. Big restaurant - as you walk in, an African guy played guitar and later an African lady sung 'The Click Song'. Waiter took us right through the restaurant to the back ... great strategy, cause when you pass the kitchen - you just smell roast meat!!! A small biltong counter on your left where you can choose and pay for biltong. Hein ordered a lime and soda. He usually asks for a tall glass with ice and the lime on the side. You cannot imagine how many waiters don't understand that ... but at Tribes, our waiter got it right. Cappuccino was great, Virgin Mojito looked refreshing and Windhoek beer good. A small basket with 4 homemade bread rolls, still warm, cheered me up! No-one else wanted some - in hindsight, I should have just continue eating those. It was crusty outside and soft inside. Fantastic!!! The orders were: chicken breast with lemon herb sauce, chips and onion rings (good), ostrich fillet topped with avo and biltong with onion rings (great) and sirloin steak with Madagascar sauce (steak was bit chewy - a bit of a disappointment for a steakhouse!). I am not a meat-lover, so ordered the starter of black mushroom, topped with spinach and cheese. It was good. Great vibe, great food.

Excellent restaurant. Its a steakhouse and others like seafood. The African décor with drums for special occasions makes this a treat. We had Sirloin steak and salmon dishes which was beautiful presented and tasted wonderful. Situated inside Emperors Palace. Closes at 23:00 due to Covid19

We had the game platter (kudu, warthog, impala and ostrich). Absolutely delicious. And I’m Italian so I’m quite picky. Fantastic service: welcoming, friendly and professional. We felt treated with care. Great atmosphere. Definitely recommended.
