The Outspan Restaurant - Kalk Bay - Photo album

Fairly empty and no liquor license so expected the worst. But bottle store next door and bring your own wine. The worst of the meal was the wine which I chose! Seafood was excellent and ended up having an excellent meal relatively cheaply as no extravagant liquor bill. Definitely value for money and
Don't judge a book by it's cover! This restaurant had amazing food, from the ribs to the freshest fish, braaied to perfection. We were a little sceptical on entering because it was a little quiet but I think that's due to them not having a liquor licence. Trust me, don't wait in queues for some of t
Kalkbay has always been one of my favorite places on earth. It's a beautiful place with wonderful shops and restaurants. This is one of them. The staff was super inviting, friendly and super efficient. The food is humble, but absolutely fantastic. I recommend the line fish straight of the braai! Exc
The food was fantastic. After trying to order wine and being told that there's no alcohol, we were a little sceptical. Turned out to be a great night out. It was a little quiet, but that didn't impact on the experience. 4 stars because of the choice of drinks
I was pleasantly surprised firstly with the friendly service (waiters and owners alike), secondly with the food (tasty main course and desert) and I could order a mixture of everything even though it's not as stated on the menu, thirdly the price was very reasonable and lastly, the location as amazi
Warm welcoming service. Fresh well prepared and seasoned seafood from the braii Added value is bringing your own wine and beer or buying it next door. Great view of harbor
Under new management now and serving Portuguese food. Much improved ambience and better service. Food a bit of a mixed bag tho. Peri peri prawns were very good, as was the peri peri chicken. But the chicken trinchado was very disappointing: portion small, with dry overcooked chicken and a sauce tha
I have been frequenting this establishment for years and it has grown over that time but never lost its feel of been a truly traditional locals restaurant. The food is cooked to perfection and there prices are super good for such an expensive area . They are also more than happy to cork a bottle or
Friendly staff. Great service. They do not serve alcohol as they have no liquor licence however there is a bottle store close by. It's convenient and they do not charge a corkage fee.
Best fish, calamari, prawn platter I had in a long while , straight off the Braai. Friendly service and great atmosphere.. not having a liquors license wasn’t a biggy for me as I’m a tea total. WOULD RECOMMEND
Relaxing and great atmosphere. Food tasty and delicious.
Fresh fish, good food & a great local atmosphere.
This place has changed ownership and is now known as Beira-Mar Portuguese Restaurant. Opened yesterday and is an amazing restaurant. Great food like I remember in Mocambique. Service is outstanding!!!
