Review Ohana - Kalk Bay

Its was my first time at this restaurant, we were there for my friend's birthday. She ordered us various quiches, and what a wow! The beetroot and goat's cheese was my favourite. The staff are friendly and extremely attentive and know the menu inside out. Overall a fabulous experience, considering we were there on a rainy winter day. I can't wait to go back in the summertime!

The location is great, with a nice view of the sea. The restaurant is very busy, and we waited a long time for service and food. The wraps we had were delicious, and they had good vegetarian options.

An awesome cafe overlooking a pristine coastline. One cannot have a better spot to have morning coffee and fresh croissant. Tried the Capuccino and vegan almond croissant. Both were fantastic. Many reviewers have complained about the service but given that we were one of the first customers today, service was prompt and provided recommendations, Deyo who served us was too kind. I would highly recommend this place for early morning shot of caffeine and a quick bite of Croissant. Almond Croissant is the best amongst all the ones I've tried in Capetown or any of its suburbs.

Love this quirky restaurant. Food is so delish. Gluten free options, freshly baked pastries and homemade granola are just a couple of options on the menu. All seats have a beautiful view of the ocean.

Place was basically full so service was quite slow. But staff were friendly and the food was good. I had the Salmon Benny with a delicious sauce, and my wife had the flap jacks. The cafe is situated right next to the railway line with a nice view of the sea (unlike quite a few of the other restaurants in the area). It us also pet friendly and the waitron actually brought a bucket of water for the dog at the table next to us.

Amazing food. Service a tiny bit slow. But in fairness the place is jam packed. Gave us a chance to relax, enjoy the views and soak up the vibe. Portion sizes are moderate, which was great because it left space for coffee and cake later on. Also very reasonable prices. Well worth the visit.

One of the best breakfasts I've had in the world. Literally saw a plate pass and asked to have what she was having and it tasted even better. The vibe is chill and the scenery gorgeous. Take some time to stroll the neat stores nearby. Only complaint is that they did take awhile to ask for our order and bring the requested water.

Kalk bay is full of great restaurants but Ohana beach cafe have something special. True to the hawaiian meaning "persons extended family" this eatery is on a "next level. Staff is passionate, friendly and caring. They are true to what hospitality really is. The food is great and combination of flavours exceptional. Coffee really good. They also sell pastries for take away. We took an Ohana "bun" home. Wow it is soft, chewy, nutty, rich with beautiful caramel. I will be back soon

Amazing ocean view in the outside seatings, many gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options and beyond helpful and friendly staff. The local kombucha by CultureLab is really delicious, as are the gluten-free cakes and all other things so far.

What a delightful little place in Kalk Bay with really tasty food, attentive and friendly waiters and an envious view of the ocean. They are dog friendly as long as your furry friend is well behaved. Be aware that the kitchen closes at 3pm after which only cake and drinks are served.

Delicious family cafe with raw juices, healthy, veggie, vegan and big breakfast options. Good coffee. Good prices for quality food. Post surf refuel. Thanks!

Fabulous brunch; unctuous eggs benedict with crispy bacon & sautéed mushrooms to die for! Lovely fresh orange juice and great coffee too. Really cool decor and great views. Just go.... In fact don't. I want it all to myself! :)

This place not only has beautiful views, but an absolutely wicked Vegan croissant - in fact, the best I've had so far in the whole of cape town!

Consistently wholesome, utterly delicious food and amasing cappuccino's (almond milk available!!!). Magnificent views and fab vibe and staff. Best spot in Kalk Bay! Thank you Ohana!!!!

The only reason I didn’t give this place less than 2 stars is because the food and coffee was absolutely delicious. But the service was atrocious. The waitress my friends and I had today was one of the worst waitresses ive ever had in a restaurant. She was rude, unfriendly, cheeky and when whenever we asked for normal things like extra napkins or soft poached eggs (she didn’t even ask how we wanted our eggs done which being a past waiter myself I know you should always ask) it was like we were asking her for the world. Someone I know was having a meeting a few tables from us and even she said that the waitress was very unfriendly and rude. Please sort your staff out because otherwise I really enjoyed my meal, but I’m not sure if I’ll be rushing back.
