Simply delicious, the whole experience: Food, ambiance and service. My fave is the eggs benedict with crispy bacon, strong coffee and just a dash of chilli. Kazaam! Happy Girl for the rest of the day.
I had the most wonderful morning there - such delightful wait staff! Delicious food. Incredible views. It was so cosy under the blanket and everyone was excited to hear what I thought of the special. Can’t wait to go back!
We had our end-of-year office party here today and were most impressed. Fantastic, fresh food with a personal touch. They're vegan/vegetarian friendly and happily accommodate food allergies and intolerances. Highly recommended.
What a lovely venue. Thanks for the excellent, friendly service and the varied options for vegetarians. The food was beautifully presented and I thoroughly enjoyed sharing the delicious pumpkin phyllo tart and fresh, nutty red quinoa salad with crunchy brocilli and delicate slithers of citrus peel. You've inspired me to grow pursulane what a yummy nutty topping!

Food was excellent. Although menu looked like many others, taste was excellent. They do have excellent vegetarian / vegan options even, sausages. Waitress was very friendly and really knew her stuff. We will be back. Great Discovery!!!@
The Courtyard Cafe is absolutely stunning! The location, atmosphere, decor and food are just lovely.
Situated on the second level, tables are set up in a sheltered courtyard with a magnificent view of the ocean and harbour. It’s tranquil and the food is glorious! We had a the slaw salad to share whilst my mum had the stir fry chicken and I had the falafels - I can’t speak for the chicken although my mum said it was flavoursome; the falafels were great - crispy on the outside and smooshy on the inside. The portions are generous and the menu offers nice sharing options, with plenty of vegan choices. There are specials on the blackboard and the food is fresh and wholesome.
I really enjoyed it, the service was a bit lax however we didn’t mind sitting and waiting given our location!
We stopped by on our chilly walk. Just had coffee and apple crumbles - which were so delicious.
There are a number of different areas to sit in from outdoor courtyard to cozy lounge so you can choose what suits your mood.
The staff were great and there are nice little touches here and there decor-wise.

Fantastic gem nestled in Kalk Bay, home away from home with delicious fresh food. In my humble opinion, the best place for a healthy bite, top notch quality, ambience and a great view to match. Highly recommended!
Great Breakfast place in the main road of Kalk Bay which is a beautiful small fishing village 40 minutes away South of Cape Town. Healthy menu, nice balcony overlooking the ocean with an helpful staff. Prices were OK and despite not being a memory to last forever it was nice enough for this testimony which hopefully will help themselves to improve this place that has everything to be TOP in Kalk Bay. Maybe a bit more present amongst the dozens of strollers that pass by the restaurant throughout the day, happy hours for healthy juices...Good luck!
Strolling around the shops in Kalk Bay makes me hungry and luckily enough I found a lovely café at the end of the street if you walk down from Fishhoek side.
It’s advertised outside as vegan and vegetarian friendly but luckily enough they also offer the carnivores amongst us some good old bacon. I opted for some eggs Benedict on ciabatta bread and a latte. Both were great! We sat at a table overlooking the sea and the staff was very friendly.

Set off the Main Road, behind a gallery, I am not sure if people actually find this charming little venue. But we did and were very happy for it. Set in the courtyard (hence the name :), but still with views of the ocean, you feel as if you are in some European city, beset with the charm of street cafes and cobbled roads. The food was fantastic, the waiters so very friendly and we enjoyed a wonderful lunch, sheltered from the wind.
It is just a pity that they are not licensed, as a lovely glass of wine would go perfectly with the charm and the view.
Such a lovely calm spot in the middle of busy Kalk Bay - a true oasis. I sat outside in the shade admiring the art steel tree sculptures while having an amazing slice of carrot and an iced latte. The cake was perfect with lots of fruits and nuts and I also really enjoyed the iced latte. My dining partner had a freshly squeezed juice which was so refreshing. Our waitress was also incredibly friendly. I can't wait to try their salads and vegetarian burger on my next visit!
Update: I have changed my rating from a 4 to 5. I have had about 4 meals here over the last two weeks and wow I am in love! Everything is so fresh and made with so much love. The veg burgers are heavenly. I would recommended this amazing place to everyone!
A very cute café in the heart of Kalk Bay and the prices are +/-R100 per meal which is reasonable for CPT. The service was very good- waiters are friendly and efficient. Tables were cleared promptly. I loved that there’s a bit of a sea view. The homemade ice tea was so good, very fruity and not too sweet. The chocolate muffin was so decadent! I suggest parking up Rosmead Road, they have an entrance there too.
We enjoyed our visit here and our meal was delicious as well as our coffee. The only thing I found uncomfortable was the plastic chairs as they stick to your legs in the heat, it would be great to have cushions to make them a bit comfy. Otherwise the staff were great as well as the service.
Definitely try the mushroom straganoff! Absolutely super yummy. Great chef and great staff. This is a quite a large dish and you could share it with someone. It comes with really soft jasmine rice. We will definitely be back for more of this and to try more of the menu.
If you are looking for tasty vegan food and want to enjoy it in a chilled seaside cafe Courtyard Cafe on the main road in Kalk Bay is the ideal spot. Get a seat on their deck and get in an eyeful of the nearby Indian Ocean as well as a bird's eye view of the hustle and bustle of Kalk Bay.
Food is delicious though lunch time menu is more limited compared to the breakfast menu, but the menu is eclectic and interesting enough that you are sure to pick a winning dish no matter what you choose. They boast their carrot cake is the best in the suburb too!

Kalk Bay it's incredibly cute and this place is perfect in its contest! Welcoming and amazing terrace with ocean view, we had two poke bowl and an avo salad and amazing desserts like a carrot cake and an apple one with vanilla ice cream! Well amazing quality, honest prices and kind service! Definitely recommended!
Very chilled place just a little away from the hustle and bustle. We only had drinks but the burgers looked amazing. They also seem to have a generous vegan offering. Interesting art gallery on the premises.
The menu had several unique items and was very well presented. The waitress provided some good advice on the best options to have on coffee and cake. The kitchem did appear to have omitted an ingredient from the order but it was still really good
Delicious breakfast, vegan and gluten free options. Lots of selection and variety on the menu, choosing one was a tough decision! Excellent coffee and lovely ambience with a view. Highly recommend!
