Nestled in the heart of Norwood suburb in Grant Ave up stairs above Woolworths store, The Restaurant is strictly halal. It offers indoor and outdoor balcony dining. Great place for all day eatery , food is delicious service is great . The restaurant is not crowded at all and overall a great place to dine

Fresh, vibrant and over all exceptionally tasty food. Would 10/10 recommend! Place was fairly busy, and still the food was cooked up to standards and the wait was not even long. Very friendly staff and front of house was very welcoming. I'd definitely be going be going there again ! There's so much more yummy things on the menu I need to go and try 🤤😁

Beautifully set up restaurant. From the look of the entrance my 11 yr old said "I have found my match" we really enjoyed the food. Service was excellent. Our waitress provided the best service ever. Looking forward to going back and exploring other options on the menu👌

Yusuf and his team do an amazing job of preparing fresh meals. The service was on point from Innocent and Nick constantly checked on us. The gnocchi is the best in town. The fillet steak and prawns were done to perfection. I’ll highly recommend giving Velvet on Grant a try. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. Excellent venue for special occasions.

We visited Pizzaghetti Norwood for iftaar/boeka time last night, this place is the best kept secret in Jozi!!! We made a reservation and pre-ordered our food so that it could be near to ready when we got there. Their setting is beautifully spacious, double volume with popping colour and such a grand ambience to it. Ample open space between tables and an outdoor section, if you wanted to be seated on the balcony, which we didnt because it was raining. We were served with complimentary dates and a delicious 😋 wholesome butternut soup and foccacia bread to break our fast with. They have a comfortable place to take wudhu, inside their namaaz/salaah khana, where we were able to perform Maghrib. Then the mouth-watering mains arrived. We had the Americana chicken pizza, a Prawn, Mango and Avo salad, Oven grilled baby chicken, Mac and Cheese and Peri peri wings and everything was delectable. Each bite was an explosion of flavour 👌🏼. Our waitress was attentive and efficient, service was GREAT. After our meal the friendly owner/chef Yusuf came to enquire about our experience and provided some history of their beautiful location. Oh .... Our large pizza came with a complimentary large Margherita 🍕 pizza ... a special they have for Ramadaan!! 👍🏼 We ate leisurely and were able to get to the nearby Houghton masjied in time for Eshaa and taraweegh. Sublime experience, scrumptious food, wonderful setting, great service (this was our 2nd satisfactory visit) and we can't wait to go back and try more menu items and desserts next time!! We have not been to the restaurant in person but after ordering take out we will most certainly pay a visit. The pasta dishes we ordered were delicious! Nestled in the heart of Norwood I can only hope for a wonderful in-person dining experience.

Finally got to try the food here. Got there at around 6pm. The place wasn't busy at the time. The food was good and tasty, however, I felt that for the price, there was very very little toppings on the pizza. I'm all about value for money so at around R150 a pizza, I would like to have a decent amount of chicken / steak / etc. The service was ok. The waitress was friendly, but seemed just a little out of it. She forgot to bring our plates, even after bringing our for to the table. We eventually asked for plates. She apologized though which was appreciated The chai latte served here is delicious. Nothing much to say about the decor. All in all, the experience wasn't too bad.

Pizza and pasta for supper...sooo delicious! So good to find a halaal friendly pizza/pasta shop close to home, the owner showed me around and we will definitely be back! Prices are fair and service was excellent!

Nice spot with the friendliest staff Vusi our waiter recommended the best meals. Everyone was very respectful. Definitely coming back This is a must go to place in Norwood

Up the staircase and out into a massive teal double volume venue, a refreshingly spacious place with a vibey atmosphere. I ordered the penne Carbonara which was excellent and big enough for two, the taste of velvet stays true! I'll be back for the beef chimichurri

Food was great! Service was amazing! Was a little concerned when we were the only people in the place but it turned out great

Three of us went for the Sunday buffet. We were pleased with the variety of savoury options like chicken strips, mince kebabs, little sausages, eggs made to order. The crumpets were very heavy and dry. The waffle pieces were much better. Unfortunately there were no pastries.... a favourite of ours. The rolls were quite stale. There were bits of fruit slices but a child was touching everything on the platter so we avoided that. No coffee is served, but there is rooibos and black tea. I would suggest that a server maybe stands by the foods to avoid children touching everything. That is the responsibility of parents, but not everyone does this. Good value for money. The waiters were all attentive and helpful.

Fully Halaal Beautiful restaurant that has an amazing ambiance . Staff is super friendly and the food is on point.
