Review Mr. George - Johannesburg

Nonny Masango
The sushi tastes delicious especially the crunchy prawn rolls and the SUV combo. The ribs were okay, not the best but okay. The prawn curry was nice with the rice, a bit overwhelming with the chip thing though. The portion sizes of the meals are more than enough for two people to share, so you will definitely leave with a full stomach. The drinks were fresh and tasty, wish they had more freezo flavours and options, thought they’d ask what flavour I wanted or at least tell me what flavour they have available in the store. The flickering of some of the tables lights can be irritating for some, but all-in-all, the place has a great atmosphere filled with conversations from each table.

This place was great, very chilled and nice environment and the setting is very good. We had a very friendly waitress take care of us for the evening, and she treated us very well. She kept checking up on us just enough to make us feel her presence, but not too much that you couldn't even focus on your food and conversation. The prices were also quite reasonable.
Waseem Samsodien
Tried the French dip sandwich. Beef fillet was tender and the dipping sauce was rich and full of flavor. The rest of the group had the sushi, poke bowl and pasta. All the food tasted amazing and service was friendly

Second time going to this restaurant. The staff is amazing. There’s no way you will leave without giving someone a tip. The food is amazing. The first time I had oxtail and the second time I had steak. Freaken amazing. Thank you for the great service and good food. The prices are also reasonable for the top class service. 😭😊🙌🏾🙏🏽

Fantastic place for warm sunny days to eat great food outdoors. Great sushi.

Wow! Never been disappointed by the food, service or atmosphere. The manager Nishal is amazing along with his remarkable staff. Salmon tacos…ammmazzzzzing!!! But the burger Mmmmm…let’s just say pick a couch to sit on cos you’re gonna need an indulgent nap of satisfaction afterwards 😋🥰💯
Peter Tobin
Faultless experience from the warm welcome to attentive service and great food at affordable prices. We enjoyed a delicious hummus starter and chicken and beef pregos with sensational chips. Definitely lives up to the recent review in The Citizen newspaper. Thank you to Litha and the team.
Ali Suhail
Thank you so much to gwembetsha for your kind services. Food is really very high quality in taste
Gavin Hsiao-Ying Kung
Excellent service, the waiters are very friendly. We enjoyed the food, unfortunately the veggie burger was out of stock. The price is a bit high but worth it.
Bongiwe Nyembe
The sushi was smaller than I thought it would be, but it was tasty. One of the best mocktails I've ever had.

I went there for dinner on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Food was superb and the service was great. I was with a group of 6 people and we got the following for starters: 1. Rock Shrimp Tempura roll 2. New style sashimi - Salmon 💯👌 3. S.U.V 10-pieces 4. Squid heads 5. Salt & pepper calamari The salmon was very tender and fresh, I highly recommend the new style sashimi. The shrimp tempura 🍤 was quite tasty, prawn was fresh and the sauce complimented it well. The sushi rice wasn't sticky enough though, some of the rolls were falling apart as we picked them up. The squid head portion was also quite small, considering the price. For mains we got: 1. Sticky chicken salad 💯👌 2. Chalmar Beef Tomahawk 3. Charcoal roasted nachos 4. Beef ribs 5. Penne Napoletana Best salad I've ever had 😋 it was so fresh and the portion was great. The Tomahawk steak was cooked well, although the plate didn't retain heat for long and it got cold pretty fast. The nachos and penne were alright, and the beef ribs were incredible. I couldn't even take a proper picture because everyone was trying to get a piece! Overall, this place is great for date night/ special occasions. Their prices are high but most of the dishes were worth it. I highly recommend this place when you visit Melrose Arch.

My mother and I had a delightful evening at Mr George’s on Saturday night. They managed to squeeze us in at 8pm. We had a table inside and the atmosphere was joyful yet still you had privacy. Our waiter Ebna, looked after us so well. He was extremely attentive, charismatic, funny and friendly. He told us he had only been doing this role for 1 week which surprised us as he was such a natural. We hope if we are to return, he would be serving us again! Like our waiter, our food was also 5 stars. We ordered the vegan California rolls for starters- yum yum yum, and the beef fillet and salmon for mains. Along with sides, everything was cooked to perfection and was packed full of flavour. We ended the 3 hour meal with a Dom Pedro. Thank you for such a beautiful introduction to Johannesburg.
Lakisha Nicole
Went with a friend for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience! The manager was attentive, informative, and had great suggestions. Our server was fabulous. She took such good care of us. We loved the edamame, vegan sushi, smoked salmon poke bowl, and crispy salmon roll. Also the drinks were delicious. Definitely recommend checking them out!
Deon van Aarde
Allll there food was amazing!!! We will be back!!! How do you get a pizza base like that, best ever!
Paul Drew
This curry is so delicious!! My colleague said the salmon very tasty and cooked exactly right to keep it moist and flavorful. Really nice place with good service and fantastic food. They were able to answer my food allergen questions without issues. We are very happy we came here. A++ would recommend.
Rafael Yuri
Outstanding serivce, food tastes like heaven. My wife said that was the best poke bowl shes ever eaten ❤️

There are many restaurants in Melrose but I chose Mr George for experience ,it was a good choice indeed ,I loved everything,
Mark Stillerman
This is a brilliant restaurant that serves very good quality food in an upmarket setting at the popular Melrose Arch. They have a diverse menu including pasta, sushi, burgers, salads etc. The food is always good and the service is excellent. There is indoor and outdoor seating
Szymon Welgus
Great place to come get a quick bite to eat or to come with colleagues or friends for a nice chilled meal I've eaten here several times and the food plus service is always good! Great location and vibe. Definitely recommend coming here
Ronald Levy
Great food and service. Best meal we have had in a long time. Fantastic atmosphere in a very relaxed restaurant. We went with family from Sydney. They raved about it. Definitely going again soon.
Tsholofelo Lesego Makgeledise
Its no longer jbs corner its called George now Cand they try add a variety menu
Mpumi
JB's corner has changed to George's. The menu was fine and the food was just okay - just overall moderate. The service was extremely bad. Disappointing experience for a birthday celebration.
Loveroffood
The atmosphere definitely adds to the rating, it’s very sophisticated but homely, the staff is friendly. Went there for a breakfast and another time a dinner and both times the food was really good, and their tea and coffee is really nice, even the homemade biscuit, is a very nice touch.
Kay
Occasionally did breakfast here. It was always busy and service was rather slow unfortunately. They serve decent portions and has a great vibe.
Kiran
Totally appalled with the price of draft beer,R64 a beer is a rip off.Went to the bar ordered two draft beers ,they only had one variety so I ordered them thinking that it will be the normal R40 to R45 a draft beer elsewhere, but was stunned when I received a bill for R128 for two beers. Don’t rip the people off.I am frequent customer of yours at the Sandton branch. When I spoke to the manager she said that is the price and there is nothing she can do.It does not even appear on the menu.
Little Miss Rabbit 🐇
Service great, buzzy restaurant with a modern vibe. Portions are generous and tasty. Well situated, great to place to eat on a night out with friends.
Sean William
First of all, I love JB’s corner in Sandton. So I had really high expectations. And Melrose was even better especially because of the location and vibe, compared to being in a mall.<br/><br/>So the service was friendly and quick.<br/>The food was delicious and filling.<br/>And the location is out of this world for a JHB city vibe.<br/><br/>And I really appreciate a restaurant that does an all day breakfast. My favorite meal is still the Blondie.<br/><br/>Can’t wait to go back.
Dineo Mosia
The waitron spoiled the experience for us. She didn’t take orders and instructions very well. This led to long periods of waiting between meals.
Heidi Bantam
Our go to for delicious salads, which hit the spot every time. And these are half portions, perfect when paired with a nice Chardonnay and some people watching.
Sean Jones
We popped in at JB's for a light lunch. The first thing that got my attention was the vibe and the decor, its creative and cool. The food is good and the waiters are efficient and have a good knowledge of the menu. Its a great spot and I'll definitely be back.
Azra Karim
Always the best service! <br/>The sushi menu is much better than the Sandton JB’s. <br/>Affordable and great size sushi! <br/>Yummy platter and salmon reloaded 😍
Wimpie Le Roux
Poor service on a Friday morning. Sadly had to ask for my coffee order twice despite the restaurant not being busy. Also had to ask if i am able to order food. Not the service experience one expects.
Gontse
I had the Hot Pot Penne Bake Pasta with the JB's Appletizer Mojito. I honestly enjoyed my meal. It was served hot, the cheese melted in your mouth and was it cooked to perfection. It was filling and honestly the portion is worth more than its value. A definite must try.
TheGirlWithTheBlueHair
This place makes the best strawberry shortcake sangria and the food is delish! With great portion sizes and admirable service! The staff is friendly and makes really great drinks recommendations !
Tam Loves Food
Nice breakfast spot at Melrose Arch. Love their selection of cakes! Always have good service despite it often being very busy. Balanced menu with options for everyone. An 'old faithful' restaurant!
Bernard Snaid
Horrible service.<br/>Waited 20 minutes to be told breakfast meal will be another 10 minutes.<br/><br/>30 minutes to make eggs!<br/><br/>Certainly won’t be going back there for breakfast meeting.
FatCake101
Had the chance to come here on Friday night, the vibe is amazing and so is the interior look of the restaurant overall. I must admit that there aren’t that many choices on the menu for vegetarians. The service was decent, and friendly staff. It’s very busy on a Friday night !
Wes Smuts
We came for a quick sunday morning breakfast en route to the airport.<br/><br/>The service was good.<br/><br/>The burgers were aweful. Patties must be bought in and not made onsite, they were thin and dry.<br/><br/>The big issue with this venue is it is filthy. It needs it’s upholstery cleaned and a general clean would serve it well.
Matt Roos
I was very impressed with JB’s corner. <br/><br/>Food<br/><br/>We ordered some sushi and the chicken prego. The sushi was unbelievably good, with a great combination of flavors brought together in a clever, contemporary manner. The prego was served was on a fresh bun with a delicious sauce and perfectly cooked fries. <br/><br/>Ambience & Service<br/><br/>The ambience is great and the place always seems to have a vibe. The manager was very accommodating in finding us a place to sit and our waitress was friendly and efficient. <br/><br/>The pricing was what you would expect from a higher end restaurant at Melrose Arch, but you do get what you pay for.<br/><br/>Will definitely return.
Sushi-Sue
Pretty as a picture ! This is the 4x4 no.2 meal. I love the variety on the menu - but not so much that most items come in portions of 8. The tempura prawn sushi is AMAZING and pushed this rating to a 4
Bryanston Boytjie 💪
Im sitting here after my Bacon and Egg burger wondering would i order that again? Yes! It was great and the cocktail to top it off. What a way to spend a saturday afternoon
Deon Louw
JB’s is that perfect all rounder. With something for everyone, and everything being delicious it’s a great option when going out with a group or when everyone is in the mood for something else. <br/><br/>Their salads are my favourite, generous portions and well constructed. Their cakes are also delicious, and a great way to end off any meal. <br/><br/>Thanks for all the good times!
Jerome Taylor
Brought my friend along. Had very good pasta and burger. The coctails still need a bit of improvement. Got served by a big short waitress who seemed to be all over the place and gave us little attention. We had an amazing time though. Unfortunately my regular waiter is no longer there but the place still rocks
Paul Habib III
Top Class- need to stock up on some Gorgonzola Cheese <br/>I really like the new menu as it's has pretty much everything and don't specialise in anything specific.
#rateaplate
The food and cocktails were amazing! I had ribs and chips - amazing! My mother had schnitzel- more amazing! And the men had burgers which looked the best! The portions are big and the prices very reasonable! We will definitely be back!
Jerome Taylor
Great experience. Excellent recommendatio<br/>n from the waiter Ashley. Their burgers are simply the best. The 30 min wait was worth it. Will do it all over again
Paul
A basil pesto mushroom pasta severely lacking flavour and vibrance. Poor showing.<br/>The salmon pasta was quite nice but lacked the flavouring of salt that such a fish requires. Like it was boiled and not grilled.
Guillermo Van Veen
I love the food, but the service is just horrendous and I have noticed it getting increasingly worse over the past year. <br/><br/>During my last visit, I was not greeted by any of the 6 waiters who were chatting with each other, had to get a table myself, before getting a waiter who gives us the food list (without wine list) without saying hello. <br/><br/>I then spent 5 minutes to try catching the attention of a waiter (to get the wine list) but their conversations were seemingly more important. <br/><br/>I then left without ordering anything. <br/><br/>The management had a really good reaction and answer so let’s hope I can change the review next time I come !
Advah C
The food was shocking. My sister had the rainbow reloaded, which upon arrival had prawn in it - not the usual. I can get better sushi at Kung Fu on grant ave. They replaced her sushi but it looked too terrible and tasted worse. They forgot to finish off the dish. So no garnish or mayo on top. I had Costas chicken rice, my rice was swimming in napoletana sauce and upon taking a bite my chicken was RAW. the service wasn't great. I'm definitely not in a hurry to come back here. In general our big table was not pleased with their food.
Nolene Du Preez
Meetings, meetings, meetings. <br/><br/>The only place in Melrose Arch that serves amazing coffee, cocktails & sushi while your meetings take place. <br/><br/>I swear I check in twice a week for meetings. <br/><br/>Vibey & convenient!
Hitesh
My favorite place. You'll see me once in 10 days surely. I really don't have to say more. Must have the Pesto pasta in penne, my wife loves the cosmopolitan, she says it's the best in Johannesburg. <br/>Ambience: casual, I love sitting at the bar until our table gets ready. <br/>Staff: very warm and friendly
Stevenalexkarr
What a great experience. The vibe was awesome. The staff is friendly and always checking up to see if you are still happy and OH MY WORD the food was divine. <br/><br/>Was a bit cramped but apart from that the evening was great. <br/><br/>Thank you JB's Corner for the wonderful service.
Grayson Vadival
JBs corner has a nice vibe to it. Service was excellent, I did not expect to unearth amazing pizzas here. Pleasantly surprised and I am heading back tomorrow
Talia Lee Cohen
Always loved their cajun chicken salad, and hands down to their sweet sesame chicken salad too! Lovely service, good cocktails, bustling vibe! Thank you 😍
Jessica Armstrong
We went for a work lunch to JBs Corner (14people) and had the most wonderful time. The food is great, the nachos in particular are awesome and their cocktails are fun, festive and refreshing. A little on the expensive side but worth a visit for sure!
Dale Glajchen
Ordered a sweet chicken pizza takeaway to get home and find it covered in mushrooms! How revolting! I wasn't charged for them so something wrong in the kitchen :/ #disappointed
Jacqueline De Sousa
Whether it's a cold day and I've Popped in for a coffee, or sitting down for a warm lunch. This place doesn't disappoint. jBs is in my good books.
Foodie And The Feast
One of my favourite corners of Joburg. <br/>Melrose Arch is a beautiful place to visit alone, but when you sit at JB's enjoying one of their delicious meals, it becomes even prettier. <br/><br/>I love coming to this restaurant. The staff are friendly, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is warm and bright, and the setting is absolutely welcoming. <br/><br/>If I could choose somewhere to go for a meal on a sunny day in Joburg, I'd choose JB's.
Sibusiso Radebe
Great service with attentive staff. Lovely vibe for any occasion. Definitely a place I could go to at least once a week. Their rainbow cake is the best
Silindile Mncwabe
You would think it be empty for a Sunday but nope it was packed which was great gave the place a lively vibe. Service was good, food was absolutely amazing enjoyed my grilled chicken breast with the yummiest creamed Spinach, they have generous portions of ribs of all that we had actually. Delicious refreshing Cocktails. Place defenitly worth visiting
Douglas Lorimer
The missus, the kids and I decided to try the new Paul at Melrose Arch today, but settled in at JB's Corner when we encountered the hour long queue. JB's service was quick and friendly and the food was tasty and seemed reasonably priced (I was expecting pricier from a Melrose Arch restaurant). The restaurant is showing a little wear and tear, though. It's definitely not a foodie spot, but was a pleasant fall back to our original plan.
Sana
This rating is for their sushi platters. Amaaaazing and delicious. Been back a few times for these. Pricey but worth it. Was a friends birthday and they gave complimentary cake. Very niice of them. The creme brulee was also really good.
Swetha Suneja
JB's Corner:  We had been here for our 3rd Month Anniversary lunch. This place has a warm vibe and is usually crowded during the weekends. I love their interiors and the seating arrangement inside-out. This place has an elaborate menu and a bit pricey. <br/><br/>For the nibbles we ordered the JB's Nachos(Cheese) and Pesto Pasta. For the drinks we ordered Strawberry Mojito and Stella Artois. The Pesto pasta was fresh and delicious. However, the JB's Nachos(Cheese) was way too cheesy. The Strawberry Mojito was good and flavorful. However, their portions were enough to satisfy an average appetite. Their service is good and the food was well presented. <br/><br/>Overall, I would recommend this place to socialize and small celebrations and would be back to try some new flavors from their extensive menu.
Laura Broccardo
10 years ago I said Jb's Corner made the best burgers in town. <br/>I stick to that statement today. <br/>They make the BEST burgers!!!!<br/>They win hands down!!!
Jill Nudelman
Not my favourite place but hey - for the sake of Zomato, I'll make the concession. It's very noisy, the tables are squashed together and it attracts boykies and the female equivalent. The decor is too glitzy for what it is and its odd shape gives it bad feng shui. <br/>The menu is very large - a warning sign that everything will be mediocre but let's wait and see. <br/>Avo maki. I don't care that they're not too neat; they taste fine. <br/>Grilled chicken breast peri peri - outstanding! Fresh fresh fresh Greek salad and an excellent fillet steak - the good thick cut. And the chips. OMG! I shouldn't have started. Good presentation. <br/>Service was slick, friendly and professional. <br/>Ok. So I was wrong. Great meal! <br/>Corkage should have been a cheap R45 for a stunningly soft and velvety Rabelais 2010 but it was waived.

Boi do I love this place. Went to the one in Sandton mall with 2 friends, I found it a bit difficult to choose what I wanted to eat so I had some sushi while my friends had pasta and a sandwich. The staff was very friendly, the place is beautiful and peaceful. The vibe was great and so was the food. We had a plate of Nacho's as a starter because I'm a huge fan ofcourse.. There's nothing better than enjoying good food with good company. I didn't get a chance to try the milkshakes, I hear they are great. Will definitely be going back.
Amanda Ngcobo
My partner & I came on a relaxed Sunday mid-morning. He enjoyed a well-prepped breakkie & I had a fillet steak. I requested medium done but it was a bit on the well done side, nevertheless, it was juicy & tender so I enjoyed it. I had a delicious appletini & we had a bottle of Diemersfontein as well, went down so well with the steak. The service was average, our waitress was nice but wasn't around often. I like this JB's better than the on at Sandton. 😘
Kelly Steenberg
Amazing lunch spot! Good vibey ambiance. Had a fantastic time with friends..<br/>Great service, friendly staff! Amazing food and perfect seating.
Deepa Daya
This is the first time I've been to.this branch in years. I was quite disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options. I ended up trying 'The Blues' which was a vegetarian pizza with no cheese. It really good. The atmosphere was great. In general it was a lovely place to have lunch.
James Marsh
JB's Corner stays a winner! I have only been to the one in Sandton and was very keen to try this one. It certainly didn't disappoint. The space is beautiful and has a great feel to it, with a great space outside. The food was very good, we had perfectly poached eggs, they have a great menu with original variety. The freshly pressed juices are a winner! Our service was very friendly and efficient. Definitely a recommendation when in the area.
Russel Roth
Been coming here for years , the food is always exceptionally tasty , burgers I rate as one of the top in town , pasta and salads are excellent , although the sushi is good it is very pricey , all in you will struggle to find a bad meal here , P.S the Macon is superb

Went to meet an overseas friend for breakfast yesterday. No fault of the restaurant, but there was no water in the center, therefore no coffee or hot drinks. I asked which juices were fresh, and ordered the orange, which apparently  was freshly 'delivered' that morning. Isn't fresh meant to mean squeezed from the fruit in the kitchen? Then ordered the Avo Toast, only to be told that there wasn't any. My friend asked to see the manager, who told us that because avo's are out of season, they weren't serving it, and that if he did serve it to us, 'we would cry at the price'. Instead ordered two poached eggs, which were served ice cold. Not even room temperature - ICE cold. Presumably they didn't have any water to heat up the eggs that were cooked some time previously.<br/>Seriously, the menu must have been planned knowing that at certain times of the year, avo's are more expensive, but surely this is built into your food costs. Which can only mean that during their season, your profit is huge. Surely providing what's on the menu, and going that extra mile, can only mean more business for you. You won't have mine again, that's for sure!
Angie
Happy start to a new year! 👌<br/>Four of us had an awesome New years pre-celebration here at JB's!<br/>The vibe is so welcoming & the décor is charming. The guys were happy about the big screens where they could watch the game.<br/>Service from our waitess was excellent.<br/>We had the:<br/>Sweet chilli chicken pizzas<br/>We all agreed that it was one of the best chicken pizzas out there!<br/>Can't wait to go back for a date night with my husband, we loved it that much.<br/>Happy new year Zomato friends! 💙
Rebecca Lamb
I have had numerous disappointing experiences with JB's melrose arch. On multiple occasions we have received incorrect orders and have had bad, slow service. I will not be going back again.
Dani Kofsky
The service, food and vibe are all good!! <br/>I have always been a fan of JBs. On this occasion we went for a friend's birthday brunch and the meal was enjoyed by all. I had a Sunshine salad (half portion) as their portion sizes are very large and usually too much to finish in 1 meal. The burgers are all delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and tried her best to make sure my friend had a great birthday brunch.
FoodiewhippedSA
The place was really great when they originally opened. Somehow I feel like the place lost its touch and essence. I really love tge Lindt brownies absolutely divine. But as I went there more often I noticed the brownies were different. The were hard, and not what they use to be. Coffees and freezo's were great a bit pricey but worth it.
Nabihah Plaatjes
Lindt Chocolate Brownies! I first fell in love with them at this particular JB's, 8 years ago, when I was on my first real date with my now husband! Maybe it was the company? haha... But the other food here is amazing as well; love the nachos! It is also a great meeting place or somewhere you can just chill and watch the games while having a good snack and drinks. The portions have decreased during the years and the price has increased - but we've seen that in many restaurants unfortunately. Would be nice if they could have a "throwback price and portion" every now and again to keep us loyal, but broke, foodies around.
Jolene
I've only been at this JB's twice and I've only ever been here for drinks. I like the setting here more than the others because this one is more open-plan and outdoorsy. The drinks are a bit pricey, but I enjoy the coffee freezos here. The food at the other branches are average so I haven't felt the urge to try it at this one.
Chanel Pillay
Lovely warm feeling to the restaurant.<br/><br/> Additionally they have an easy pick up and go process for takeaways. So you call to place your order and then park outside the restaurant in a specific parking bay and a waiter will bring your order to you. <br/><br/>I just had dessert, a red velvet cheesecake which was lovely and the perfect combination of the two. My boyfriend had a baked pasta and although I can't recall the name. I do remember him really enjoying it and I also had a taste and found it so hearty and satisfying.
Lesiba
I only gave them a 1.0 rating because it was the lowest. I tried to spend my birthday at this restaurant and ended up having the worst night. <br/><br/>I waited over an hour for my food, the service was really slow and to top it all off the manager was rude and condescending when we tried to pose a complaint. I do not appreciate being spoken to as if I am not a paying customer and taking away from my birthday evening for bad service!
Bridget Meyer
Jb's Corner in Melrose is a popular choice for business folk during the week and it can be difficult getting a table at meal times. Luckily, as its quiet a big restaurant with seating inside and out, the wait isn't too long.<br/><br/>As I work just across the road, I frequent it for breakfasts and lunches and can truly say I've rarely been disappointed. Their menu is varied, portions are big and flavours are good. Its a great choice if you're meeting with a big group (with lots of different preferences) or people you don't know well because there'll be something on the menu to satisfy almost any taste.<br/><br/>I can highly recommend their salads which are full of yummy ingredients and big enough for a hungry man too. Their decor is eclectic and makes for a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere.
Tiffany
Went to JBs yesterday (30 October 2016) for a friends birthday lunch. <br/><br/>The service was really good and really friendly.<br/><br/>The food was delicious. We all had a variety of stuff - I tried the mushroom burger and the schnitzel sandwich and they were both great! 🍔🍟<br/><br/>The portion sizes are massive, so make sure you're hungry.<br/><br/>Overall a lovely afternoon with friends. ❤️
Eve
You have to make a reservation if you wish  to get a table here ! Take a side walk table.their cheesy bacon fries are very good. their cocktails are also tasty and they have a good selection.the vibe of the location of this restaurant is the best part<br/> <br/>wonderful dinner or brunch spot.<br/> <br/><br/>***************************************************************************<br/>I ordered the most amazing burger ( bacon and cheese) with fries. <br/>IT was totally what I needed for Friday Lunch.<br/>They also sent extra chilli and garlic.<br/>I thought the meal would come with Fries, but you have to order it as a side.

Recently went with my son for quick breakfast and then decided to take my in-laws, nephew & his partner who rave about the salads .. They have already used new uber so to have said salads delivered to them 😎 I had phoned to make booking and they don't do bookings but when we arrived we didn't wait long .. In fact when we arrived a table was paying and a reserved sign was put on the table .. On enquiry it was for us to avoid confusion with new diners arriving. We had tacos to start - lovely and chest and plenty to share between 4 of us. I had sushi which was really good and the others had various salads, even my father-in-law!! most unlike him but he rated it excellent. Good selection of wine, cocktails and beer. It is important to ask for your salad to be chopped I'm told.
Christiaan Strydom
I had dinner here last night with a group of friends. We know it gets quite busy here, and wanted to book a table in advance, but when we phoned we were told they don't take reservations. We arrived and were lucky enough to be seated immediately, but it was quite disappointing to see the table next to us with "reserved" sign after being told that a reservation isn't possible. <br/><br/>We had a few drinks with our food, but the service was really slow and we had to wait quite a long time for our drinks to be served. To eat I had the Mambo pasta with zucchini noodles which tasty, and it was quite a decent serving size. The menu is quite extensive with a large variety of different western foods.

JB's is a great place for some drinks. Their cocktails are delicious and priced well. The food is quite good, I especially enjoy the nibbles and pizza but I wouldn't say it's one of my favourite spots to eat at. Their menu has also evolved and they now have an amazing varsity. <br/><br/>Their brownies are amazing! I believe they used the called Lindt chocolate brownies, I don't know if they've changed the recipe as they still taste the same and they are seriously great.
Jarred Michael Bell
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Joburg and is a great choice for a brwakfast, lunch or dinner venue. The range on the menu is quite extensive and you can choose from a variety of healthy and/or delicious options. I love the quinoa chicken ragu and the slider burgers. This JBs also offers takeaway for collection of you're on the way home and feel like a good bite to eat. Service isn't bad either
GfreeSandi
Met friends for brunch and sat indoors since it was chilly. We were seated away from the noisy main area, which was pleasant and airy. The soy cappuccino is good - I know this because I enjoyed one on arrival and another after my meal! After consulting with our helpful waitress, I ordered a breakfast with gluten-free toast. When my meal arrived, I double checked with the waitress that everything on my plate was safely gluten-free. It wasn't. Be warned that although the menu has gluten-free options, the sausage served with the breakfast is NOT gluten-free. I was very disappointed. ALWAYS check ingredients before tucking into a 'gluten-free' meal.
Yanir Grindler
Unfortunately didn't have a very good experience here. I think a main reason was down to our unfriendly and unhelpful waiter - fortune. More than that the pasta I had was overcooked, the sauce lacked flavour (despite how good it looked on the menu). Also personally feel that the menu is very overpriced. All in all i don't usually give bad reviews but didn't have a very pleasant experience here. Would be reluctant to come by again.
Danielle Jaffit
This is usually my favorite place but ordered my usual take away salad - forgot to chop it, missing tomatoes and corn and sunflower seeds. If you run out of ingredients rather tell people you can't make the salad then do a half, terrible version of it.
Candice-Lee Gow Morgan
Stuffy vibe, always busy and one tends to sit on top of each other.Service, the times we've been, has been lacking and food average. We've never been back.
Kyla Meyerson
JBs is my regular spot. Every single dish you order at JBS is brilliant and you can order just about anything. This is my go to spot for something tasty.
Healthy Heart
Always excellent and has a great variety! Caters to my healthy needs, that's for sure. Try their roasted butternut as a side order and their sushi reloaded is the best!

A great place for after work drinks and a good bite. <br/><br/>Apparently the place to be with electric charging parkings for fancy cars right at its doorstep. <br/><br/>The service is exceptional and staff friendly and efficient. <br/><br/>The sushi is great, sashimi somewhat thin, but good nonetheless. <br/><br/>Vibey & buzzing.

Atmosphere: outdoorsy chill spot, popular in both the winter and summer months. Great location in Melrose Arch for meeting up with friends for a coffee.<br/><br/>Food: Delicious pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and lattes<br/><br/>Service: can get very busy on the weekends. Friendly and efficient staff <br/><br/> <br/><br/><br/><br/>

Jb's corner is a lovely choice of restaurant at Melrose arch. I ordered their chai latte and it was delicious. For food I decided on the chicken and cous cous salad with goat's cheese. It was a lovely combination of ingredients and the portion was nice and big. Was very happy to have leftovers for lunch the next day!

Now apparently this is the place to be. Very busy and very popular in the Melrose arch area. Food is good and good quick service. Can move in and get a bite to if you're in a hurry. Good location to see the fancy cars coming past
Nishela Ramgoolam
The atmosphere at JB's is lively, making it a great meeting place. It’s consistently good and extremely popular and while you may have to wait for a table, they do turn tables relatively quickly. The menu consists of café style food. They also offer a number of low carb options, so there is something for everyone. The food is fresh and full of flavour. Portions are generous. Service is good.

So that was probably the best prawn tempura Iv had. I'll give them that sushi !! I often come to jbs and that was unreal! I sat at the bar; this is where the chef also makes the sushi. The way in which he makes the sushi is so delicate and patiently 👌🏻 the sushi is very pricey here but one platter can fill you up and it's worth it ! 🏋

This place is always packed. During summer, its great to sit outside and watch the energy around you whilst in winter, there's very limited warmth. <br/><br/>Great for coffees, cocktails and pizzas! The nachos are also great!

Always loved this place for its location at Melrose Arch given it's an up market styling for a drink and quick meal occasion. This JBs franchise is run particular well with management taking a personal effort with patrons. You tend to know everyone here if you frequent it enough which makes for a comfortable ambience. <br/>Food is always good and despite being the the American type food, it's quite tasty making it a nice venue for that catch up session with friends or colleagues.
Willem Du Plessis
Simply love this place. Their service is great and friendly. It is hard to find a better eggs benedict than the one they make. Their cappuccinos are definitely some of the best in jhb.

JB's has never failed me. There's nothing to fault about this place. We got there and it was FULL but they assured us 20 minutes and within 20 minutes we were seated and happy!!The food is great 👍🏽, the atmosphere is fantastic 👌🏽 and the service on point!! Took my friends for a meeting/catch up session, it was their first time and they are still asking me when are we going back?! Thank you JB's👏🏽.

This establishment has been around for years. It's consistent and the food has always been tasty. Big portions and good flavor. The service is helpful and attentive. Try the pastas or the tramezzinis. Good coffee too!!

Ate at JB Corner Melrose Arch, the food quality was not as great as the last time I visited, but it's still an awesome restaurant - Ended the meal with this waffle - The picture speaks for itself😍

What awesome pizza's!! <br/>We randomly decided to pop in on a Friday night and found JB's to be warm and the staff super friendly and helpful. <br/>The pizza's arrived so full of toppings, it was a medley of yummy, gooey, messy awesomeness! And our wonderful waiter even thought ahead to fetch loads of extra serviettes for us to use. Thanks for the great service!
Sean Bacher
Great location with a good mixed crowd. A variety of foods are available and the sushi is the best. Really recommended for just a few drinks after work or a proper dinner or lunch.
Kurt Baden Cairns
This place is really starting to grow on me. I always judge a place by its versatile environment. Can you have a quiet romantic dinner here? Yes. Can you have a business meeting here? Yes. Can you get smashed here? Yep!!
Dean Jared Sacher
JBs is situated in a great location <br/><br/>They have increased their prices quite a bit.<br/><br/>I preferred their previous menu before they changed. Not sure if there is new ownership now but I def feel that JBs has changed for the worse.<br/><br/>Used to be a great place to go and eat but now it's purely a decent place to eat
Smelly Celly
Always good service, a good crowd/vibe, good food (great pizza, grain-free salads and chicken breasts) and yummy coffee. I come here often and always leave feeling satisfied. The only downside is that their prices are rather high.
HungryLamb
JB's offers big portions, great food, friendly staff and really fast service. <br/><br/>They've got a 'beach body eating' and an extensive salad section on the menu (you know, for those non-cheat days). And then there's the super creamy pastas and juicy burgers.. They cater to everyone. <br/><br/>Remember to save space for dessert. Their cake selection is magical...

No matter when you go to JB's corner, you're almost sure you will have a great time. I have been many times - breakfasts, dinners, drinks, lunch, and all are fantastic times out. The location and vibe at this JB's corner is just different to the others which is why its my favourite spot at Melrose Arch. Went for breakfast this morning in the cold.... greeted by warm smiles and a warm venue! The waitress was extremely helpful and friendly and my colleagues and I enjoyed out quick breakfast over warm drinks The breakfast was very tasted... as expected...! It was the perfect way to spend some of today :) Will post pics in a bit! Will most definitely be back.

A lovely central place to meet friends, lovely pavement vibe with seating both inside and out, the food and service are superb and it is a highly successful and popular restaurant
Bleedingears
Melrose Arch has a great vibe and JBs is always busy regardless of the time of day. The chicken breasts were good and the service is good overall. If the weather is good it's probably better to sit outside and inside can get noisy.
Junior
Loved the aesthetic of this place, the design was quite memorable. It is advisable to make a reservation or get there early because it does get quite busy. Their pasta and wings are out of this world, be sure to give the Fitzgerald's a try.
Philisiwe Mahlangu
My all time favourite JB's! the vibe, the interior and... yes!- even the corner on which this classy eat-good-feel-good establishment rests on is just perfect. The kungfu platter (sushi) is amazing! is must must try for all. I have converted 4 anti-sushi people into addicts! paired with a granita (sober or alcoholic) this is just what every doctor should prescribe. do try it!
Ian Burrows
Great place for dinner, good portions and good options. Breakfast is very average. I had the egg's Benedict. Couldn't taste the ham at all and the English muffin was the thinnest thing I had ever seen.
Shilan Govender
Lovely day out in jhb and went to Melrose Arch to get some lunch. JBs has a great location (get to see the fancy cars going up and down). I got the mini burgers. They were 3 different types (bbq, bacon and mushroom filled). Each were good but not the best I had. Though they did go well with my vodka and o.j. :) My friends had the caeser salad (very good value for money as you can see in the pic) and the sirloin which both said were pretty good. Overall it's a good place to visit to chill with friends with some kinda good food.
Nkateko Nkuna
This is the closest JB's to me, however I always find myself at the Sandton branch. My brother introduced me to this restaurant a few years ago, he couldn't stop raving about the burgers! Unfortunately I've yet to try a burger at this outlet.<br/><br/>I tried their delicious ribs at Sandton once and subsequently ordered them here on my next visit. I was a little let down, I found the sauce to be a bit on the sweet side, which overpowered the smoky flavour of the ribs. Their pizza's are great, pastas a little lacking but overall the food is usually delicious. Their cocktail menu is a bit limited but the ones they do offer are yum and not short of alcohol lol! What I find to be the biggest let down is their patisserie, when I go to the Sandton outlet (my favourite one as you can now tell), I'm greeted by a gorgeous display of treats and further satisfied by their generous portions. I don't know if it's just my bad luck but there's always a limited selection of cakes at Melrose and their slices are definitely on the smaller side.<br/><br/>Overall the ambience is great especially on a Saturday when it's buzzing from the late afternoon right into the evening, and you can sit outside and watch the rich bring their toys out to play. Or the weekday when you just want a very relaxed but buzzing wind down kind of meal after work.
Vivien Natasen
JB's Corner is a great place to pop in for a quick lunch or Friday/ month end drinks and sundowners. <br/><br/>We were in between meetings in the area and had popped in for a bite. Wifey had a salad and I had the Bifteki. Both were very good. I guess consistency is the key to ensuring regular clientele.
Xoliswa Mdladlamba
Afternoon rain and traffic last night meant the I would be home too late to prepare my own meal but that's just another excuse to eat out. Decided on something very easy and has the 100g burger (code for 200g)lol. with the Early bird additions!! Mmmm mmmm mmmm!! Patty was super moist bite after bite, just enough bacon and mozz super delicious! I regret giving up certain things for Lent because o wanna go back and soon... Service was good I was attended to very well!!
Misha Braude
Haven't ordered for a while due to a decline in the quality of food, but decided to give them another try. The steak was overdone, and the so were the poached eggs. Very disappointed once again!
Dani
Such a delicious restuarant for sushi <br/>Went there yesterday for lunch and had a freezo and the vegetarian sushi platter both were delicious and the presentation was beautiful
Lebohang
Sunday lunch @ Melrose arch was great👌 beautiful environment with a busy trendy bustling vibe. Awesome food & great service too. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.
Santham Naicker
I have visited JB'S many times and tried various dishes and am never disappointed.... this evening I ate the peri peri grilled chicken breast with sweet potatoe, every mouthful was divine.. the carrot cake is the best I've tried so far. Definitely one of those restaurant that can quickly becomes a favourite...
Deedee
I often order take- out from here and love the drive through style pick up . Good food and generous portions . This is why breakfast was somewhat disappointing - I ordered a fruit salad with grain free muesli and yogurt . The muesli was very salty and the portion of fruit salad was not very generous at all! And the americano tasted like a plain filter coffee !So back to Tashas for fruit salad but I'll stick to JB's for their steaks and chicken breasts!
Jo Tonks Bishop
Had an amazing lunch with fantastic service. When my steak was a little less than rare our waiter insisted on taking it back and bringing me a rare steak which was then perfect and delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their calamari and we had a great time!
Nicci Scott
Shocking response from management as we all got wet from their poorly maintained outdoor umbrellas. Our meal was ruined and not so much as an apology
Clayman
Came to JB's. They weren't very busy. Waited for someone to attend to me. Got pointed to sit at a table that was dirty then got neglected for 15 mins waiting for someone to take my drinks order. Would rate them 0/5 if I could. Disgusting service. Will never return<br/>Edit : tried JB's a few months later and had the most terrible sushi ever there. Rice was undercooked and everything else generally underwhelming.
Michelle McCarter
We enjoyed our lunch here. The Greek Goddess Burger is delicious. The price for a glass of orange juice at R39 is very expensive. Our waitress was friendly and did a great job.
Natasha Lutz
Came here for lunch. As usual the food was excellent and the portions huge. Waitress was friendly and the food of a very high standard. Point taken off because of the supposed manager who greater us and we had to insist on a table outside. Don't be fooled they reserve tables for usual guests so we had to insist on getting a table outside and said we will wait rather, only then they suddenly found two tables for us from the 5 that had reserved signs on
Cimone Jae
It took me about 30 minutes to decide what I wanted to eat. The menu is extensive and really caters for every type of neo dietary re-invention strategy. Fit mums and sons are all over the show, also a guy dressed in a suit with a high tech vapouriser on his table. I like it.
Nikita Daya
One of the great restaurants at Melrose. The food is great esp the pesto pasta . Service is good , although you're likely to be given more attention if you're sitting indoors. The gourmet milkshakes are incredible.
Jaynisha Patel
This is a great spot for us to visit as a family because the menu offers a decent number of vegetarian options. Last night we were a large table of 12 but were accommodated quickly enough. The service was okay but not memorable. The wine list was decent. Of note was the nutella milkshake. <br/><br/>To start we had halloumi fingers, sweet potatoes crispy skins and avo maki. The first two were yum and the dips served with both were standard but went well with the dish. The maki was generally found to be average. For mains, I had the black mushroom pasta which was a favourite on our table. The portion was really large but I guess that made it worth the price. I really enjoyed the pasta. A couple of people ordered sandwiches and pizza which they said were good. What was nice was that they allowed us to order off the breakfast menu which some people did, however not all the dishes could be prepared by the evening chefs. <br/><br/>We had a good dining experience as a large table. Everyone was well taken care of and enjoyed their food. It is a pity we were too full for dessert but I usually enjoy the Lindt chocolate brownie.
Nicola Fox
Spontaneous little date night with the boyfriend and JBS was just the best 👍 We stopper for dessert and coffee and it was more than a pleasant experience. Cakes were still lovely and moist even it was after 10 in the evening and then service was quick and friendly. :)

Out of the many times I've been here, the food has always been above average. They do a great burger, steak, and salads. On this occasion my partner and I tried something new on the menu - a chicken and mushroom ragu with quinoa and a tuna ragu with zucchini noodles. Both were very disappointing. Both dishes were drenched in a very bland napolitana sauce which seemed watered down. The mushrooms were undercooked. The tuna ragu on the menu read "tuna chunks" but what I got was tuna from a can in tasteless tomato sauce. Manager was understanding but am not sure if the message will be sent back to the chef. It was one of the very few times my partner did not finish his food. Highly disappointed.
Cassi Ozen
Been here numerous times since they opened. Tried many different items on the menu. Definitely recommend their breakfasts! My absolute favourite on the menu is the haloumi and roast vegetable sandwich! They have an excellent variety of salads and healthier options available. Portion sizes are super generous!
Imtiaz Ahmad
Lovely location in one of the most lively places. The place is busy often, even till late. The food is good, and service is prompt. I liked their homemade cakes.
The Big Mouth
JB's caters for absolutely everyone! I find it amazing how this restaurant has such a wide selection of dishes and manages to deliver every single one with perfection almost every time.<br/><br/>I have rated their burger as one of the best in South Africa for a long time now and every time I have it, it manages to maintain that quality and remain highly rated in my books.<br/><br/>When you are trying to be a little healthier, the salad options are vast and the portions are massive so whether you are going for a heavy main meal or a salad, you will not leave this place feeling hungry or unsatisfied.
KaySoo Mosopa
Went here for a few drinks after work but we ended up getting pizza (& other delicious snacks) The vibe is so great you literally don't want to go anywhere. A definite "pick-me-up" restaurant for afternoon drinks... & snacks!!! 🍷
Elize Burger
I work in Melrose Arch so we had lunch there a few days ago. Their salads and red cuppucinos are great, but the service is very slow... We had to ask for our waiter a few times and we had to wait almost 10min just to get the bill. Because of the slow service it's not possible to have lunch there seeing that lunch will take a lot longer than an hour lunch break. But except for the service, the salad was AMAZING.
Matthew Kanniah
One of the pinnacle corners of Melrose Arch is JB's corner, a place where businessmen can do business over coffee, friends can catch up over a snack or brunch and a place people can go to where good food can be served. The quality of JBs can only be described as an upper class gourmet food venue. All the tricks and treats you want just made with a bit more of a premium touch. <br/><br/>For my stay I had a Nutella Waffle with ice cream and I basically died and went to heaven. It was a sweet tooths delight! My fellow foodie has a chocolate gourmet milkshake and was taken to another planet. The deserts and treats were so good it can be had as a meal. It's super filling!<br/><br/>The service was decent and the vibe was great, so for a good night out complimented with gourmet food and dessert America style, head over to JBs Melrose Arch!
Andrea Altgayer
I went there for dinner 3 weeks ago. I ordered the Combo sushi platter and although it looked measly, it was so filling  that I didn't have any room for breakfast! It was absolutely divine and I will definitely order it again! The strawberry daiquiri that I ordered was also delicious.Service was fast and friendly despite the fact that it was full. I've also had their salmon salad before and it is heavenly! I will definitely pop in again soon!
Top Foodie
Although this is a very nice restaurant, with average food with a twist and reasonable prices, it is not my favourite in Melrose Arch.  However, it is the ideal restaurant to visit for a lunch, or a rugby evening, and it is always busy.  The food is well-prepared, fresh, and I like their variety of fries.
Akira Ramraj
A lovely place to have lunch at. I enjoyed their food, it did however arrive cold. The ambiance is really nice. The service was slightly slow but other than that it's a cool place to go to.
Robyn Mulligan
R65.00 for a toasted chicken mayo is outrageous!!! It is served with a handful of crisps and that is it. What in the world is so expensive? The rent?
Paula Baetu
Used to love JBs more than I do now. I will always go back for their salads but... I think their pricing has become ridiculous. I mean for what you get I am not always satisfied with paying the exorbitant amounts they charge.
John
I have eaten at this establishment on a number of occasions and each time I have found it excellent in all respects food , service and decor . The menu is trendy and relevant the atmosphere is one of the greatest features of this restaurant . Average prise R 170 per head .
Inge Nefdt
Fantastic vibe on a Friday✔️ Attentive manager ✔️ Fresh Sushi ✔️ <br/><br/>We ordered the Deep Fried Roll and the Shrimp Tempura and it was worth every cent ;)
Carol Ceecee Phakade
This place is amazing I really wonder why I always pass here the food is so yummy and the customer service is great and I'm actually enjoying the rugby game as I dine 😋 too lovely tuner and brown rice
Nicky Godwin
We had a quick family dinner. Excellent service , good wine list and great food. The menu is huge with lots of options for vegetarians and Banters. Will definitely be going back. Kids loved sitting near the road watching all the flashy cars passing!

Whether I'm stopping by for a breakfast on the run, meeting up with a friend for a lovely lunch in the sun, or meeting my entire extended family for a large last-minute dinner, JB's is the one place where I know that I am guaranteed to be treated well. Their food is always excellent and they're always more than happy to cater to special dietary needs or create special orders for myself and my friends or family based on whatever we happen to be craving. The ambiance is always good, and whether seated indoors or outdoors (where their heaters will keep you warm all night), it is always an enjoyable experience. My only issue would be that the waiters are sometimes unprepared when it comes to handling a large table. Other than that, well worth a visit.
Jade Roberts
Having visited this JB's a good few times, I've never had a bad meal. Their prices are competitive and their portions pretty decent. The waiting staff have also always been rather good, with nothing to complain about on that end either. <br/><br/>Their decor is great. I love the vintage collection of nik naks including a typewriter on display and an Uncle Sam "we want you" chair too. At night, the fairy lights make for a pretty setting, and couple that with a few cocktails and sushi, and you're in for a very pleasant evening. <br/><br/>On this occasion though, breakfast was the order of the day, and with a cool breeze blowing, freshly squeezed juices (R39 each), yummy breakfast (Eggs Benedict – R75 & Poached Egg on Rye with Avo and Mushroom – R42) and hot drinks (Cappo & a Café Latte, both R24 each) to end off with, it was a great experience all round. <br/><br/>Do also try out one of their cakes, that rainbow one, amazing!
Sharima Bramannan
Went to JBs tonight to watch the rugby. Perfect view of the screen. The manager was very happy to move our table so we could get a better view. Had the nachos which were very good...nice and cheesy. Then the brownies which were divine👌🏽
Jill Okkers
A firm favorite in and around Johannesburg. <br/>We went for sushi and cocktails and were not disappointed. Sitting under the summer night sky, decked out with fairy lights, the Melrose Arch location is bustling, and brings to mind an almost European setting. <br/>The sushi was fresh and came out of the kitchen in no time at all, the cocktails, as good as cocktails can be. Rose, our waiter, was super friendly and efficient and was around all the time without being intrusive. <br/>Always fun!
Rob Dennison
Possibly my worst breakfast out in years. Well meaning but clueless staff. Mixed up coffee orders. Cold over cooked scrambled eggs, delayed toast. Most unsatisfactory. When leaving I gave the waiter my number and invited someone to call and pursued me not to write this review. Alas no call.
Linda Meyer
JB's is not what it was in the early days when it started. The quality of food and service standards are really hit and miss.
Courtney StarBerry
JB's Corner at Melrose Rose is another place we have been visiting since 2012 and while I know we will always come to this restaurant when there is a birthday or special occasion I am not overly excited by this.<br/>I have always loved the decor and the casual ambiance of this restaurant but during our last visit it just seemed a little washed out and I don't love what they have done with the dessert/cake section.  <br/>The food is good and usually very tasty but very expensive for what you get. I had the Sweet Chicken pizza and while it was tasty it was definately not worth R95-00. Back in 2012 JB's Corner still had cheesy fries (fries, mozzarella, cheddar and bacon) on the menu and we have still be ordering it even though it is no longer on the menu, at our most recent visit I asked the waiter for cheesy fries and he argued with me for about five three minutes that he would bring me nachos even though I asked him to please just ask the kitchen if they would mind making the cheesy fries. I found this a little upsetting as the staff are usually so friendly and accommodating. We did eventually get the cheesy fries but were charged for nachos. <br/>The cake selection is a real treat and I love the rainbow cake, lately they have mostly had cheese cakes (four out of eight cakes). The chocolate cake is also good but if you see the rainbow cake definately try it out if you have a sweet tooth. <br/>While you don't get candy with the bill you can request your wait/waitress to bring you candy such as suckers and sour bombs from the beautiful, large glass jars near the front of the restaurant. These continue to be one of the reasons I keep returning.
Michelle
Massive fan of their Red velvet cake above all! Wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Had dinner with my friends and would definitely recommend it to others.
Kgadi
Thank you for making our stay an awesome one! We had great food and good service!!! We really enjoyed ourselves and loved the atmosphere and vibe of the place
NommieNoms
Love love love the decor, service is a bit slow but good. Had the 200g beef patty burger....prepared bowl style on a bed of cauliflower rice instead of having a bun. The patty meat was of good quality but the taste was bland. Also ordered their hot wings sent them back to be crisped up some more... They came back perfect
Maria Kalymnios
Absolutely love this spot! The vibe is fantastic. Was super impressed with the menu and all the vegan friendly options. Great service, lovely food, huge portions. Thoroughly satisfied!
Nikki Alice
JB's Corner has become a tradition for a bunch of the varsity girls and we use almost anything as an excuse to go there. Our most commonly used reason is birthday lunches and nothing else compares. We have been going to this particular branch since 2012, and its only gotten better. The restaurant is always busy, we've never seen what a quiet day looks like. But that has never affected the service that we have received from the staff, they are friendly and efficient and we've always gotten the best candy when paying our bill. The glass vase full of lollypops is a big draw card for all the girls, along with the very scrumptious selection of cakes. If the branch has their "rainbow cake", it's a must have. The menu has a very wide selection of healthier options and dieting friendly meals. I know we will definitely be back, again and again.
Cecilia
Oh my word came here for my birthday and it was absolutely fantastic.. the moment we walked in the friendliness and the warmth of the staff was overwhelming. Food amazing!! atmosphere is cool and great for a night out with friends. Most important was the drinks which were amazing.. you get your monies worth I totally recommend it
Georgina Katz
Service was on top form today. I was a bit disappointed with my order today. The butternut side that came with the grilled calamari was literally just butter and possibly a small bit of butternut that had been mixed in with it. The calamari was cooked very well but it fell short on the spices- it was just way too salty and over spiced for my liking! I squeezed a bit of lemon on the dish and it seemed to neutralise the extreme saltiness a bit so all was not lost!
Bianca Schulz
Are we in Europe or Joburg? Absolutely love everything about this place! From the delicious menu, that supplies a health foodie with all the goodness she needs in her life, to the European vibe and set up. It is always buzzing with people yet the service is quick and friendly. The Paw Paw Boat made me so excited and happy that I forgot to take a photo of it and dove right in. JBs caters for all food and health lovers 🐞🌺

Location (5/5) , Ambience (4/5) , Food(5/5) , Service (5/5)<br/><br/>Melrose Arch is an amazing place with multiple choices of great restaurants. Loved JB's for its food, service and the attitude of its staff. One of the best Salmon I've had anywhere in the world. Can't beleive myself having the same dish for 3 nights in a row. Good work guys, keep it up
Lauren Frade
When I think JB's corner, I think burgers. The best burgers! And until my most recent meal there I have only ever chosen the burgers. This time I chose the chicken and mushroom ragu with zucchini noodles. I have to say JB's corner is no longer a burger place for me it's an everything place! I in no way felt as though I was eating a healthy meal, it was delicious!! I would recommend the burgers any day as well as anything with the zucchini noodles if you are looking to be body conscious but want to satisfy that pasta craving. The salads are also elaborate and fantastical such that even a burger lover like myself would buy one from JB's. Service is of course always top notch and it really excited me getting a lollipop after the bill. It's the little things.
Zoe Hawkins
Excellent, quick and friendly service combined with a vast and delicious menu make this a great place for casual meetings or nice meals with friends. Highly recommend the Oreo milkshake and the sweet potato dippers.
MJ
Mushroom burger is divine! Lindt chocolate brownie also fabulous. Good service, good prices, good vibe, nothing but good feedback from me. Nice placement near other restaurants, feels slightly European if you sit outside
JR
The best of the JB's franchises. While identical menu to Sandton, the service is on a different level. Managements/staff exceptionally friendly and know how to look after loyal customers. <br/><br/>Diverse menu offering a range of options catering to all needs. Great for all meals of the day. Salads would have the be some of the best in the city. Blondie for breakfast is an absolute winner.
Travis
This restaurant is very popular and often full on weekends. Great place to sit outdoors in summer. The menu offers a wide selection of good foods. The service is quick and friendly.
Thirusha Reddy
What I love most about the JB's franchise is their consistency. I've been to both the Melrose Arch and Sandton City branches on countless occasions and I've never had a bad meal. Their menu is extensive and caters for every dietary requirement imaginable, which I greatly appreciate. They also serve brilliant cocktails, the Melrose Arch branch in particular is a great spot to unwind after work.
Michelle Levy
This has a wonderful atmosphere and it's a great place to go for a casual and healthy meal. Their menu has so much choice, something for everyone. Their salads are really delicious. My favourite is the sticky chicken salad. Filled with delicious veggies, nuts and sunflower seeds. You have to try their chopped up version (be sure to ask), it's much nicer as everything is mixed better and you don't just get lettuce. My BFs favourite is the Fillet on French. I've actually never had a bad meal and the portions are very generous. They also have this 'No Cheese' pizza which sounds odd but trust me it's actually delicious and a very healthy option. It's so packed with a generous amount of veggies that you don't even notice the cheese is missing, its called The Blues. Service is also good even when its really busy they seem to have everything under control.<br/>Went there the other night and had sushi, I found it a bit over priced and actually rolls small.<br/>My one friend substituted baby narrow in place of pasta which I didn't know you could do, she really enjoyed it and it's much healthier than pasta. You can have it with any type of sauce.
Rachel Bright
Great food and service even when it's busy. The only let down was that the starter was brought out with the main meals, however maybe this was our own fault as we just assumed the starter would come out first. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
Ieatjozi
JB's has been an old friend of mine, but it was a first at the Melrose Arch one. I expected a bit more from this one, but the service was a bit poor. The food was still as amazing as JB's known for, but it took a bit long to get to us. The waiter took forever to take our drinks order, even though the place wasn't as full. I guess it was the Monday blues. However, I'll definitely go back because their food is just that good.
TheJoburgFoodie
JB's is consistently good across the board which is super impressive for a restaurant that is as busy as they are. The service is aways fantastic & we've never had to wait too long for a meal. Their menu has a wide range of options and there's bound to be something for everyone. We love their breakfasts - especially the eggs benedict - and the burgers which can be enjoyed with a variety of delicious sauces. Their freezos are also fantastic.
Lynzi Bee
JB's Corner is the go-to restaurant for any occasion at any meal time. The menu has a wide variety of healthy options, the portions are huge, everyone can find something to their liking and they are very reasonably priced. Management is organized but service is not attentive at all. It has a cool vibe mostly due to its prime location.
Matthew Alford
Well established venue in Melrose Arch that is definitely a great spot to enjoy a Friday evening dinner. <br/><br/>We had the Sweet Potato & Chicken dish from the "Beach Body" section of the menu - very tasty but way too big a portion to help with any plans for a beach body! (Suggestion: maybe better to be served as small tato wedges?) <br/><br/>To get over the guilt we enjoyed the Peanut & Chocolate Cheescake - SPECTACULAR! If i had to pick, id definitely choose this one over Sandton..they get the sushi so right..as well as the amazing rainbow cake 😋😋😋😋 i also love having the Fitzgeralds, its hearty, rich and delicious..also looove having the T-bone on a hungry day, with some mushroom sauce, overall this is my pick ☺️
Jozi Poppy
A favourite for years! Great to sit inside or outside, you can view all the happenings of Melrose Arch. Have to try their Lindt chocolate brownies. Also have an impressive tea selection. Great place for meeting up with friends or celebrating, any time of the day, the vibe is always good.
Helga De Vasconcelos Sarria
One of the top restaurants in SA, have been going for years , always exceptional food and service , their salads are outstanding , no other restaurant can vaguely compete with the salads, but nevertheless all the other food is excellent , pasta , burgers pizzas etc
Tshepi M
The food is amazing from breakfast to dinner. The waiters are friendly. The portions are very generous sometimes even overwhelming. There a lot of items to choose from. The sushi is great especially with their secret sauce. The bar menu is impressive. The dessert are a must try. This is where I always am when in doubt because I have never been disappointed. They remember their regulars which is an added benefit.
Tony Pearce
In my opinion this is the best JB's Corner in the country , always top class service, amazing food which will satisfy everyone craving from food to cakes and everything in-between and always busy with great vibes
Divine Rakau
We went to Soweto for a concert and we slept at the Protea hotel unfortunately we slept in and missed the continental breakfast so we ended roaming around looking for a place to it, we landed at jb's corner. They have a delightful breakfast menu and the atmosphere is really chilled for breakfast. The service was also good
JR
MUCH better than the Sandton JB's. <br/>Great cocktails, service isn't bad either. Food was great and desserts looked awesome but we were too full to try unfortunately.

I can't deny it!!! My love for this specific location is true... From the amazing service, to the yummy treats! I think I'm in love 😍😍😍! Every time I visit this location I receive a warm welcome and a drink menu (just the way I like it)! The staff are lovely! And no matter what I indulge in, from a burger to sushi, it's always done to perfection! I love it. My tummy is always satisfied when I dine here. Highly recommended!
Jessica-Mary Kuzlo
Always a pleasant experience. The food is consistently great, the service is efficient and the staff are always friendly and willing to assist!
Karin Victor
Great for brunching 😊 had a lovely brunch with a friend here over the weekend. Loving the Melrose arch vibe, and JB's isn't too close to the piazza (where ALL the other food places are) so it's in a nice quiet part- if you're looking for that at Melrose, JB's corner is the place. Also really appreciated the décor, and overall style of the place. Solid 4 out of 5
Janice Kelvin Leibowitz
I'd love to give JB's a higher rating. The food is great, no matter what you order off their extremely varied menu (including many healthy options). The managers are always accommodating and friendly. It's got a great vibe and the perfect location. But the last couple of times I've been there the service has been really slow which does detract from all the positive points. Add to that my pet hate: lots of staff just hanging around, not doing much and avoiding eye contact with diners, and the rating lowers. Also, another thing I can't stand: a waitress who isn't around much but manages to present your bill almost as soon as you request it!! Can't stand that!!
Thys Geldenhuys
JB has some good food. They offer a wide variety. It's close to the gym and actually very good for some healthy eating too. It is a bit noisy if you sit inside though. Overall good place for regular dining.
Heena Ramjee
This is my resident carrot cake and cocktails joint on Sundays. <br/>Hmm besides that, brownies are gpooooooood!! <br/><br/>I haven't been here in a while, will definitely be visiting soon!
Zara Abdulla
I love this spot. The atmosphere is always lively, no matter which day of the week. They have such a great selection of salads, sandwiches and now a health menu as well! I have tried many different dishes and have yet to be disappointed, since they've opened. It's a good, casual restaurant with something for everyone.
Neelaм
A Bit pricey but consistent good food at both the Sandton and Melrose Arch branches. I've noticed that portion sizes are larger at lunch than supper, although in general portions are quite large
Philip Goosen
If you are in the mood for some good old fashion burger and chips, look no further. Great burger joint overlooking the streets of melrose arch. Lively atmosphere and friendly staff.
The Food Musketeer
Today i had brunch with a friend at this branch. I am use to the sandton city one which i kinda have a liking towards. <br/><br/>Inside this one seemed a bit cramped to me. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, but unfortunately she misinterpreted some of our requests when ordering our meal... but it wasnt a train smash. <br/><br/>The cappuccino was nice and not too strong... my eggs benedict wasnt bad just my eggs were slightly too runny. But still had a good taste. I do like where its situated and might give it another try.
Jackie De Boer
I went with my friend visiting from Australia to this beautiful venue and I must say I was highly impressed as was she. Our waitress Nokz was so helpful and gave incredible service despite the restaurant being so busy. The food was amazing and their sushi is spectacular and well priced like the rest of their menu. Definitely a must go for all Joburger's.
Michelle Lee Pieterse
Best burgers in Johannesburg never been disappointed! Many different types of dishes to choose from. Alot of vegetarian options. Stunning cakes and devine milkshakes
Tshego Makoe
I really like JB's Corner , they make amazing food and the money is well worth it. What ever you order here will taste great. What keeps me coming back are their red cappuccinos and their crispy fries-they're just out of this world.
SianWhitney
Brilliant cheese burger. Never ordered anything else because it's so good! And the salt caramel peanut milkshake. The service is also so friendly and it's fast becoming a favourite quick mid-week dinner.
Manika Harduth
I would absolutely say that thee best brownie I have ever had , Hands down has got to be from JB's ... Enjoyed a sunday lunch at JB's , the service and staff was good . Enjoyed the food , will go back for the Brownies !!!
Christine M
JB's Corner is one of those restaurants which is unlikely to ever let you down. My first time at JB's Corner was nearly 10 years ago - a recent trip suggests that it remains a good choice if you are in the area. We went for breakfast on a Sunday. The restaurant itself was quite quiet outside but had a nice atmosphere indoors. The staff were attentive. The decor is trendy but relaxed. The food was pretty good but nothing too exciting. We had an omelette which was nice, but could have certainly been tastier and a diner breakfast which certainly lived up to its diner name as it came with a burger, chips and onion rings as well as eggs and bacon, all deconstructed (go hungry)!
Maimoona Sheila Omuabor
I love this restaurant, they definitely need a bigger space. Always busy and full, irs understandable cause the food is delucious portions are very good and not forgetting the dessert, awesome. Higly recommended.
Jacqueline Koch
Came here for breakfast. A large and very diverse breakfast menu with plenty of healthy options - my kind of breakfast menu. Portion sizes are VERY generous. We were there fairly early so it wasn't too busy, but seems like a nice relaxed vibe. Service was efficient. We sat outside since it was warm enough to do so, but I did note that they they have outdoor heaters for winter.
Chris Ballie Yannakakis
Great venue. Nice outside area. I had the lamb burger which I thought was fantastic. Fries are nice and crispy. Service was a little delayed which is due to the large size of the restaurant. Always a good experience and will be going back for sure. ?
Chrissy P
Nice ambiance. Good brownie dessert. Wings were good, sushi was good. Waitresses were nice. Prices are on the expensive side but comparable to the other restaurants in the area. Went here twice and would def go back
Rich Torlage
The burgers and sushi platters are so good! Tasted both he skinny fries and the sweet potatoes fries and they were great. Took a while for the food to come, otherwise it was a relaxed Sunday lunch.
Michael Lotter
Great place to meet for coffee, excellent locations, good decor, awesome lunch menu, but chairs are uncomfortable, road very noisy, waiters are slow...
David Greenway
JB's is the perfect average of a restaurant, catering for all tastes and none at the same time with dishes that are neither excellent nor poor. Even the service fluctuates between sub pay and above average, nothing more, nothing less. It's a non-offensive choice for a dinner. <br/><br/>This time around I had a T-bone steak which was above average although the stir fry side was well below. <br/><br/>The best way to be satisfied with your JB's experience is to expect nothing more than the most average near and hi9e for something a bit above that.
Lauras World
JB's Corner in Melrose Arch has a very casual ambience, and a large menu with lots of variety. It gets very busy on the weekends but the service is still quick and friendly. I have only popped in for a coffee and quick bite so far, but I found their portions very generous and tasty! As a result, I will make a point of updating this review on my next visit!
Balungile
I really like this JB's Corner. The service was great and timely, and the waiters were really friendly and open. The location is also pretty shweet. <br/><br/>I had the prawn tempura to start with, which was pretty tasty. For the main course, I had the thai-style rump stir-fry with chilli, garlic, roasted cashew nuts, you get the drift… served with yellow rice. The portion was massive so I had to take some home. <br/><br/>Prices are reasonable considering the food and the atmosphere. I'd definitely like to visit again.
Sharon Mj Manyike
Love love love the sweet potato fries, they are different & absolutely delicious. They are very generous with their portions, huge, value for money. I know people go to JB's for their salads because they have such a variety but try the Ribs, you wont regret it, they are the best... My favourite salad is the Brown Rice, chicken & broccoli salad, too delicious.
Hana
Really enjoy this restaurant. It has a nice vibe to it but you will have to book especially on weekends. Only eaten here twice and both times I had the steak. Delicious and cooked to order. Will definitely be back when I remember to book in time.
Andile Coffy Magiba
The glory that is Jbs corner Melrose.....food , drinks, ambience and service 10/10 , these guys have mastered the art of being restauranteurs!!!
Lavinia Juanita Lazarus
As a loyal patron it's with great regret I have to post this review... We had lunch there on Sunday. I ordered the prawn fettuccine pasta. The pasta was undercooked, the entire dish lacked seasoning and worst of all the prawns were frozen prawns which were like mush in the dish. Absolutely terrible! I have been sick since Sunday evening. I'm no chef but I know good food and quality ingredients. Gordon Ramsey emphasizes fresh seafood!
Reneè K
Now this is the place to have lunch when catching up with an old friend. The vibe...service and food are conversation friendly...could sit there form lunch to sundowners and just enjoyed every moment...going back to catch up with more friends.
Alexis Assimacopoulos
Another wonderful staple for me and the family to go to- seriously if my parents could have shares in this place they would! The only reason it isn't 5/5 is the service lately has been lacking...maybe new management or poor training for the new guys...? Something for them to consider
TheOne
Even though it's a chain, but really guys - what isn't a chain in SA these days... I digress. It's one of my favourite places to have a chilled Friday night chow on the square. Good food, generous portions and and a did I mention a view of the square?
Wendi Kark
Nice new healthy options on the menu. Really good poached eggs and staff that are awesome. Management is very hands on and it shows! Lots of variety on the menu.
Nazira Hoosen
Lovely atmosphere, good service, veg stir fry was a good sized portion 2 people can share. It was tasty but not necessarily something that I would HAVE to order again. Virgin Mojito was good.
Jozie Foodie
This Jbs is nice. They make really good cakes. It's great to go here for dinner, lunch or coffee. There is a nice ambiance. It's always busy here.
Bradley Streak
JBs corner has a great vibe and is usually quite busy, for good reason of course! <br/><br/>My girlfriend swears by their strawberry daiquiris! <br/>And me? The burgers and the pizzas and yes the salads. Probably the best salads I've ever had!<br/><br/>When we can't decide on a new place to try out we head back to JBs!
Gillian Declercq
The food and the coffee is generally very good but today when we visited we had to send something back as it was an incorrect order. Ordinarily that is not a problem but when the manager stopped by the table and proceeded to tell me that my order was indeed correct, that I was mistaken and that I should take the food I had sent back and eat it, I was upset to say the least. What happened to 'the customer is always right'? I found the Manager to be very rude, and seemed to take my complaint personally!? <br/><br/>On the whole I am a regular customer and am generally very happy with the food and service.
JC
Had a quick dinner at JBs last night. Place was very busy but found a table and service was prompt. Really enjoyed the selection of craft beers. Had a chicken ceasar salad, which was fantastic and a forest salad which was a little bland. Overall got what we paid for and will be back!

*** Late Review *** September Review<br/><br/>Grabbed a take away pizza and salad from their awesome drive through service! Can't rave more how awesome the convenience was. Because this was a take-away  though the pizza would be cold but i was completely wrong. Pizza was hot, fresh and tasty by the time i got home. Well done to the waitress who greeted me so nicely as I collected my order :)
St. John Leech
If you want one of the best salads around, you have to try JB'S. Their salad are amazing and great value for money. Two of my favourites are the Creole & Chicken Schnitzel salads
Bhavesh
Food has been good at every visit. The Prego chicken burger is delicious, simple and tender. Sweet potato crisps are an amazing alternative to the usual French fries.
Minkys
This is not my favourite restaurant but if I feel like a nice freezochino or cup of tea I'll head to JB's. Perhaps the only thing I love on their menu is their french toast with nutella. The rest is nothing special and I'm yet to have an above-average meal there.
Michelle
The food is really good. They have an extensive menu which usually worries me because I always wonder how they can keep everything fresh. But it is my second time back here this week! I had the grilled chicken breasts with peri peri sauce and a salad, it was delicious. My partner had the American burger which he rates as one of the top 2 burgers he has had in jhb! <br/>Service is pretty good, but the restaurant is very loud - the only complaint I can find!
Mandisa
Awesome place. great location, great food!! wonderful location. Staff are helpful. <br/><br/>Nice for an evening night out with friends. Gets very rowdy and loud as the evening progresses. Lots of mates hanging out here, catching up.
Michelle Papavarnavas
Amazing
Sarisha Sankar
JB's is consistently good and always a wnner with everyone. Their front of house manager that's there during the week days could be a little more friendly, but other than that, I have no complaints. They are pricey, but the portions are quite large and we always have leftovers.
Byron Anthony Morris
Nice breakfast spot!
Gary Greenberg
Consistantly good meals at relatively high prices but definately worth trying. This place is very good for couples, family, friends, functions, and business meetings. It is not child friendly to a large extent as this is not their target market. However, there are some good meals for children.<br/><br/>There is a wide variety of food available at both their branches and all round their service is average and to re-iterate quality of the food is quite good. I would think it may be a good idea to shrink the menu as there is a bit too much to offer and impress. <br/><br/>If you a vegetarian, there could be a little more choice. I would recommend trying the mushroom pasta by substituting the starch with quinoa. This is currently one of my favourite meals. The stir fry I find could be improved as I feel it lacks that extra layer of flavour. The portian sizes for mains are better than most restaurants and the service standard could improve as you sometimes do feel neglected. From my understanding, the burgers and chocolate browies are still one of the best in town so it is worth giving them a try. Don't forget to have the colslaw on the side as this is a nice touch.<br/><br/>Please note that they do not take any bookings here so you can just rock up and get a table when they are not busy.
Da Moase
Service excellent. cosy atmosphere. we had sushi which was good, but not extraordinary. definitely will go there again and try their burgers, they looked really lekker!
Micaela Lo Russo
I went to JB's corner on Saturday morning, I loved the vibe of the restaurant, not like your usual décor, it has a cute wall that looks like a bookshelf, I LOVED that, the decorations are corky, different but at the same time inviting, <br/><br/>I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and it was the best eggs benedict I've ever tasted, the hollandaise sauce is out of this world, definitely a must if you pop by for breakfast <br/><br/>The Service was slow, but they were busy for a Saturday morning, <br/><br/>I will be eating here again, next time I will be trying out the burgers!!<br/><br/><br/>
James Hornbill
Service was poor, pizza is good but not my first choice in Melrose arch. Great for afternoon drinks.
Invalidusername
Reasonably priced (with a few exceptions). High quality food, great staff. Good lunch spot for during the week. Burgers are top notch
Tanja Horn
Always good quality food, large portions and reasonably priced for the amount of food you do get - which I can never finish. It's great for a lunch when you are at Melrose Arch and you always know what you get and what to expect which to me is very important quality in a restaurant.
Amy Rusike
Love this place for lunch, even in Winter. The decor is chic and the service amazing. Love the pizza's and salads! Awesome chilled vibe at the Arch.
Natalie Katz
This is my favourite JB's. The setting is beautiful, the staff are lovely and the food is reasonably priced; and you have the option of sitting inside or outside which is always great. However, when they are busy, which they are most of the time, the service can be a bit slow, but if you have good company, who cares. <br/><br/>The menu is extremely diverse which in most cases puts me off, but having tried a lot of their food I was pleasantly surprised. I haven't had their pizzas or pastas before, but their sticky chicken, avo, sun-dried tomato and feta tramezzini is delicious. <br/><br/>BUT... the main reason why I wanted to review JB’s is because of their burgers! Without a doubt they are the best in Joburg! I usually choose the cheese burger with a BBQ option, which comes with amazing basting and caramelized onions. I really suggest you go there and have one. <br/><br/>They offer 2 different sizes, the wow and the baby wow. The wow comes with a 200 g burger, chips and an extra side- I usually order the salad or the stir-fried veggies. However, the baby wow is perfect for a girl’s smaller tummy ;) <br/><br/>Their salads are also delicious, but they are huge! I usually share with someone or take it for lunch the next day! My favourite salad is the Creole Chicken Salad. The sweet soya glaze is so very yummy- asked for it chopped! <br/><br/>If you haven't been there yet, go this weekend, you won't regret it!
Connie Perumal
Great vibe and centrally located. Love the Prego rolls
Richard Best
The location is trendy, but the outside seating is on a slope which isn't pleasant, and R110 for a very small average tasting burger a coke and the tip just seems a bit silly.
Dean Gatinho
Peanut butter chicken burger? It is actually pretty good, a bit sweet but overall enjoyable. The slim sweet potato chips are very tasty. <br/>Great mango juice too.
Justin Doshi
Melrose Arch is awesome at night, especially on the weekends. Lots of restaurants, lots of people, lots of energy. JB's corner is a great option for a bite. They have beautiful outdoor seating, a very extensive food and drinks menu. I went with the vegetable stir fry and wasn't disappointed. Large quantities, decent pricing. My colleague went with the chicken salad, he wasn't disappointed. They also have fresh juice... I love my apple juice.
Jason Campbell
One of the best burgers around.<br/>They also make a good breakfast.<br/>The service is also always good.<br/>This is a really good place for breakfast and lunch.
Palesa
Lovely, relaxing afternoon spent here with my bestie :)<br/>Food was amazing!<br/><br/>Two thumbs up!!
Joe Roussos
Decent for drinks, but have had two bad experiences with food: a caterpillar in a salad, and a piece of sharp plastic in a salmon carpaccio.
Aliaksandra
The JB's in Melrose Arch is usually extremely busy. But if you do manage to get a table, it's a great lunch spot. <br/>The salads are fantastic (but huge, so get the half portion), and the Freezos are great too. <br/><br/>The service here is a bit sluggish, but I suppose it's because they are very busy most of the time. <br/><br/>I love that they have a "Healthier" section in their menu. Allows you to choose something with less carbs, which is always great. <br/><br/>For more reviews, check out: http://lexieats.tk/

With out doubt my favorite JB's ! Always an awesome party like vibe at Melrose Arch ! Service is ok thought when busy it can deteriorate ! Menu has a huge variety ! So ideal for people with different tastes ! I had the awesome PeriPeri Chicken burger ! Go for the more expensive option which comes with 2 chicken breasts ,lovely coleslaw and a side of your choice ! Personally i love the sweet potatoe fries ! Thin & crispy just the way to enjoy it ! For dessert nothing "used" to come close to the Lindt chocolate brownies ! Unfortunately over time the brownies have shrunk with the price rocketing ! & not worth the money anymore!! Shakes however are awesome ! Still a great place to chill out for a lazy lunch or casual laid back supper !
Stuart Williams
This spot survives on its location alone. It's menu is simply too big and as a result, the food is beyond uninspiring. <br/>Pros: Decent location in Melrose Arch. <br/>Cons: Food.
Carla Orr
Best Blondie omelette and iced coffee! Love the decor! Wish i cld hve breakfast there everyday:P
Michelle
JB's Corner is great, salads are amazing and the breakfasts are really good, we have been there several times and never been disappointed and the atmosphere has a good vibe, service to good they check on you regularly and the prices are average, good place to hook up with friends and have a drink before going out on the town or just go there with your family for a decent breakfast.<br/>Breakfast has seriously improved since 2015!!!!
Yolandi
I always enjoy going the JB’s. The perfect place to meet a friend for after work cocktails. <br/>Service can be a little slow and food can take a bit longer than you would want – so I always order my drink as I’m being seated.<br/><br/>The menu options are quite diverse – from pizza to sushi. But I always end up on the salad page. Not because I particularly enjoy munching on salad leaves but because the salad options are amazing and the portions are huge.<br/><br/>If you live in JHB and haven’t been to JB’s yet, then you’re missing out.
Blue-genie
Restaurants that are part of a franchise generally have to work harder to stand out and make me want to come back for more. Melrose Arch is not one of my favorite places as I find parking to be a mission, and if you make use of the paid parking, a couple of hours over a leisurely meal becomes rather expensive. <br/><br/>I had dinner on a Saturday night, while the restaurant was packed, service was still exceptional. The menu offers great variety, ranging from light finger food, sushi, pizza, pasta and the usual grill items.<br/>I opted for a vegetarian stir fry served with yellow rice. The portions were massive, the taste, while not exceptional, was enjoyable. At least the veggies were still crisp. A dark sauce is served on the side, and when I asked the waiter what was in it, he walked off only to return with a list of ingredients, which I appreciated. This extra level of service is what really pushed this venue from good to great for me.
Stacey Visser
Great ambiance, vibey and definitely for the "trendy"... Food average and over priced.... Champagne stawbelinni does not live up to its name, not thirst quenching but pocket pinching!
Jonathan Bown
For lunch, I've only ever ordered one item off the menu at JB's Corner - the cheese burger. If you are craving a great burger, a few beers and a bustling spot to hang out at, JB's is perfect. The burger is served up as a classic American cheese burger and the patty is always prepared just the way you asked for it. Generous servings of fries and onion rings join the party - definitely a meal for the hungry or the comfort eaters. For the burger, I'd say it's a top 5 spot in Johannesburg. I can't say much about other items on the menu, I've enjoyed many breakfasts at JB's and never been disappointed. Awesome spot to catch up with friends or colleagues before or after work.
The SA Food Guru
This original landmark of Melrose Arch has become quite an establishment for <br/>informal or business lunches as well as weekend brunches and late night coffee dates.<br/><br/>The menu has matured over the years, and maintains a hint of original JB's - I welcome the new additions like sushi.<br/><br/>They serve my favourite Belgian chocolate cake in Jozi - it has no icing (which often disguises a bad, dry sponge) and is very dark, moist and rich - topped off with a dusting of icing sugar. The top of the cake is crusty and the middle remains to melt away in your mouth - almost like a fondant of that makes sense.A refreshing twist on the oh-so-average chocolate cakes served everywhere else.<br/><br/>They have a "beach body" section on the menu which I quite appreciate - high protein, low fat, low carb meals - very reasonably priced. <br/><br/>I also regularly make use of their "drive-by" service to pick up late night dinners or snacks (kitchen closes 10:30pm everyday).
Qaanitah Hunter
If you like noisy, bustling venues then JB's corner is the place for you.<br/><br/>I only ever went there for coffee several times and I had great service.<br/><br/>Their hot drinks are nothing spectatcular but their french toast and brownies are absolutely amazing.<br/><br/>The resturant part, I hear, is not the greatest in the world in terms of their price range- it is also not halaal.<br/><br/>And like I said, it can get very, very noisy and crowded on weekends. <br/><br/>I think it is worth a try to decide whether it 'works' for you or not.
Deborah Essien
Awesome place love it so much
Zaheda
This JB's Corner gets very noisy over the weekend and during the usual meal-times. I usually go when it's a little bit quieter so I can enjoy my meal instead of getting distracted. The seating options are better during quieter times as well and you don't feel so squashed.<br/><br/>JB's Corner is renowned for their chocolate brownies. The brownies are served with ice cream and strawberries, and together they melt in your mouth.<br/><br/>If you're in the mood for a light snack, then the potato skins might be a great choice. The cheese sauce that usually accompanies it is absolute bliss.<br/><br/>For heavier meals, I prefer pastas or pizzas, which never fail to disappoint.
Rebecca Franks
The food at JB's is great value for money, big portions with the option of super sizing. The desserts are delicious too. The atmosphere of Melrose Arch is bound to put you in a good mood. Their burgers are always a good and safe option. The food is a bit expensive but very worth it.
Zaahirah Bhamjee
The brownies here were among the best in Johannesburg. In 2010 they would serve them 3 on one plate as a serving. they now serve 2 on a plate with cream or ice cream. The atmosphere here is great during the day. <br/><br/>I don't really enjoy it at night because it gets too crowded and busy. Also, the waiting seats are right at the door and in winter it lets through a lot of cold air.<br/><br/>It's really great to book a table and watch a football game while eating your food here.<br/><br/>The decor is pretty standard and they also have a bar. The restaurant is not halaal.

If you are following me and have read my only other review, you would know that it was about JB's Corner in Sandton City. You'd also know what my favorite dish is.<br/>Having ordered the same dish for the last 3 or 4 visits at Sandton City, I was more than a little curious to compare the mince, toast and eggs at Melrose. I'll get to that in a bit.<br/>We got there on Sunday at about 11 am. The place was really busy inside due to the weather so we didn't mind being give a small table in the corner. Might I just say that the decor is great! I love sushi so I couldn't miss up the opportunity to get a sushi starter which was the prawn hand roll. Sadly, it was literally a prawn with rice and a few slivers of cucumber wrapped. There was no mayo, sesame seeds, nada! Very disappointing. Awkwardly enough, our main dishes arrived before we were done with the hand rolls. Remember small table in the corner? Now, about that mince, toast and eggs... The disappointed on my face was clear to my wife. Firstly, it looked dry and meagre. This dish is toasted brioche, with mince, preferred style of eggs and then melted cheese. The toast was more burnt than toasted. the mince was ok (although not as tasty as Sandton), the cheese was dry as opposed to soft, melted and stringy. I ordered soft poached eggs. They were not as soft as I would have liked. Overall, I'd say this dish was about as half as good as Sandton! <br/>My wife ordered the halloumi cheese. Although the presentation was very elegant (with some designs made with a balsamic reduction) they placed a square piece of halloumi on the plate. It wasn't cut into strips like its done (in EVERY other restaurant). <br/>The waitress also took a bit long to assist us (ordering more drink, getting the bill etc) but being as busy as they were, it wasn't a big deal. Also, I'm a patient guy:-)<br/>If you want great food with excellent customer service, visit JB's Corner... In Sandton City!
Martha Van Zyl
JB's Corner has a fantastic menu - a huge variety of great-tasting food and generous portions. There are also some nice cocktails.<br/>The vibe and service are always energetic and friendly. They tend to get quite busy for lunch, but it's a great spot to get together with friends after work.
Hasina Gori
I enjoy having brunch at JB's Corner as it a lot quieter than the rest of the day.<br/><br/>Their Nutella French Toast is a favorite of mine. Compared to many places which serve a soggy oily bread as French Toast, JB's version is a crispy bread that's soft inside. <br/><br/>Their croissants are divine and if you're craving eggs, their omelettes do not disappoint. I have tried their omelette with feta cheese and chilli served with toast. <br/><br/>Their lunch and supper menu is also extensive and friends enjoy the pasta menu. <br/><br/>In the evening expect to wait for a table and a more vibey atmosphere.

So after hearing a lot of good feedback from friends regarding JB's Corner in Melrose I decided to go and check it out. My friend and I went on a Sunday night for dinner and I must say the vibe was amazing. Usually on a Sunday night most places are quiet but this place was filled with people. There was constant laughing and chatting, which was a clear indication that people were enjoying themselves. I ordered a Napolitana pasta and found it to be pretty good. The highlight was the dessert, Lindt chocolate brownies! My word it was like biting into heaven. The texture, the rich flavour and the warm sensation made my night. <br/><br/>The food is averagely priced however, I was disappointed that a can of creme soda cost me R20. All in all a good dine out with a good vibe.
Unknown Foodie
Been to JB's corner couple of times - once for lunch and once for drinks.<br/><br/>They have a good collection of drinks and snacks. Nachos combinations are worth trying out. Again lot of outside sitting makes it a great option in summer evenings to relax. Can get a little noisy on Friday's. Good place to just sit-down , have drink and snack.

A great spot for lunch, situated in the 'hustle and bustle' of Melrose Arch. Menu has a large variety of options, including gluten-free or low GI bread where applicable, and breakfast is served anytime. I had the calamari pasta which is sauteed with peri-peri napoletana (just the right amount of kick), sun-dried tomato, fresh rocket, feta and fresh cream. I quite enjoyed it but couldn't finish the portion as it was large. Definitely going back for the Nutella toast.

The menu is quite varied and has something for everyone, from a polenta vege stack to brioche french toast, pizzas (with gluten free option) and nachoes. I had a chicken schnizel that was nice and tender and probably big enough to feed three people. Service was good. A nice spot for people watching and afternoon drinks.

Always get a good "medium" burger in fact always get a nice plate of food, also fun sitting outside having sundowners watching the arseholes revving their Lambo's in the hope they spotted....very entertaining.wellit amuses me
