Didn't think I'd enjoy Takeaway Thai but the kids love it. I've had to change my tune. Fast serves, always with a smile and very tasty. I'll be ordering for myself as well from now on.
Love their food in general. This particular branch, if sitting down service is great. However I have had a few issues with my takeaway orders before. My favourite dish is the phad thai. Keeping it classic. They also offer great specials now and then
Been there a few times to enjoy the curries, stir fries and sushi. All the food is very tasteful and pleasure to eat. Only disappointment was the fish dishes, calamari portions in one dish and prawns. Calamari was also tough. Everything else was devine.
I went to Simply Asia, Northcliff in Joburg. It's end of the month -- pay day -- and the place is buzzing. I waited over half an hour for my take away order. That was disappointing. But the staff throughout were aware of my waiting and were friendly and apologetic about the delay. The manager, whose name I didn't get, gave me free spring rolls for the wait and they had made a mistake on my original order but gave me the extra food they had cooked which he said would have just gone to waste. How kind! While the wait wasn't great, the service was impeccable. Five stars for customer service. And the food was delicious! Well done on making it fly under pressure Simply Asia Verdi Centre! I have yet to sit down for a meal here, although have collected a number of take away orders. The Simply Asia menu is full of flavour and you'll find something to suit every palate.
Order a green curry in veg & chicken
Both offerings were strangely mixed & not noodles & curry seperate
Flavours were strongly spiced as a authentic green curry should be
In this case the veg-soya offering actually nudged the chicken in terms of taste
Best simply asia i"ve ever eaten, definitely will be returning soon
I very much consider this our local, much like people in the UK have a local pub! It's just down the road from my folks and we default to Simply Asia when we want to head out for a quick bite.
The staff are friendly and the venue is cosy!
The menu offers a varied array of thai dishes to suit anyone's fancy! What I really like is that they changed their menu some time ago to include tofu and protein rich soya as a replacement for the beef or chicken, which I am a huge fan of being vegan! They also boast mung bean noodles, a gluten free option for those concious of this fact.
So last night I went with my dad for a lazy Sunday evening dinner - we both had a class of Durbanville Hills Chardonnay, a real favourite of mine and so refreshing with this heat we've been having.
We shared a portion of avo maki from their sushi selection for starters - this took a while to come out of the kitchen due to the popularity of the restaurant for takeaways in the area - not that we minded.
Mains came out a lot faster, I ordered the Thai Green Curry Pesto Noodles (with mung bean noodles) and my dad ordered a seafood rice combination.
I always thoroughly enjoy the food here, and this time was no exception! The value for money is incredible and will definitely be back without doubt.

Our favourite Sunday-night takeaway joint.
Clean, efficient and welcoming. It's a pretty small restaurant but they are constantly busy. A good standard of food can account for this.

The chicken spring rolls are also great.
Probably the best and most accessible Thai restaurant in Johannesburg. A ton of options for both meat eaters and non-meat eaters. Some branches are also halaal. The food is good whether you sit down or takeaway.
My favorite noodles: number 514 on the menu. Chicken, chillies, fresh spring onion and cashews with egg noodles! Delicious! Perfect end to the week! Yum!
