Review Steers - Johannesburg

Bought 2 Wacky Wednesday specials. The burgers(chicken and beef) were very good.

Decent commercial burgers, not the gourmet burger type outlet. Lovely fried potato chips, also offers a soy vegetarian burger option. Milk shakes available, self service option only; seating is available.

The usual take out place. You'd range of food. Best fries in town. It is a very small place and situated opposite the ice rink which is very noisy.

Great atmosphere good customer service

Let me start of by saying this, Steers generally isn't my favourite take aways place, but when you need a quick meal they can generally be helpful. And after a late night out there are still a few that run on a 24 hour basis and that can be a nice draw card. The Northgate Streers however is not one of the outlets that I want to visit. The service I have gotten on a few different occasions has never been very pleasant or efficient. The staff seem more interested in having private converations than actually serving customers. I waited for almost 5 minutes to be served when there wasn't even anyone else before me. Only to be argued with that I wasn't next in the line. I definitely think I am capable of not jumping a line that consisted of me and one other person. After placing my order I waited for a rather long period of time, and I do fully understand that when a take aways place gets busy, the service is slower. But I find it unacceptable that persons that had come almost ten minutes after I had finally placed my order managed to get their food before me. And it wasn't even like I placed an extra large order for the most uncommon item that requires more cooking time.  Maybe they just seem to have more off days than other places, but it definitely deters people from coming back on a regular basis.
