👌Food therapy comes with Oceans delights, finest dishes off a hot bronze/silver pans. Professional, friendly, humbled employees. Had myself a Prawns & Mussels combo (6 Prince prawns & Mussels) at R125, they accomandate customers with uneasy taste bugs with they Famous Fish & Chips (Hake fish) well done by the Pro's in the kitchen. For dessert try the Baklava Cheesecake at R50. Alcohol is also sold for sit-ins. 👌

This place is absolutely amazing. I'd definitely recommend this place if you just want to sit down, relieve stress, surround yourself with positive energy and eat delicious food. Even though I'm seating afar from the kitchen... The smell is so pleasing 🤤💗 The staff is so kind, very patient, don't rush the customers and often times recommend some foods to try. Price ranges are very reasonable and serve so much that everytime I come out the restaurant so full with takeways bags 🤣.

Mthobisi was serving over 6 tables at the same time with one his tables sitting about 8 patrons and most of his tables had a 4 patrons with mine being one of the two tables that had 1 patron but he never neglect us in favour of multitudes, this young man's services was stunning and he paid attention every detail of my orders. It was my 1st time eating here and he gave me a good service experience

Ocean Basket food is always good and fresh. And you rarely wait long for your meal. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a wide offering and always adding to the menu. I find the staff helpful, patient and friendly. And this branch was no different. If they introduced a frequent guest incentive or app, I'd probably be motivated to visit more often.

Part of the food court area at the Glen. Tables are spaced evenly. Bit short staffed. Smaller portions than we are used to but no train smash. Food fresh and tasty. Waiting time acceptable. Overall a good experience. Try and see for yourself.

Our waiter was awesome.The food was so great especially since the last ocean basket I went to I was not happy,the fish was yummy with no scales thank you And the bread! loved the chewy texture.So platter for 2 is actually platter for 3 we were really full and still had leftovers great portions more is good.Lastly the mellow ice cream is too sweet I'd prefer more ice cream than the whipped mellow cream please consider adjusting the ratios.Thank you yall made my sisters evening on her birthday especially since she was craving seafood🥰

The service from the minute you walked in was good. The waiter could have been a little more visible but the food was great. The menu has changed which is good, especially the dessert menu.

I am very disappointed with the service at this Ocean Basket. The Prawns are way overcooked. Chips on the Platter for two were not cooked properly either. Waiters and waitresses do not introduce themselves and greet customers properly. Everything was done in a rush so that people can knock off irregardless of the fact that customers are still expecting to be served. The sushi platter that I requested was not fresh. The ginger was wilted and the fish smelt off. Something drastic needs to happen with this branch of Ocean Basket because it is a bad reflection on the whole brand. I will not return to eat at this Ocean Basket.

The waiters are great. Place looks great. Kitchen is so slow. Been waiting 20 min for 2 halloumi and place isn't even busy

Our second visit to ocean basket in Johannesburg the food was excellent the service great. We are on holiday from Newcastle in England and only wish there were ocean basket venues there.

The place is always nice and clean.<br/>I always go to Ocean basket mostly for their sole fish, and prawns.<br/>I normally don't have dessert there but yesterday I decided to try the chocolate lava cake, and I have to say I was impressed😋<br/>The service too was good.

Ordered an 8 piece tempura prawn roll as a take-away order. Price is listed as R64 but when my husband went to collect the order the card was swiped for R110 without a receipt given to verify the amount charged.

Really nice new restaurant. The staff were friendly and really attentive. The food was really fresh and tasty. The new restaurant has a whole new modern feel to it. Hadn’t been to an ocean basket in a while but coming here was definitely a good overall experience.

Wow im ALWAYS here😊 haha but nevertheless the service stays fast and friendly.. I pretty much always order the sharing platter. I literally can never get enough of the mussels sauce wow😍 it's the best thing there and that why I always order the same thing or just the mussels. That sauce is heavenly❤️

Always busy which is a good sign. Food is good but the service is average. Classic ocean basket food so not that amazing. Prices are higher than you expect but still not astronomical.

Once upon a time when I was finally getting back into eating fish this Ocean Basket used to be my favourite lunch and dinner stop.<br/>It is evidently popular as even during the week at lunch time it can get very busy. The staff have always been friendly and as efficient as they can be and we have never had issues with the waiting staff. <br/>I prefer sitting inside although it can be warm on a hot day and crowded but the outside area is usually dirty and grimy (probably because it's considered the smoking area).<br/>The food used to be my reason to go. I loved the Pick of the Ocean Platter and the fried Butter-fish with chips; both were delicious and so reasonably priced! But the last three times we have visited I have found veins in almost all of my prawns (which should be removed before cooking) and the grilled calamari has a distinct crunch from grit not properly washed out. That is easily enough to put me off returning to a restaurant especially because it has happened on more than one occasion.<br/>I would love to go back one day and give the food a try again but my three past experiences have left a bad taste in my mount. Ocean Basket is such great value for money but if the quality of the food is bad it's just not worth it for me.

Always visit here with my fiance for our favourite fish n chips. Always prepared yummmyy!! Friendly staff and clean venue. Manager is always around chatting to customers . Making them feel at home.<br/>

Ordered sushi take away at lunch time. We had the zen platter, chan platter and sushi platter for 2. Service was good and quick. Manager was attentive. Didn't enjoy crab sushi due to personal preference. Salmon sushi was lovely and fresh. Glad there is a decent sushi place nearby.

Ordered the Prawn special for 4 people as take out and wow was I pleasantly surprised by the service as well as the food. I normally do not order from this particular branch but was forced to move to this one because of the service I receive at the other branch. We got all the sauces including the famous lemon butter sauce free whereas at the other branch we only received 1 of each (tartar, chillie and garlic) in those small containers which was intended for everyone. Prawns were not burnt and they tasted delicious. Permanent customer gained. Thank you

This has to be a classic seafood restaurant. It is an extremely well known franchise and I am sure most (if not all) of us have dined at an Ocean Basket. I am a little biased here given that I adore seafood and so, I generally gravitate towards seafood places. Ocean Basket stands out for me because for one, it has been around for a number of years and has always had a reputation for being value for money. Why I say this is because seafood is notoriously known for being pricy, but some how, Ocean Basket keeps their prices to to a minimum. <br/><br/>This is the kind of restaurant that is built for sharing because they have an assortment of platters from calamari to prawns, to squid heads and hake. I also adore the fact that they serve their individual dishes on their signature pans which gives their restaurant that authentic fish and chips feel (right out of the pan). This branch in particular has an outside section which allows you to enjoy some chilled white wine, gaze at the stars and of course, devour the fruits of the sea.

Service has improved dramatically from the last time we ate there. Food was good and with a generous portion meant one didn't leave hungry. Only down side was the waiter telling me the pan was extremely hot (which it was) yet the food bar the portions touching the pan were Luke warm.

Enjoyed their new, but limited time only, seafood curry. Seriously sad that I wasn't aware of their winter menu sooner, there was gluwine . Last time we were here, service was slow and lacking, today it was awesome.

Service could have been better. Waiters are constantly elsewhere when needed. However, food was delicious. I especially love their grilled prawns and crispy squid heads... Yum!

Placed inside the Glen Shopping Centre this franchise is perfectly situated. As a big fish lover I was very impressed with their salmon. It was cooked to perfection! Their veggies were delicious too! The waiters could have been better but on the whole I had a good experience at this restaurant.

What a dump. The place is in decline. They should close shop and get into an industry they understand because its not food. You won't get me back there.

Best Ocean Basket in my opinion! The food is ALWAYS good, and the service is always friendly and on the ball! The management is always present on the floor which I love. Out of all the restaurants at The Glen, this one is one of my favorites. <br/><br/>The outside seating area is great! It's always a real treat to sit outside at Ocean Basket under the trees and have a glass of wine and a delicious platter.<br/>I find inside is a little bit cramped for me so I prefer being seated outside.<br/><br/>I would recommend this Ocean Basket to anyone looking for good tasty seafood at great prices!
