Very decent food and good service. The only complaint I have is the size of the tables - very small and cramped.

Attentive staff. When we said we wanted to have the food to share, without us having to ask them, they split it onto separate plates and served to us already split. Fiid was tasty and effectively served

The coffee is great. The bread and foods are nice. The staffs are helpful and enthusiastic.

My fourth time here and the waiters are just wonderful, not to mention the most delicious food and drinks! Appreciate the consistency.

Breakfasts, sandwiches and coffees are all good. The pastas are not that great. Rather avoid to prevent disappointment. In fact even the presentation does not look good. Service is not bad. We did not wait too long for our food. Waiter was attentive and came back to check how our food was after being served.

Brilliant restaurant with a delicious variety of food. Staff are attentive and friendly. Bookings are recommended after Parkrun especially if you are a larger group. They have a wide drinks menu including hot and cold drinks.

A great coffee shop, the staff are always friendly and attentive. The breakfast is great and so is the coffee. The atmosphere at Vovo Telo is very inviting and super relaxing. I would definitely recommend trying this place if you find yourself in the area.

Great spot for a quick bite and a coffee or a long lazy conversation it caters for both brilliantly. Freshly baked breads and a great menu selection catering for meat eaters and vegetarians. Staff are friendly and you are located in the lonehill shopping centre so it's easy to go shopping before it after.

they've got great mochas, and really nice breads (especially the ciabatta and mini paninis) that f you catch them when they're still warm from their oven, you could eat them just like that. give the gorgonzola and caramelised onion breads a try.

Grabbed some chocolate croissants and was so disappointed with the texture, it was like having bread with chocolate in it, didn't have that light airy pastry.

Love heading there for a nice breakfast and coffee. The quality of the food is great and the freshly baked goods amazing. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It just lacks ambience since the restaurant got redone.

Very up and down relationship with this outlet, such a great spot for breakfast but the quality of food is always a role of the dice. Today it was great! Service was great, taste and flavor of the meal was excellent, sourdough was fresh. Please keep it up peeps!!

Vovo Telo has a great reputation and i’ve always loved popping in for a scrumptious breakfast and delicious coffee! My husband and I visited yesterday and we not thrilled by our experience unfortunately. The atmosphere has changed, no background music. We shared the anti pasta board (R105) - very limited options on the board, not much taste or excitement in flavor. Service average.

I was feeling for a good slice of cake. I gave Vovo Telo a try and was disgusted. I had the red velvet and it was so dry. The cake batter was not mixed properly and it looked like a two tone red and brown cake. I will never go back.

Hmm. Vovo Tello in Lonehill always amazes me - how is a shop that is always empty still open after all this time...?<br/><br/>They have a huge board outside the resteraunt (it's a mobile chalk board, may I add) advertising "coffee & cake R49" but when I asked (before taking a seat) if that's available I was told by 2 of the waiters in the group "sorry we don't have cake today" while the other one nodded and said it is available, they chatted amongst themselves and decided that majority wins and they don't have cake today. Why keep the board up outside? <br/><br/>I said I'd stay and have a drink anyways and took a seat. I ordered a "Vida loca mocha shake" which is supposed to be a shot of espresso with brownies and ice cream or something. The waitress told me that they can't do the espresso because their machine is broken (so the coffee part of that cake & coffee offer wasn't possible either - great - a coffee shop with no coffee is definitely something that draws in customers). I ordered the milkshake anyway but it wasn't great.<br/><br/>I've been here a few times before and service was always extremely slow even when the shop is empty. The place doesn't feel welcoming and the fresh pastries are often swarmed with bees. I think the vovo Tello menu is pretty good and I assume other branches are better but the one at Lonehill is a total flop.<br/><br/>At least the waitress was polite and friendly - the only saving grace and unfortunately good service just isn't enough in the resteraunt industry.

The most shocking experience. <br/>Many items on the menu were not in stock. The website boasts freshly made pastries, yet we were told they didn't have the waffles in stock? <br/>When our food finally arrived it looked beyond unappetizing. The steak medallions were grey lumps of meat, and the accompanying veg was tasteless. My companion ordered a burger and the chips were substituted without his approval for sweet potato chips. These sweet potato chips were in fact just large mushy chunks of potato all over the plate.<br/>We couldn't wait to leave this restaurant and will definitely not be back again.

Great breakfast venue.<br/><br/>Never a complaint at this establishment the service is always great and attentive. With the coffee made with a heart and as strong like I love it.<br/><br/>The eggs are always perfectly prepared with fluffy and yet crunchy on the edges waffles. Seasoned to perfection.

Situated in Lonehill shopping centre and very close to lonehill parkrun on Saturdays vo vo telo makes artisan breads and homemade pasta and cauliflower pizza bases too.I had a spiced chai with salami,tomato,cheese pastrami it was nice . Enjoyed spiced chai and service is friendly

Good food, dirty shopping center. Pigeons nesting in the rafters of the ceiling, filthy walls and lights. Doesn't make for the best experience fearing "good luck" on your head or shoulder or in your food the duration of your visit!

We've been popping in for breakfasts after our park run for a while, service has always been touch and go, but the food was reasonable . Went this morning and my husband got cold scrambled eggs. We sent them back, received no apology. They then returned the same eggs to him after just popping them in an oven to heat up, rubbery and dry. We sent them away again, no apology. So we asked for the bill and left. Very disappointed.

Stepped into the spot for breakfast after my friend raved about it and boy did it not live up to expectations. The ambience is alright, and the service was slow and the waitress forgot about us on several occasions🙄. <br/><br/>Had poached eggs with bacon, mushroom and sourdough bread. -didn't enjoy the poached egg at all and the whole meal was ruined. Haven't had a restaurant that can ruin breakfast in a minute.<br/><br/>But at least the staff was friendly😅

Unfortunately this branch of vovo telo does not live up to the brand. Apart from the slow service, the place is riddled in flies, food was missing ingredients and presented on filthy plates. To top this the manager is busy shopping at Pick n Pay.....need I say more!

I've been to this Vovo Telo a few times now for both breakfast and lunch and I have never been disappointed. The food there is delicious and the service excellent. The ice coffee is seriously yum and salads are huge and full of goodies. Def recommend if your looking for a good breakfast/lunch spot.

First and last time we'll be visiting this establishment. We had to ask to be served drinks. Seated at a dirty table. Flour, napkins and paper lying around on the floor. Ordered our meals and the waitress just decided to substitute an ingredient on my plate for something else due to being out of stock, at her own discretion and without asking. Walked out. Very disappointed.

I am not so keen on this place, the food isn't that great (ordered the french toast) the seating area looks rather run down. Waiters are friendly though.

A cockroach - in the food. I say no more on this. <br/>Service is slow, some of the produce is clearly not fresh as advertised and crockery is not properly washed. <br/>The staff, however, are very friendly, front of house is professional and pastries are brilliant.

Vovo Telo is walking distance from our house, so is one of our go to coffee shops! Service is good, coffee is also really good! They are also pet friendly, so our Labrador gets an outing every now and again which is great! Also really enjoy sitting inside in the mornings and watching the guys making the pastries and the smell of the bread baking is incredible! Really enjoy this spot

Disappointing. <br/>Yesterday was my second time at this Vovo Telo in Lonehill, and I don't know why it's so different to the others. <br/><br/>Service was not good. We chose to move inside, and our waiter seemed to completely forget about us! From looking less than pleased at having to wipe down the table, to a slightly under ripe fruit salad ( how is that even possible- not a single sweet pice of fruit). Also ordered the buttermilk hot cakes- usually the mascarpone cream is served on the side... Perhaps I should have asked. <br/><br/>All in all, I was happy when it was time to go as I did not love this experience. <br/>The only thing I did like, was being inside and close to the ovens. Was lovely and warm<br/><br/>I'll be back to Vovo Telo.. Just not at this one in Lonehill.

Had a lovely breakfast here after gym.  The place fills up very fast due to the park runs. <br/>I thoroughly enjoyed the English scones with the pulled pork filling.<br/>It came in a portion of two topped with an egg each.<br/>I must say I would've opted for the mayo on the side as it was a lot and overpowered the dish.<br/> But the pork was sweet and crispy, really good. The portion was large as well.<br/>Their cappuccinos were amazing as always.<br/><br/>***********************************************<br/>Pleasant stop for breakfast after gym. <br/><br/>I enjoy the open area seats and fresh coffee. <br/>They have lovely Banting brekkie options and wonderful sarmies.<br/><br/>You can also buy bread from them which they freshly make.

Love having breakfast here. Not often you can find a place that makes the whole family happy but this one does. Staff are friendly and coffee is great too.

Love this small cafe. Always receive service with a smile with extremely friendly and helpful staff. My favourite is their pizzas with a thin Base and tons of rocket. Also i love how their orange juice is freshly squeezed.

We visited this branch based on the amazing experience we had at the Vevo Telo in harties. Quite disappointing to say the least. Empty deli. Given a choice of carrot cake or carrot cake. Would have been better off visiting the pick n pay inside the mall.

After completing park run, this is our go-to breakfast spot! Tried quite afew different things from the menu and each one has been delicious! The ingredients used are so fresh and wholesome. Great service & great vibe!

Lovely relaxed coffee shop/restaurant in Fourways, love the salads! The decor is modern and trendy and any Vovo Telo restaurant is a winner and recommended by me

Had a mezze platter and pulled pork fold over wrap. Food, as always, very tasty and well presented . Pity about the noise coming from the kitchen!! Sitting on the patio trying to enjoy a relaxing lunch, wasn't happening!!! Had to ask the manager to get the kitchen staff to keep the noise down🙄🙄🙄 Vovo Telo you should train your staff to understand the difference between a restaurant environment and a taxi rank

Everything was so bland, old tough bread and unsalted chicken and avo. If you can make a better sandwich at home with ease you know if was bad...

I am a big fan of Vovo Telo, and the Lonehill branch is as great as the rest. It is so convenient to have breakfast here after Parkrun on a Saturday. Or pop over for coffee before work. Great staff, with excellent and fresh goodies always. The new Banting bread is really yummy too.

Stopped off here after our run this morning for coffee and breakfast! The coffee is amazing!! They don't have toasted sandwiches as the bread they make is difficult to toast but the manager made a special open toasted cheese for my daughter which was great!! <br/><br/>Nice healthy options available for breakfast - I had the scrambled egg whites with roasted rosa tomatoes with fresh avo which was delicious

Vovo is one of those places that will always be where you go if you can't be bothered to leave the area. The food is always good, but never blows me away. Service also always seems to be on the slower side. The coffee is good though and you'll never leave disappointed, but you also won't leave with your mind blown.

The 1st time I went the breakfast and tarts were simply amazing! Baked fresh and yum! <br/>However when I returned it was sadly the opposite. Portions were smaller and tarts weren't ready. Definitely a disappointment.

I love the laid back feel of the place. The hippie variety of juices is amazing. The sandwiches are tasty. The service is good and speedily. They also have a great selection of fresh breads.

Poor service, ran out of ingredients and served half a meal with no explanation. Only made excuses when we complained. Took over 20 min to prepare a breakfast.

Ever since I had my first little "real" hot chocolate at Vovo Telo I've been in love with their outlets. Unfortunately this one didn't quite stack up to the others I've had the pleasure to eat at. The food was lovely but the service that my friend and I received was shocking (and it wasn't even a busy Saturday morning). Our waitress was hardly anywhere to be seen and never checked on us, maybe next time - if I go back - I will have a better experience.

All the Vovo Telo restaurants are very good but Lonehill is our favorite. I had the Stanley 44 which was excellent. I had my eggs scrambled - to perfection!! The corn cake was delicious and the rosa tomatoes and bacon were brilliant. Presentation was spot on. I had mine without mushrooms, a personal preference. The rest of the party also had exquisite food. Only reason I'm scoring the experience a 4.0 was they were out of my favorite desert - the Portuguese Custard tartlets. Oh, the service was also a tad slow owing to them being extra busy. I can highly recommend the Volvo Telo - you won't be disappointed.

This place is a little gem.<br/><br/>They have Frankies. Which is one of the best locally made soda companies. It's awesome. Try the lemonade or old fashioned creamsoda.<br/><br/>The staff are warm and welcoming which puts you straight at ease.<br/><br/>Try the Strawberry BLT. It's alittle weird<br/>But it is extremely good.<br/><br/>I make excuses just to drive up to lonehill to come try it. So worth it :)

I hate the website since it is asking me for this info before I have ever visited the flipping restaurant. That ought to change ASAP. In my humble opinion.

Discovered this gem after a year of living in lonehill! And I am happy I did! The vibe is relaxed, decor is different and interesting. Friends and I had breakfast here, the food was fresh and tasty and our waitress was so friendly! We will definitely be back for lunch soon!

Freshly squeezed juices are amazing, the teas are also great and served in awesome silver wear, I often go there for breakfast and they make the poached eggs perfectly! Still need to try more from the bakery selection though

I love the decor, the relaxed vibe and the outside area undercover with a couple of gorgeous old velvet couches. The rectangular pizza is delicious. And the chicken, pesto and pecorino sandwich is heavenly. Always a win for breakfast, lunch or a coffee!

Great looking venue, good atmosphere, pretty good coffee, but that's where it stops. This is a typical example of a restaurant with a overcomplicated and large menu and unfortunately not the cheffing skills to pull it off. I would far prefer a simplified menu, but one that is cooked well. <br/><br/>Sadly always used as a last resort only.

Felt like a change and came here for a brunch. I had the salmon and egg croissant but I didn't eat the croissant basket. Everything else was good. Nice venue for brunch but next time I'll ask for a soft croissant rather. Great vibe

I ordered an eggs Benedict... Boy it was lacking the benedict, of all places should know how to pull that off. But since it became a franchise it lost its appeal, but what can we say some good things have to come to an end.

Great outdoor or indoor vibe, the food is well presented, generous portions and well priced for what you get. The basil pesto pasta with chicken is delicious with a hot cup of Red cappuccino. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast or lunch!

We always experience excellent customer care. Love the food along with service, always with a smile. Close to home, so will be a regular from now onwards. Keep it up guys

Took my wife and kids for breakfast this morning (Sunday, 10 May) with the intention of trying something different for a change. The last time we ate at Vovo Telo Lonehill was for lunch in January 2015 and the service was good. We usually go to Tashas, Doppio Zero or Mugg and Bean for our breakfast meals. We were very disappointed with the terribly slow service at Vovo Telo Lonehill. The staff seemed incapable of managing a full place and blamed the slow service on the apparent shortage of kitchen staff. As a customer I don't care who is to blame. When I go to a restaurant I expect good or excellent service! Something needs to be done about the slow service. For now, we will stick to Tashas - the best at the moment!

Place is going from bad to worse! Ordered 2 Brioche loaves for this morning....arrived to collect and then told there was a problem with the oven! No phone call to say "sorry about your order" ` Nothing. The Sour Dough bread has become "flat and un-appetising.<br/>The Bakery...the very reason for it's existence is now a liability<br/>Used to love the place, but have had too disappointments of late

Absolutely divine little spot. The owner is so lovely and friendly, the sandwiches fresh and flavourful and the staff all so helpful. I wish all Vovo's were like this one!

Food amazing. Staff friendly. Comfortable vibe and interesting music choice. don't try this for a quick lunch or when you're in a rush... slow beyond belief but worth it for the tasty food... Yum!

With alot to keep your eyes wondering and your mouth smiling.<br/><br/>Friendly staff await at an entrance to the deck at the side of the restaurant.<br/>The tables are spread out nicely allowing for comfort and privacy.<br/><br/>The menu is enjoyable to look at and is easy to comprehend. <br/><br/>My experience was of the breakfast hours on a Sunday. <br/>Live music is a lovely idea but it should be acoustic so that the volume is not too loud where you have to raise your voice to be heard. <br/><br/>They make a decent poached egg. And their rye bread is tasty.<br/><br/>Vovo Telo leaves you with a sense curiosity. I will be going back to try out more of their menu.<br/>Definitely recommended as a breakfast spot.

This is the perfect place to meet for a coffee and breakfast over a catch up with friends. The wooden deck outside offers you a nice opportunity to catch some sunlight (bring sunscreen of you plan a long catch up!)<br/>The decor is shabby-chic with mismatched wooden tables and rugs. <br/>The breakfast / lunch menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering meals. <br/>I went with a classic creamy scrambled eggs and bacon on ciabatta. <br/>Eggs were tasty and expertly cooked and the ciabatta was tasty. The perfect compliment was the freshly squeezed orange juice.<br/>We went on a Sunday, the day a band were hired to sing on the deck. Instead of being soothing and relaxing, the effect was the opposite. <br/>The music was a too loud, forcing us to shout at one another to be heard. Not the ideal atmosphere for a coffee shop. We moved inside, which was then fine.

What a great place to have lunch. We have been here several time and also had a good nice meal. We have been disappointed the last time we went as they did not have stock of anything and the pick n pay was open a few meters away. The food was also not the best on this particular day<br/><br/>I will be going back and I just hoping it is not a trend they have started and a once off mistake.

I went here for breakfast and had the most amazing coffee and delicious, creamy scrambled eggs. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a good bakery and excellent coffee!

I LOVE coming here for breakfast! It's got such a great atmosphere and the smell of fresh bread is so inviting. I usually have the smoked salmon and scrambled egg on a croissant. They have a lovely selection of teas and breads. Service is always friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

Vovo telo Lonehill. Very dissapointed. No atmosphere, no service, no smiles, no thank you's. I regret giving a tip. My rating is purely based on the delicious food.

Great fresh juices. Good coffee. Average service. Cold breakfast took over 40min to arrive. Corn cakes were undercooked. Owner not interested in our complaint.

Breakfast at Vovo Telo was delicious. The portion sizes were just right to satisfy without leaving that bloated feeling. Their beverage menu is interesting with Chocotelo being a great experience. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing freshly squeezed Juice, fresh ingredients in their meals and friendly service. There's not much I can fault really. We went for lunch for Mother's Day, the location is nice and quiet, and all the food (we always try everyone's food at the table :)) was great, and as said, fresh. Also price wise, it is affordable for lunch. Really a good experience, and if I am in the area again, I would go back to try some other items on the menu. Thank you!

Really good pizza. Relaxed vibe and jive location. You cane ask for anything more out of a place like this. RECOMMENDED

Vovo Telo has a few branches and as a quirky themed restaurant, the Lonehill setting isn't quite right for this restaurant. As a result the vibe is a little dull. <br/><br/>The menu has many interesting choices which all sound exciting and are sure to confuse you when trying to make a decision what to order. When the food arrives it tastes as good as it sounded on the menu and you will most probably leave having had experienced a meal you had never thought to try.

Service has improved greatly under new management!
