Review Curry N Go - Johannesburg

A "go-to" for delicious and well presented platters! I ordered the signature lamb platter and a few chicken platter items for an event and all was well prepared to my request per item, neatly arranged and delicious. The platter quantities were plentiful. My guests were very impressed by the taste of the lamb items which were well seasoned and succulent. The chicken items were crumbed evenly and tasty too. Pastries were full of tasty fillings and crisp. Would definitely order again. The owner is meticulous about her orders and presentation and is a pleasure to deal with.

Best Indian food i have tasted & i have been around to many places, must say the Bunny Chow a must & the samoosa's the best i have had. Always welcomed by friendly people. Cira Nahte now my favorite Indian Restaurant...

I ordered 2 lamb bunnys and a portion of Masala chips. The food was packed with flavor and in my opinion, probably the best bunny I have eaten in JHB. I was however a bit disappointed that when I had left with my order the chips was not packed in and I had to return to collect it. Furthermore the chips was packed with flavor but I felt the portion size was rather small for the price. The owner was very friendly and the store also offers many other spice and prayer goods for convenience. I can say that I will be going back there again. Overall, would definitely recommend

Love this place! The food and service feels like home. Had my fair share of trying bunny chows in Joburg, but Cira Nahte wins hands down!

Several times when arriving to collect my telephonic order for my office, I am told that they don't have this or that, why when calling can't they tell you that they are out of stock of certain items. Also found that their lamb and chicken dishes have more bones in than meat. Not great experiences. Will rather buy from a more reliable supplier.

Its safe to say that throughout my journey of trying to pick out a place that competes with Dosa Hut (Curry wise), Curry n Go is on the list that doesn't. First time I bought a chicken bunny and it wasn't up to standard. By the time I got home (2 minute drive), the bunny was drenched in gravy, the bread was soggy, the carrot sambal was not fresh (carrot edges were turning white, so it's been there for a while. Edges of the chilli bits were caving in. Yes I look out for things like this.)

But.. I decided to give them a try again recently and ordered a chicken curry and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Their sambal was still not fresh though. Even though I enjoyed the second meal I purchased from this place, I won't go back again, it didnt blow me away, It's just ok.

Okay.... I'm just gonna cover my meal in this review because a colleague of mine fetched it for me so i cant comment on the service. The Lamb Roti Roll is the worst thing that i have ever eaten in my life. The curry was super salty, the roti seems like it was purchased from a store like pick n pay because it was definitely not indian made and more of a wrap, it was way too soft and crepe like with terrible texture once the gravy gets in. The lamb was literally in little shreds of meat and there was not a single whole piece to be found anywhere. The curry left a horrible soapy after taste in my mouth that was bitter and if you add that to the use of too much salt the taste is really horrible and made me gag. I have a feeling i was sold a really old curry that was in the freezer perhaps. My first experience with them was much much better than this. I will now and forever be staying completely away.

They don't answer the phone so when you get there you could have been spared the trip as they don't have anything available on the menu . 😕 disappointing as there are no good curry places that offer decent take always after 5

Great service, been looking for a decent bunny chow and found it, also asked for some vinegar chillies on the side and was gladly given some at no extra charge. Also the best masala chips you can find.

Curry an Go is a satisfactory Indian Cuisine spot. The chicken breyani was good. However the soji, which was drenched in Nestle cream, did not provide the proper soji experience. A limited menu where all the dishes are not always available. Curry and Go is however very reasonably priced which lives up to its value.

Authentic Durban cuisine, Briyani's, Bunnies all great. Abigail and her team are always very helpful. Vinegar chillies always a hit. Keep it up guys.
