Review Curry Leaf The - Johannesburg

Been eating out here for the last 5 years. Very homey food. I don’t live close anymore but go out of my way to buy from here. The owners are very friendly!

Absolutely delicious, authentic Durban Indian food!

The food is made with love, and the owner is very friendly. Even though they're now operating from a house and not a store, the food is still good, and service is still good. The food is also a lot cheaper than other Sandton-based Durban curry establishments.

Authentic Durban Indian cuisine . Friendly relaxed environment - they do take Aways . Reasonably priced . Food is just like how mom and gran made it in Durban

This is a great place! Their Roti is great value for money, tasty and great quick lunch during the week as well. Great service. Would definitely recommend

Ralph the manager / owner cares about his customers. Orders over the phone are fulfilled in time and correctly. Good breyani.

They got good service and friendly

Fantastic food. No personality from the staff but that is not why we buy their brilliant curries!

Trusted Indian restaurant - very popular with the locals. Friendly service and great food.

The best bunnies in town for sure! Sammies and other tasty Indian treats. A small selection of Indian spices too. But definitely go for a bunny chow - eat in or take away.

Was not impressed. R70 spent on a quarter lamb bunny that was quite a rip off as it lacked flavour, gravy and meat. It was basically all bread and a little curry. The picture says it all. Never again

My family and I are big fans of their Durban style curries and probably eat here once or twice a month. Best curry place we've eaten at in Joburg. Delicious mutton, beans and soya prawn curries, generous and flavourful breyanis. Thanks!

A very inconsistent restaurant! Meat cuts are atrocious. I would never recommend a mutton bunny ever to anyone and I have attempted on so many occasions to offer them a chance at redemption but to no avail, the curry is far from authentic and flavorful! The carrot salad is fantastic though!

The food is AMAZING! I have eaten here dozen's of times (Vegetarian meals) the food is authentic Durban style. I often take friends or people who want to taste "Real Durban Indian food" to this place.

I have eaten at the Curry Leaf a few times Each time i said to myself, you will change my mind. Today at 12:30pm I ordered a Soya Prawn Roti roll and my friends had a quarter mutton.....DISGUSTING IS ALL I CAN SAY!!!! I will definitely not be coming here again, nor will my colleagues.

I get take away from this restaurant on a weekly basis. Great breyani and soji. Durban style food. They also do samoosa's with a variety of fillings

This is a great place. If you're looking for home cooked curry. It's probably one of the best bunnies in jhb. The taste is awesome and the spice is just right. They could improve on the meat with less fatty and boney meat.

Best Durban curries in Jozi. Good variety, my favourites are the beans bunny and veg breyani. Quite reasonably priced too, only thing is they're a little out of the way.

The portions are generous..vegetable biryani was well flavoured and tasty..the beef curry was good too soft tender and flavoursome..roti were tasty too..overall good experience

Excellent Durban curry. My sugar bean roti was a neatly folded average portion, with excellent flavor and heat. The potatoes and beans were soft but not cooked away, and the roti was dry and light. It was accompanied by a generous portion of carrot salad and the entire meal was freshly made.

Atmosphere/facilities is better than most of these types of eateries, even though the shopping centre is somewhat run down. Prices are a little higher than I'm used to for Durban Curry but the quality of their food makes this worthwhile. I'll be back.

One of the worse lamb bunnies in JHB. Lacked flavor with watered down gravy + the quality of the lamb shocking for what we paid. I took some work colleagues over during lunch and they were gobsmacked. I complained to a guy called Ralph and he just shrugged his shoulders. Cannot recommend.

This is one of my favourite Indian go to spots when I feel like that spicey Durban curry. I enjoy their mutton bunny chow and I love the fact that it always has a lot of meat in it, because sometimes Indian places fill their bunnies with potatoes. Their samosas are always amazing, I love their potato and the Cheese and corn one!
Prasantha Bisetty
The mutton bunnies we ordered the other night were smaller than a proper quarter. The food is not bad but at the same time I dont think its great either. Overpiced in my opinion for a small average tasting bunny.

Cute little café type spot that offers tasty Indian Delights ranging from samosas to bunny chows. Dropped by with my sister to have some coffee, samosas and puri pathas. What a great afternoon treat! Although the food took a tad longer than usual to come through, it was well worth the wait. Although there are other spots that serve the same at lower prices, the prices here are still quite affordable considering the size and portions. Will definitely be back again when the cravings hits to have an afternoon snack :)

Just took a big order for our office, everyone is happy with their food. I had the Beef Bunny Chow and I will definitely have it again, it was divine.

23/04/2016: what I appreciate about this small Indian restaurant is that they increase their vegetarian selection when Hindus fast. Today I went for the veg breyani...served with dhal and some carrot salad...really good.

Jan 2016: If you want authentic Durban Indian food, then this is a great choice. I consistently order there mutton curry with roti which is consistently satisfying. The soji is also great if u like it rich, like I do;-)

Authentic durban Indian food, probably one of the only places in joburg where u can get a decent bunny. I really like this place... we'll worth the visit if u are close by and want a spicy lunch

Loved the mutton bunny will gladly have that again even though i find that shopping centre slightly dodgy. Sadly their chicken one lets them down. There is some taste in it that kills the flavour, not sure how to describe it.
