I haven't been there for a while, but the food is nice and you feel relax to have lunch or afternoon tea in here. There are many options for vegan and vegetarian food. Service was excellent 👍

I went on a solo date this past Sunday, I absolutely loved it. It was nice and quiet, the environment was so calming. Food was great ❤️

This place never disappoints. We tried their set menu this time and selected a 3 course option. We were not disappointed with the food, as it was delicious as always. The service was excellent the vibe was good and this location is just great. Would highly recommend this place for any catch up lunches or dinners with friends. They have a wide drinks menu and good cold refreshing beer on tap.

Whoever trains staff here really deserves an award! Excellent service, beautiful views, great quality food, 5 star treatment every time I go there. The manager even gave me a complimentary piece of cake when something went wrong with my drink. I just love this place

Great service. Hot drinks were perfect. Food was delicious. Shout out to Kelvin for the great service. We need some Doppio Zeros in Cape Town. Vibe was chilled with good music. There’s fresh baked food available too. Smoking and non smoking sections. Bar upstairs with a large wine fridge. Upstairs and downstairs both have outside sections.

Had a brilliant brunch with brilliant service. Doppio Zero has definitely made sure the decor is stylish and inviting while perfecting their Menu and serving it with a smile. Will definitely be back. Week mornings are not too busy so you are able to enjoy a delicious meal.

I've always had more than splendid experiences here. Our waitron and the manager checked on us plus another waitron, the attentiveness, efficiency and atmosphere is like no other. Amazing food and drink options. Clean ablution facilities and convenient parking

After a delicious breakfast, we enjoyed cocktails over some saucy wings. The service absolutely good, we had a friendly waitress who made the effort to open the gazibo top when our balcony table got too much sun. Definitely deserving of a 5 🌟 service rating.

Unfortunatly neither me nor my wive enjoyed the food maybe it was just the dish we chose. We will return and try a different dish though. Service was excelent and the atmosfere was great. I enjoy visiting Doppio. Great ambiance, lovely staff awesome service. Their meals are well prepared. Restaurant caters for everyone including vegans. Covid-19 protocols strictly adhered. By the way, I cleaned out my plate. :-)

We had the most stunning meal for our date night there last night. Luckily we made a reservation as it was really quite full. What exceptional service. I was really impressed with each meal construction. So carefully thoughtful, and a flavor experience. We had haloumi and chicken livers for starters and braised beef short rib and fruiti de mare pasta for mains. What a wonderful meal accompanied by cranberry and cucumber G&Ts. Superb really

Wow what an incredible experience. I've been here many times either for breakfast, lunch or supper and I've NEVER been disappointed. The staff are absolutely fantastic. So friendly and helpful. The food has always been superb. Compliments to everyone. I had lovely chat to Clive today what an incredible gentleman. I also suggested that consideration should be given to opening up Doppio Zero's at both Ballito (I know of a perfect spot) and in the East of Pretoria (as per my mom's request). We love Doppio Zero. Thanks for the great service and delicious food. Keep up the good work

Meat was dry, barely any sticky bbq sauce on the "bbq" pork skewers, chips were still raw and too little filling in the nutella pancake.. not the best...

The food was good, atmosphere was great, and the staff were friendly. Maybe some advice would be to have bigger tables for 3 people, they are fine for two but when you add one more person �

I have been a few times for lunch and breakfast ... service has been good.. but is room for improvement, but food quality has been exellent. Definitely one of my favourite spots to go for friends or family gettogethers

Slow service. They forgot small things like, cutlery which is kind of essential for eating... and left your food on your table to get cold... still no cutlery. The food itself was good. Alas... in a choice between Turn and Tender up the road and Doppio... T&T, at least you get cutlery.

First visit. I will be back. Lunch with two friends. We opted for the tapas option and we thoroughly enjoyed our choices. Later it was red cappuccinos and a full on cappuccino for me with carrot cake. I will be back for a chocolate croissant 🥐 which had my name on it. Downside is probably the parking... hectic!

We were there earlier, the lady was quick to give us our menus, and not ask us what we wanted to drink. We sat there for about 10 minutes or so waiting for her, or any waiter to come and take our order, but no one came. It wasn't even that busy. We got up and left. Usually I enjoy going to any of the doppio zeros around joburg, but today in particular, it was dismal. Service and efficiency is everything. Very disappointed.

I have been there on another occasion and it was great so I was happy to go back. Today the waiter really had a bad attitude. I don't know why he was so rude towards us but he was acting like he was doing us a favor by serving us. Not how we would like to spend our morning... we didn't say anything in fear of him getting nasty and putting more flavor into our food or coffees..if u know what I mean. Anyway... I will be back but obviously will stay away from that waiter, just thought you should know as he might drive some of yr customers away.

Best bakery in town, unfortunately, found the service to be lacking, food was so-so and the coffee made me sad.

The food was lovely but really slow service ... If that is sorted out it would be the perfect spot for a meal or quick coffee !

Very well set up and good service experience apart from my meal not up to standard for the price I paid I ordered the ribeye steak served with roasted rosemary potatoes (which were basically just slop chips) n cherry tomatoes, with an extras of mushroom sauce for my steak which was watered down that creamy mushroom flavor was good for the milly second it lasted.

Absolutely shocking!! From being run by a manager who cared by his clientele’s well being to being run by a 20 year old with the worst attitude! After having sent a pizza back twice, the response we got from the manager was down right rude and disinterested. Our waitress was more apologetic, after receiving the food a second time she did not even make sure everything was alright.<br/>The salmon had not been filleted correctly and was full of bones. This was very disappointing. Doppio has taken a turn for the worst it seems.

Last night was my first time visiting the Bedfordview branch, I’ve always passed it but never actually tried this Doppio. I must say that their vegan burger was wow ! I enjoyed that patty a lot, the patty is homemade and fresh! Something very rare to find these days as most of the patties are already pre-made. The wrap had many fillings in, which was a slightly too complicated for my tastebuds. But overall the food is amazing ! Love how they cater for vegans and vegetarians so well ! What was disappointing and unexpected was that they charged for my tap water, 3 cups of warm water with lemon at R39 which is quite pricey as most restaurants serve water for free.

It was a rainy day so my friend and I got cake take aways, we got the bar one chocolate cake which is vegan! It was super moist and surprisely not too sweet despite being a bar one cake. Definitely coming back, would like to try some of the vegan dishes and end it off with this chocolate cake

06.2018 Finally made my way to this branch as i have been wanting to use my voucher that i had won.<br/><br/>Love the setup of this place, i am sure summer time is lovely to sit outside but not today its flipping freezing. They have the usual varieties of cakes, desserts and breads to choose from on display. I am definitely loving their current winter menu. So many great Mediterranean dishes and spicy foods.<br/><br/>We ordered hot drinks to start, sadly my Chai Hot Chocolate and my sisters tea arrived luke warm, but my moms coffee was at least hot.<br/><br/>The breads served while waiting is enough to fill you with their tasty chilli, garlic and parmesan sides.<br/><br/>I could have easily chosen a few tapas options but my eye was caught on the Grilled Rump flatbread - Chilli & Garlic rubbed Rump, Kale (yes i ate Kale forgive me for i have sinned), Roasted Red Peppers, Marinated Feta, Salsa Alfresco & Hummus Tzatziki, the meat was soft and tender i just added a bit of chilli and garlic to my meal and it was delightful. My sis had the Salmon and Sweet Potato Fish Cakes with a Ginger, Garlic, Chilli & Soya dressing and Caprese Salad (Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato, Basil pesto, Avo* & Red Onion) and mom had the Prego Pollo - Char-grilled chicken breasts, lettuce, tomato, peri peri mayo on Turkish bread with hand cut chips. Those chips were yummy. We also couldnt resist a bit if dessert so we shared the Lemon Meringue -not too sweet or tart - it was actually perfect. We decided to pop out for supper on a Friday night. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, it feels like you are in a street cafe in italy, i really like it. On the negative side, the service was terrible, i was ready to wave a white flag in surrender by the end of the meal. We had the mushroom rissoto which was pretty good, a little busy but totally under seasoned. It was the same for the pealafel. If you have time and don't mind under seasoned food Dopio isnt a bad choice. Overall, this one isn't for me.

Every time I go to Doppio Zero Bedfordview it never disappoints - the food is delicious, the staff are friendly, and the decor and ambience is warm and relaxing.

Very dissapointing, from the food to the service, the staff need to learn how to interact with the customers. <br/>I won't be wasting my time or money on a place that does not make customer service or satisfaction a priority. <br/><br/>The only thing that I liked about this place is the setting unfortunately I won't be going back 😕 it is just not worth it!

This must be by far my favorite of all the Doppio’s! <br/>The service: <br/>Beyond exceptional, all the serving staff are very friendly and polite. Of the hundreds do times I have been here I don’t think I’ve ever had a rude or disinterested Waiter. The managers of this doppio are incredible very friendly and constantly check to ensure you are happy. <br/><br/>The coffee is always good here ( I do personally believe it has everything to do with a good barista). So coffee and cakes are our most frequent reason for visits. <br/>However of the many meals I’ve enjoyed here I have not been disappointed so it’s safe to say that you can be assured your food will come promptly and to order. <br/><br/>And my absolute favorite thing about this particular doppio is the Decor. It is perfection! The entire restaurants aesthetic is so pleasing and it is always gorgeous and so clean! <br/>Really love this establishment please keep it up!

i am tired of bedfordview doppiozero waiters and management..i was there yesterday for dinner same waitress who messed my order and his manager are same who people who messed my day. i went today for my coffee still same manager i asked for coffee from him, it never came..till later on waiter asked if am ok..then i asked for coffee.Dark tall manager who usually chats around or shout around.<br/>with black latest nike trainnes.<br/>sometimes you get the services you never had in all restuarants..and you will be like thats doppio i know.today i asked my attidude waitres. where is my waiter?she told me right to my face,I DO NOT KNOW YOUR WAITER SIR,DID YOU BRING ONE?<br/>I WAS LIKE NEVER MIND,MAY I HAVE THE BILL PLEASE?<br/>DOPPIO BEDFORDVIEW NOT ANYMORE BACK TO GREENSIDE OR SANDTON..

Food was really good. We all had pastas that were delicious. We went on Mother’s Day, we phoned to book a table and were told we they were working on first cone first serve. After arriving and being seated our drinks arrived and we were told that we need to move and wait for a table as the table we were at was reserved. If it wasn’t for the decent food this would have been a bad experience.

Seating is comfortable,<br/>Service was not that good as we had to look for our waiter several times.<br/>Food was below average!<br/>We had hake and it was dry, chips tasted like they were done in old oil.<br/>The bowl of green mush was awful!<br/>Looked good but was disappointing.<br/>When the food arrived the amount of flies and bees was overwhelming  which could have been solved with burning candles but instead we were moved inside.

I love the food and the vibe. I especially love the outdoor non smoking area with an awesome view. Sometimes you get an awesome waiter/waitress and sometimes you get disappointed. That’s my reason for a 4.

My Muslim friends asked for a pollo pizza and what a surprise it came with a slice of pork ham 😱 what a disappointment. The place and deco is nice but poor service unfortunately.

Good spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner, very nice vibe at dinner time with a separate dinner menu. Pizzas and pastas are very good. Eggs Benedict with gammon is delicious for breakfast. Love the desserts cheesecake options are great.

Lame.<br/>Really think this is the best way to describe this branch of Doppio.<br/>Great deco, but that is as far the compliments go.<br/>Can't understand when waiters do not know what a clean glass is, bring you one that has pieces of some nasty stuff on it, then follow it up with an overly greasy glass, and can't see why you concerned, and adamant to get a CLEAN glass.<br/><br/>When you know you can cook better than a chef at a restaurant; the place is not even worth it. Never had a lasagna with no bechamel sauce = dry lasagna. Cold steak and mash. No seasoning on the mash and veggies that came along. There's a certain waiter; he has such a dry unwelcoming attitude, I almost feel like I'm bothering him when I try get service.<br/><br/>Not coming back here, but you are more than welcome to bring your chef for cooking lessons at my place; I'll teach him/her the fine art of seasoning food, and executing classics such as lasagna. <br/>

Had dinner for my Dad's 60th Birthday. <br/>Food was great! Service good. Sat upstairs which is more vibey but was pretty noisy from the barman making cocktails and things... but will definitely be back as I see their breakfast menu looks lovely

Has great decor and such great potential. The service was good. The food was very average. I ordered the chicken al forno. It was very oily and lacked a bit of flavour. The menu seems different from the other franchises and I personally felt it lacks the flare and quality one would expect from a Doppio franchise.

Used to be a big fan - but won't be returning after last experience there. Had a problem, asked for manager - he eventually came over, was not overly interested and said it wasn't his call - said was the owner's call but made no effort to call the manager - I had to get up from the table and go and approach the owner who was equally disinterested in trying to resolve the problem. To add to insult was a birthday celebration. Have left messages for head office as well as posted on their FB page where they assured me management would make contact - 48 hours later and no interest either by HO or Branch. Leaves me not a huge fan of Doppio in general. Dinning out is not only about the food it is also about the experience.  Luckily lots of alternatives out there, especially in Bedfordview, spoilt for choice of coffee shops.

Although the acoustics in the restaurant aren’t great, the food was absolutely divine. We also had a wonderful waiter, Terrence, who had a good sense of humour and kept us entertained. Despite the fussy eaters in our party, he was on top of it all! He even called me back because I had forgotten my bag at the table. What a gentleman, thank you!

I had supper here the other night and overall was quite impressed.<br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>I ordered the calamari and chorizo pasta with penne that was superb. My boyfriend had a doppio pizza with half being Fusione and the other half a don vito which he also loved and said was fresh. I had a mojito cocktail which was refreshingly delicious. Great place for my friend and I to catch up after months. The casual atmosphere was great, the noise levels in the restaurant was perfect. The food was delicious although I ordered a simple pasta but it was satisfying. Looking forward to going there again for breakfast. The menu has a large variety to cater for everyone.

Great breakfast, food was well prepared and tasty, could do better on presentation. One thing letting them down was the service. Would have given a higher rating if staff were more attentive.

I didn’t have a great experience at this newly opened branch. The decor was stunning and the venue is quite sophisticated, but the food was a let down.<br/><br/>We came for lunch and I ordered the Rump Pastora. I had asked for Medium Rare but it came Well Done. I hate sending food back so I ate it anyway, but it’s pretty disappointing that they messed up my order. The steak didn’t taste great, and I also didn’t enjoy the cauli mash. Definitely not worth the price. My boyfriend’s burger was a bit better, and the chips were good.<br/><br/>I’d probably go back for the chilled venue, but I think I’ll stick to the breakfast menu in future.

I absolutely love the decor and ambiance in this Doppio. The deck on a Saturday afternoon is a must. Super wide variety of food on the menu and everything tastes amazing. The salads and pasta are a big hit for me.

Brooooo listen here , I've just had thee best breakfast words can't even describe. Ever since I noticed that Bedford was building a doppio excitement just got hold of me. Ordered the egg benini, stuuuning super well done , great flavors and price 😊 also had a mocha was also nice , like that it wasn't too rich . Opted to chill by their balcony , great seating arrangement and decor . Definitely coming back for lunch this time 🙌🏾

Quite enjoyed my visit to Doppio Zero today. The restaurant is beautiful, we sat outside. The service is great. We were even offered blankets because of the chill in the air . I had the sticky chicken burger, my sister had the pasta loco. Both meals were delicious. And the portions are generous. It was our first time there but it won't be our last . Delightful experience all round

Although I was pretty excited to see a Doppio Zero near me, I never had a chance to dine there. But tonight I cracked, craving dessert, I sped to Doppio.<br/>The service was very friendly, homey, even though I was slightly under dressed (dont judge me, it was a rough weekday and I just wanted some cake.)<br/>The rustic decor was absolutely lovely, golden warm and comfy. I peaked at the terrace and look forward to having breakfast there someday.<br/>The cakes are marvelous, the best being the Ferrero Rocher Cheese Cake. The Milo Fridge Cheese cake was light n fluffy whilst the BarOne Cheesecake was rich with a surprise attack of chocolate sweetness mixed in at the base.<br/>Love it, love it, love it.

I really want to like Doppio, but the standard just isn't as high as some of the other places in Bedfordview, there are so many other restaurants to choose from. If they don't up there game people just won't go. Our pizza arrived with extra anchovies instead of artichokes. The chicken livers were quite rare (even for me and I eat Steak Tartar) and the "New Potatoes with Siracha" didn't have any Siracha, but tons of whole grain mustard? You also feel like you're in competition of who can speak loudest, you and guests at your table or the staff? I know Doppio has only been open a couple of weeks but they're just not as polished as they should be.

Visited this newly opened establishment about a week ago, only about 4 days after they had opened. We got in and expected a lot more than what we received, the waiter was very good at first and on the ball, even after we had ordered our food (a burger and a chicken pasta) of which both were medicore, nothing wow about them. Parmasan cheese wasn't offered to us and when requested from another waiter, we were just forgotten about and had to request from the original waiter.  The waiter was checking on us a few times and then just disappeard - as we continued to eat, there was a rat running around the dining area, and this freaked not only us but a few other patrons as well. If this was in the dining area, Im not sure i would like to see the kitchen. We decided to get our food packed but this took forever as we couldn't locate our waiter, we then just got someone else to pack it for us, and another mission was requesting the bill. Overall not a good experience at all... rather disappointing to say the least. Not so sure i will be back so soon or at all...<br/><br/>Review 2:<br/><br/>This was my third visit to Doppio in Bedfordview, and sad to say they will not see me again! I have been disappointed on all three occasions.<br/><br/>Went for breakfast on a Saturday morning... They have no muffins, no croissants or anything of that sort, and this is a place that serves breakfast?<br/><br/>My mom ordered the ginger, lemon tea (note I said tea) when this arrived it was merely boiling water in a teapot, with a few shredded ginger bits, and one slice of lemon, no tea bag nothing. Called the manager who called her superior, asked how can this be called tea in the first place and how can it be listed under tea, when this was clearly infused water, and the excuse we got was that this is what head office does and calls it that.<br/><br/>I wanted a breakfast which had bacon, as I do not eat bacon, I asked if I could have salmon instead and I was told no, salmon is more expensive. I did not argue and just said ok.<br/>Normally a place would say yes certainly we can do that, and there will be an extra charge which I would have been ok with but nothing of that sort.<br/><br/>Sorry to say that you establishment and staff need a lot to learn, I would rather visit the establishment down the road who serves awesome breakfast, where waitrons go out of their way to serve and not walk around aimlessly.<br/><br/>I'm unfortunately done with Doppio! such a pity as I live around the corner from your establishment.

Lovely venue, but the food takes too long, friendly service, also for a place that sells lovely bread why don't they have tasty sandwiches made with their famous fresh bread on the menu?<br/>UPDATE: this has become one of our go to places the daily special are excellent and so is the pastas and pizzas

I went to Doppio on Saturday morning hoping to have a nice breakfast, not only did i not eat as i had to cancel my order after waiting an hour for my meal. I was told that they had not even begun cooking my meal. It was simple order for two people it seemed there were other tables also complaining and when i asked to speak to the owner as i had seen him walking around the restaurant  earlier he hid in the kitchen and refused to come deal with the complaints. The poor manager trying his best and he was at no fault but for an owner of an establishment to be too scared to come face his customer even though i specifically asked a manager and our waiter to call him he refused to come address us. This was a bad experience which can happen to any restaurant, but for the owner not to have dealt with the matter personally was the cherry on the cake and was a huge factor that i will never go back.

This is my first meal from the Bedfordview branch - I ordered the the Aglio Olio El Greco pasta with Fettuccine as a take away.<br/>The restaurant is beautiful and when you walk in you're greeted with the lovely smell of breads and pastries.<br/><br/>I was really impressed, the portion size was large (which I love as I'm a huge pasta fan), it smelled beautiful and was cooked perfectly and nothing was skimmed on, lots of halloumi and tomatoes. A delicious meal.<br/><br/>I asked for less oil and my pasta was made with less oil (which I very much appreciated).<br/><br/>My only complaint is that there was no parmesan shavings on the pasta which I always find adds to the taste and so this was missed.<br/><br/>Thank-you, looking forward to trying many more dishes from your menu.

Service was horrible, waited for my breakfast for 1h 30min, food was below average and they added other peoples food to my bill! Never coming back.
