The vibe, decor snd food was great! The waitress was very cool and made a lot of helpful suggestions with regards to the cocktail and food menu! Lovely large cocktail menu with an awesome cocktail special! Would definitely recommend this place for young couples or groups!

Man, this place is just awesome. The vibe and music really put a smile on your face and it always feels like everyone there is having a good time. Ordering a cocktail is a no-brainer, especially during happy hour. Try the Old Fashioned, I promise you won't be disappointed. The pizzas are great too! Overall great experience and good value for money, even if you're a broke student.

This place is an absolute gem with immaculate positioning in the student hub that is Melville. Came here for my friendâs graduation lunch and we were nothing but impressed. The specials on pizzas and cocktails meant we over exhausted our appetites and left well and truly satisfied. The waiter was also very knowledgable and was quick to suggest foods and drinks.

I absolutely love this place. The vibe and service are great!! Tried multiple cocktails, and they were all so tasty, especially the Patron Frappe... The rum runner should be had at ones own risk.

So whilst walking on the streets of Melville, we spotted the happy hour 12 to 7pm sign and ran straight in. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the drinks and food. For R60, I had 2 gin cocktails. Wow! The veg platter tapa and pizza we had were both delicious. Service is fantastic. Reason for 4 star is that the owner came by and the ambience of the place changed. He was shouting at staff and I felt that was disrespectful to patrons as we are supporting that same owner's business. The staff were very attentive but I fear standards will drop due to this fear of top management. If that could change, this place would be a return go to spot for me.

The food was delicious. They have a special on cocktails, buy one get one free which ensures you stay there for a long while. We ordered a couple of cocktails and they were very good. Since it was my birthday we received complimentary shots. I was happy to see that they were willing to accommodate one of my friends who was not a drinker by giving her a shot of passionfruit and lemonade. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and look forward to going again :)
Another great place with amazing drinks and good food. Their drink selection is huge! You wonât get bored with selection of drinks. The nice thing about this place is the specials of âBuy One, Get One Free.â The food isnât bad.
This is one of my favorite spots in Melville, the deco and the relaxed ambiance makes it a perfect spot for a night out for cocktail and delicious bites. Definitely one of my favorites spots.
Depending on the night of the week, this place is usually a turn up. It has become one of the popular spots in Melville for a weekend party vibe.Cannot really comment on the food menu but the drinks are good and the vibe does the rest :)

Sixes is a great place for drinks and catching up with your friends, they have lovely happy hour specials and the best Nachos in Melville đđ the music that they place at this placeđ„đ„ what a vibe I tell you. The service is just fine, can't really complain. Oh this place can get very crowded so go there prepared.

Definitely one of my all time favourite cocktails bars. My friends & I can come here every week without a second thought. They have a very wide selection of cocktails, along with good food that fits the chilled vibe of the place. They also have the best nachos I've ever had & they never get them wrong without fail.
The service is always on par & the waiters never fail to check on you, advise on drinks & treat you well. Always worth going to!
Sheesh, I don't know how I haven't come across this place sooner considering it's in my valley. Solidly one of the best Mussel Pots I've ever had. Would give it a good rating in this alone, that's how impressed I am.
hadn't been to this spot in a few years. The vibe was fantastic and the service was friendly. They have a huge range of cocktails which makes things very interesting, their special buy 1 and get a 2nd free cocktail ensured that the drinks flowed.
We ordered the chicken nachos to nimble on, they were fantastic. Their Jalapeño poppers were hot as hell bur everyone seemed to enjoy them. all and all, it's still a decent spot to have a sundowner
Such a fun, easy going spot for delicious drinks and tasty treats! Staff are friendly. Love the vibe and the colours around the place! Seating is a little unfriendly but nonetheless, all that matters is the food and the company!
I always enjoy the cocktails at Six as well as the atmosphere. The food is good and prices reasonable. We has a mixed platter and the chicken kebabs were so great. The vegetarian options were quite bland and for the diversity in items I was let down by the lack of different tastes, and the 'uniformity' of it all.
Nonetheless, the experience and drinks are always good.

Not only is 6's in the opening sequence of 7de laan which is simply just amazing, it's an institution just as 7de laan is.
Working in the City and living in Northcliff Hill, my journey home saw me driving pass 6's everyday.
And so I am delighted to say I have had every cocktail on the menu, all 60 twice ;-) courtesy of happy hour.
Dare not stick a cigarette in your mouth, you will have a hundred lighters lighting you up....amazing stuff that I have never seen anywhere else.
The Nachos are amazing...one can't describe them. You just need to have them.
6's has different dynamics to it and patrons change and changes depending on the time you visit this simply amazing cocktail bar/restaurant.
Lunch Times are normally your office workers, having business get togethers....a few walk in students. Night Times in the week is your very much still working class and couples.
However your Friday and Saturday night....student infestation.
6's caters for just about every crowd.
Remember students are students...
We were all students or some here probably still are.
I have seen some crazy things happen at 6's... crazy funny.

The best bar in Johannesburg to combine social buzz with a wide variety of cocktails. The tapas are pretty good and the prices are relatively affordable. Casual dates are good here in this relaxed environment. I generally love the relaxed vibe here, no matter the occasion.

100% the best Nachos in Johannesburg, hands down. The sauce they use is incredible, the cheese generous and the guac sensational; the perfect recipe. I could talk about their nachos for days but I'll use some self restraint and move this review on. Their other food is also really good although I must admit I mostly ever had their nachos. They have a lovely variety of tapas. I've tried their samoosas, spring rolls, haloumi, and chili poppers. All really good, their vege spring rolls are exceptionally good.
I have never had a waiter here who wasn't amazing. They're always so friendly, ready to suggest a killer cocktail and all around add to the vibe. The vibe is great with a banging play list and cool colours and decor.
Their cocktail menu is extensive and the ones I've had were great. They have a happy hour (7 hours) every day from 12 til 7 where it's two-for-one which makes the experience friendly with the wallet even.
Despite all the great options of restaurants in the area this is the clear winner for me, so give it a visit!
SIX Bar has got to be my FAVOURITE cocktail bar in Jozi. They have such a wide variety to choose from in terms of cocktails and they are devine! I love the food here too, really compliments the atmosphere and makes its a great place to chill out and have a good time. Thanks SIX team for the awesome hospitality always!

Tgey really do live up to their name of having the best cocktails and the best nachos. They won't disappoint in that department!

Six Bar literally has the beat Nachos in town. It's a MUST get if you visiting, not to mention their wifi is ready fast. A great little place to stop for a drink or two.
The food here is absolutely delicious and tasty. The waiters are swift and just as your drink hits hallway they are there to ask if they must tell the bar tender to get you another one. Their cocktails are stunning and who could ever complain about a 2 for 1 cocktail?

Love the extensive list of cocktails and shooters on the menu. You're really spoilt for choice! The food menu is equally exciting(though they don't have a lot of vegetarian options on the menu)- but if there's one thing you try- it has to be the nachos!! For a bar, the food here is really amazing!!
Then the service- probably the best service I have seen in Joburg in a really long time!! Food took a bit long but it was worth it :)

Word of warning, One helping of Nachos and a whiskey sour will convince you of asking for vip membership. Spoiler alert, there is none.
Needing a bite to eat with our beers, and seeing as the kitchen was closed where we were, we headed to Six for the best nachos in Joburg. We were seated at a shared table, which added to the experience and meant that not only did we make new friends but we also landed up staying far longer than we planned and introducing our new friends to our favourite cocktail: the chocolate martini. Not a place for a quick drink, definitely a place to meet new friends, linger, and enjoy the excellent food and most tasty cocktails.
Great atmosphere coupled with great drink specials, what more could you want from a chill session, except maybe some kick ass nachos. The location is a little hard to find and if you try get in on a busy day, good luck! But it's all worth it in the end
It was our first night in Joburg starting a long trip. Dropped by because it looked appealing and we have not been deceived. The owner was very receptive, the cocktails delicious, the best pinnacolada I ever had. The steak was the best my husband and I have had throughout our whole tour in South Africa! Â Â I would also pay special attention to the young Bernie who is so nice and was very attentive to our request. Â We spent a nice evening with the music and the young around even though we are in our 60's.
Still such a favourite with plenty of cocktail options. Love it! The platters are a perfect mix to the vibe. A must try on a lazy Saturday.

Cocktails! Cocktails! Cocktails! For days! My head was spinning I did not know what to drink. So many options. I Recommend the Voodoo Vodka.
Never have I been to a place that is so determined to get you drunk. Best customer service I have seen ever! The waitrons know exactly what to recommend and very friendly.
The Nachos are good but not the best for me, the only reason this is not a 5 is because the happy hour special was not explained properly. So i forfeited 6 free cocktails đ€ but I definately will be going back to Drink all the cocktails!
This place is amazing. Firstly, the menu has a wide selection of cocktails & cocktails that suit all personalities. Secondly, the service is amazing. The manager approached us a few times & our waitress was on point - always checking on us & immediately changing the ash tray (even with 1 cigarette in) and lastly the vibe. As its a small place, sometimes you're joined with strangers... Nice way to meet new people & I don't mind that. The music is loud & the people are louder. Will be back to try the delicious looking food (restaurant open till 01:00)
One of the only places where I could tell the barman what I like, he surprised me and I love the cocktail. Absolutely loved this place when I was younger for that. Also have amazing nachos, and a great variety of virgin-cocktails!
Having been around for more than a decade, Six Bar appears to be the one constant in the ever changing Melville landscape. In fact Six has even cracked a nod on the World's Best Bars directory.
Their cocktail menu is extensive, with over 60 cocktails on offer and the maraschino cherry on top, they have a daily happy hour which actually has a seven hour duration! The bar is unpretentious and I just love the chilled 7th Avenue vibe. So grab yourself an uber and get to work on that cocktail menu.
My first appletini experience was at Six Bar years ago, and its the only place i go to for it. Its like you are sipping alcohol out of an apple. Its crisp sweet and tangy, love it. Six is always busy and has a great mix of patrons, always expect to have an awesome time and you are spoilt for choice with cocktails.
Sixes is awesome. Great vibe,tasty finger foods and the list and variety of cocktails is endless. Perfect for sundowners with a few friends. The only 'problem' is the sharing table policy which can be a bit of an irritation.

Love the Chilli Coriander Capariniah ....love that they are almost always buy one get one free !! We have managed to work our way through this cocktail menu but this remains my favourite !!

Best NACHOS in town!!!!!! They aren't selfish with their portions and toppings. You have to go for the 2 for 1 drink specials that start at 12pm and finish at 7pm. The bar gets full pretty quickly but you can reserve a table. The music is great, the food not too bad and the drinks amazing and you won't leave their with all your pennies finished. Need I say more.
Best PinaColada and best Nachos in Jburg! Their two for one cocktails between 12 and 7pm will make your drinks linger into dinner! The staff is always friendly, although sometimes cocktails take a bit long to make so order your next round before your drink is done.

Lately, Â I feel more like I am drinking my way around Melville than eating it, but I am loving it! My favourite place for a cocktail on this street is SIX bar (and restaurant) which has incredible R55 cocktail selections, enthusiastic barmen and an unmistakably comfy, sofa vibe about it - so it would make sense that the first time that I visited this spot was as a student many years ago! SIX has stood the test of time and turns 12 this year, but it has come a long way since I was a student and it has had a face lift or two since then, keeping it on trend. Â I plan to head there again for a lazy afternoon of cocktail drinking (and photographing) soon so I will update this review then with some photos. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â *Recommendation: Ask about their two-for-one cocktail specials which I hear last seven hours (yes, you heard me right).. you won't be disappointed.
Lovely place.Perfect drinks and delicious food. Amazing waiters.... Who sometimes go awol. I had the tapas option which was great!!! The chicken sliders with pineapple were amazing. The mexican burger patties with nachos and jalapenos...amazing.

The cocktails and drinks specials are good, the bartenders are better And overall always a fun experience which will keep you out later than you anticipated!
Landed there yesterday afternoon with 4 friends. We were there at 330 pm with the intention of a couple of cocktails but the vibe / atmosphere / music / bar menu ensured we only leave after 6 hours. Needless to say the cocktails were fantastic - I'm biased towards a good mojito and they didn't disappoint. We also ordered a non veg platter enough for the 5 of us. Ending the night at around 2200 each of us would have had around 7 cocktails and 4 shooters and ended up spending 500 per head. Incl of a 20% tip. Overall great pocket friendly fun. Much recommended.

One of the best cocktail bars in Johannesburg, the cocktail menu is really exciting and the vibe around you is enough to keep you happy. I think their nachos are the best for me yet as a finger snack the cheese is really worth the munch and they are not stingy.
Need a drink? Want it to be a cocktail? Want it to be an awesome cocktail? Need it in the afternoon? Sixes is where you go! They have a daily cocktail special from midday until 7 where it's buy one get one free! This is one of the best deals you can get! Sixes is always vibey and is a fantastic way to ease yourself into Melville. Give the Patrone based cocktails a try as these are pretty great.

Had a pizza - Perfect Size! Perfect Base! Perfect Toppings! Perfection! My mate had the Mozambican Peri Peri Wings and Chips - he said the best in town! Their food is on point!
Service can be a mixture between fast and slow, however youâd hardly notice because youâll be having a gas listening to the music, which by the way is a jukebox, so you control what you wanna listen to (R5 a song) - depends on which side youâre sitting!
