Review Anat - Johannesburg

CASA BAKALI
It is a big mall it has many branches and many food centers and there is a lot of variety of food and a lot of Indian Pakistani Desi and every type of food and drink.

Always a vibe especially on weekends and Fridays. Great restaurants and bars for friends and family outings. Centrally located and near the Rosebank Gautrain station.

One of the best malls in South Africa, it has a lot of eating areas. I love it here

Spacious although parking and elevators are confusing put together hence I always use stairs to locate my car. Otherwise, the experience of the mall is always been awesome. You don't bump into each other

Well maintained. Quite impressive. Great modern Ambience. Security and Maintenance Staff were very helpful

This place is hard to fault! There's practically a store for everything and everyone, whether it's a fun hang out spot, gourmet restaurant, fast food joint, gym, cinema, tech store or tour operator; you'll find what you're looking for here! The guards were always doing there walk throughs which helped me feel safe here. I unintentionally spent a whole day here, that should say something about it! 😅

Absolutely fantastic dinner and drinks @proudmary. The barman is highly qualified, very friendly and knows his mixes

Nice place to go out with family all kind of restaurant available, Gaming (fun company) and cinema plus praying facilities for Muslims

I had such an awesome time there. From bowling and other games were fun and the stuff was very friendly. There was one game that didn't play right (the one with the chocolate of course) but otherwise I absolutely recommend.

Parking is a bit of an issue and paid. Overall the centre is pretty and the work spaces or offices look very nice. During loadshedding once, the security was very helpfull and assisted to get us back to basement while they were waiting for the generators to kick in.

We regularly order the plenty 4 because it's actually really filling and really good for the price. The restaurant is outside so it's really cold to get food but it's otherwise good. We also really enjoy the chicken schwama but it's a bit messy to eat. Just a warning, the chilli option is spicy but so good!

So I ordered takeaway delivery from Anat.

The food was delicious and very healthy.

The wrap was nicely filled and tasteful. Obsessed with their aubergines!!!

The falafel balls were also very delicious, but just a warning it’s very small so order a lot of them if you’re having them as a main dish.

Eating kebabs, wraps and middle eastern food is delicious.....not this place at all, their food is a cheap and lousy attempt at food from the middle east....iv been to all their outlets ( or most of them anyway) and every single one is a rip off and the food is bland and tasteless....Worst of all is the bread which is essential in middle eastern cuisine I just might add, crumbles and falls to pieces as you eat their schwarmas. This has happened to me far to many times..The chips are worse and for the rubbish they dish out at you it should be FAR FAR cheaper..... also iv been to Iran and Dubai....if you tried to serve anat there you'd get shot...it will be a happy day when this franchise goes belly up, how the owner can take money from people and give them such garbage is just criminal!

I really like the food here, but the service is terrible. Staff are uninterested and curt. Don't bother going when they're busy, you'll be ignored.

Tonight the service at Anat Rosebank was disgusting!!!! due to incompetence, lack of communication and bad customer service.

This includes the manager as well.

This is a typical outlet of the Anat branch where you find awesome falafel balls and schwarmas for a good price.

I was confronted today with a very rude staff member, that was disappointing.

What really bothers me about this outlet is that there are no screens on the side of the buffet table. So with a bit of wind, or someone sneezing (because it is quite exposed) the food will be directly affected.

Worth a try if you are around.

I'm often work in different malls, so I often pop into Anat for a schwarma treat. The service is efficient and friendly, the quality is consistent, and the food is fresh. If I don't visit Anat in Rosebank then there is something wrong ...

I usually get the beef schwarma topped with all the mezes, except chilli, and definitely fried onions and pickled turnip. They usually know my order off by heart. Even though I can never finish the chips, I get them anyway.

If I'm not that hungry, the have a special which includes grilled chicken, chips and the usual toppings in a wrap - kinda hits the best of both worlds.

I would love to see basil pesto added to the menu for chicken schwarmas.

Popped into Anat today and tried the Lamb plate for something different and it was quite tasty it's technically like a deconstructed schwarma except you only get half the pita. The ingredients are always fresh so I have no complaints. Service can be a bit shaky at times but for the most part a really good place to get a good quick meal.

Anat is my favourite fast food outlet. I love the falafel shwarmas. The quality has stayed consistent throughout the years and so has portion sizes. I like that I can choose my fillings and sauces. Their hummus and sesame sauce are both delicious. For me this is as good as fast food gets.

I REALLY love shwarmas and used to vist Anat's quite frequently when in rosebank. However, I have notice that their quality is not quite what it used to be, and does not fare so well in comparison to other places, such as Schwarma co in Norwood. I have found Anat's beef to be wayyyy too salty (and I like salty things) and recently, I opted for chicken , but it was undercooked. I was so hungry that I just picked out the chicken and ate my wrap. My boyfriend told server who apologized.

This place used to be an institution, but recently the standards have been slipping! The ordered 3 schwarmas on my last visit, one falafel and two lamb and a water. I waited over 10mins, received one chicken schwarma instead of a lamb, got very little sauce even after asking for less fillings but for more sauce, the response was I already added sauce...and they didn't give me my water. All of us were also not feeling well after the meal. Hate giving these kinds of reviews, hope Anat sees this and tries to aim for its form glory.

Food that's fast or fast food - Anat is one of the original fast street food outlets in Jozi. The shawarma and filling options that you can tailor to your unique taste as cool. I had the beef shawarma with my own toppings - grilled brinjals, tomato and cucumber relish and hummus. Although tasty, prices can be on the steep side, so go prepared if you are on a mod-month budget

Decided on Anat for lunch yesterday, and was told to try their lamb burger. The nice thing about Anat is that you can choose the items you want to add to the burger. I went for some crispy fried onions, tzatziki sauce, fried brinjal, and chilli. The burger was actually delicious, and no regrets diverging from my usual of Lamb Wrap.

Pathetic place is a damn good accreditation for this place. Taste, quality and quantity, everything sucks big time. No value for money. I would recommend everyone to please don't go there.

I ordered sone take away schwarma from Anat yesterday and it was goodish. The one schwarma had humus, tzatziki, chilli, slaw, pickles and beef, the other humus, tzatziki, brinjal and lamb. The lamb was very dry, but flavourful, the brinjal was very nice. My husband finished his beef schwarma, so I assume it was good. The portion is massive and they really stuff them, but I was still slightly underwhelmed, I think due to the dryness of the meat. The schwarmas were also poorly cut, and it ended up impossible to eat without making a massive mess - I ended up using a knife and fork, and let's face it, having to eat something like that with cutlery is just disappointing!! I give them a 3 because of portion size and the awesome friendly staff, based on quality of food alone it would've been a 2.5. I have been to them multiple times, and I honestly think they were just having an off day, as the food is generally worthy of a 3.5, so will be back and subsequently update my review.

The first time I ever had a schwarma was at this very Anat. I use to frequest Anat after university as it was well priced and very filling. This Anat has been around for over a decade and are still serving delicious schwarmas, wraps and burgers. It is perfectly situated between The Zone and the Rosebank Mall.

This restaurant reminded me of the döners in Germany, although they don't taste the same. The service is quick, the falafels, shawarmas and rolls can be customised according to ones liking.
Rebone Mofulatsi
I really, really love Anat. They really just have the best tasting wraps and shwarmas I've come across. The ingredients are always so fresh! This one in particular also has the most delicious chips of all the Anats I've been to!

I'd only fault the Rosebank one for having an unattractive seating area. It's next to a lot of traffic and offers very little privacy or quiet. It's almost set up as a take away restaurant and a sit-only-if-you-have-to.
But that's their model I guess, so hey.

Overall, I'd recommend this Anat to everyone. I've also never had a bad service experience here. Really well done!

Food is great. Pitas are always messy, make sure you're seated before trying to tackle this meal. However humus and some great fillings with chilli goes down well. Great for a quick bite. Excellent for vegetarians as their falafels made of chickpea are great.

To think ANAT started from a mobile unit many moons ago. They maintain a high standard with friendly and speedy service. Steps to take: Pay at till, move to the right, hand slip to a waiting "preparation expert", make your decision (but be quick it's a busy spot) & place order! Be it a Shwarma, Wrap or the well known Falafel. These are stuffed to the brim with various fresh veggie fillings that you get to choose. A layer of Hummus, Tzatziki, Tahini or Chilli adds flavorsome texture. The not so hungry can go for a Side Muncher portion, the more hungry can add a packet of their irresistible chips.

Very dissapointing.. I am here at 10:30 even though it says you are open at 9... and your shop is still closed because you are cleaning... aaahhh shame get your life together anat rose bank!! Rude manager too.. definately wont be supporting your shop again.. and neither with my friends and family.. good job!!

Super impressed with this Anat - fresh and on the go schwarma's in a really busy, but perfect location at Rosebank.

I was there during a Friday lunchtime rush, and I both the owner/manager were hands on - chatting to regulars, speeding up the process and it didn't even take 10 minutes for my combo to be ready.

Result: delicious lunch, and I even added some chips which were great too!

Food came quickly; the burger was good but the chips were cold and a little stale-ish. Overall great quality of food but pricing a bit expensive. Great setting and in the busy part of the mall. Owner runs the store well.

Anat used to be good but I'm not sure why they now combine the lamb with the turkey...wish it was still separate. I wish this one will relocate as it is in the middle of walkers by. There food is good but not convenient.

This place is my savior in rosebank mall for a quick bite..being a vegetarian, I always have to hunt for options in many restaurants in the mall. Here I can quickly get my falafal shwarma and pick my choice of vegetables to add with a curd based sauce. Their chips with various sauces are also good.

Really great place for a quick and reasonably-priced bite to eat when I'm one of my Rosebank shopping missions.

Service is quick and friendly, and they always have brinjals (the best part!) which gets a huge thumbs up from me.

My first visit to an anat was to this branch and I have been a regular ever since. Fast friendly and fresh pretty much sum up this branch. See you soon.
