We specifically went for the All you can eat sushi buffet and it was for the R188. Salmon roses and Sashimi limited to 1 portion per person but they have a wide variety of sushi options. An interesting option was Jelapini Salmon California rolls. All in all the sushi was above average so worth it if you're looking for a budget friendly night out with friends. Note: you absolutely have to try the custard buns with dipping sauce! An absolute winner!

An understated but long-lived Joburg restaurant, Rainbow has survived the ups and downs of Grant Avenue with the same cheerful laminated menu and extremely affordable prices. Rainbow continues to serve excellent quality creative sushi and tasty restaurant Chinese food to those in the know. The staff are equally faithful and friendly.

Just ordered a sweet and sour pork with rice, honesty the best I’ve ever eaten, they are not stingy with the pork. They add enough sauce to combine with the rice, and enough vegetables to take some with every bite. Waitrons there are very friendly, they may not be serving you but still give a warm welcome when entering.

Surprises do exist! Looking for a quick bite during my business visit I decided to go here. Not the most fancy neighborhood (to say the least) but man... the people running the show, nothing else then friendly, helpful and very nice. I took all you can eat for ZAR 188 which really smashed my expectations. Great sushi and sashimi. I will definitely will go here again when I'm in town.

My partner and I were craving sushi at 9:30 on Wednesday night so we quickly jumped into the car and drove to find our nearest Sushi restaurant. We found Rainbow Sushi and Chinese and even though they were in the process of closing, they still offered to make us the sushi for a takeaway. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and his service was brilliant. We are were both very happy with the portion size and the amount of tuna and salmon used in our order. The interior could use a bit of work and there was a bit of a funny smell but the food was awesome

Ordered via Mr Delivery, first time ordering from here. Affordable sushi prices, a big variety to choose from and very fresh as well. I just wish they didn't mash up the wasabi against the sushi (I don't eat wasabi) and would suggest it rather being packaged separately but other than that no complaints.

What a gem ! One of the best kept secrets in JHB. Food was delicious, fresh and fast with some interesting different options / dishes on the menu. The Chocolate mousse cake was a highlight ! Will definitely be coming back !

I was going to give them 1 star for how long it took my delivery to arrive (almost an hour late) but the sushi was good and great for the price compared to other places in town. I couldn’t help but to be left satisfied.
