Cake and hot drinks were fantastic. Prices are reasonable too. Warm and cosy feeling. Thanks for the lovely service.

The cakes are baked well, fresh, rich, tasty. Wide variety of cakes. Basic teas and coffee options. Amazing customer service. Comfortable seating. They also have a breakfast menu available all day. Perfect place to visit for proper dessert for cake lovers.

This is a reasonably good breakfast/brunch spot. Highly recommend the Omelette and Chicken basket. Both are delicious and portions are huge. Coffees, milkshakes and hot chocolates are some of the tastiest around. Efficient and friendly staff. Tends to get busy but convenient for a quick meal and/or coffee date. Variety of delicious cakes daily to take your pick.

All though I have eaten here before, they provide simple yet good food. However, the coffee at this place is really outstanding and hard to beat. All the drinks were brought at the same time, and were still of great temperature! A lot of times at other places they come at different temperatures. The coffee has a lot of flavor and is far from bitter. I would recommend their cortado’s for a coffee with a twist! The service was excellent from the get go, as well as the service in between serving us and leaving. If you want a great coffee, this is your spot!

Lovely place. Relaxed atmosphere and great service. While we just had cakes they were divine. The rainbow and coconut custard (waiters suggestion and he was right!)

We really enjoyed everything about Fego Caffè from the food, waiters, drinks and the service from the staff. They really care about patron's coming in. I can definitely recommend it to anyone...

Situated inside Monte Casino opposite Truworths. <br/>Their menu is great with a wide variety. Cakes are delish - the Mozart is my all time favourite. A variety of delectable hot drinks. The one issue I always have when I am here is the service.

Fego Cafe standards met. Fego Cafes have a distinctive food taste. The quality coffees and small food dishes are amazing. Good service. Good food<br/>Hazelnut Expresso is speciality coffee at Fego Cafe!! Totally must try. It’s warm, creamy and delicious. Something different to try than your regular latte, expresso or cappuccino!! The Egg Benedict is good too comes with 2 eggs pouched to perfection and the quality of their products are good.

What a disappointment. Coming to watch a show at the Teatro Theatre and just wanting to treat ourselves with some cake and coffee before the show. The staff was friendly and fast in getting our order down. <br/><br/>When our coffee arrived it was not even coffee. We ordered a Flat White and the “coffee” looked more like milk with a dash of coffee. You could not even taste the coffee. Ended up having to order an extra shot of espresso to try and get the flat white taste like coffee. On top of that the cake was old and not that great. <br/><br/>Wonderful vibe and friendly staff as already mentioned. But...Not worth it if you really enjoy your coffee.

A really good selection of cakes, the “Death By Chocolate” was really good, moist and packed with sweet goodness. The staff were friendly, one of them was really witty which is good if you have a good sense of humor.

Really friendly staff - only thing to note is that their prices have increased - so would be an idea to update menu / prices on this app otherwise a good breakfast to start the day with!!

2018/07/22 - went for breakfast- it took so long for our food to get to the table it was almost lunchtime by the time we got it. An hour for bacon and eggs? Really? The excuse - “we’re really busy “ !! Unacceptable- if you’re too busy, stop letting more people in, or at least tell them before seating them that it’s going to take forever to get your food and that when you get it it will be cold.

Wish the cafe could be bigger and faster service but otherwise delicious coffee and tea with snacks and nice people who serve. I want to come back.

Their fresh strawberry cheesecake is amazballs. We went during peak time so staff was all over the show and didn't give us satisfactory service. Apart from that it was a great place and I will definitely visit them again.

Popped in for Sunday breakfast, as most restaurants at Monte are closed in mornings. The cake display has definitely lost its appeal over the years. The usuals are on the menu and prices are reasonable. The eggs on both options unfortunately not done correctly, was not a soft poached or sunny side, eggs were a bit over. On the rostithe proportion of one poached egg on two rostis was off. I did love both the hollandaise and tomato relish. Average start to the day.

The cakes are pure indulgence. My friends and I had the chocolate mousse cake, death by chocolate and the red velvet cheesecake. They were amazing and so fresh. There is a perfect balance of sugar, so they were not super rich, which was just perfect to enjoy all of it :)

The food was good and the service from Trysman was great. The waiter went out of his way to accommodate fussy eaters and it was a pleasure to be served by him.

Currently sitting in your restaurant. Called your Female Manager to remove my food since I pointed out a cockroach crawling on the glass next to my table. She proceeded to remove it with her hand and took my food as well. No apology given. I then lifted my Hannah fro the floor and lo and behold baby cockroaches on the floor. I asked the waitress to move me to another table. I asked for my bill...which swiftly arrived. I take it your management and staff are used to having cockroaches in the restaurant hence since all I was asked to do was settle my bill but no apology was forthcoming. Last time I dine here!

The Staff here was amazing. Very friendly and as a 1st time go-er to Fego they explained the cakes and stuff very well. Ambience : it was very chilled. Something you would enjoy after a long day at work. Food: The Cake we ordered was amazing as well as the Lindt milkshake- it was to die for.

My family and I booked movie tickets and decided to go to Fego Cafe for a quick bite. My wife and kids ordered the chicken basket and I ordered the T Bone. 40 minutes later no food was in sight. We asked 3 people including a guy with a managers tag and they disappeared into the kitchen and never returned. On enquiring with the 4th person I was told the kitchen is under pressure. Having had the chicken basket many times at Fego Cafe I know that it does not take that long for the order to come. I felt like I was brushed off because I complained and when I cancelled my order

Quite disappointed with this joint. It took over 40mins for our food to get to us. I had the medio breakfast - the eggs were undercooked (sent it back and opted rather for the safer option - scrambled). The food was bland and uneventful. The waiter that took over our table did try his best to make up for the mix up and was very helpful. Doubt I'll be returning though.

If you need coffee at Monte, this is the first place that comes to mind. Service was slow for our big table, but the staff were apologetic about this and trying their best. Coffees were good- mist try the coconut honeycomb hot chocolate!

Chicken and halloumi salad was very disappointing. Halloumi over cooked and dry, soggy warm tomatoes.. too much lettuce too little toppings!!

Any coffee shop worth its weight in caffeine has free WiFi these days - Fego Caffè gets a gold star for that. Cute cappuccino art also gets you brownie points, so good result there too. My colleague's muffin left me with a bout of food envy, so more brownie points there. Will I return? Yup, you can bet your espresso on it.

Fego : This place is a good chill out spot in Monte during the weekends and I've been here a couple of time.<br/><br/>However, this place didn't impress me much with their desserts when compared to their aura. The first time I popped in here to try their slice of Red Velvet cake, the slice was substantial and good but not great! The next time I tried their desserts - Chocolate Delizio and Ice Cream & Chocolate sauce which was good but didn't wow me. The service was good.<br/><br/>Overall, a decent place to chill out, but can improve their taste.

We went to get some cake and grab coffee..lovely atmosphere and vibe spot..we sat outside so we good enjoy the outside scenario better..the service was very slow and waiters not really attentive..the death by chocolate cake was dry and below standard I would not recommend..I had the coconut hot drink and while it was tasty it did not look appetising as they served it messed and they glass dripping..my husband enjoyed the carrot cake and raved about the vanilla milkshake..you need to improve your service..

I love restaurants that serve breakfast at night! I enjoyed my eggs Benedict at Fego and the hollandaise sauce was superb. Great atmosphere overall and the service was good. My friend had a Brie and Bacon steak which she didn't enjoy as it was over cooked. The salad on the side was fresh and tasty so a good experience overall.

Just love this little café. The cakes are divine and such a wide selection. The waiters are also really friendly and attentive. Perfect location for a Chai Latte and some people watching. Coffee is really good, loving the cappuccino artworks!

We always love the FEGO chips, love it! Love the seasoning, it's a must every time we frequent Fego... but on the 30th of November 2016, we had such a lovely experience, that my hubby decided to write a review - and he's not the writer in the family! hahah... (have a look at our site for the review)<br/><br/>Anyway, to cut a long story short, we were impressed by the awesome hospitality by Wynard and Thanda on the 30th of November 2016, late at night... We had a special order of their famous Fego fries that we love so much, and to accompany that enjoyed a lovely rainbow cake (the rainbow cake is a first for my hubby and I as we didn't feel a need to taste it anywhere before, but at this Fego it just looked so inviting!). We usually enjoy a chocolate cake from here or their red velvet cake. Our drinks included the refreshing and different taste of macadamia frappe and the chai latte. Enjoyed the service, enjoyed the food and loved the atmosphere!

A good place to enjoy some great coffee. The place has a great vibey to it.<br/><br/>The service is a bit slow as the waiters are too busy chatting to each other instead of paying attention to the customers. Fego situated in Monte casino, a great place to meet for coffee or warm beverages. The cakes are great! The waitrons are friendly and efficient even when it's busy, I enjoy watching people walk by as I sip on my coffee.

What a lovely coffee shop. With smiling friendly waiters and amazing service. Coffee was strong, bold and delicious. We even got pictures on our hot choc and cuppacino.

I love coming here for the baskets. Its a lot of tiny treats cooked consistently well and filling. Its great to share or to nibble on with a  coffee.<br/>They also do very yummy burgers.<br/>Their  cakes, although look great ,are not all wows for me. some are quite tasty though.

This is one of those places that I've walked by hundreds of times thinking "ooh next time I'm going there". We finally stopped by before a movie for a slice of cake and some tea. We sat "outside" and service was a little slow. However, the staff and manager were all friendly. <br/><br/>The cake was pretty good and the portion is definitely enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. I find the prices to be pretty steep, I mean for the same price range I could get delicious slice of gourmet cake elsewhere. <br/><br/>For what's available in Monte it's a good spot to stop by when you're there if you're specifically craving some cake.

I'm not sure about this place. You know when you repeatedly return to a restaurant hoping to try out something new incase it might redeem the thoughts you gathered about the place from your previous meals? Yes this is Fego for me. It's a nice Cosy area to sit in in the busy Montecasino however the food is lacking something. The sandwiches feel like they're homemade (I go out to eat what I can make but in a better tasting way) so now it's like why am I bothering to pay for something I probably would've made that might taste a tad better. But consultation prize is their wait staff who do try their best at keeping everyone happy.

Great little coffee shop on Monte serving some traditional and very different hot drinks. Hubby tried the peanut butter hot chocolate which he loved, their cakes were being packed away at the time we sat down which was almost 10:30 but they looked great and I'll be back to try a baked cheesecake.

They have a wide variety of coffees and hot drinks which is really great if you're looking for something different. They have coconut hot chocolate!!! The cakes also looked very good but we didn't have any...definitely next time!

Fego Caffe is at a very busy spot in the Montecasino complex. <br/><br/>They are supposed to be the coffee specialists, but they did not impress....<br/><br/>They even managed to burn the water....something that should never happen with coffee as it has a serious adverse effect on the taste...<br/><br/>There is nothing spectacular about the menu. It just has the normal stuff....<br/><br/>It is really a pity as they have the perfect location....

After a really interesting evening at Joseph and the amazing technicolor Dreamcoat we stopped off here for drinks. There is never any reason to wait 20 minutes for coffee. Especially below average coffee. Especially at 10:30pm. That was mean. It was just average coffee. I would have rather got Mac Ds drive through coffee. I'm sad

Disappointed with the menu, I don't think they have enough to offer in terms of food. Cakes look nice, but there's nothing really special about this one. Ordered the chicken platter, chips are nice enough, but the portion of the dish itself is kind of small.

Service was slow and lacked interest. Coffee was awesome. incorrect billing as well as the most bland steak sandwich. Been here a few times ..seems like service is slipping. Been a regular today, <br/>17.06.2017 chocolate cake was so stale.

I have been to this particular Fego twice, and both occasions pleasantly surprised. I'm used to average to below average service and decent, but not amazing, food from this franchise. However, at this branch I've experienced friendly, attentive service and above average food. The chicken and cheese baskets are a particularly good treat to share, and the flapjacks with Nutella do not disappoint. The bar has been raised a little for Fego, in my books.

Fego Caffe is a small reataurant in Montecasino and they offer a few nice options, especially for lunch.<br/><br/>Drinks: Various drinks options are available. I had a mango smoothie, and it was nice and tasty.<br/><br/>Food: We had a chicken basket. 3 chicken kebabs, chips, chicken pieces and a very random jalepeno. Could not complain.<br/><br/>Price: The prices are tough if you consider what you get.<br/><br/>Service: Good.

Love the Caramel Cheesecake! And the coffee choices and decadent tastes for hot drinks are fabulous. All the meals are very good and service is great!

Great service, awesome chocolate brownie and ice cream. Rainbow cake was really good as well. The only draw back was the presentation of the cappuccino, with the cup being messed on the outside, due to heavy spilling. Good overall though

Had a great beef, peppadew, fried tomatoes open sandwich on health bread for lunch today. The sitting was surprising filling and the service was tops. 👍🏻

Came here for cake while I waiting for my boyfriend to arrive and what a terrible decision it was. This wasn't my first time here but it had been a while so I thought why not. I ordered a slice of chocolate cake and it was so dry. I think it's been there for more than a week to be honest. Had to wash it down with my drink. I'm not one to complain but I should probably start doing so because that was just disrespectful to the customer. I only stayed for the wifi because I needed to update my app and that's the only great thing about this place

A charming coffee shop with lovely cakes. Their breakfasts and light lunches are also good, but it must be the large selection cakes that makes this cafe.

My friends decided that we had to have some their baked goods. Needless to say screw the diet! With so many choices to pick from I decided to have the lemon meringue pie, it was good the base I found was terrible and left most of it but the filling and the meringue was delish. My friends had the caramel cheese cake and the strawberry cheesecake both of them said it was beyond delicious. Will be back to try some more of their cakes! Because who doesn't love cake!

I was having a working lunch for one so didn't pay much attention to the service, although I did notice that my waitress was very friendly and accommodating when I asked to be moved inside. The menu is extensive and offers the best in all day dining. I opted for a haloumi and avo salad, which was generously bedecked with haloumi, avo, parmesan shavings and sundried tomato and drizzled with balsamic reduction - absolutely delicious. I had a red cappuccino, which arrived artfully presented with a panda bear. I found the value excellent, at just under R70. The only drawback is the cake display, which is a tad too tempting. I'll definitely be back

A place to come for a light lunch. We were so impressed with the artwork on the cappuccinos and they tasted as good as they looked. Our food also looked good, I'm now talking about the wraps, there's not much you can really do to make a toasted chicken and mayo look exciting. However, I ordered the Halloumi Cheese one and my friend had the Cajun Chicken. She said she enjoyed hers, but I have to say I found mine to be a bit on the salty side. I was only sorry I didn't have room for the cakes because they really did look delicious.<br/><br/>

We ended off our night at fego for drinks and a slice of cake. It was pretty busy when we went and we ended being seated inside. <br/><br/>The waitress that served us was friendly and had a smile that lasted the whole night. We ordered out drinks. I had the frullato while my girlfriend ordered a red cappuccino. <br/><br/>While we were waiting we enquired about the cakes on offer. There was a lot to choose from but from what I remember there was a Lindt chocolate cake, barone cake, baked cheesecake, rainbow cake and tirimisu cake but to name a few. We ended up choosing the barone cake. <br/><br/>The frullato was good and very delicious. I could have had more than one, that's how good it was. The consistency of the frullato wasn't too runny or thick. <br/><br/>The cake did take Some time to get to us, by which time I was pretty much full from the frullato itself. The cake slice we got was huge. The cake was good and was still soft and moist. Only thing bad I have to say was that it tasted like a normal chocolate cake. The only caramel on the cake was basically on the top and on the chocolate rose. <br/><br/>Not a bad place to relax and chill in my opinion. Service although friendly is lacking at times, as we needed to get the attention of a number of waiters to help us as well.

Not a very good experience, despite the manager being very friendly. The restaurant was extremely busy and they were understaffed. We waited a really long time to get our coffee order and when it came, they brought cold milk instead of hot. This isn't a major issue but they also forgot to bring us sugar. We waited even longer for our second cup of coffee. Despite looking very appetizing, the chocolate cake was a let down. <br/><br/>This has the potential to be a great cafe, they just need to increase their staff on the days they are expecting more customers and teach their wait staff to be more attentive. Again, I should just mention, the manager was definitely on the ball which is why I will give the restaurant a second chance.

I did not take any pictures as we left before our food could be made. We ordered milkshakes which were given to us incorrectly. The waitress could not even attempt any form of addressing it. All she said was that she didn't know what happened with no resolution. The place was actually not at capacity and pretty empty. Yet after over 15 mins we were told that our food will be delayed as the kitchen could not cope with a half than full restaurant. We paid for our milkshakes we didn't order and left extremely frustrated by staff who clearly displayed poor attitude and zero customer service. Unfortunately Zomato does not have negative ratings which is clearly needed for this review.

Placed in the perfect spot right outside of the entertainment area in Monte Casino this little Caffè has everything it needs to succeed. Our waitress was friendly and although our food took a while it was very enjoyable. Overall we had a rather pleasant experience and a delicious breakfast. A great way to start the day!

I've always thought this was more of a dessert or coffee place than a sit down joint, so this weekend we decided to give their food a go and who knew, the pasta and the wraps were both well priced and tasted good too.

Slow service and unfortunately not friendly staff either. But the coffee and chocolate brownies were divine. I will be back. The cake arrangements look amazing!

This Fego has been placed on the perfect corner in Monte, luring customers inside with delicious cakes and the smells of brewing coffee. Definitely a good stop after a movie to grab a warm drink before heading home. I'm in love with the Horlicks!<br/>This Fego is also one of the few restaurants that has a smoking room.

The first thing that draws you to this restaurant as you approach is the rotating cake stand with these humongous monstrosities of layers of cake.<br/><br/>Be it layers of chocolate cake or the meringues its definitely tempting and eye catching. On this occasion we didnt have a meal rather just ordered a plate of chips and dip and drinks. I had the mango crusher which went down well and of course gives a person brain freeze. <br/><br/>

We went here for breakfast which was very tasty and filling! The portion sizes are big and the prices are just as large but the service is very good. They make a very yummy latte!

I was stranded without wifi, so I took refuge by eating at Fego Caffe. Fego is great for a quick stop and decently priced food. But it's just an ordinary cafe. Nothing special about it, kind of mediocre.<br/><br/>I had an Americano and it was kind of weak compared to other Americanos I've had. And I had Eggs Benedict. I was quite disappointed in the proportion, but it was actually quite filling. With the option of being served with ham or salmon, it's a good combination when served on an english muffin. <br/><br/>Basically, I had a decent filling breakfast, but nothing that was out of this world.

Surprisingly affordable, great selection of food and drinks, including cocktails. We had wraps that were fresh and flavourful. The service could improve a little, but if you're in Monte Casino, it beats KFC!

I came here after having watched a movie with some friends. We waited for 25 minutes for a couple of coffees and a tea. waiting that long for a hot beverage is a little ridiculous. The staff refused to call their manager for us to chat, we were being very nice about the situation but the waiter just refused to call the manager. Their cakes always look amazing and the location is great for a quick cup of tea and a treat before or after a movie, but i was really disappointed with the service. I've been back since and the service was better but I still hold a bit of a grudge.

After a late movie at Monte, I always find Fego to be a good option for dessert... there is a variety available ... and they always have good teas, hot choc, etc. Their cakes are good enough ... I would not say they are amazing ... this is not the place you would go to for amazing cakes ... for that you would go to a patisserie ... but if you just need a place to satisfy the craving, this is it. The waiters do their job, and are suited to the type of restaurant this is: they take your order and bring you the order when it is ready. The meals are affordable, and they offer simple food such as toasted sandwiches, etc.

Terrible service, glasses dirty, no management. Would not go back again, and that is before we got the food.

Fego Cafe is one of my favourite places to stop for coffee & dessert after a show at one of the Montecasino theatres. It is a bustling little coffee shop so sometimes the service can be a little slow but the staff are always friendly and helpful. I love their latte and white hot chocolate and if you have a sweet tooth you are in luck because the cake selections has a little something for everyone and the portions are very generous.

I love Fego Cafe. I have only ever had coffee and cake though. The coffee is of a high standard and I am always impressed. The cakes are really good. They have a special honeycomb Meringue cake which I can't get enough off. The decor is simple and I think they want to give it an Italian cafe look and feel. You can suck up the buzz of the people at Monte if you sit outside. I have at times struggled to find a table though. The service is good but I had to wait a few minutes before the waiter would come around. If you love coffee and love freshly baked cakes, you will love this place!
