Oregano offers an outstanding variety of baked goods. The milktarts are better than my mother-in-law's, and the cinnamon rolls taste like they were made with you in mind. Treat yourself by buying a couple of slices of the cakes on offer (the caramel brownie cheesecake and the beetroot and walnut cake are particular favourites). Go in with a plan, though - if you try to freestyle it here, you might walk out with one of each ...
A very warm and inviting bakery. Their pies are incredible and the coffee is great too. The service was very friendly but not overbearing. Will definitely visit again to try some of the other treats.

Those that know me, will know that I'm an absolute cake fanatic. I've been all over Jo'burg and I can confidently say that Oregano does the best cakes in Jo'burg, if not in Gauteng. Upon entering the quaint little bakery, you're greeted by the friendly faces who pride themselves on their personalised service. The Oregano philosophy is to keep it small enough to achieve excellence and big enough to accommodate the customer. The cakes are phenomenal and I'd recommend that any cake lover should try their cakes if you haven't already.
A beautiful, thriving bakery that serve a supurb Cuppacino. Attention to detail is amazing, right down to a glass of water with a touch of raspberry. Classy!

Had a wonderful time at Oregano, really enjoyed their raspberry friands, goes down great with a cuppa tea! All their products are freshly baked, and the staff are extremely friendly. Really enjoyed the time spent there!

Oregano is by far the best bakery in Johannesburg. They prepare the most beautiful cakes (the orange polenta cake and friands are out of this world) and bread. We have also ordered catering on two occasions (the latter being our wedding) and only had amazing feedback from our guests. The service was also so personal and friendly that you don't feel like just another client.
Probably the best bread I have ever tasted. I have tried the Panini and Rosemary loaf and both are divine. Lovely crispy crust and soft, slightly chewy inside. The cakes,pies and other treats are made with a lot of attention and clearly by someone that loves what they do. Really friendly owner. Would definitely recommend them!!
If you haven't had one of their milkshakes then you should kick yourself in the head. I like my milkshakes. They're second only to breathing for me, and it's a very narrow call. Oregano's milkshakes are the best I've ever tasted. Ever.

Sharon was the kindest and most helpful person I have dealt with, making this such a pleasant and easy thing to organize. It is always such a pleasure dealing with people who are so willing to assist you and eager to satisfy your needs in every way possible! Everyone at Steve's office had only good things to say about the cupcakes, saying they were the best they had tasted!! The chocolate ganache cupcakes especially! The cupcakes were polished before Steve was able to take any more pictures.
I will most definitely be using your services again and will HIGHLY recommend you to friends and family! Thank you again for doing me this favour, I appreciate the effort that you went to more than you can imagine. The cupcakes exceeded every expectation and Steve was very happy with them!
Oregano did my wedding cake for me last minute. They did a fantastic job and their service is spectacular. Friendly owner, lovely location and the cake not only looked beautiful it was probably one of the best cakes I tasted (so moist even three days later).
This is by far the best Cake and. Patisserie shops around. From the moment i walked in to the rich aromas of butter cinnamon ,vanilla and coffee I knew i could fall in love with this place. Now that i have been here a few times i can say the beetroot and walnut cake is epic. The orange polenta cake is another hit. They make fine cheese cake and i have not had a single bad choice.

I love this bakery / patisserie. It's a lovely lityle spot to drop by and grab something to take home. They are traditionally a caterer but do serve some tea / Nespresso coffee with their delicacies.
There is plenty to choose from. From fresh baked bread (100% rye on a Saturday) to polenta cakes, cinnamon buns, rusks, meringues, cute French things that I cannot pronounce nor spell to thee most delicant chocolate torte on planet earth.
Most people, I'd say, can buy and go home. I've never left the little shop without enjoying something delicious over coffee and bliss. Instant day dream and heart delights.
This is our local coffee shop and we hardly miss a Saturday morning!
It does get busy at times, we like to go early though.
Most delicious bakes, friendly staff and you can see the master baker at work. It is a classic, baked like your grandma did it.
Fresh flowers on the tables frequently, a new delight almost every visit.

Great visit marred by out of stock situation with my preferred flavour of iced tea and inadequate supply of requested quiche options at our table. My BLT was terrific. Definitely worth another visit when hopefully Oregano is better stocked.
I ordered a bunch of Oregano's yummy goodies to be delivered to my parents on Fathers Day. Though the address was further than their stated distance to deliver to, Oregano were so helpful in giving me solutions and nothing was too much trouble. The treats got to their destination and my parents were very happy. Thanks for going the extra mile :-)
Stunning little bakery Cafe in Linden. Personally managed by the owner, food is always fresh and delicious. If you're looking for beautifully decorated and, no doubt, delicious cakes, give them a try.
Lovely spot. We went for milktart but when we got there it was sold out, however they went above and beyond to make for our group regardless. Friendly service and delicious treats!
Don't expect bacon and eggs for breakfast. Only cakes, tarts, rolls and bread served here.I like the quiet atmosphere and the smell of the freshly baked cakes and tarts. Good quality bakes and portions are not tiny. Friendly service, good coffee. Wide range. No disappointment expected here.

This place is amazing! The bubka that I received from here is truly delicious, I mean mouth watering delicious, I am craving a slice! I bought one on Thursday 14 April 2022 and finished it on the 14th of April 2022. I can't wait untill Thursday next week for my second loaf!

Truly wonderful little bakery with the kindest owner I could imagine. We bought her cranberry pumpkin biscuits and had to come back for more. The next time we shopped, she brought us out a fresh plate for hot cookies from the oven, insisting to feed us while we shopped. She sells cookies, cakes, tartes - both south African specialties and classics. The Christmas cake was so full of nuts, fruit, and other amazing things, that it weighed about 3 kg. Her packaging and hand-written note cards are so thoughtful, and there is clearly love in every bite.
